"COME ON NOW," the beaver began as the five Pevensies followed him deeper into the woods, "Don't wanna be caught out here after nightfall." They walked for what felt like forever before the beaver spoke up once more, but this time in joy. "Ah blimey! Looks like the old girl has got the kettle on!" The beaver exclaimed, "Nice cup of Rosy lee."

"It's lovely." Lucy complimented the dam, which was situated in the middle of a frozen lake, surrounded by the white Cliffs and trees.

"It's merely a trifle. Still plenty to do. Ain't quite finished it yet. It'll look the business when it is, though." The beaver continued, all of a sudden another beaver appeared from inside the dam, in a state of obvious distress.

"Beaver, is that you? I've been worried sick! If I find you've been out with Badger again I... Oh! Well, those aren't badgers. Oh, I never thought I'd live to see this day." Mrs Beaver rambled, "Look at my fur! You couldn't give me ten minutes warning?". Eliza chuckled as the two beavers chatted away as if this was a normal occurrence - which it most certainly wasn't.

"I'd have given a week if I thought it would've helped." Mr Beaver joked, earning a small glare from his wife, but giggles from the kids.

"Oh, come inside, and see if we can't get you some food, and some civilised company." Mrs. Beaver spoke up to the children, giving a rather pointed look to her husband.

Mrs. Beaver ushered the kids inside of the dam. As soon as Eliza stepped foot inside the house, a sense of warmth and comfort washed over her. The girl looked around at the small abode the beavers lived in, trying to comprehend this whole situation and after sitting the siblings down with a cup of piping tea, Mrs Beaver joined them at the table.

"Isn't there anything we can do to help Tumnus?" Peter questioned, making all Lucy look towards the Beavers in hope.

"They'll have taken him to the Witch's. You know what they say." Mr Beaver answered, his voice grave and steady, "There's few that go through them gates that come out again."

This statement alone made Eliza gulp in horror, they really should not be here. This wasn't their world. Mrs Beaver jumped up from her seat and rushed towards the kitchen and retrieved five plates of food for the kids.

"Fish 'n' chips!" Mrs Beaver grinned, trying to change the subject but upon noticing Lucy's solemn expression the beavers face softened, "But there is hope, dear. Lots of hope."

"Oh, yeah, there's a right bit more than hope." Mr Beaver spat out his drink, "Aslan is on the move!"

Eliza scrunched her brows together in thought, "W-who's Aslan?" She asked hesitantly, making the beavers gape at her in shock.

"Who's Aslan? You cheeky little blighter." Me beaver laughed heartedly, before Mrs. Beaver elbowed him, "What?". They looked towards the kids who looked extremely confused and lost.

" You don't know, do you?" Mr. Beaver asked, his smile dropping, and his face returning to its previous one of shock.

"Well, we haven't exactly been here very long." Peter replied defensively, straightening up in his seat.

"Well, he's only the king of the whole wood. The top geezer. The real King of Narnia!" Mr Beaver said dramatically as Edmund pulled a face, while the others looked completely enchanted by the Beavers words.

"He's been away for a long while." Mrs Beaver doubted, slowly picking away at her food.

"But he's just got back! And he's waitin' for you near the Stone Table!" Mr Beaver replied excitedly, making Eliza freeze up slightly.

"He's waiting for us?" Lucy queried, voicing all of their questioning thoughts.

"You're blooming joking! They don't even know about the prophecy!" Mr. Beaver faintly remarked, banging his hand on the table in disbelief, his wife in equal shock.

"Look. Aslan's return, Tumnus' arrest, the secret police, it's all happening because of you!" The Male Beaver explained,

"You're blaming us?!" Susan asked defensively, crossing her arms.

"No! Not blaming, Thanking you!" Mrs Beaver smiled gently.

"There's a prophecy." Mr Beaver began,
"When Adam's flesh and Adam's bone sits at Cair Paravel in throne, the evil time will be over and done."

"You know that doesn't really rhyme..." Eliza commented, her head resting on her hand as she listened to it.

"Yeah, I know it don't," Mr Beaver said, obviously flustered, "but you're kinda missin' the point!"

"It has long been foretold that two Sons of Adam and three Daughters of Eve will defeat the White Witch and restore peace to Narnia." Mrs Beaver spoke up excitedly.

"...And you think we're the ones?" Peter asked, it was obvious he was unsure it could even be possible.

"Well you'd better be, 'cause Aslan's already fitted out your army."

"Our army?!" Lucy interrupted, her eyes widening, making Eliza sit up straight.

"Mum sent us away so we wouldn't get caught up in a war." Susan groaned lowly in despair.

"I think you've made a mistake. We're not heroes!" Peter spoke over his sisters groans.

"We're from Finchley." Eliza added, raising a curious brow at the beavers. They were five kids from London and now they were expected to save an entire world?!

"Thank you for your hospitality. But we really have to go." Susan stated standing up, quickly followed by Eliza.

"No, you can't just leave!" Mr Beaver protested, trying to stop their possible saviours from leaving.

"He's right." Lucy said forlornly, "We have to help Mr. Tumnus."

"It's out of our hands." Peter whispered, "I'm sorry, but it's time the five of us were getting home. Ed? Ed?!" Eliza spun around and noticed her twins disappearance.

The girl ran outside into the snowy surroundings, calling out for her brother who was no where in sight. Of course this would happen. Of course Edmund would go wandering around in a foreign world.

"I'm going to kill him." Peter hissed, looking out at Eliza who was now desperately calling out Edmunds name.

"You may not have to." Mr. beaver asked carefully, while Peter glanced at his sisters in worry, "Has Edmund ever been to Narnia before?"

ELIZA FELL INTO the snow for the hundredth time, as they scrambled to catch up with Edmund, who walked through the heavy snow, alone without his coat.

"Hurry!" Peter persisted, waving at Susan and Lucy to catch up, while Eliza and him took the lead. The four finally reached the top of the hill, the temperature had dropped significantly and in front of them, in the distance last a castle completely made of ice. A small figure, which the siblings could only presume was Edmund could be seen going through the Witch's castle gates.

Lucy whimpered audibly, "Edmund!" She shouted loudly, as Mr Beaver joined them

"Shh! They'll hear ya!" The beaver whisper-yelled, hushing the smaller girl. Eliza took a deep breath in and started to run after her brother only to have Mr. Beaver leech onto her by the sleeve of her coat.

"No!" The beaver yelled as Eliza continued to struggle to break free. That was her brother and he was potentially walking towards his doom.

"Get off me!" The girl yelled, only to be pulled back by Peter, who refused to let the persistent girl go.

"You're playing into her hands." The beaver tried to explain, only to be interrupted by the siblings.

"We just can't let him go!" Susan protested, her brows furrowed in worry.

"He's our brother!" Lucy cried out,
over Susan's statement as they watched Edmunds figure enter the castle gates.

"He's the bait! The Witch wants all five of ya!" Mr Beaver yelled, making the Pevensie's cease all protests and glance at each other.

"Why?" Peter asked, trying to hide the fact his voice was shaking.

"To stop the prophecy from coming true! To kill ya!" The beaver blurt out, The four children stared in horror at the beaver.

"This is all your fault." Susan burst out in anger, pointing an accusing finger at Peter.

"My fault?!" Peter shot back in anger, now letting go of Eliza to turn to Susan in rage.

"None of this would have happened if you had just listened to me in the first place!" Susan snapped, her voice growing louder by the second, while Eliza couldn't move her eyes from the castle. Her brother could be dying in there, she'd basically already had lost her mother and father, she couldn't lose Ed.

"Oh, so you knew this would happen?" Peter fumed, stepping closer to Susan.

"I didn't know what would happen." Susan exclaimed, "Which is why we should have left while we still could!".

"STOP IT!" Eliza yelled over her bickering siblings, looking down at the snow beneath her, trying to find the words to say.

"This isn't going to help Edmund." Lucy finished the girls sentence, looking at her sister with a frown.

"She's right." Mr Beaver sighed, "Only Aslan can save your brother now."

"Then take us to him." Eliza said firmly, as the four watched as the gates shut behind Edmund, the girls jaw clenched and she swore she'd save her brother, even if it was the last thing she'd do.
