18 | advanced collaging (part one)
apps used: weheartit, picsart, superimpose, phonto, vsco
step one — finding photos
1) open weheartit. this is where you'll find your pictures. my account is @flynneus, i have collections of certain color schemes, or you can find your own. so, pick a color scheme of aestheticish photos.
— examples:
save at least 20 photos from the color scheme. i'm pretty sure i used 17 in all? but it's always better to have extras.
2) find three pictures of a celebrity/face claim. preferably something that would be easy for you to mask. you could even look up pngs/transparents to make the search easy.
step two — set up
1) open picsart. you're going to be using 9/20 of the photos. hit the "+" and click collage. pick your nine photos and pick the grid with the nine equal squares. click "border" and change the thickness. choose any number over 10. i chose 12 (:
2) depending on the color scheme, change the color of the border. something completely different of your color scheme, i'm going to choose neon green. save it.
step three — layering
1) open up another color of the color scheme and then the saved photo from picsart as the foreground.
2) go to filter. change the background to black and white by moving the hue and the way up and the saturation all the way down.
3) go to the transform tab. click the "fit to background" button on the top. it should be four arrows pointing outward.
4) go to the mask tab. change the masking tool to "mask by color" (the triangle with the ruler) click the green a few times to get rid of the green (or whatever color you chose)
5) transform tab → merge layers → drop shadow. turn the opacity to 100 and the blur to any number between 13 to 22. click the check mark to accept.
[ there's photo limit, so that's it for part one ] ):
