CHAPTER FIVE:
THE KILL OF THE NIGHT

THE NIGHT CONTINUED as the Macher household would be loud and then quiet as many of the teenagers had left already after learning about the new death of their principal. Only a couple of vehicles could be seen outside of the house, though they were both parked and pretty much empty as everyone was inside.
Stu's parents bedroom was quiet as a couple could be seen inside, the bed now a mess after they had had fun on it. Billy could be seen on the floor, his pants back on as he flipped his shirt back to the other side. Sidney was facing him as she fixed her jacket, sitting on the edge of the bed, neither of them saying a word.
"You okay?" Billy speaks up, breaking the silence.
As she responded, the brunette reached over and grabbed a hairbrush that laid on the bedside table that stood beside her, using it to brush her hair and get all the knots and tangles out. When she placed it back down, her eyes stopped on the phone right beside it.
"Who'd you call?" Sidney curiously asks, receiving a hum in confusion as she pulled her shoes back on. "Well, I don't know, when you're arrested you're allowed one phone call, so I was just curious-- who'd you call?"
"Called my dad." Billy replies after a moment.
Sidney shakes her head. "No, Sheriff Burke called your dad. I saw him."
Billy sighs. "Yeah, but when I called I didn't get an answer."
Thinking over it for a moment, the girl hums as she finally pulls her second shoe on. At the sound of this, Billy felt himself come to a stop from tying his shoelaces as he stared at the back of her head with suspicious eyes.
"You don't still think it was me, do you?" Billy seriously questions.
Sidney chuckles, turning to face him. "No. I was just thinking, if it were you it'd be a very clever way to throw me off track. You know, using your one phone call to call me so I wouldn't think it was you."
"Really?" Billy murmurs, getting off the floor to lean closer to her. "What do I have to do to prove to you that I'm not a killer?"
The two stare at one another just as the door behind Billy opens and someone was entering. Sidney noticed when the person was right behind Billy, frantically rushing to her feet as she yelled out 'oh my god', only making Billy more annoyed as he waited for her answer. However, the girl was quick to warn who was behind him.
Billy turned around just in time for the murderer to begin stabbing him when they raised the knife, wearing the usual ghostface costume. Sidney let out a scream as the murderer stabbed her boyfriend while she watched in terror. Billy let out many grunts and groans of pain, hunching over with each stab.
When he spun back around to face the brunette, blood laid all over his white t-shirt and his hands. The couple reached out to one another, tears falling down Sidney's face while Billy panted out her name before he finally collapsed onto the messy bed. Teary eyes looking back at the murderer, she watched as they wiped the blood from their knife before lunging at her.
She was quick to climb over the bed and over Billy's dead body, speeding out of the room and closing the door behind her, locking it. Moving through another room and in the direction of the stairs, she felt relief fill her at the sight of Y/n sprinting up the stairs, blood laying on her shirt. Both girls felt relief at the sight of each other.
"Y/n!" Sidney exclaims, wrapping her arms around her. "The killer's here! He's in the house! He just killed Billy!"
Y/n shakily nods, tears falling from her eyes. "I know! I-I found Stu! I couldn't tell if he was alive."
Immediately, the girl began sobbing in fear as they held one another. However, she stopped when the murderer ran through a door and straight to them before they could move down the stairs. Frantically, Sidney grabbed Y/n's hand as they sprinted back into the room she had just gone through, moving to close the door.
Unfortunately, the murderer was right at the door and instead of slamming it in front of him, Sidney slammed the door right in his face, making him fall to the floor. Noticing an opened door, Y/n pulled the brunette inside before slamming the door shut. Sidney grabbed a surfboard, moving it in front of the door, blocking the killer from getting them.
When they spun around, a curse left Y/n when she realized they were in the attic and there wasn't another way out. Sidney was the first to rush more inside, stopping at a closed window where she saw a van parked close to the house. She recognized it as Gale Weathers' van and in hopes of anyone being inside, she began banging on the window and screaming for help.
The sound of Y/n calling out her name caught her attention, the Walker girl pulling a window open just as the killer was able to push the door open enough to swing his arm through the crack, peaking inside. Y/n was quick to crawl out of the window, ushering Sidney to follow as she stood on her boyfriend's roof, gripping the window sill.
Sidney didn't hesitate to follow, almost slipping when she fully stepped out. As best as she could, Y/n grabbed the brunette's hand, pulling her up before she'd fully fall off. Both girls began screaming towards the news van just when a hand reached out and grabbed Sidney's arm, causing her to scream out.
Just then, Y/n slipped as she let out a scream of fear but with her free hand, Sidney grabbed her hand as she struggled against the killer's grip. All of a sudden, both girls were falling down and off the roof, landing on the padding that was wrapped around the boat in the driveway. The killer poked his head out, watching as they rolled off the boat.
Y/n stumbled to her feet, frantically pulling Sidney to her feet. While the brunette looked back at the window, noticing the killer wasn't there anymore, Y/n looked somewhere else and at the dead body right in front of them. She felt her entire body freeze, eyes widening at the sight of the body, her panting turning shaky.
"S-Sid." Y/n shakily whispers.
Sidney only follows her gaze to see Tatum's dead body hanging inside the doggy door of the garage, which was wide open. The realization that Tatum had been there the entire time when they were looking for her made Sidney's body lurch, the feeling of throwing up everything inside of her becoming stronger.
Before she could do that, Y/n tugged on her hand as they ran off. Their screams echoed throughout the yard as they sprinted towards the news van, breaking through the fence. When they reached the van, they could see someone sitting inside. The cameraman jumped when Sidney slammed on the door, pulling it open.
"The killer's after us! He's in the house!" Sidney cries out, slamming the door shut.
The cameraman points at the screen beside them. "There's a camera in the house. Look."
Following where he was pointing, they watch as the camera showed Randy slouched on the couch in the living room while he spoke to the television screen, repeating the words 'behind you' when referring to the horror film he was watching. However, he didn't even notice the killer quietly coming up behind him.
When the killer raised their knife, the cameraman rushed out of the van, freezing as his eyes stopped on the front door that was now wide open. The realization that it was a thirty second delay reminded him as he spun back around, watching on the screen as the killer moves out of the room, Randy still alive and still having not noticed.
Just when he turned back to face the house, the killer jumped right in front of him, the blade slicing right across his throat. As the blood poured from his neck, he let out gargle sounds while he slowly faced the teenagers, collapsing to the ground as his life left him. Just when the killer lunged, both girls pulled at the door.
The knife was able to stab Sidney right in the arm before the door closed, blocking the killer from getting them for a moment. Y/n was the first to crawl towards the hole at the back of the van, pushing many stuff out of the way with Sidney right behind her. Once they were both out, Y/n pulled her to her feet as they rushed away.
For a little moment, they had been able to get away and reach the road that led towards the house when they noticed the news van was now driving down it. Sidney didn't hesitate to step in the middle of the road, waving her hands in hopes of getting the person to stop so her and Y/n could get inside.
However, the person inside swerved, crashing off road and through the fence and through the trees. Y/n let out cries as she stumbled towards Sidney, ushering to get to the house. Sidney didn't argue as they speeded towards the house, seeing Dewey's car still parked outside, which is when they began calling out to the police officer.
When they reached the front of the house, the front door was pulled open, revealing Dewey standing there. They felt relief at the sight of him, though that didn't last long when he stumbled to his knees, revealing the knife in his back. Y/n let out a weeping sob when the killer stepped out, grabbing the knife from his back and wiping the blood off.
As he began chasing after them again, Y/n followed Sidney's lead by jumping into the passenger's seat of Dewey's car, locking the door before the killer could pull the door open. As he rushed around to Sidney's side where she sat on the driver's seat, she rolled the window up before locking her door.
The brunette's bloody hand moved to the keyhole, though she didn't feel the keys anywhere. The killer tapped on the window with his blade before holding up the keys, revealing he had them. Suddenly, he ducked, to which the girls frantically looked around. When the locks on their doors unlocked again, they quickly pushed the locks back down.
They were too busy looking around for him and reaching over to lock the doors that they hadn't even noticed the trunk of the cop vehicle slowly opening. The leather of the seats creaked from underneath them, fearful eyes looking out the windows just when a voice came from the radio on the dashboard.
Sidney grabs the walkie, holding it to her lips. "Hello. Help me, please. I'm at Stu Macher's house on Turner Lane. It's 261 Turner Lane. Please, he's gonna try and kill us."
All of a sudden, the killer lunged straight to the girl and wrapped his hand around her neck. Y/n frantically grabbed his arm, pulling on it as his fingers loosened on Sidney's neck because of this. The Prescott girl quickly brought her legs up, kicking the murderer right in the face, which sent him falling back.
Frantically, she moved out of the door with Y/n doing the same, leaving the killer in the car. Sidney rushed around the vehicle as they headed back towards the front door, stopping a brief moment to look behind her to see the killer was now nowhere to be seen. At the sound of Y/n ushering her inside, Sidney sprinted to her just when a voice called out their names.
"Sidney! Y/n! Jesus, we've gotta get the fuck out of here!" Randy shouts as he limps towards them.
Sidney grabs Dewey's gun, aiming it right at her friend. "Stop right there!"
"Don't shoot. It's me! I found Tatum. She's dead." Randy yells out just as Stu could be seen running towards them. "I think Stu did it."
"Don't listen to him, guys! He killed Billy. He killed Tatum." Stu cries, grabbing Randy and throwing him down the stairs before holding his hands up towards them. "Sidney, please, give me that gun!"
Randy had been quick to get back to his feet, limping up the stairs while both boys shout for the girls. Stu looks to his girlfriend, his pleading eyes staring into her teary ones as he pleaded for her to listen to him all while she began backing up since Sidney stood in front of her and was backing up as well.
"Fuck you both!" Sidney exclaims.
Next thing they know, she was pushing Y/n inside before slamming the door on them just as Randy went to run and try to get in. Their muffled voices could be heard from the other side as they pleaded for them to open the door, though Sidney locked it as she shouted at them to go away. Y/n leaned against the wall, quiet cries leaving her.
The sound of grunts from upstairs caused them to spin around, Sidney's eyes widening in relief at the sight of Billy stumbling out of the room right at the top of the stairs. His pained eyes stop on his girlfriend as he called out her name just before he fell down the stairs. Sidney quickly rushed to him, helping him to his feet.
As they stumbled towards Y/n, who was still at the door, both girls quickly stopped him from trying to open it when he claimed they needed to get help. However, he was quick to assure them it was okay as he convinced Sidney to give him the gun. As he opened the door, Randy was immediately stepping through, pleading for help while Billy closed the door again.
"Stu's flipped out! He's gone mad!" Randy states.
Billy smirks, crazed eyes looking to him. "We all go a little mad sometimes."
Randy's eyes widen when the boy aimed the gun at him, pulling the trigger. He let out a cry of pain when the shot got him right in the shoulder, falling to his feet. Sidney rushed to Randy, who was now unconscious on the floor as Y/n stumbled back. Eyes full of tears, Sidney makes eye contact with her boyfriend as he licked the blood off his finger, the realization coming to her.
Billy hums. "Corn syrup. Same stuff they used for pig's blood in Carrie."
A quiet whimper leaving her, Sidney slowly took a few steps back as she shook her head before trying and running out of the room. However, she made contact with Stu's chest, who stood there in shock. After pleading for him to help them, Stu held up a voice recorder to his lips.
"Surprise, Sidney." Stu speaks into it, a smile etching on his face.
Sidney's eyes widened even more as she stumbled back, reaching for Y/n. However, just as her hand grabbed ahold the Walker girl's hand, she froze at the sound of laughing. Gaze snapping away from the two boys, her feared eyes looked to Y/n, who couldn't seem to be holding back her giggles.
Y/n smiles. "We really got you."
Immediately, Sidney dropped her hand as she looked back to Billy, who put on a shocked face as if mocking her. Letting out a grunt, the brunette rushed in Stu's direction, pushing past him and heading towards the back door. However, she stopped when Billy met her at the other entrance, aiming the gun at her. Stu tossed him the voice recorder.
Billy holds it up to his lips, smirking. "What's the matter, Sidney? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Why are you doing this?" Sidney cries, moving towards the counter.
"It's all part of the game, Sidney." Y/n replies.
"It's called 'guess how I'm gonna die'." Billy adds.
Sidney clenches her jaw. "Fuck you!"
"No, no. We already played that game, remember?" Billy reminds as he grabs the knife from Stu, aiming it at the girl. "You lost."
"It's a fun game, Sidney. See, we ask you a question, and if you get it wrong..." Stu begins as he aims the gun at her, letting out a shout. "...you die!"
"You get it right, you die." Y/n finishes with a shrug.
"You're crazy, all three of you." Sidney shakily breathes out.
Stu rests his chin on his girlfriend's shoulder. "Actually, we prefer the term 'psychotic'."
Sidney shakes her head. "You'll never get away with this."
Billy raises a brow. "Oh, no? Tell that to Cotton Weary. You wouldn't believe how easy he was to frame."
"Watch a few movies, take a few notes." Y/n states, smirking. "It was fun."
"Why?" Sidney cries out, slamming her hand against the counter. "Why did you kill my mother?"
"Why?" Billy repeats in a shout. "You hear that, guys? I think she wants a motive. I don't really believe in motive, Sid. I mean, did Norman Bates have a motive? Did they ever really decide why Hannibal Lecter liked to eat people? Don't think so! See, it's a lot scarier when there's no motive. We did your mom a favor, Sid. That woman was a slut-bag whore who flashed her shit all over town like she was Sharon Stone."
Stu chuckles. "Yeah, we put her out of her misery, cause let's face it, Sidney, your mother was no Sharon Stone."
Billy fiddles with the knife. "Is that motive enough for you? How about this? Your slut mother was fucking my father, and she's the reason my mom moved out and abandoned me. How's that for a motive?"
At this sudden news, the Prescott girl's eyes widened as she stared at the boy she had considered her boyfriend, his teary and hard eyes staring straight back at her. When she took a brief glance at Stu and Y/n, she could see they looked a bit shock as well, showing they had no idea about this either.
"Maternal abandonment causes serious deviant behavior." Billy continues. "It certainly fucked you up. It made you have sex with a psychopath."
"That's right. You gave it up. Now you're no longer a virgin." Stu reminds, placing his hand in front of his mouth in a mocking shock. "I said 'virgin'. Whoops!"
"Now you gotta die." Y/n calmly tells her, crossing her arms as Sidney tries to run again but Billy catches her. "Those are the rules."
Billy makes a gesture to Stu while playing with Sidney's hair. Stu suddenly gets excited, jumping up while placing the gun down behind him, claiming he'll be right back as he moves out of the kitchen. It only takes a few seconds before Stu was entering the kitchen again, now with a tied and beat up Neil Prescott.
Sidney goes to rush to her father, stopping when Billy stops her from doing so. The man looks up at his daughter, fear in his eyes as he silently pleaded with the two killers for them to not kill his daughter. They watch as Stu grabs the voice recorder, placing it in Neil's jacket pocket before Y/n adds the cellular with it, teasing the girl while doing so.
"Come on, Sidney. You think about it now, huh? Your daddy's the chief suspect. We cloned his cellular." Stu lists off, shoving the man to the floor. "Evidence is all right there, baby!"
"What if your father snapped? Your mother's anniversary set him off, and he went on a murder spree, killing everyone." Billy suggests.
"Except for Billy, Stu and me. We were left for dead." Y/n interrupts, tilting her head at the girl.
Billy points the knife at Sidney's chest. "Then he kills you and shoots himself in the head. Perfect ending."
"Stu thought of that." Y/n informs.
The said boy giggles as he wraps his arm around her, pressing a kiss to her cheek and then her neck. She leans her back against his chest, smiling mischievously as Sidney glares at the two of them. Billy slightly shoves her back towards the counter, holding the knife up as he moves towards the couple.
Stu unwraps his arms from his girl as he nods at Billy's question when he asked if he was ready. Sidney narrows her eyes as he brings his hands behind his head, shouting at Billy that he was ready before the Loomis boy stabbed the blade into his side. Stu hunched over in pain, his words strained as Billy turned to his best friend's girlfriend.
Y/n felt her nod was shaky as she held up her arms. A grunt of pain left her when she felt the knife stab through her skin, drawing blood that stained her t-shirt. Stu narrowed his eyes on Billy when his girlfriend hunched over in pain, lots of blood pouring out. Taking the knife from Billy, he nodded at the boy's instructions before stabbing him.
Billy let out curses in a shout, already giving demands as he took the knife back. Despite the pain, Stu smiled as he rambled on about sequels before Billy stabbed him a few more times, only causing more pain. The sound of blood dripping from their hands and the knife could be heard as it hit the wooden floor repeatedly.
"You sick fucks. You've seen one too many movies." Sidney sneers.
"Now, Sid, don't you blame the movies. Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative!" Billy shouts, stabbing Stu once more.
"Stop it, Billy!" Y/n demands. "He's had enough."
Stu lets out a cry of pain. "I feel a little woozy here!"
"Alright, Y/n, get the gun. Stu and I will untie pops, okay?" Billy instructs, not getting any responses. "Now!"
The couple only nod before Y/n moves to the table she had seen Stu place the gun down, clutching her side. She stops when she doesn't see the gun anywhere, calling out to her boyfriend to ask where it was. This makes Billy stomp over just when he hears a click. The killers all look over to see Gale standing there, aiming the gun right at Billy.
Y/n furrows her brows, glancing at her boyfriend. "Stu, I thought she was dead."
"She looked dead, baby. Still does." Stu replies.
"I've got an ending for you. The reporter left for dead in the news van comes to, stumbles on you three dipshits, finds the gun, foils your plan and saves the day." Gale tells them.
Sidney smiles. "I like that ending."
"I know something you don't." Billy whispers with a smirk.
As he stepped towards her, the reporter tried pulling on the trigger, though no bullets were coming out. Next thing she knew, Billy grabbed her hand before he kicked her roughly in the torso, sending her out the front door as her back slammed onto a pillar before her unconscious body landed right beside Dewey's.
Billy grabbed the gun, cocking it as he aimed it at Gale just when Stu noticed Sidney was missing from the kitchen. When he cursed, it caught the other two's attention as they followed his gaze. Y/n's eyes widened as they all rushed into the kitchen, glancing around in search of her, yet Sidney Prescott was nowhere to be seen.
Stu stopped, back leaning against the fridge, hunched over as he began coughing. Blood dripped out of his mouth, to which he quickly held his hand up as the blood dripped down on his hand. This caught Y/n's attention, but all three of them came to a stop when the phone began ringing. Panicked, Billy answered the phone.
"Are you alone in the house?" Sidney's voice comes through with the voice recorder.
Billy's eyes widen. "Bitch! You bitch! Where the fuck are you?"
"Not so fast. We're gonna play a little game. It's called 'guess who just called the police and reported your sorry motherfucking ass'." Sidney snaps as Stu sits down.
Billy aims the gun at Stu's head. "Find her, you dipshit. Get up."
"Fuck, Billy, he can't. You cut him too deep." Y/n tells him in frustration, crouched down beside her boyfriend.
"I think I'm dying here, man." Stu whines.
Taking a deep breath in anger, Billy only tells his partner to talk to the girl on the other side before he was moving around the room and into the next room, knife and gun in hand. Curiously, Stu puts the phone to his ear. Hesitantly, Y/n left him to look around the other room.
"Hello." Stu greets.
"Oh, Stu, Stu, Stu. What's your motive? Billy's got one. The police are on their way. What are you gonna tell them?" Sidney asks.
Stu gulps. "Peer pressure. I'm far too sensitive."
Billy grabs the phone again. "I'm gonna rip you up, you bitch, just like your fucking mother!"
"You've gotta find me first, you pansy-assed mama's boy!" Sidney replies.
In anger, Billy throws the phone towards Stu, which it hits him right in the head. The Macher boy complains in a shout as Billy begins moving around the house, destroying everything in anger while he searches for the girl he hated. On the other side, Y/n was searching as well, deciding to push stuff out of the way as she did so.
"Did you really call the police?" Stu curiously questions when he grabbed the phone again.
"You bet your sorry ass, I did." Sidney tells him.
"My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me." Stu cries.
As Billy seemed to stop shouting, Y/n found herself rushing upstairs in search of the girl, tauntingly calling out her name.Β However, the sound of commotion downstairs had her sprinting down, seeing Billy laying limp on the floor near Randy's body. Hearing noises from the living room, she was quick to move there.
Her heart stopped at the sight of Stu's now limp body laying right in front of Sidney with the television on top of his head, steam coming off of it. Sidney snapped her gaze up when she heard the Walker girl let out a shaky breath. Y/n's grip tightened on the knife she had grabbed before she let out a cry sound, speeding to the brunette.
Sidney was quick to rush off with Y/n right behind her. They reached the hallway where Billy and Randy's bodies were in, stopping near the front door when Y/n tackled Sidney to the floor. The two girls struggled as they rolled along the floor, the knife still in Y/n's grip. Eventually, Y/n was straddling the brunette's hips as she held the knife up.
"You bitch." Y/n sneers, panting heavily.
"I thought you were my friend." Sidney pants out, gripping Y/n's wrist from the hand that gripped her neck. "I trusted you. Tatum trusted you!"
Y/n chuckles. "Yeah, well, maybe you shouldn't have. That bitch was always trying to get with Stu early on in our relationship. You have no idea how good it felt to watch her die. And this is gonna feel so good, too. You're my kill of the night, Sid."
"Fuck you!" Sidney shouts.
Y/n went to slam the knife down against Sidney's chest, though the brunette was quick to grab her own hand with both of her hands, using all the strength she had to prevent the blade from going through her skin. She was able to roll them around until she was on top of Y/n, flipping the blade around until it was facing the killer.
Y/n's eyes widened and before she knew it, the blade stabbed right through her chest right near her heart. Her e/c eyes widened, blood coming up and near her mouth before she went limp underneath Sidney. Sidney stumbled up to her feet as she glared down at the girl she had considered her best friend.
Gargle sounds escaping her, Y/n stared up at her with wide eyes that were full of tears and shakily, she reached her hand up towards the brunette as if reaching out for her desperately. However, Sidney only took steps away from her as she kept her dark eyes on the other teenage girl.
Cough sounds left Y/n, her hand dropping as her head lolled to the side. And as the light left her eyes, she saw his hand reaching out for her, guiding her life away from earth. And the last thing she heard was Sidney's voice.
"Maybe you're my kill of the night."
