" What if we're wrong and cutting the power doesn't disengage the locks " Hera questioned as Lexa laid on a bed not to far from her in the commander's private tent.

" Your people said it will....." Lexa told her, she opened her eyes and looked at Hera's back before standing up with a sigh " You should rest, Hera ".

" We could blow the doors manually " Hera suggested, her nerves getting the better of her.

" plans don't last very long in battle......" Lexa said as she walked over to Hera and looked at her, her eyes drifting to the girls bare stomach for a second " Tiring yourself with questions already asked and answered is a waste of energy ".

" people died for this, Lexa " Hera looked at the older woman " It has to work ".

" Your doing what I did, when I first took command " Lexa told her and turned away from her and walked over to a table besides her bed " We can't move forward and it's giving you too much time to think " she then poured a cup of water " Once Bellamy shuts down the acid fog and the battle begins, everything will be clear " she said before placing the jug down and took a sip.

" And what if he can't.....what if it was too dangerous and I sent him to die anyway " Hera asked as she rubbed her face harshly.

" You care about him? " Lexa said as she felt a pit in her stomach form.

" I care about all of them " Hera replied and turned to face her.

" Yet, you worry about him more " Lexa said as she turned around.

" Of course, I do....he's my brother " Hera snapped and Lexa couldn't help but feel relived.

" Your brother? " Lexa raised an eyebrow.

" I couldn't have kept us alive all this time without him, we need him.....and now I might be the one who get's him killed " Hera snapped.

" That's what it means to be a leader, Hera......." Lexa told her as she walked closer " the truth is, we must look into the eyes of our warriors and say ' go die for me ' ".

" He's not a warrior, he's my brother " Hera yelled and grabbed the cup from Lexa's hand and threw the contents in her face before throwing the cup to the ground and stormed out leaving a fuming Commader behind.

Hera sighed beofre as she left and she saw Octavia sitting by a fire and walked over and sat opposite her.

" Everything okay? " Hera asked as she sat down.

" I'm going over it and over it in my head just trying to figure out, how......your still alive " Octavia replied as she glared at her sister.

" What are you talking about? " Hera asked confused.

" I saw you in TonDC before the missile hit.....I know you, Hera....somethings wrong? And then you and Lexa disappeared and just happen to survive? Tell me you didn't know it was coming " Octvaia questioned as Hera looked down.

Hera was silent for a minute before she looked up " Octavia.......".

Octavia's glare hardened " You let all those people die " she stood up and yelled " You were gonna let me die, your own sister ".

Hera stood up as well " I wouldn't have let you die and I did it to safe our brother, so that we could win this war.....don't you see? If we had evacuated TonDC, mount weather would've know that someone tipped us off and they would have found him " she pleaded trying to reassure her sister.

" No, Bellamy would have never told you to do that, he would've found another way " Octavia argued.

" I couldn't take the risk " Hera sighed.

" Right, because you're in charge now and you decide, who's disposable " Octavia scoffed before storming away
" you would've fit right in on the council ".

" Octavia, wait " Hera said as she stopped her.

" what " Octavia snapped as she turned.

" You can't tell anyone, if people found out— " Hera sighed.

" the alliance will break " Octavia interrupted sharply as Lexa walked out of her tent and looked at the two sisters
" I'm not an idiot, Hera " she hissed before storming off but stopped, when she saw Lexa standing there.

" Commander " Octavia nodded.

" Octavia " Lexa nodded back.

" It is time for the southernmost guard posts rotation, you should relive them " Ryder said to Octavia.

" Indra expects me to be on the scouting mission with Lincoln " Octavia argued.

" But now you're needed at the guard post, Indra will join you there shortly " the man replied as Hera eyed the commander and Ryder.

Lexa nodded at Octavia and the younger girl quickly left.

Hera walked over to Lexa.

" She won't say anything " Hera reassured.

" You can't be sure of that......one two many people know, Hera " Lexa replied as she looked at Hera.

" You worry about your people, I'll worry about mine " Hera told her before walking back into the tent.

" Kill her " Lexa said to Ryder before walking in the tent behind Hera.

Hera walked out of Lexa's tent and saw Indra Stirling by a fire with some other grounders.

Hera walked over to the woman and asked " Indra, aren't you supposed to be on watch? ".

" I don't stand post " Indra told her.

" Well, um....do you know where Octavia is? " Hera asked confused.

" With Lincoln scouting the mountain " Indra replied.

Hera's eyes widen in realisation, she could feel the rage building up in her.

The Woods

Ryder pulled the arrow back and was about to kill Octavia but was stopped, when the barrel of a gun was pressed against his head.

" Don't move " Hera warned.

" I have my orders " Ryder told her.

" I don't care......this is not happening " Hera hissed and Ryder slowly dropped his weapon.

" Let's go " the girl demanded and they walked back to camp, Hera still holding the gun at him as he walked in front of her.

  Hera Blake didn't care that Lexa was the commander of all 12 grounder clans, no one gets away with hurting her brother and sister.

Hera entered the tent, she knew Lexa was in and shoved Ryder to the floor.

" You sent him to kill my sister? I told you, she's not a problem " Hera yelled as Lexa looked at her startled.

Lexa was silently before she looked at the grounder on the floor " Leave us ".

Ryder goes to leave but was shoved back by Hera.

" No, I'm not letting him out of my sight " Hera hissed.

" Stand down and wait for my command " Lexa orders as she stood from her throne.

Ryder then walked out the tent as Hera placed her gun in the jeans.

" What the hell is wrong with you? Trying to have my little sister killed " Hera shouted at Lexa.

" I wouldn't of done it, if I had know she was your sister " Lexa shrugged as she walked over to a certain.

" So that makes it okay? " Hera snapped.

" You were willing to let her die in TonDC, nothing has changed " Lexa shrugged as she placed something away.

" You're wrong, I have....I can't do this anymore " Hera said before walking away.

" Octavia is a threat " Lexa said as Hera stopped and turned around.

" She's not a threat, she's my littler sister.....she would never endanger mine or Bellamy's lives " Hera cried as Lexa walked over to her.

" And your willing to risk everything on that? On your feelings? " Lexa questioned as she stared down at the girl.

" Yes.....you say having feelings makes me weak but your weak for hiding from them, I might be a hypocrite, Lexa.....but your a liar " Hera said as she stood closer to Lexa and began to slowly walk as the older girl was forced to back away " You felt something for Gustus.......your still haunted by Costia, you want everyone to think your above it all but I see right through you " Lexa's breath hitched, when she was backed up against a table and Hera leaned closer.

" Get out " Lexa hissed, after a moment of looking at each other.

" 250 people died in that village, I know you felt for them but you let them burn " Hera says as Lexa swallowed.

" Not everyone......not you " Lexa whispered and Hera looked at her baffled.

" Well, if you care about me then......then trust me, Octavia's not a threat " Hera replied softly.

" I'm sorry but I can't do that " Lexa sighed.

" I swear that if you do anything and I mean anything to harm my sister...... I'll everyone know that we knew about that missile " Hera threatened before walking out.

Hera entered the tent after being summoned by Lexa.

" You sent for me " Hera said as she walked over to Lexa.

" Yes......" Lexa nodded " Octavia has nothing to fear from me " Hera looked at Lexa, who looked down " I do trust you, Hera ".

" I know, how hard that is for you " Hera said softly.

Lexa looked at Hera and then turned to face her " You think our ways are harsh......but that's how we survive".

" Maybe life should be more than just about surviving " Hera whispered and looked at her hands " Don't we deserve better than that ".

" maybe we do " Lexa muttered before she lifted Hera's chin up and kissed her, Hera froze before she kissed Lexa back as she wrapped her arms around the taller girls neck, they pulled away and stared at each other and Lexa pulled her into another kiss this time more passionate than the last.

They broke apart, when they heard yells.

" The signal ".

" Heda, come quick ".

They looked at each other before running outside.

" He did it " Hera smiled as she looked at the red flare in the sky.

" You were right to have faith in him " Lexa said and Hera looked at the woman " Now, we fight ".

Hera nodded as Lexa ran over to the each of a cliff and looked at her warriors below as Hera followed behind her.

" Sound the horn " Lexa orders and the grounder did as told and the sound of the war horn was heard.

The army began to cheer as Lexa yelled " To war ".

Hera, Lexa and the army were currently walking to the mountain, Hera slowed down until she was next to her sister.

" Hey " Hera smiled at her sister.

" What do you want? " Octavia snapped.

" I'm changing your mission, your not going to the mines with Indra, I'm placing you in the rear guard, where you'll be safe " Hera told her.

" Like hell you are, I don't take orders from you......I take orders from Indra " Octavia scoffed.

" I'm trying to protect you, Octavia " Hera sighed.

" Protect me " Octavia scoffed under her breath.

" Maybe one day you'll understand, why I did, what I did " Hera says.

" Never.....I'll fight this war with you now, because I want our friends back " Octavia told her " But after that, we're done......we're no longer sisters ".

Hera looked at her in disbelief.

" The commander's looking for you " Indra said as she approached them and Hera nodded before she walked over to Lexa, who looked at her softly as the grounders behind them roared.
