this chapter is a little spicy so yeah. hehe
IT WAS NEARING FIVE A.M. IN HAWKINS, Indiana, the inch of dawn breaking through the horizon. The atmospheric and scenic phenomena accompanied the ascent of the sun, the quiet chirps of birds peppering Cerise's ears.
The girl woke up with a ragged start, the memories of the night before vividly fresh in her head. Her younger sister figure, Max, was floating mid-air, her milky film eyes twitching in horror. Turning to her side, Cerise was met with the sight of a sleeping Max, the soft humming audio of "Running Up That Hill", the slow hissing warble of her cassette filling the secluded area of the Wheeler basement.
Cerise's eyes scanned her surroundings and she noticed how everyone was still soundly asleep. She rubbed her eyes vigorously, rubbing out the soreness from the tears she shed after thinking she was going to lose Max. She diverted her eyes once more to the redhead and brushed a piece of stray hair behind her ear that was falling over her face. She subconsciously smiled at the peaceful sight of her friends and cautiously stood up, walking stealthily toward the front door.
Her hand was merely inches away from the golden knob, her fingertips barely brushing against the frigid metal, but she jumped with a small squeal when someone cleared their throat.
"Ahem," the voice behind her intentionally cleared their throat loudly. At the familiar tone of scolding, Cerise knew within a split second who was behind her. Lazily turning around, Cerise was met with the sight of Steve, leaning against the doorframe of the hallway, tapping his foot incessantly on the carpet.
"And where do you think you're going, young lady?" Cerise rolled her eyes, feeling the overprotective nature of her brother rising once again.
"Out."
"Out where?"
"Outside, like out on the other side of this door, dingus," Cerise snarked, internally laughing at herself for sounding like Robin. She looked back at Steve to be met with a serious expression and she sighed, giving in.
"I'm going to go see Eddie." Cerise scanned Steve's face to see that he had a hesitant expression, but he then grabbed his car keys and pushed Cerise aside, so he was now outside, walking toward his car.
"You coming or what?"
Cerise froze in her place, her sleepiness nearly swallowing her whole, but when Steve whisper-yelled, "hurry up," her eyes shot open once again and scampered to the passenger side of his car.
The ride to Eddie was relatively calm, the only sounds being the revving of Steve's BMW and the radio quietly humming "Shot in the Dark" by Ozzy Osbourne. Cerise was bobbing her head to the beat, feeling the judgemental stare of her brother from her peripheral vision.
"I still don't understand how you can listen to this trash," Steve scoffed, shaking his head incredulously at Cerise's music taste. The burning glare he felt was so strong, that Steve would've sworn Cerise would have put him on fire.
"If you disrespect Ozzy one more time, I will throw you out of this car," Cerise partially joked. Steve threw his hands up in mock surrender, knowing that Cerise really could have done that if she wanted to.
"See, the scary thing is that, I know you probably would throw me out of the car." The two siblings stared at each other with deadpanned faces but suddenly burst into a fit of laughter, the two teens having too much energy for five a.m.
Comfortable silence soon filled the car and Cerise fidgeted with the single necklace that was now on her neck. When she buried Billy's necklace the day before, it felt weird for Cerise to have a single one on her neck.
She reminisced on the thoughts of the treacherous voice intruding her mind for a while and it felt strange for Cerise to withhold this information from her brother. As kids, they made a pact to tell each other everything, saying how not telling each other everything, was a crime equivalent to stealing one another's cookies.
Of course, now that they're older, that rule became obsolete, but they still did tell each other everything out of the feeling of comfort and trust.
"Steve, I need to tell you something," Cerise murmured barely above a whisper. Steve's eyes on the road instantly diverted toward his sister and he parked his car to the side, luckily being on the same road as where Eddie was at.
"What's wrong, Ressie?" Steve's heart was trembling with anticipation, his worry for his sister becoming evident. Luck for the Harrington siblings wasn't in their favor, so Steve was worried something bad was happening to Cerise.
"Ever since I uh...wellโcame back from the dead, I've been hearing voices," Cerise slowly started, closely examining Steve's facial expressions. "I think something bad is going to happen again."
Steve visibly stiffened, his grip on the leather steering wheel nearly tearing from his fingernails digging into the thick fabric. He rubbed his hands belligerently on his face, exhaling a frustrated and fearful sigh.
"You think it's Vecna?" Steve asked in a quavering whisper.
"I know it is."
Steve released a discontented groan before speaking. "Screw it, nope. I'm not letting you out of my sight, I'm taking you back to the Wheeler's."
Cerise's eyes widened, immediately shaking her head. They were yards away from where Eddie was and she had to see him. Cerise couldn't turn back now.
"No way! We are already here, Steve, c'mon," Cerise pleaded, using her 'puppy' eyes, knowing damn well, that Steve will give in. He always does.
Steve desperately tried to look away from his sister's persuasive gaze, but even as he closed his eyes, he still felt her permeating stare. He begrudgingly opened one eye to be met with the forbidden pleading look from his sister.
He gave in.
"Dammit, fine. I don't know why your puppy eyes are so easy to give into." Cerise released a laugh, slapping his shoulder lightly before opening her door. She waved Steve goodbye, only to receive the middle finger from him. Playfully scoffing, Cerise shook her head at him and made her way to Rick's house.
The bitter cold inclement wind threaded through the minuscule holes of Cerise's jacket, her bringing it closer to her chest in an attempt to conserve her warmth. She made her way through the back door, whispering Eddie's name, hoping not to give him a heart attack if he was awake.
Cerise weaved through the hallways of the home, her eyes scanning every room. When she reached the last room, she was met with the sight of a sleeping Eddie, his soft curls framing his accentuated bone structure.
She was in complete awe of the sight of him. With everything that was revolving around Eddie's life, he looked completely peaceful, nothing put tranquility filling his aura.
"Pssst. Eddie, wake up,"ย Cerise whispered, shaking his body slightly. He mumbled out incoherent words and shifted in his sleep. Sighing to herself, Cerise sat next to Eddie's sleeping figure, scratching his scalp comfortingly. When Eddie unconsciously released a satisfied moan, Cerise's eyes widened as her face heated.
She didn't know what else to do, so Cerise began to shake his shoulder vigorously. The next thing she knew, Eddie shot up from his sleeping state, grabbing her wrists and pinning her hands above her head. He hovered over her, his legs now straddling her waist, and Eddie's other hand was placed on her throat.
"You gotta stop putting your hands around my throat, Munson because I'm going to start to think of something else," Cerise joked, despite the very compromising position the pair was currently in. Eddie rapidly blinked his eyes several times, his cloudy vision soon clearing at the sight of Cerise under him.
Eddie was about to apologize until he saw the knowing smirk that was rising on Cerise's face. He playfully glared at her and rose his eyebrows, leaning in closer so their faces were inches apart.
"You like it when I'm on top of you, huh, sweetheart?" Eddie whispered, his raspy breath shooting goosebumps down her skin. Cerise involuntarily let out a groan when Eddie peppered small kisses on her neck. She could practically feel him smirk into the kiss.
"You're an asshole," Cerise faltered, her voice betraying her. She attempted to sit up and get out from under Eddie's body, but once her body shifted, Eddie tightened his grip on her wrists.
"You're the one that woke me up, and now you want to leave? Nuh-uh, I don't think so, baby." Cerise's breath shuddered, Eddie's brown eyes burrowing into her soul when he stared directly at her. Knowing what they both wanted, Eddie smashed his lips against Cerise's lips, one hand now grasping her waist, while his other one interlocked with hers.
Cerise's body fluttered with excitement when she felt the cold rings make contact with her skin. An involuntary gasp escaped her lips and Eddie chuckled darkly.
"You like my rings?" Eddie murmured through the kiss. Cerise merely nodded her head and Eddie didn't like that. "Use your words, sweetheart."
"Y-Yes."
"Good girl."
Cerise's stammering voice seemed to provoke Eddie into pressing his body even closer to hers, leaving absolutely no space between them. Their lips were eagerly fighting for dominance and what Cerise did next, caught Eddie off guard.
Within seconds, Cerise was on top of Eddie, her now straddling his waist. Eddie seemed to stare at her with shock, yet adoration. She leaned down closer and Eddie was anticipating a kiss, so he puckered his lips, his hands rising toward her waist.
But when he felt no contact on his lips, Eddie opened his eyes to see a smirking Cerise. He furrowed his eyebrows and the young Harrington laughed.
"I'm not going to give in that easily, lover. So be patient."
Cerise stood up, flattening out her clothes, and walked out of the bedroom, leaving a flabbergasted Eddie on the bed. His mouth was in the form of an 'o' shape and he instantly shot up from the bed, hot on Cerise's heels.
"You're going to just leave me like that?!" Eddie asked incredulously, his hands waving in the air while Cerise snickered.
"You gotta be patient, lover boy." Cerise continued to open the cabinets, looking for something that the two of them could eat. When she felt Eddie press his chest against her back, snaking his arms under her shirt, she gasped.
"You shouldn't have done that," Eddie whispered in her ear, nibbling her ear lobe. Just as Eddie's hands were rising higher to her chest, Cerise abruptly turned around, shoving a can of SpaghettiOs near Eddie's face.
Eddie reluctantly backed up slightly, wondering what she was holding in front of his face and when he saw food, his eyes widened in hunger.
But that was not the only thing Eddie was hungry for.
"Oh my God, I love SpaghettiOs! These are literally the best," Cerise squealed in excitement, Eddie beaming brighter at the sight of his happy girl. Eddie chuckled and shook his head, temporarily putting their 'moment' on pause so they can eat.
"Yeah, it'll do," Eddie mumbled, looking at the can, scrutinizing it as if it were a suspicious object. He smiled at Cerise and quickly pecked her lips before pulling out a pot and she made coffee for herself and Eddie.
As Cerise was stirring the food and simultaneously mixing the coffee grounds, Eddie stared at her in awe, wondering how he scored a perfect girl like Cerise Harrington. A smile absentmindedly crept on his face and it stuck when he gripped the walkie-talkie, calling for Dustin's name.
"Hey, Dustin, this is Eddie the Banished, you there?" Eddie started, walking around the house. "Dustin, earth to Dustin," Eddie rang in a sing-song tone of voice. Cerise chuckled at his voice which caught Eddie's attention.
He walked toward the girl and wrapped an arm around her body, smothering her face with kisses. Cerise squealed and attempted to writhe out of his suffocating yet affectionate kisses.
"Eddie! I'm cooking," Cerise playfully scolded, chuckling at her enthusiastic lover. He simply smiled at her and kissed her once more before hearing Nancy's voice on the other end of the line.
"Wheeler! Hey, um, we're going to need a food delivery. Like really soon, unless you want me going out into the world." Cerise blithely glared at him, earning an innocent shrug from Eddie.
"No, no, don't do that. Stay where you are and we'll be there as soon as we can," Nancy's voice rang through Cerise's ears. She was intently focused on cooking the canned noodles, and brewing coffee, whilst listening to the conversation, she didn't even realize that the food was overcooking.
"Oh shit, shit, shit. Eddie, can you come here?" Cerise yelled, instantly gaining the attention of the Munson boy.
"Yes, my sweet cuddly baby muffin bun?" Cerise spun her head at him, a look of cringe written on every inch of her face. Her face was filled with faux disgust, a smile threatening to form too.
"What the hell did you just call me?" Cerise laughed, the innocent and big doe eyes of Eddie filled with frolicsomeness.
"Your nickname, sweetheart," Eddie stated as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Cerise rose a brow, pointing the wooden spoon at the boy.
"Do you want to get slapped?" Cerise joked, reminiscing at the stupid, yet somewhat adorable nickname. To Cerise's surprise, Eddie's eyes widened in anticipation, striding closer to her and wrapping his arms around her body.
"By you? Oh please, any time of the day." Eddie nodded his head repetitively, a wide smile cornering ear to ear. Cerise scoffed and slapped his chest, making Eddie frown. "I think you missed. My face is up here, not down there."
"In your dreams, Munson."
The pair swayed onto the cold checker-pattered tiles of the kitchen floor, Cerise's arms resting on Eddie's neck, while his hands were comfortably resting around her torso. The small domestic moments like this were something Cerise longed for in life. She has always dreamed of growing old with her partner, having children, and living the happy life she wanted.
And she wanted that life with Eddie.
But one predominant question lingered in Cerise's mind and it insistently nagged her for quite some time.
"Eddie?" Cerise gently called his name. Eddie hummed in response, his face still burrowed in between her shoulder. "What are we?"
The question was heavily filled with uncertainty and seriousness and that scared Eddie. He pulled away from her body slightly, looking into her eyes in confusion.
"What do you mean, Little Red?"
"I mean, we never really classified what we were. Like are we officially back together or what?" Eddie's frowned at Cerise's question. It seemed as if Eddie was hurt by it.
"D-Do you not want to be with me?" Eddie's voice was barely above a whisper and Cerise felt her heart wrench in pain. She instantaneously shook her head and put a hand against his cheek.
"No, not at all. I'm just saying, you never really asked me to be your girlfriend. Well...again I mean." Eddie smiled softly and pressed a kiss on Cerise's forehead. She melted into his touch and hummed softly in comfort.
"I mean, to me, you never stopped being my girlfriend and I never stopped loving you," Eddie stated in a serious tone. His eyes did not leave Cerise's and the young Harrington adored the man in front of her. His kindness is too good for this world and Eddie did not deserve the attention that was currently brought onto him by the police.
Leaning in gently, Cerise locked her lips against Eddie's, the two of them relaxing in each other's touch. Eddie's hands trailed lower to her hips and he tangled his fingers between her belt loops. As the kiss became more heated, Eddie pressed Cerise against the wall, pinning his arms on it so she was barricaded by nothing but his body.
"So, this does mean we are a couple right?" Cerise asked once again, breaking the kiss, her overthinking mind needing the sense of clarity. Eddie chuckled deep from his throat and nodded his head in reassurance.
"Yes, baby, we are a couple."
Cerise beamed brightly and crashed her lips on his once again, hungry for his touch and affection. Eddie's hands were soon trailing up her shirt and Cerise involuntarily released a moan, his cold rings doing things to her.
Eddie growled in eagerness, needing more of her touch. He broke apart their kiss for a split second so he could speak.
"Jump," he huskily whispered. Cerise wasted no seconds, jumping into Eddie's arms, her legs straddling his body. They connected their lips once again, Eddie carrying her back into the bedroom, not once breaking their kiss.
When they reached the bedroom, Eddie practically threw Cerise onto the bed, instantly ripping off his jackets and shirt, his toned and tattooed chest giving Cerise very dirty thoughts. Hovering over her body, Eddie's hands tugged at the edge of her tank top.
He looked at her for permission and she nodded frantically. In one swift movement, Cerise's shirt was discarded and thrown somewhere in the room. Eddie was about to connect their lips once again until he looked at Cerise to see she had tears in her eyes. He instantly went on alert and caressed her cheeks with worry that he did something wrong.
"Sweetheart, are you okay? Did I do something wrong?" A tear slid down her cheek and she chuckled and played with his curls that were now tickling her face.
"You didn't do anything wrong. It's just, I don't think anyone has ever loved me as much as you do, Eddie. You are this sweet, handsome, and kind gentleman and you are everything I ever wanted in a lover." Eddie stared at her, tears of joy threatening to rim on his waterline.
"I'm in love with you, Eddie Munson."
Just like that, Eddie's heart exploded with jubilance and love, the words he has yearned to hear in his life, were now finally being said by the girl he loved. A choked sob escaped his lips and he leaned down to press a loving kiss on her lips.
"Cerise Harrington, the moment I laid eyes on you back in middle school, I knew I was in love with you. I just never had the balls to ask you out until last year."
"Then show me what we've been missing out on," Cerise whispered in a seductive tone. Eddie licked his lips hungrily and advanced toward her face to show her the love he had for her.
He looked at her for permission once again, not daring to ever let Cerise feel uncomfortable for a second and she impatiently nodded. Eddie's ring-cladded fingers teased the zipper of her jeans, Cerise bucking her hips up to feel the hardness on top of her.
She wasn't going to let him dominate her that easily.
"God, I love you, Cerise," Eddie muttered through a moan. Within seconds, all clothes were now dumped on the floor, nothing but loving words and praises ricocheting on the walls of the house.
That morning was filled with pleasure and euphoria.
