CHAPTER SIXTEEN:

MISSION

Y/N ROGERS STOOD in a building, looking through a window with her older brother, Steve Rogers. The rest of the team were out around near them. The Rogers girl wore a normal black suit, gun holsters at her side, as she didn't have a suit like she used to that was similar to Steve's.

"Alright, what do you see?" Steve asks, breaking the silence.

"Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target." The voice of Wanda Maximoff replies.

"There's an ATM on the south corner, which means?" Y/n begins.

"Cameras." Wanda concludes.

"Both cross streets are one-way." Steve observes.

"So, compromised escape routes." Wanda responds.

"Means our guy doesn't care about being seen." Y/n states.

"He isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out." Steve adds. "You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?"

"Yeah, the red one? It's cute." Wanda replies.

"It's also bulletproof, which means private security, which means more guns, which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us." Natasha Romanoff lists off.

"You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?" Wanda reminds.

"Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature." Natasha says.

"Anybody ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" The voice of Sam Wilson asks.

"Not to my face. Why? Did you hear something?" Natasha questions back.

"Eyes on target, folks. This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him." Steve states.

Sam scoffs. "If he sees us coming, that won't be a problem. He kind of hates us."

The Rogers siblings move away from the window, walking towards another one, peeking through the curtains, revealing many people throwing food at a garbage truck that was driving by. The soldier siblings exchange a knowing look.

"Sam... see that garbage truck? Tag it." Steve orders.

Obeying, a drone, Redwing, flies off of the Falcon's suit, proceeding to fly through the streets, going unnoticed by the civilians standing around it as Redwing flies under the moving garbage truck.

"Give me X-ray." Sam demands, looking at the drone's camera. "That truck's loaded for max weight. And the driver's armed."

"It's a battering ram." Natasha states.

"Go now." Steve instructs.

"What?" Wanda asks.

"He's not hitting the police." Y/n informs.

The siblings share a look before running out to the balcony, then quickly being grabbed by Sam, who flew down towards them with his wingsuit. After a few seconds, Sam drops the Rogers siblings to the ground, where they proceed to fight Rumlow's men in front of them. Y/n jumped up in the air, kicking at a vehicle, which knocked into one of the men.

As Steve threw his shield between some of the men, Y/n ran forward, punching, kicking, using some weapons Natasha had given to her to fight the men. Both siblings then ran towards two guys, jumping up and kicking them against the wall before landing on the ground.

"Body armor, AR-15s." Steve speaks up.

"We make seven hostiles." Y/n adds.

"I make five." Sam informs.

Just as the Falcon says this, using her powers, Wanda comes flying over the man, landing on the ground below him, creating a forcefield to cover herself when a man started shooting at her. After a couple seconds, the red aura wraps around the man.

"Sam." Wanda calls back, proceeding to throw the man towards Sam.

The Falcon flies down from the bridge he stood on, wingsuit opening up. As he flew down, Sam knocked the man Wanda threw to him, sending him to the ground.

"Four." Sam corrects himself.

Sam's drone, Redwing, comes flying above them as it scans the building. Sam looks through the camera of Redwing.

"Rumlow's on the third floor." Sam informs as the Rogers siblings come running over.

"Wanda, just like we practiced." Steve speaks, looking at the said girl.

"What about the gas?" Wanda questions.

"Get it out." Steve responds.

The siblings run forward, jumping off a vehicle while Wanda's hands glow red, lifting both of the super soldiers up and into the building, where Steve and Y/n start fighting Rumlow's men inside. Fighting one man, Y/n rips off the man's mask, causing him to start choking on the gas that filled the air before she kicks him against the wall.

The Rogers siblings then find themselves hiding behind pillars as Rumlow's men shot at them. Steve throws his shield, hitting the man before he runs over, kicking the man against the wall, knocking him out. Y/n runs towards one man that shot at her, however, she dodged the bullets, punching and kicking at him.

Once taking out all the men around him, the super soldiers run into a lab, then jogging into a room, where they see a weapon of some kind was missing, making it clear Rumlow stole it. The siblings share a look, walking out of the room.

"Rumlow has a biological weapon." Y/n informs.

"I'm on it." Natasha replies.

Quickly, the soldiers run out onto a balcony, only to get blown back into the building by Rumlow, who had used a weapon. As Rumlow continues to shoot at the building, the siblings frantically rose to their feet, running away from the shots, then finding themselves falling over the edge of a balcony, landing on the ground below.

"Sam." Steve grunts. "He's in an AFV heading north."

Still grunting slightly stands up, now standing on their feet. Y/n watches her brother bend down, grabbing his shield before they run off side by side, soon jogging through the crowd of people in the little town.

"I've got four, they're splitting up." Sam informs.

"I got the two on the left." Natasha adds.

The siblings make their way through the crowd, all the civilians moving out of the way, watching as the super soldiers crouch down, staring at Rumlow's men's gear on the ground in front of them.

"They ditched their gear." Y/n observes.

"It's a shell game now. One of them has the payload." Steve adds.

All of a sudden, a bomb lands on the blonde's shield. Quickly, he throws it up and away from them and the civilians, the bomb going off, causing the civilians around them to scream in fear. Suddenly, someone punches both siblings in the back roughly, sending them flying forward. Both look up, seeing Rumlow stomping towards them.

"There you are, you son of a bitch. I've been waiting for this." Rumlow exclaims in anger.

Just as they get up to their feet, Rumlow punches them again, sending them back to the ground. Rumlow stomps forward, going to kick at them, but the siblings both roll away in unison. Eventually, after a few seconds, the siblings rise to their feet, the three of them sending punches and kicks to one another.

Rumlow punches Y/n in the stomach, then throwing her against a stand from the farmer's market as he turns to Steve, the blonde dodging the punches and kicks before he found himself being pinned against the wall.

"This is for dropping a building on my face." Rumlow threatens.

Steve's gaze instantly goes to the arm of Rumlow's suit when a large knife appears. The blonde dodges, causing the knife to go into the brick wall. Just as Rumlow goes to attack Steve again, Y/n lunges at him, punching at him before kicking him a few feet away. The Rogers siblings stomp towards Rumlow, watching as he takes off his mask, revealing his burnt up face.

"I think I look pretty good, all things considered." Rumlow comments, out of breath.

"Who's your buyer?" Steve asks.

"You know, he knew you." Rumlow informs, then glancing at Y/n. "Her, too. Your pal, your sister, your Bucky and Y/n."

"What did you say?" Steve questions, glancing at his sister.

"They remembered you. I was there. They got all weepy about it. Till they put their brains back in a blender. They wanted you to know something. They said to me... "Please tell Rogers. When you gotta go... you gotta go". And you're coming with me."

Just as Rumlow was about to press a button on a bomb, a red aura wraps around the man just as the bomb goes off. Steve and Y/n look behind them, seeing Wanda standing there, hands glowing red as she lifts Rumlow up in the air.

The siblings and the civilians around them watch as Wanda's hands stop glowing and Rumlow flies into a building, the bomb going off inside. The siblings eyes widen, as does Wanda's, the Maximoff girl covering her mouth in shock.

"Sam... we need Fire and Rescue on the south side of the building." Y/n informs, stammering.

"We gotta get up there." Steve adds, him and Y/n heading towards the building.
