Chapter 5: Aslan's How
~3rd Person P.O.V.~
The Pevensie's, Y/n, Caspian, and the Narnian's all walked through the forest. Peter walked in the front of the group, leading the way, Caspian beside him. Y/n walked in-between Edmund and Susan, her and Edmund exchanging words. Soon enough, they finally walked out of the forest.
Lucy gasped softly upon the view in front of them. A giant field sat in front of them, trees all around, and Aslan's How stood in the distance of them.
Many centaurs lined up on each side when the group of Narnian's walked up. The humans all stood in a line as the centaurs brought out their swords, aiming them upwards. Staring forwards, the kings and queens all walked in-between them, the group leaving Caspian with the Narnian's.
Lucy looked up, seeing a little centaur smiling at the kings and queens. One of the older centaurs beside him used one of his arms, pushing the little centaurs arms up, as the sword was too low. Eventually, they made it inside the How, Caspian following.
Inside, many fauns, minotaurs, dwarfs all stood around, all working hard.
"It may not be what you are used to, but it is defensible." Caspian says to Peter and Edmund as the girls adventured forward.
"Peter." Susan calls, her and Y/n peeking over the wall. "You may want to see this."
The blonde nods, the three boys following the two girls, soon staring at the walls, revealing familiar looking people drawn onto the stone.
"It's us." Susan observes.
"What is this place?" Lucy asks.
"You don't know?" Caspian questions back.
They kings and queens stare at the prince before he grabs a torch, leading them into the cave more. Eventually, they made it deep into the cave, where Caspian lights up the lights around them, revealing the broken stone table in the middle of the room. Behind it, on the stone walls, a picture of the great lion laid there, all made of stone.
Lucy slowly walked up to the table, the four eldest following, watching as the youngest softly rests her hand on the stone.
"He must know what he's doing." Lucy says, looking back at Susan and Y/n.
"I think it's up to us now." Peter speaks, looking at his siblings and friend.
The five humans glance at one another, Edmund and Y/n lingering their eye contact before eventually looking at the stone picture of the great lion, the other three doing the same.

"It's only a matter of time." Peter starts as they all stood in the room, Narnian's had now joined them. "Miraz's men and war machines are on their way. That means those same men aren't protecting his castle."
"What do you propose we do, Your Majesty?" Reepicheep asks from beside Y/n.
"We need to get ready for it."
"To start planning for..."
The high king and the Telmarine prince answer in unison. They stare at one another before Caspian nods, letting Peter continue.
"Our only hope is to strike them before they strike us." Peter continues.
"That's crazy. No one has ever taken that castle." Caspian quickly states.
Peter shrugs. "There's always a first time."
"We'll have the element of surprise." Trumpkin says.
"But we have the advantage here!" Caspian argues.
"If we dig in," Susan starts. "we could probably hold them off indefinitely."
"I, for one, feel safe underground." A badger informs.
"Look. I appreciate what you've done here," Peter begins, looking at Caspian. "but this isn't a fortress. It's a tomb."
"Yes. And if they're smart," Edmund speaks. "the Telmarine's will just wait and starve us out."
"We could collect nuts!" A squirrel suggests.
"Yes! And throw them at the Telmarines." Reepicheep replies sarcastically. "Shut up! I think you know where I stand, sire."
"If I get your troops in, can you handle the guards?" Peter questions, looking at a centaur.
The creature glances between him and Caspian before settling his eyes back on Peter. "Or die trying, my liege."
"That's what I'm worried about." Lucy speaks up.
"Sorry?" Peter asks, face scrunching up.
"You're all acting like there's only two options. Dying here, or dying there." Lucy responds.
"I'm not sure you've really been listening, Lu." Peter replies.
"No, you're not listening." Y/n retorts, everyone looking at the daughter of Aslan. "Or have you forgotten who really defeated the White Witch, Peter?"
Peter glares at her, jaw clenched. "I think we've waited for your father long enough, Y/n."
With that, the high king walks out of the room, leaving everyone in there.

A little later, just a few hours before the Narnian's were going to invade the Telmarine castle, Y/n stood outside the How in a slightly secluded part in the field. Her sword was unsheathed, staring down at the lion print on the handle, along with glancing at her rope bracelet every now and then.
"I miss you, father." Y/n murmurs quietly.
"I miss you too, little one." She suddenly heard, making her jump.
"Father?" Y/n whispers upon hearing bushes move around her. Quickly, she aims her sword in that direction, ready to fight if needed.
When the figure popped out, the queen was quick to pin them against the tree, but stopped her actions when she saw the familiar head of a brunette.
"Edmund?" Y/n asks.
"Hi." Edmund groans slightly.
"Oh," Y/n lets him go, keeping her sword in hand as Edmund slowly backs off from the tree. "Sorry."
"It's fine. What are you doing out here?" Edmund questions.
Y/n shrugs, looking down at her feet. "Just thinking." Edmund nods.
He knew what she was thinking. He knew she was thinking about her father. He knew she missed him. She talked about him all the time. Saying she missed him, talking about the memories she had of him. Edmund always enjoyed listening to her speak about her father so fondly.
"Hey, have you tried using your abilities again?" Edmund asks, wanting to get her mind off her father so she wasn't sad.
"No, actually. I haven't." Y/n replies.
Sheathing her sword, Y/n brought her hands up towards a pile of leaving. Motioning with her hands, the leaves flew up in the air, then spinning around both of them. Edmund had a smile on his fact, Y/n holding a slight smaller one.
She hadn't used her powers in a year. At least, in England it was a year. She didn't want to scare someone if she ever used them, so the last she used them, they were in Narnia. When the leaves fell to the floor, they were in a fit of giggles.
Eventually, Edmund stepped back slightly after exchanging more words, watching as the girl's eyes glowed slightly, body hunching over, Y/n now turning into a lion. Now that, she didn't really do back when they first were in Narnia.
Edmund took small steps forward, staring at the lion in awe. Y/n turned to him, in lion form, letting the boy rest his hand on her on mane. The boy wrapped his other arm around her slightly, smiling down at her...
With love in his eyes.
