Beatrice Bennet grew up in the walls of Longbourn knowing that she would have to marry one day. Only to save herself from starvation and destitution because Mr Bennet had no male heir and one day he would die, leaving her with nothing.  This had nothing to do with the fact that Beatrice Bennet is also painfully shy until her trust is finally earned.  Even then, Beatrice is not the jewel of the Bennet family.

Jane has kindness and beauty. Lizzy her wits. Beatrice feels she has nothing compared to her sisters and grows quite content with the lack of attention from the opposite sex.  In fact, she'd rather Mama focus her attention on her sisters first.  Thankfully, Mama is only too happy to shower her love and affection on Jane.

But that all comes crashing down. Thanks to Caroline Bingley.

Fitzwilliam  Darcy had no intention of marrying when he accompanied his friend to the countryside.  The women in his circle were all the same. They'd bore him with their platitudes.  The women near Bingley's Netherfield are not even worth his time.

Or so he thought until he was forced to marry Beatrice Bennet. Thanks to Caroline Bingley.

Beatrice had no interest in marrying Mr Darcy either. Despite her reputation in tatters, Beatrice pleaded with her father for days to make it all just go away.  But with word of her encounter with Mr Darcy spreading like wildfire she has no other choice.  Not only because she has no other prospects, but because it was the only way to save her sisters from ruin.

With an unconventional marriage borne between the two, neither has high prospects of ever finding love in the other. But sometimes love isn't fireworks. Love just comes softly.

Yes, I too am an Elizabeth/Darcy fan. I never thought I'd create something like this. My first thoughts were to create a Bennet brother. But we somehow ended up here. So please, no hate. I love Lizzy/Darcy too! This story intrigued me.
