CHAPTER ELEVEN:
HOME SWEET HOME
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Brett Talbot follows Elena up the stairs towards her apartment, both of the teens exhausted and covered in blood from the fight tonight. "Are you sure you're okay?" The werewolf asks as the huntress pulls her apartment key out from her pocket to unlock the door.

"Yeah, are you?" She questions back, turning the key and opening the door. The Talbot boy nods before following the girl inside. After tonight's events, Brett didn't want either of them to be alone, especially himself after being almost killed so many times this week.

Brett follows the girl inside of her apartment, looking at how the only pictures hanging up are ones of her and her brother. "Who's this?" He questions, pointing at a picture of Marcos, Elena, and some brunette haired girl he didn't recognize.

Elena walks over to the werewolf's side, a cup of tea in her hand as she looks up at the picture, realizing he was pointing at Adriana. "That's Adriana," She pauses before continuing, "Our older sister."

The werewolf looks at the huntress, his eyes brows furrowing in confusion, "You guys never mentioned anything about a sister."

"It's something Marcos and I don't like talking about," She shrugs, taking a sip of her drink as Brett's eyes begin to soften. About two years ago, Adriana Calavera, was sent out on a mission to kill an alpha who was also known as the Demon Wolf. However, the huntress was unfortunately bitten by the alpha, causing her to take her own life to honor her family's code, or at least that's what the twins were told.

"You don't have to share anything you don't want to," He tells her, grabbing ahold of the girls hand that was hanging right next to his. "But you can always talk to me, I do want you to know that."

The Calavera girl nods with a small smile spreading onto her lips, "I know." The two fell into a comfortable silence while Elena stared at the picture in front of her. "I always forget how beautiful she was," Elena whispers, memories flooding her mind as she looks at Adriana.

"Yeah," Brett mumbles, however, not looking at the picture in front of them, instead he was looking at the Calavera girl beside her. The girl his mind has been thinking about nonstop which meant that he was beginning to feel something for her, even if he didn't want to admit it yet.

Elena finally peels her eyes away from the picture and towards the werewolf, "Did you want to borrow some of Marcos's clothes?" She asks, looking at the boy who was still covered in blood.

He nods, causing Elena to head over to her brother's room and bring the werewolf a pair of gray sweatpants and a white shirt. "Thanks," He tells her before heading towards the bathroom to change.

Before he can shut the door, she puts her hand in the way to stop it. "I also just wanted to say thank you."

"For what?" He asks, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion since he had no idea what he was being thanked for.

"For saving my life," She answers, looking directly into the werewolf's blue eyes as she notices his hair following perfectly on his forehead and his shirt that was ripped in some-places which made parts of his toned stomach visible.

"Well, I guess it's kinda what you and I do now," He tells her, both of their eyes softening as they look at one another. Elena doesn't hesitate as she wraps her arms around the boys neck. The werewolf immediately wrapping his arms around the girl's waist.

The two stayed silent for a couple of minutes in each other's arms before finally slowly pulling away. Their eyes scanning each other's facial features, including their lips, however, before either of them can do anything else, the front door swings open to reveal both of their siblings. "We got the popcorn!" Marcos yells out, causing the two to stumble back out from each other's arms.

Lori and Marcos share a look with one another before shutting the front door and heading towards the couch. Brett and Elena follow their siblings to the couch, "What are we watching?" He asks, taking a handful of popcorn from his sister and putting it in his mouth.

"The Hunger Games," Marcos answers, reaching for the remote and switching the TV on.

The group of four got situated on the couch as the intro began to play. Brett and Lori on the edge with the twins in the middle. It felt nice for the four teenagers to simply be just that, teenagers, even if the group knew it wouldn't last long.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

It had been a couple of days since it was revealed that Peter Hale was the benefactor and the deadpool had been fully stopped. Things were slowly going back to how things were before the teenagers were hunted down by assassins.

Now, Elena was chatting with Kira as Malia turned to the banshee beside her, "Lydia? Lydia. Did you hear me?" The question caught the huntress and kitsune's attention as the werecoyote held up her test towards the banshee, "Look! I passed."

Elena and Kira smile brightly at the blonde's accomplishment as Lydia rose and eyebrow before responding, "C-minus."

"Your notes are great when they're not written in code," Malia tells her as another paper is placed on the blonde's desk.

"Disappointed, Malia." Coach, Bobby Finstock, says, making the werecoyote look up, "Profoundly disappointed."

Malia looks over at the banshee and huntress, "I'll send you my notes." Lydia tells her before glancing back down to her notebook and then up at the board, her expression changing in which Elena and Kira both notice.

The kitsune leans over to the banshee, whispering so only the three girls around her could hear, "It's over. The computers are off. No more assassins. No more murders. No one's dying."

The strawberry blonde slowly turns her head away from the group, a blank expression on her face as she spoke, "Not yet."

After class, Malia and Elena walked to the werecoyote's locker to grab all of the books she would need for their study session after school today at Stiles's house. The huntress's phone buzzed causing the werecoyote to notice her heart beginning to race, "Is that Brett?" The blonde questions, placing her books into her bag.

"Maybe," Elena answers, texting the Talbot boy back while the werecoyote scans over her friend's features, watching as a smile spreads across her lips and her heartbeat increasing as she typed.

The dirty blonde shrugs with a smirk on her face, "What did he say?" She questions, nosing her way into the girl's love life.

"He was wondering if I was going to the game tonight," The Calavera girl tells her new friend, making the two girls smile as they look at one another.

The Tate girl shuts her locker before facing the huntress, "So what's going on with you two?"

"Whats going on with Elena and who?" Stiles asks, butting into the girls conversation from sneaking up behind them.

"Brett," Malia tells him, causing the Stilinski boy to do a slight nod, remembering what his girlfriend had told him about the huntress and the certain werewolf.

"We are just good friends guys, sorry to disappoint but nothing has happened," She tells them, both of them looking slightly disappointed and at the same time not believing what she just said. "Besides, we're from two different worlds, it would never work."

Stiles shrugs his shoulders to the huntress's comment while also shaking his head, "If two people are meant to be, then they'll find each other eventually."

The Calavera girl simply nods, taken back by the human boy's statement, his words replaying in the back of her mind as memories of her and Brett play. The brunette wanted to deny and push down any and all feelings she had been having for the Talbot boy, however, deep down she knew she was beginning to like him, and now so was everyone else. Malia swings her arm over the brunette's shoulders as the group began to walk towards the school's parking lot to find Stiles's jeep to head over to his house.

A couple of hours had passed and now the three teenagers were studying silently in Stiles's room, Malia and Elena sitting on his bed while Stiles was at his desk. A knock on the door catches the groups attention, all of them looking up to see Sheriff Stilinski in the door way, "Drop what you're doing. I'm taking you three out to dinner. Whatever you want."

Stiles slowly puts his hands in his lap as he looks at his father who made his way into the middle of the room, "Dad, I don't think a man of your debts should be treating anyone to anything."

"Well, there's one debt we no longer have to worry about," His dad tells him, holding up an envelope towards his son, causing the two girls to share a look of shock and surprise.

"What is that?" Stiles questions, taking the envelope from his father's grasp and looking it over.

"A letter of apology from Eichen House. Apparently, they've decided to forgive our debt due to you and Lydia almost getting murdered."

Malia raises her eyebrows, "They can do that?"

"They can do it and they did it," Sheriff Stilinski says, a smile spreading across his mouth once he finishes.

"I have never been so happy to have almost been murdered," Stiles comments, making Elena slightly laugh.

Stiles places the letter back onto his desk, looking up at his dad while he begins to speak, "Well, we're not out of it yet, but we're going to be okay." The two Stilinski's smile at one another before his father continues, "And at least for the moment, I can afford to take my son, his girlfriend, and friend out to dinner." The three teenagers begin to shut their textbooks as Sheriff Stilinski turns to face his son's girlfriend, "Malia, what's your favorite food?"

"Deer," She answers, earning a shocked look on Noah Stilinski's face in which made Elena giggle.

Stiles turns to see his father expression before correcting his girlfriend, "Pizza. She likes pizza." The blonde smiles at the three standing in which they all return.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

The lights over the lacrosse field switch on, revealing both teams warming up for tonight's big game. Elena, Malia, and Sheriff Stilinski make their way over towards the bleachers, sitting in the front row of the stands. The huntress spots a certain werewolf, waving in her direction in which causes her to return the gesture.

"Stiles told me he's been practicing," Malia tells the group, causing the Sheriff to smile out of politeness.

Elena shakes her head at the girl's comment, "That doesn't mean anything." She informs them, causing Stiles's dad to sigh as the brunette scanned the field, "Besides Scott and Kira aren't here either."

"So what does that mean? We're gonna lose?" She questions back, watching as each team began warming up. Elena shrugs her shoulders in response, unsure of how this game was going to play out.

The game continued on, and as expected Stiles sucked. Any chance he had the ball in his possession Devonford Prep managed to steal it and score, so now the score was 4-0, and of course, Beacon Hills was the one with 0. Stiles began walking over after a discussion with Liam, "Scott and Kira aren't answering their phones which means something is definitely going on."

"Want us to stay here if he shows up?" His girlfriend asks, motioning to the huntress sitting beside her.

The human boy nods, "Yeah, Marcos and I are going to go with my dad to check it out." He tells her, pecking his girlfriend cheek before rushing off.

Just as Stiles, his dad, and Marcos left, Beacon Hills managed to steal the ball from Devonford Prep, taking it all the way to their goal only to lose it again. The crowd groan in unison, disappointment and frustration written all over their faces due to their team losing incredibly bad. Brett was the one with the ball, running down the middle of the field, with four teammates surrounding him.

Liam ran forward to face off with the other werewolf, however, he stopped in the middle of the field like a deer caught in front of headlights. "Liam! For the love of God, move!" Coach shouts out, his frustration laced in his voice.

Brett runs past Liam, an obvious cocky smile on his face as he takes the ball all the way to the goal, scoring yet another point for Devonford Prep. The Talbot boy looks over towards the huntress, a big smile on his face as he high fives his other teammates. Out of the corner of Elena's eye, she saw Peter Hale walk over to the two girls, sitting beside his daughter, "So, who's winning?" He questions, slowly turning his head to face Malia.

The huntress and werecoyote share a weird look before a loud collision on the field draws their attention away. Liam laid on the ground as Brett towered over him, both boys take off their helmets to look at one another. The boys talk between each other before Liam stands back up.

The referee jogs over to the pair of boys, his attention on Liam first, "Are you good to play?" The Dunbar boy nods, causing the referee to now face his attention towards the Talbot boy, "You plan on pulling something like that again?"

"Only if I have to," He answers, a smirk appearing onto his lips as he jogs to over to his team's bench.

Elena leans over to Malia, "I'll be right back." She tells her, grabbing her purse as she head down over towards the Talbot boy. "What the hell was that for?" She asks, pushing the boy in the shoulders as he stands up to face her.

The boy takes a step back, scoffing at the girl before answering, "Listen I was just trying to help. All I smelt was fear radiating off of him from across the field, I didn't want him to transform in the middle of the field for everyone to see." He explains himself, setting his stick and helmet on the bench beside him.

Elena nods at the boy's answer while also looking him over, his hair sticking to his forehead due to the sweat while his uniform made him look even hotter which the huntress of course would never admit, "Where's Scott and Kira?" Brett asks, snapping the brunette out of her thoughts.

She shrugs, "No idea, that's where Stiles, his dad, and Marcos went to go find out." The Talbot boy furrows his brows when Elena's phone begins to ring. "It's my brother" She tells him, answering the phone immediately, just as the referee blew the final whistle, signaling the game was over.

"Meet us at Derek's loft," He tells her, causing the huntress to respond with an immediate okay and hang up.

"What's wrong?" Brett asks, noticing the huntress's heart rate speeding up during the phone call.

"I have to go meet my brother and Stiles at Derek's place," She explains, putting her phone in her purse before continuing, "I'll talk to you later," She tells him before running back over to Malia who was now alone, no Peter Hale in sight.

The girls ran to Elena's car, and quickly drove over to the Hale loft, running into Marcos, Stiles and Sheriff Stilinski as they all walked in. The group looked around at the mess, seeing all of the broken furniture and windows, "What the hell happened?"

Derek turns back to face them, "It was supposed to be a date."

"They were both here?" Elena asks, her voice laced with fear and curiosity.

Braeden nods, "And they're both gone."

Before anyone can say anything else, Stiles's phone began to ring. He pulls the device out from his back pocket, immediately answering once he saw who it was, Lydia. "Hey," He says into the phone, putting it on speaker so everyone else can hear.

"Scotts been taken," Lydia states, causing everyone to look around at one another.

"Scott and Kira. We just don't know where," Stiles informs her, looking at Derek as he spoke.

To everyone's surprise, Deaton speaks up on the other line, "Mexico. And if you want to save his life, that's where you're going to."

Stiles hangs up the phone, making the group look at each other as Marcos spoke towards his sister, "Looks like we're going home."

"Home sweet home," Elena murmurs, causing Malia to glance at the huntress in sympathy, having a bad feeling on what was going to happen next with the twins and their family.
