ELIZA SQUINTED AS her eyes opened, exposing her to the blinding rays of sunshine, bouncing off the blue water ahead. Her head throbbed and her entire body felt groggy as her eyes drifted around her surroundings. She went to raise her hand before a loud crack indicated it was shackled to the wall behind her.

"You slept through the night." Lucy stated, causing Eliza to whip her head towards her younger sister, who was shackled up beside her.

"They plan on selling us today." Lucy spoke, her hollow voice echoing around the cell, "I overhead some men last night." Eliza went to reply but was cut off by a loud whine.

"Selling us?!" Eustace exclaimed, making the eldest girl roll her eyes at his dramatics. "This is all your fault! You took me out of England and now we're going to die!"

"Who said anything about dying, Eustace?" Eliza scoffed, shifting on the rocky floor, "-and we didn't want you here to begin with but tough luck, here you are. Now I suggest you grow up before I slap you all the way to America."

The boy immediately quietened down. Eliza knew she shouldn't have snapped but it had to be done, she couldn't think straight about anything when Eustace was constantly complaining. Eliza let her eyes drift down the line, noticing more creatures and citizens tied up.

A loud noise filled the air, sending Eliza into alert, her head snapping towards the iron gates situated to her far left. A horse pulled a large wooden cart, holding civilians in it, through the gates. A man could be seen chasing after the cart, his cries echoing off of the stone surroundings.

"NO, PLEASE! NO!" The man pleaded, latching onto a woman in the cart only to be met with a sharp hit from one of the slave traders.

"Mommy!" The little girl exclaimed, chasing after the cart before stopping at her fathers defeated body. From beside her, Eliza could feel Lucy tense causing the eldest girl's sisterly instincts kick in.

"Luce, it's okay." She whispered quietly as the youngest girl lay her head on Eliza's shoulder, "Remember what Caspian told Drinian? He told Drinian to send a party if we weren't back by sunrise. I swear to Aslan, that you will leave this island unharmed!"

Lucy nodded and buried her head into her sisters shoulder, while the older girl watched in horror. In front of them, the people from the cart had been ushered into a row boat that was now drifting out to sea. Eliza squinted as a green mist bounced on the horizon. Surely, her eyes were deceiving her but as the mist drew closer to the rowboat, surrounding it, the boat vanished, startling the older girl.

"Oh my Aslan..." Eliza whispered in disbelief her eyes not leaving the sea ahead. Before they knew it, a guard had swooped in, unshackling Lucy from the wall, her handcuffs still on. As a crowd formed in the square to their left, it was obvious the auction had begun.

Eliza could hear numbers being called out but she paid no attention, trying to think of ways to escape safely. This continued until a man appeared in front of her unshackling the older girl. As if reading her mind, the man tightened her restraints.

"Uh-uh, we're not going to have another redo of last time." He snarled, "Behave or your little friends will find themselves taking a short trip into the misty waters."

Eliza fell silent, although a look of fearlessness plastered itself across her face. She wouldn't show them how terrified she was, because she knew it would only give them an advantage but Eliza couldn't help but feel the pit in her stomach grow larger. She was dragged onto a small makeshift stage in front of the crowd, her eyes staring straight ahead and her lips pursed.

"Now, where should we start the bidding for this lil' Lady, huh?" The man beside her called out.

"I offer 60!"

"I bid 80!"

"100 for the little lady."

"120!"

"150!"

"200!"

"Anymore bids?" The man beside her mused, Eliza scoffed in disgust as her gaze landed on the man who'd bid last.

"SOLD!" The man beside her cried, as the man who'd bid roughly grabbed her by the restraints and pulled her into the crowd. The man was soon trying to usher her away from the crowd as the man on stage tried to urge for the people to put prices forward for Eustace.

"I'll take them off your hands." A voice stated, causing everyone, including the man ushering Eliza away, to turn towards them. "I'll take them all out of your hands!"

The man threw off his hood, revealing Drinian with Reepicheep perched on his shoulder. Chaos erupted around them as more Narnians revealed themselves and began attacking the traders.

"For Narnia!" Reepicheep cried out before jumping off of Drinian's shoulder. The man behind her, who still had an iron grip on the girls shoulder tried to move forward but a surge of energy burst through Eliza.

The girl twisted around, throwing her shackled hands around the back of the mans neck before pulling them down. This motion caused the unsuspecting mans face to smash into her raised knee. The girl let the man drop to the floor before escaping towards the town square where the main fight was occurring.

She felt a small feeling of panic as she checked her side for her sword, only to discover that it was no longer in its sheath on her hip. Eliza groaned lowly before being swiftly locked in a headlock from behind.

The girl clawed at the mans arms before throwing her head back and straight into the traders face, causing him to stumble. Out of the  corner of her eye she spotted Eustace fleeing cover, running towards the dock. Eliza glanced towards where he'd been sheltered and sure enough, a pair of silver keys glinted in the light.

Eliza weaved through the fight, diving into the shelter and fumbling for the keys. She slid the key into the lock and soon her aching wrists were free of restraints. She quickly scrambled to her feet, glancing around the fight for Lucy, Edmund and Caspian.

Eliza ducked as a man swung his sword in her direction. She stuck out her foot, tripping the man, before robbing his sword and running off into the midst of the fight. The girl found herself surrounded by chaos as the citizens of the Lone Islands came to their aid, and soon the traders had been defeated.

Eliza managed to locate Caspian and Edmund, along with Lucy, who had been found during the fight by Caspian. The eldest girl ran towards the three, throwing down the stolen sword in the process.

"Thank goodness you are alright!" Eliza grinned, throwing her arms around her brother, she practically squeezed him to death despite his struggles to get the girl to unlatch.

"Get off!" Edmund grumbled, trying to conceal a small smile as Eliza slowly detached herself from him.

"Lighten up, Eddie!"

"Where's Eustace?" Lucy piped up, her curiosity beating her.

"Drowned, hopefully!"

"Edmund!"

ELIZA WALKED WITH a smile beside Caspian, Edmund and Lucy as they made their way towards the harbour. People stood on either side of the street cheering and clapping for their Narnian saviours. Eliza had regained her sword, and it was now dangling from her hip like always.

"Your majesty!" A man called out, rushing towards Caspian. Eliza's hand immediately went to her sword but after she took a proper look at the man she recognised him to be the same man, who chased after the cart earlier that day. "Wait!"

"My wife was taken just this morning." The man explained, while Caspian listened intently. A little girl ran up to the man, calling out for him, but the man paid no attention. "I beg you, take me with you."

"I want to come!" The girl cried out, tugging on her fathers sleeve as another woman approached her. Eliza felt a large pang through her heart at the sight of the girls crestfallen face.

"No, Gael. Stay with your aunt." The man ordered, he refocused his attention on Caspian "I am a fine sailor, been on the seas my whole life."

Caspian glanced at Edmund before turning towards the man, "Of course, you must." He replied, causing the man to thank him graciously.

The little girl began to protest, but her father cut her off, "If I ever not come back..." He whispered, crouching down and pulling the girl into a tight hug. "Now be good."

Eliza couldn't help but feel saddened watching the interaction, so as Edmund, Caspian, Lucy, the man and the Narnians continued to walk, the girl hesitated. She took a deep breath in before swiftly walking towards the little girl.

"Hello...you're Gael, right?" Eliza spoke softly, bending down to speak with her. The little girl nodded and Eliza couldn't help but see a young Lucy Pevensie flash before her eyes. Many people's eyes were on the two girls, but Eliza didn't care.

"Now, Gael...you are so much stronger than you look." Eliza smiled, "When I look at you, I see a courageous young girl...never lose that."

The little girl nodded and Eliza stood up slowly, "I'll make sure he returns." She whispered lightly, before bidding the girl a quick goodbye and running after her siblings and the Narnians.

Eliza weaved through the crowds stopping beside Caspian, Edmund and Lucy as a man stood in front of them holding a sword which was covered in barnacles. Eliza analysed the shape and the hilt before her eyes widened.

"Is that an old Narnian sword?" she questioned, causing the older man ahead to smile widely.

"It's from your Golden Age." The man nodded, "There are seven of those swords. Gifts from Aslan to protect Narnia. Your father entrusted them to us. Here. Take it, and it may protect you."

Caspian took the sword the man had offered him, "Thank you, my Lord." He spike, his eyes running over the sword he now held. "And we shall find your citizens."

The Lord nodded and together, Caspian, Eliza, Lucy and Edmund walked towards the boats to bring them back to the Dawn Treader before Caspian faltered and silently handed Edmund the old Narnian sword.

Eliza grinned at her brothers expression. She could tell the boy was envious that Peters sword now belonged to Caspian, but now he held something that would belong exclusively to him.

Eliza hopped into the boat, lending Lucy a hand in, "Edmund, come on!" Lucy called out, snapping Edmund from his daze. The boys soon joined them and yet again, they were back on the Narnian seas.

The sun twinkled along the horizon, and despite all the chaos Narnia held, Eliza wouldn't want to be anywhere but here.
