CHAPTER SIXTEEN:
JEALOUSLY, JEALOUSLY
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

The huntress stares at the floor as memories of the men in the masks flood her mind. When she was younger, she used to have the worst nightmares. Nightmares so terrible, she sometimes never went back to sleep. And it was always the same nightmare, over and over again.

She was laid out and chained to a metal table as these three men in metal masks stood over her, poking and prodding at her with their tools. Elena could've sworn the nightmares were real, especially after waking up with needle marks, cuts, and bruises. However, her grandmother and father told her she was just dreaming, that there was nothing to worry about. The huntress believed them, well, up until now.

Marcos, Scott, Stiles, Deaton, Sheriff Stilinski, and Brett all come rushing down into the basement. The Calavera boy immediately notices his sister sitting up against the wall, tears falling from her eyes. The rest of the group stops to see Tracy Stewart's lifeless body, lying directly in front of her. Marcos wastes no time before running over to his sister, "Are you okay? Elena? What happened?" He questions, kneeling down to be eye-level with her.

Elena looks her brother in the eyes, noticing the worry that was radiating from them, "It wasn't me, Marcos. You have to believe me, okay? I didn't do this." She tells him, catching the rest of the pack's attention.

"What the hell happened to her?" Sheriff Stilinski asks while Marcos helps his sister back onto her feet.

Elena shakes her head, tear stains visible on her cheeks, "There were these people. They had masks. There were three of them, I think." She says, making eye contact with the pack as she spoke.

"What are you talking about?" Stiles questions, confused on what the huntress was saying as Brett walks over towards the Calavera girl, putting his jacket over her shoulders.

Elena ignores the boy's question, "They're strong. They had a weapon. Guys, I didn't do this." She pleads, the group looking at her with mixed emotions.

Marcos nods, "It's okay, we believe you." He reassures her, rubbing her shoulders to calm her down.

"She's not changing back. We're going to need to get her out of here," Deaton announces, hovering over Tracy's body to inspect it closely.

Sheriff Stilinski steps forward, "What? Hey, absolutely not. This is a crime scene. We call the coroner." He instructs, making the veterinarian furrow his eyebrows while looking up at the older Stilinski.

"I think the coroner might be very confused by this girl's severed reptilian tail," Deaton deadpans, trying to convince the Sheriff to let him take Tracy's body.

However, Sheriff Stilinski still disagrees, shaking his head left and right before he spoke, "I don't care."

"You should, unless you're prepared to hold a press conference announcing the presence of supernatural creatures in Beacon Hills," Deaton
replies, catching the Sheriff off guard with his argument.

"Dad, he's right," Stiles tells his father, looking him in the eye as he spoke.

Elena holds onto her brother's arm, still clearly shaken up after what happened. Scott looks down at Tracy's body before speaking up, "Maybe at the clinic we can figure out how to change her back, then call the coroner."

"There's a line. There is a line that we have to draw," Sheriff Stilinski states, putting his hand on his forehead, clearly stressed out over the current situation.

Stiles places a hand on his father's shoulder, "Dad, you've already crossed it. More than once."

"Sheriff please, let me help. I've dealt with things like this before," Deaton pleads at one last attempt to get the older Stilinski to change his mind.

Sheriff Stilinski shakes his head, deciding whether or not to bend his morals one more time, "Just do it fast." He tells them, making Scott and Deaton pick the Stewart girl's body up and carry her out of the room with Sheriff Stilinski and Stiles not too far behind.

Brett turns his attention back towards the Calavera's, "We should go check on Lydia." He tells them, earning a nod from Marcos as he takes his sister's hand, pulling her out of the basement while the Talbot boy follows behind them.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Elena sits next to Malia and Theo, anxiously waiting for news regarding the banshee. Brett and Marcos stood next to her while Kira and Stiles stood in front of them. Melissa McCall comes walking over towards the group, "Stiles." She announces, catching everyone's attention and making Theo, Elena, and Malia stand up.

The Stilinski boy turns around, "How bad is it?"

"Could have been worse. Theo, nice going on that tourniquet. You probably saved her life," Melissa tells the group as Scott and Liam join the huddle.

Melissa turns around to face her son, "Alright, she's about to go into surgery. So it's going to be a while. Any other supernatural details that I need to know about, or do we just stitch her up and hope for the best?" She asks, looking around at the group of teenagers as she spoke.

"It was the tail," Kira tells her, making the McCall boy nod before stepping forward.

"Yeah, Tracy cut her with the tail if that makes a difference," He says, earning a nod from his mom.

"Okay," She mumbles before walking off to the surgical room.

Once Melissa had left, Elena spoke up, "But it wasn't just Tracy, there were the others." She reminds the group, earning looks amongst the pack,"The guys in the masks?" She adds, looking at everyone's faces as they look at her with disbelief.

Breaking the tension was Theo who walked over towards the huntress, "Why don't I take you and your brother home to get some rest?" He asks, putting his hand on the girl's shoulder. Brett inhales sharply, looking at the boy's hand on the Calavera girl's shoulder, catching the rest of the group's attention, except for the huntress.

Elena slowly nods at Theo's statement before pulling off Brett's jacket. She turns to face the Talbot boy, handing him his jacket, "Thanks." She mumbles as he accepts it.

"Are you sure you want this guy to take you home? I mean like, do you even know him that well?" Brett asks, causing the huntress to look back at her brother and Theo as they stood by the elevator, waiting for her. "I just want you to be safe," He tells her, making the Calavera girl turn her head back to look at him.

Her eyes drifting to his lips before awkwardly looking down at the floor, "I'll be okay. Marcos will be with me, and if anything happens, I'll call you." She reassures him, offering him a soft smile in which he returns. After the Talbot boy slowly nods in response, Elena walks over towards her brother and Theo. A feeling consumes the werewolf as he watches the huntress leave with the Raeken boy, a feeling he sure as hell has never felt before, especially over a girl, jealousy.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Elena sat in her usual seat in AP Biology, looking over at the banshee's empty seat as Mrs.Finch finishes writing up on the board, "If 99.9% of our DNA sequence is the same as other humans, what could account for the missing 0.1% difference?" She asks, turning back to face the classroom full of students. "Theo?" She calls out, pointing at the boy while he lifts his head.

Elena looks back at the Raeken boy, waiting for his answer, "Um, nucleotides."

"That's right," Mrs.Finch tells him, nodding her head before seeing the Yukimura girl's raised hand, "Yes, Kira?"

"Can there be more than one species in the same DNA?" She questions, looking her teacher in the eyes.

"No, but there can be multiple sets of DNA in the same individual. We call that a chimera. Anyone know where that term comes from?" Mrs.Finch asks, scanning the classroom before calling on a brunette girl that sat behind Elena, "Sydney?"

"Greek mythology. It's a lion with a goat coming out of its back, and a tail that ends in the head of a snake," She answers, sounding like she was reading off of the internet.

"That's right, Sydney. Do you want to read us the full Wikipedia entry off your phone?" Mrs.Finch questions, making Sydney put her phone back onto her desk, clearly embarrassed from what just happened. "But that does get us into the next topic of mutation. As you know from the reading, DNA is a fragile molecule." She continues before her eyes land upon the McCall boy, who was staring down at his paper, "Isn't it, Scott? Or did you miss last night's assigned reading?"

"Kind of," He admits, looking her the eyes as Kira and Elena look at him.

"Kind of or yes?" Mrs.Finch responds clearly not happy with his answer.

Scott slowly nods, "Mostly yes."

"Well, then thank you for another helpful transition in topic. Drop forms, all those now acutely aware that they do not belong in this class you should fill one out." Mrs.Finch tells the students, handing out a couple before walking back over to the front of the classroom, "The rest will be on my desk." She finishes as the bell rings, signaling class was over.

Elena gathers her things before making her way over to Kira and Scott. However, before the three leave, the alpha stops at Mrs.Finch's desk, looking down at the drop forms. The huntress and kitsune share a look as Scott picks up the form and walks over towards the girl's.

Nobody said anything about it as the three made their way to the library, understanding why the true alpha had picked up the form. They sat at an empty table upstairs, patiently waiting on their other friends to arrive. A few moments later, Marcos, Stiles, and Malia walk up the stairs, "Did you get in to see Lydia?" Scott asks, turning his head and noticing the three heading towards them.

"No, I tried using my free period, but she's still in the ICU, and no one outside family is allowed in," Stiles informs the group, standing next to the alpha while Malia stood next to him and Marcos stood next to his sister.

"We got one thing," Marcos tells them, placing a huge book down in the middle of the table, the Beastiary.

The group of teens lean in to look through the book, almost looking like the Scooby Doo gang, trying to solve this mystery. "Anything in here about half-werewolves and half-kanima's?" Kira questions, flipping the pages of the book slowly.

"Chimera," Scott mumbles, gaining everyone's attention as they look at the McCall boy.

Stiles's furrows his eyebrows, making eye contact with his best friend before he spoke, "Um, what?"

"Chimera, it's a creature made of incongruous parts, and if Liam and Elena said they found two burial sites that means Tracy's not the only one." Scott replies, looking amongst his friends.

"Who's the second Chimera?" Marcos asks, snapping the Calavera girl out of her thoughts.

Stiles's nods before adding, "And why would they bury them?"

"Deaton thinks it's part of their process," Scott informs the pack, gaining Elena's attention before she spoke.

"The people in masks," She mumbles, keeping her head down and reading the pages in the Beastiary. However, there was a page that caught her attention. It was a drawing of a woman with messy brown hair, glowing red eyes, and glowing red hands. The huntress could feel the energy, flowing through her body as her eyes read the name of the creature she was staring at, The Harbinger of Chaos. Or also known as, The Scarlet Witch.

▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

Elena sits on her bed with her computer, trying to find anything related to the Scarlet Witch. The brunette was intrigued about the creature, desperately wanting to know more about it. However, during her intense researching, she didn't notice her brother stepping into her room, "What are you doing?" He questions, making the huntress quickly shut her laptop as she looks up at the Calavera boy.

"Nothing, why?" She says as he walks over to the girl's closet, pulling out a simple white top and a red leather jacket, "Uh, what's going on?" She asks, picking up the two articles of clothes while her brother moves over towards her dresser.

He pulls out a black mini skirt, tossing it at his sister before answering, "We are going out to this new club. Because after everything that's happened in the last 24 hours, we need a night to just let loose and have fun." He tells her, grabbing her black knee high boots and putting them in front of her. "Be ready in 30 minutes because that's how long you have until Mason and Liam get here," He finishes, shutting her bedroom door and leaving before the Calavera girl could protest. Elena sighs, knowing Marcos was right. Nothing bad could happen tonight, right?

She slowly pulls herself out of bed and began getting ready. The Calavera girl wore the outfit her brother had picked out for her, and curled her hair as the finishing touch. After thirty minutes, Marcos heard a knock from their front door. "Elena let's go!" The Calavera boy shout as the huntress sprays her perfume.

The Calavera girl steps out of her bedroom, all three boys staring at her as she does so. Their eyes widen while Liam swallows the lump in the back of his throat. "I do know how to pick an outfit," Marcos says, swinging his arm over the beta, looking at his flustered state before asking, "Don't I Liam?"

The Dunbar boy quickly looks away, "You look nice." He tells her, making the group laugh at the boy's attempt to flirt.

"Who's ready to have some fun?" Mason asks, earning smiles from everyone as Elena grabs her purse to follow the boys out towards Mason's car.

Liam awkwardly shuffles to get the huntress's door, "You can sit in the front." He tells her, holding the door open and smiling at the girl.

Elena squeezes the boy's cheek before sitting down in the passenger seat. Once she was in, the beta shut the door and began to open his door, but before he could get in Marcos spoke up, "What about my door Liam?" He jokes, causing the Dunbar boy to roll his eyes as him and Mason laugh.

The drive to the Sinema was filled with singing and dancing to Mason's 2000 playlist, making the group completely forget about everything they had going on. The four teenagers walk up to the back of the building as Mason notices his best friend constantly checking his phone, "Can you put your phone away for five minutes? Scott can howl if he needs you."

Liam sighs before putting his phone in his back packet, "I just feel like I should be doing something."

"You are," The Hewitt boy tells him, turning around to face the beta and making the twins do the same. "You're my wingman tonight. And considering the state of my dating life, I need a wingman, co-pilot, and a really hot flight attendant."

"Dibs on co-pilot," Marcos says, raising his hand and earning a laugh from Mason.

The Dunbar boy ignores the previous comment made by the hunter, "I'm definitely not your hot flight attendant."

Mason slowly nods, "Okay, yeah, choices are limited, but at least here, you can get drunk."

Elena throws her arm over Liam, letting him know everything was going to be okay as they made it to the back door entrance. The door quickly opens, revealing the brunette hair girl the huntress had briefly met when Tracy had gripped onto her arm. The girl rolls her eyes as she stares at Liam, "I said I'd let you guys in. Not him."

"You said I could have a plus one," Mason reminds her, causing the girl to look directly at the beta before replying.

"I didn't say plus Liam," She bluntly states, earning a confused look on the huntress's face, not knowing what this girl's problem was.

Liam shrugs his shoulders before quickly shouting out, "I'm his flight attendant."

"What?" The brunette girl questions back with furrowed eyes brows, obviously not understanding what he meant.

"Wingman," He corrects before looking at the group and turning around to leave, "Forget it, I don't have to go in."

"No, you're coming, okay?" Mason says, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him back. "How about all of us plus fifty." He reasons, holding a fifty dollar bill in the girl's direction.

The girl sighs before kicking the door open wider and putting in a fake smile, "Welcome to Sinema."

Mason leads the group, pushing back a few dangling beads to reveal strobes lights flashing as numerous people were dancing. The group smiles at one another before heading further into the building, watching as everyone enjoys themselves dancing to the loud music. Liam sighs as the group comes to a stop, "We don't look old enough to be here."

Marcos and Elena smile brightly, remembering their old club back home while Mason looks out into the crowd of people, "Neither does he."

The group turns their heads to see who the Hewitt boy was pointing at to see none other than Brett Talbot. However, he wasn't alone. Instead, he was dancing with some brunette girl as she moves her hands up and down his body. Elena felt her body tense up, her eyes focusing on the werewolf in front of her. Seriously, was all she could think.

Marcos puts a hand on his sister's shoulder, but she immediately shakes it off. "I'm fine. It's not like we're together or anything, right?" She says, which he obviously didn't believe, but before he can say anything, she grabs a hold of some random guy. "Wanna dance?" She asks, earning an immediate nod as he pulls her towards the dance floor.

The huntress felt her body move along with the music, reminding her of all the times she danced in her father's club. A sad smile forming on her lips while memories from her past came into her mind. Elena closes her eyes, trying to shake it off, but it only makes things worse when she pictures the three guys in metal masks. The Calavera girl stumbles back, causing the guy to grab her by the waist and pulling her closer. She puts one hand to her head while the other tries pushing his chest, signaling she wanted space. "Let go," She mumbles, trying to get out of his grasp as a dizzy feeling began to consume her.

Just as she was about to repeat herself, a familiar voice speaks up, "She said let go." Elena looks up to see the Talbot boy, standing tall with his fist clenched at his sides. The guy immediately got the hint and walked away, not wanting to get his ass kicked. The huntress begins to gain control of herself again, the dizziness slowly going away. "You okay?" Brett questions, catching the girl's attention which makes her pick her head up to look at him.

"Yeah, I'm fine," She tells him, a hint of anger lingering in her voice.

But before Brett can ask about it, Liam and Marcos approach the two of them, "Hey, did you happen to smell a supernatural scent just a minute ago?" The beta questions towards the other werewolf, causing Elena to furrow her eyebrows at what was going on.

"No, I didn't catch anything," The Talbot boy answers, shaking his head as he spoke.

"No one else in here is like us?" Liam questions back, confusing the twins at what he could of possibly smelt to make him feel like this.

Brett shrugs, "I don't know dude, maybe. It's Beacon Hills. What's the difference?" He asks as the group stares at the crowd of people around them.

"It felt different," The Dunbar boy tells them, catching their attention at what he meant.

"Different how?" Elena asks, making all eyes fall onto Liam.

He slowly shakes his head, "It felt off. It felt wrong." He mumbles before walking off and trying to find out where that scent was coming from.

Elena watches as the beta leaves while Mason walks up to the Talbot boy, "Hey, uh, do you see that guy? He keeps looking over here. Do you know him?" He asks, pointing at a guy standing across from them who was looking directly over at the group, the Hewitt boy in particular.

"Yeah, that's Lucas," Brett answers, nodding his head as Mason smiles, looking at the boy in front of them.

Mason pats the Talbot boy's shoulder, "I'll be right back." He tells the group, walking over towards Lucas and leaving Marcos, Elena and Brett by themselves.

"Yeah, I'm not dealing with whatever this is," Marcos tells the pair, pointing at both of them before walking off.

Elena sighs, watching the crowd dance amongst them as the two stood in an awkward silence. Remembering what she had saw the moment she entered the Sinema, "That girl you were dancing with earlier was pretty." She says, trying to gain information on who the other brunette was.

Brett quickly turns his head to look at the huntress, shocked to hear those words fall from her lips. He tries to read the look on her face, noticing her lips were pursed, and her eyebrows were furrowed, it almost seemed like she was upset. "She wasn't you," He mumbles, catching the huntress's attention, but before she can say anything the werewolf quickly snaps his head around.

"Brett? What's wrong?" She asks, noticing his sudden mood change.

The boy takes the Calavera girl's hand, pulling her through the crowd of drunk teenagers and ending up in a secluded area where she saw Mason kissing Lucas. However, it wasn't the same Lucas from before. Instead, he had spikes sticking out from his arms and neck while his eyes were completely black.

Brett immediately runs over, pulling Lucas away from the Hewitt boy and tossing him to the opposite side of the room. His eyes glew a familiar golden color as he turns his head back to look at Elena and Mason, "Run! Go find the others!" He tells them, looking directly at the huntress as he spoke.

However, before the two can get out of the room, Lucas lunges at the Calavera girl, making Brett immediately step in front of her, blocking his attack. Lucas grabs the werewolf by the throat, pushing him into the metal bar which causes the huntress to pull out her secret dagger that was hidden in her boot and slice Lucas's arm. This allows the Talbot boy to kick his chest, sending him stumbling back.

Once Lucas catches his footing, he pushes Elena into the metal bar, making her hit her head hard. Mason runs over towards the huntress, helping her up while Brett throws punches back at Lucas. However, Lucas begins to swing his arm with the spikes sticking out towards the werewolf, landing a hit on the Talbot boy's stomach, ripping through his shirt and slicing it open.

Brett slides against the wall, clutching his stomach as Lucas brings his arms together to finish him off. Thankfully, Liam and Marcos come in, the werewolf going after Lucas and tackling him while the hunter runs over to check on his sister. Elena gives her brother a look, letting him know she was okay before crawling over towards the werewolf. She looks at his wound, a gasp escapes her mouth when she see's the blood and poison mix together.

As the fight between the two supernatural creatures went on, Lucas ends up on top of the beta, pinning him down just as Theo, Scott, and Kira rush in. "You're a little late!" Liam shouts, making Scott and Theo immediately jump into action while Kira pulls back her sword.

Scott tries standing his ground with Lucas, but fails, when he is tossed to the side. Next is Liam, who throws and lands a couple of punches until he is thrown towards the back of the room. Then Theo gives it a try, dodging all of Lucas's attacks before he actually ends up landing a hit. However, this enrages the boy, causing him to pick the Raeken boy up by his shoulders and chuck him next to Liam.

Finally is Kira, who uses her sword against Lucas, hitting and hurting him in all of the right spots. Elena would've been proud of the kitsune if she wasn't so tense right now. "What the hell is that thing?" Brett asks, watching Lucas and Kira continue their fight.

The Calavera girl shakes her head, "I don't know." She tells him as Kira kicks Lucas towards the back of the room where he is grabbed by Liam and Theo who instantly pick him up and throw him down onto the ground.

A fiery fox begins to consume the kitsune, shining bright all around and illuminating the room. The Yukimura girl had a look on her face that Elena had never seen, making the huntress look at Scott who was equally as confused. Kira pulls her sword back while hovering over Lucas, she begins to speak Japanese as she throws her sword up and brings it down to impale him. However, the alpha immediately steps in, catching the girl's hand and yelling at her to get her attention, "Kira!"

The Yukimura girl quickly turns her head to look at her boyfriend. The fiery fox that glew around her, fading away as she came back to her senses. Everyone stares at the kitsune with wide eyes and open mouths, not knowing what to say or do. "Is everyone okay?" Scott finally asks, looking amongst his friends and earning a nod from all of them. "We need to get him out of here. Liam, give me a hand?" He questions, making the beta immediately pick up Lucas's feet while the alpha got his arms.

However, surprising the group was an arrow that was shot from above, landing directly in Lucas's heart and killing him almost instantly. Elena stands up to see who the shooter was as the arrow is dragged back, her eyes widening while she looks at the three men from her nightmares. "Why did you do that?" She questions, yelling at the men as the rest of the pack stares up at them, still trying to understand what just happened.

"His condition was terminal," One of them announces, causing the huntress to furrow her eyebrows as she remembers when they had said the same thing about Tracey.

Scott steps forward, this time yelling at the three as he stood next to the Calavera girl, "What does that mean?" He asks, not earning an answer and making Elena angry that they didn't say anything.

"What does that mean?" She repeats, shouting up at the three men, her voice cracking as she did so.

"Failure," He tells them, creating sparks to fly around the three of them, disappearing into thin air. Elena felt a surge of emotion run through her body almost as if magic was flowing through her veins. A feeling she had never felt before, until now.
