guys i don't know if you want to hear how much i could yap about this damn book.

if there's anyone i read fanfics about, it's steve harrington. i've read SO many books about this man but none have compared to when he sees me in the slightest. (#whsmworlddomination when???)

i'm not exactly sure when i started reading whsm. i think i found ali's work via tiktok and then realized it was time i got off my ass and read the book. i ended up reading everything right when s3 was ending, and when alisha started updating for season four, i always rushed my ass to the newest chapter to spam. 

there's so much i wanna say idek how to put it into words or how to start. 

firstly the plot is great. whsm follows the main plot of s3/s4 of stranger things, BUT with the added romance that is staurie. while the trope is common (steve falling for robin's close friend during the whole scoops troop plot) alisha's writing AND laurie's character make it so refreshing to read. instead of being some popular blonde chick, laurie is dorky and awkward which adds to her and steve's romance. the way it equally holds romantic moments and major plot points of the show is perfect. 

laurie dante is my wife. she is one of my favorite oc's ever because she feels like a real person with real emotions. she's not perfect, she has flaws, and she's just SO genuine? she's my pookie. her addition to the scoops troop is perfect, and the way alisha writes her thoughts about the whole situation adds to how real she is, and makes me love her even more. #1 laurel dante defender over here!!

laurie's relationship's with other characters are also SO well written, specifically robin and laurie. their friendship is so well done and they're so UGH. robin yaps, laurie listens THEY'RE SO OPPOSITES BUT THEY'RE SO PERFECT TOGETHER? alisha you do something to my girls and i swear to god.

now i think we all know what time it is.....

STAURIE. STAURIE. STAURIE.

oh my god they are my babies. you can't NOT like steve and laurie. their tension and moments in s3 make me just wanna squeal. they're just dumb and in love and it's so adorable. the way laurie writes their romance is fucking perfect. and then their tension and angst in season four? HOLY SHIT? it's so well written and fits into steve and laurie's characters so well. i miss my pookies so much but their s4 arch is gonna be great i can sense it.

please let my pookies be okay or else i will be ill. 

genuinely could yap about staurie forever but i feel like it's time to give alisha some credit now. 

i can't even explain to you ali's writing but it is beautiful? she makes all the characters feel so real and genuine with how she expressed their feelings. like what the hell ali spare everyone else some talent PLEASE? she can weave humor, romance, big emotions and horror into one paragraph with ease and still manages to have room to feed us with so much detail (the detailing she adds is utterly gorgeous). she breaks my heart and stitches it back together every chapter. 

and no, i'm not just saying this because i love alisha dearly. her writing is truly SO freaking good. she also happens to be a pretty funny person, which adds to the already great writing & plot. 

when he sees me will forever and always be one of my favorites. PLEASE go and read it and spam with comments, i promise you will love this fic as much as i do. however, if not, still go and show austrxlians the love she deserves by hitting that follow button. she just published a spencer reid/criminal minds fic "mastermind" that deserves just as much attention as whsm.
