"you must really like me, if i made it onto the main feed." chris says as soon as mariah accepts the facetime call.

in all honesty, mariah didn't know why she added the picture to her post. it was risky. especially since she and chris have only be seeing each other for a few weeks.

but something told her that this time would be different. for one, she really really liked chris. he was the first guy to ever bring her 'just because' flowers.

they both have the same humor and interests. plus, he's sweet and asks about her day. he learned all the lyrics to her favorite song just so they could do car karaoke together. and he waits every night for her to call.

even though their relationship started all because chris flirted with her, they've genuinely become really good friends... that also kiss and occasionally flirt. but still a friendship too.

"nope, i just thought they were nice flowers. that's all." mariah ducks her head down a little, hiding her smitten look.

"that's all." chris mocks her.

"you shouldn't let it get to your head, christopher."

"oh i am absolutely never shutting up about it." chris shakes his head. "plus, you like me so much you're even wearing my hoodie."

mariah looks down to see that she is, in fact, wearing chris' hoodie. ever since he let her keep it after their first date, she had been looking at it hanging up in her closet for weeks until finally she gave in.

"wow, i didn't even know it was yours! what a coincidence."

chris now has a smug grin on his face, "it's okay, i gave it to you for a reason."

"well in that case, i guess it's only fair that i keep wearing it." mariah declares.

"of course." chris nods in agreement along with her.

he then notices the background change and mariah's walking outside now. "on your way to see me already?" he teases.

"no actually," mariah answers just as she's getting into her car. "i'm going to hangout with jordyn."

chris' face immediately drops. "boo, gross, ew." he puts a thumbs down in the camera.

"i know, i feel bad. us beings friends and then me and you... but you guys are exes." mariah slightly grimaces as the words come out.

"it's okay, really." chris lies. "i mean it is a little weird for me but you guys were friends first."

"honestly i'm gonna need a timeline on you guys dating. i'm still so confused."

chris doesn't really want to talk about jordyn. so instead he finds something to change the subject. he notices the music from the radio playing in the background, and mariah quietly humming along.

'well aware you are always mine'

'and still you seem so surprised'

'always gon' be mine'

"i feel like i've heard this song before." chris says to get away from the topic of his ex. it works.

"this is literally my favorite song ever right now, i've had it on repeat all month." mariah gasps.

"adding to my playlist as we speak!"

mariah giggles to herself. "i feel like you're the type of guy to make spotify playlists for every single mood you're in."

"pffftt no!" chris shakes his head. "i would never use spotify, apple music all the way."

"i knew it!"

"everyone has separate playlists for different vibes!"

mariah presses her lips together. "not me—"

"you're a psychopath." chris grasps at his neck, pretending to clutch his imaginary pearls.

"i thought it was normal."

chris looks at her like she's crazy. "that's almost as bad as the people who listen to the pre made playlists apple music makes for you."

"i also do that..."

the look of utter disappointment on chris' face makes mariah laugh.
