[SEASON 3: EPISODE 2]

SITTING in the car with Johnny and Daniel wasn't a bad thing. They wanted to look for Robby, and Katherine had begged Daniel for her to go. Reluctantly, he gave in and now she was in the backseat of the car, Daniel in the driver's seat and Johnny being the passenger princess, though he was literally sleeping. Once he woke up, Daniel gave him a drink, "Hey. Got you a juice. Advil's in the glove department." He said. "Looks like sewage." Johnny eyed the bottle. "Suck it up. If we find Robby, you might wanna be awake." Daniel looked at Johnny as he retorted, "Well, drive faster then. Feel like I'm in a rocking chair." Katherine nodded and spoke up, "He's not wrong."

Daniel smiled sarcastically at the both of them. Johnny scrunched his nose in disgust as he drank the green juice. He turned on the radio, and increased the volume. "Knock it off." Said Daniel, turning off the radio. "We're on a mission."

"What are we supposed to do, drive all day looking for a van?" Johnny retorted. "No, but hopefully our mutual friend can point us in the right direction." Daniel said as they reached the rehab facility. They all got out of the car, walking to the door. "This is what rehab's like?" Johnny asked. "This is one of the best facilities in the country." Daniel opened the door. Two women passed them, smiling at Johnny. "Hey." He said. "Focus, will ya? We're here on business, not pleasure." Daniel and them walked to a lady who said, "Welcome to Malibu Canyon Recovery." She looked at Johnny, "You're doing a very brave thing." She smiled sincerely. Katherine snickered, one hand going to her mouth to cover her laugh. "What?" Johnny asked, clueless. And then, realization set in. "No, I'm not checking in. I'm no quitter."

"I understand. It can be hard at first." The woman looked at Daniel, "Don't worry, he'll get used to it." Daniel chuckled, "I'm sure he will." The woman past them and they all made their way outside, laughing. "Yeah, laugh it up, LaRusso." Johnny said.

Walking outside, they saw Robby's mom sitting on a chair. "Shannon." Daniel greeted, and she looked up, instantly smiling at Daniel and Katherine. "Hi." She hugged Daniel. "Hi, sweetheart." She said to Katherine. Kat smiled and waved in return before Shannon turned her attention to Daniel, "It's so good to see you." Shannon said, "You too." Daniel replied. "Oh, please tell Amanda I said thank you. That lavender essential oil she sent really did help with my insomnia." Daniel nodded, "You still going to the Kudos and Concerns meetings on Wednesdays?" He asked, Shannon nodding. "Yes, I am."

"That's great." Daniel said. Johnny cleared his throat, making his presence known. "Hi, Johnny." Shannon looked at him. "Hey." Johnny nodded, "You look good."

"You... too." Shannon replied. "Thank you." Johnny looked at her. She sighed, "When Daniel said that he wanted to talk about Robby, I really wasn't expecting the two of you together, and of course, Katherine."

"Yeah, well.. whatever it takes to find our son." Johnny responded. "I really wanted to take a break from here so I could go look for him, but my life coach advised me against it." Shannon looked at Daniel. "Your life coach?" Johnny asked, making Shannon look at him. "Might as well set your money on fire." He continued. "Johnny, rehab has done wonders for me. It works for a lot of people, actually." Shannon countered. "Great. I'm glad you're doing better, I really am. But I don't need some rehab vacation." Said Johnny.

"That's because your idea of vacation is going to some monster truck show." Shannon shot back as Katherine laughed quietly at the two. "Hey, Truckasaurus was badass. You loved every minute of it." Johnny pointed an accusing finger at her, "I was faking." Shannon revealed. "Bullshit. I know when you're faking." Johnny said before Daniel cut their bickering off. "Guys. Guys. We just really need to know if you have any idea where Robby might've gone with the car, you know him the best."

"All I know is whenever Robby got in trouble, those dimwits weren't far behind." She admitted. "What dimwits?" Questioned Johnny. "Uh, one looks like Chris Brown, the other one looks vaguely Latin." She described. "Great. Tweedledumb and Tweedledumbass." Johnny sighed, making Kat laugh at the nicknames. "How are we supposed to find those dirt bags?" He asked as Daniel sighed, "I know where they are."

WALKING in, Daniel, Katherine and Johnny sat down at one of the tables. "Worse than rehab, nicer than jail." Johnny commented, looking at Daniel. "Just let me do all the talking." He replied. "We're not selling bimmers to soccer moms. This is my world, follow my lead." Johnny countered. The officer came, forcing the two on the seat. "Bitch-ass Kevin James punk." Cruz muttered, before looking at Katherine with a smirk. "Hey, morons." Johnny snapped his fingers in their face. "Hey, what?" They asked defensively.

"We're looking for Robby." Daniel quickly cut in. "If y'all three are the search party, I say he's pretty screwed." They both laughed. "Start talking or you'll be drinking your toilet wine through a straw." Threatened Johnny. "Ooh! Robby daddy talking a big game, ain't he? Does it look like we scared of you?" Trey looked at him. "You should be."

"I don't think so, man. Look at your face. Looks like you already got your ass beat." They both laughed again. "Shut up!" Katherine said at the same time Daniel slammed his hands on the table, standing up. "Enough! Cut the crap and tell us everything you know about Robby." He slowly sat back down, "Ok. All right, man. Damn. Relax. We ain't mean no disrespect." Trey said. "Sorry, Mr. LaRusso, pretty girl." Cruz apologized, looking at both of them. Daniel nodded, and Johnny snapped. "What the hell? You listen to him and not to me?"

"He know how to kick ass." "Yeah, and he ain't no punk-ass bitch." They both said. Johnny had enough, seeing as he smacked Cruz across the face and making him fall off the seat. Kat widened her eyes. "Johnny, what the hell?" Daniel looked at him.

"He just hit me!" Cruz said to the officer who just shrugged, looking away. "You don't see that?" Trey asked the officer, as Johnny smacked him again, this time blood coming out of his nose. "Enough!" Daniel said. "Better start talking. I can do this all day." Johnny raised his hand threateningly. "No. Hey, hey, hey. It's not necessary." Trey denied. "Cool. All right? Look, we all used to scam people at Tech Town in Panorama City. He knows how to get by around there. All right?" He admitted.

"You better be telling the truth or I'm sending him back alone next time." Daniel warned, pointing at Johnny. "Might wanna get your friend here a tampon." Johnny said, as they all stood up. Kat furrowed her eyebrows, "Uh that's not-"

DRIVING yet again, Johnny opened a pack of Corn Nuts and ate one, chewing loudly. "Can you be careful with those? I don't wanna be digging them out of the upholstery for five years." Said Daniel, but Johnny took another one and put it in his mouth, leaning over to Daniel's ear and chewing it loudly. "Thanks." Daniel smiled sarcastically. "We have to talk about what we're gonna do when we find Robby."

"He's my son. I'll talk to him." Replied Johnny. "That's always gone well." Daniel muttered, earning a smack from Katherine in the back. "What did you say?" Johnny looked at him. "Nothing." Daniel denied as Johnny looked at Kat in the back. "What did he say?" Katherine frowned, shrugging her shoulders. Before Johnny could question further, Daniel's cell phone rings over the car speaker, making Johnny look around frantically. "Your car's ringing." Katherine laughed at his comment as Daniel answered it. "Hey, honey." Daniel said to Amanda.

"Hey. Where are you?" Amanda asked through the speaker. "I'm in the car. Kat's with me, and so is Johnny Lawrence."

"Oh. Hi, Johnny. Kat, what is she doing there?" She asked, "Oh. Hey, Amanda." Katherine laughed as Johnny fully leaned into Daniel. "All right. You know what? Lean back. You just talk normally." Daniel shooed him away with his hand. "All right? We got a new lead on Robby." Daniel replied to Amanda.

"A lead? What are you, Tango and Cash? Also, is Kat safe?" "No, Tango and Cash were narcotics detectives. This is a totally different thing." Johnny replied at the same time Daniel said, "Yeah, Kat's safe with us."

"Good. And I'm sorry. My mistake." Amanda replied sarcastically. "We're on the trail right now, we just need to check out this info." Daniel said. "Yeah, scumbags at the prison gave it up easy. Couple of pussies." Continued Johnny, as Katherine's eyes widened. "Shit." She muttered. "I'm sorry, did you say prison?!" Amanda practically screamed, knowing that her daughter was with them. "We were just talking to a couple of guys who knew Robby." Daniel covered.

"They wouldn't talk so we had to smack 'em around a little bit." Johnny said yet again, "Mom is so gonna kill me." Katherine muttered, covering her face and leaning back in her seat. "You did what?" Amanda asked sternly. "I didn't smack anyone around, honey. It was more of a good cop, bad cop situation." Daniel assured. "Actually, it's more of a no cop situation. You do realize neither one of you are cops, right?" She said.

"Yeah, but we got the information we needed." Countered Daniel. "Guy coughed it up like a chicken bone. He cried" Johnny laughed. "Ok, I'm gonna go on the record and say I'm against this entire operation."

"We just need to find him before the police do, ok? I don't want his life to get destroyed if I can help it." Daniel said sternly. "I know, Daniel. Just... be careful. And please keep my daughter safe." Amanda sighed. "I will." Daniel nodded before ending the call. He shook his head, "You had to mention the prison, right? Of course you did." Johnny looked at him. "I'm not lying to your wife for you." Daniel rolled his eyes, "All right." Johnny threw a corn nut in the air, about to catch it with his mouth but failed as the corn nut fell to the floor. He looked down in his seat, trying to find it as Katherine laughed quietly in the back, Daniel shaking his head and focusing on the road.

ARRIVING at the gas station, Johnny put in the gas as Daniel had went inside the store to ask the cashier if he saw Robby. Katherine fell asleep in the backseat, being too tired and bored. And she also woke up early. Daniel walked to Johnny, "Cashier hasn't seen him. Here, I got you what you wanted." Daniel gave Johnny the food. "Tech Town's just down the block. We should ask around there."

"Maybe we can get 'em to give us the security cam footage." Johnny started eating, looking at Daniel. "I can't believe you eat that crap." Daniel exasperated. "What? You too good for gas station food?" Asked Johnny. Daniel thought for a moment, "Yeah, I am."

Daniel got a notification, and he checked it, seeing a message from Amanda. "Oh, thank god."

"What? Is it Robby?" Johnny immediately asked. "No, Miguel." Daniel showed him the text.

Amanda: Good news! Miguel's out of the coma!! Please tell Johnny.

"Amanda says he woke up." Said Daniel. "That's great." Johnny sighed. "Some good news for once, huh?"

"Yeah. It's really good." Johnny agreed. Once the gas pump clicks, Johnny takes it out and puts it back. Daniel turned around, seeing something that caught his eye. "Hey, wait a second. Isn't that a..." He pointed at the car, Johnny finishing his sentence. "It's a Dodge Caravan."

A guy came out of the car, "That's the car. Hey. Hey, you!" Daniel shouted at him. The guy started getting back in the car. Johnny made his way to the driver's seat, "What do you think you're doing?" Daniel asked. "Driving." Johnny opened the car door. "Like hell you are." Replied Daniel. "Fine, I'll go without you." Johnny decided, getting in the car. Starting the engine, Daniel abruptly sat in the car. "Just take it easy!" Daniel said. Katherine was peacefully sleeping in the back, getting more comfortable and laying down fully. "Man, this thing can fly!" Johnny said. "Easy, leadfoot. Just follow him." Daniel said simply. "He's not getting away from me." Johnny finalized, driving faster.

"Red light. Red light!" Daniel exclaimed. Johnny drove faster, a determined look on his face. "Jesus!" Daniel said, looking back. "Slow down." He ordered Johnny. Though he didn't listen, "Where do you think you're going?"

"Come on, take it easy. My daughter's in the back." Daniel said. "Relax, I'm a great driver. Besides, your daughter's sleeping." Johnny replied.

A car came, Daniel screeching, "Look out!" Johnny immediately blocked the car, going around him, but crashing the side window. "Oh, that's just perfect!" Daniel said, looking at the broken side window. "You got insurance." Johnny assured. "Where do you think you're going? What are you doing?"

Finally reaching, the guy came out of the car and hurriedly went inside the building. "Look alive. We gotta pursue on foot." Johnny opened the car door, "On foot? Wait. What? No, no foot!" Daniel denied. "Wait. Hey, Johnny. This has gone far enough. Johnny!" Daniel yelled after him. Johnny got out of the car, running to the building. Daniel looked back at Katherine, reluctantly getting out of the car and running to the building as well.

WAKING up, Katherine yawned, her expression turning into a scowl, noticing she's at a random building. She looked around for Johnny and Daniel, yet she couldn't find them. Finally, Daniel came out, Johnny on his trail. "You're the one that came to me, LaRusso. Don't do it again." She heard Johnny say. Daniel reached the car, and then turned around, "Yeah, don't worry. I won't. I can't believe you actually taught kids."

"Yeah, you're some great teacher. Look what happened to Robby." Retorted Johnny. Daniel sighed, "I'm willing to admit when I fail, ok? And maybe I did. Maybe he just has a little too much of you in him." Johnny looked down before turning away and walking to the Dodge Caravan. "Where you going?" Daniel asked. "I got somewhere to be." Johnny got inside the car, closing the door and driving away. "You better return that car to the dealership!" Daniel yelled after Johnny before getting back in the car and looking at Kat. "Hey, you okay?" He asked. She nodded. "Just sleepy."

Daniel nodded when he received a phone call, he picked it up, "Hello? No, no, it's just me and Katherine. Johnny's..." Though he trailed off, "Ok, ok, slow down. All right, I'm on my way." He ended the phone call.

"Dad? What happened?" Katherine asked.

"We found Robby."

REACHING the rehab facility once again, they both instantly got out of the car and going to where Shannon was. Katherine's heart jumped seeing Robby in the chair, eating a sandwich. Shannon walked over to them, sending a smile to Kat before turning to Daniel. "Is he ok?" Daniel asked. "He's not right, Daniel." As the two were conversing, Kat made her way over to Robby, sitting in the chair across from him.

Robby looked at her with surprise, his face immediately softening at the sight of her. "I found you again." She smiled. "I guess you did." Robby replied. Before she could continue, Daniel came in, "Hey." Daniel sat on the chair next to Katherine. "Nice cut." He complimented.

"Sorry you've been stuck clearing up my mess." Robby looked at him with a sad look that made Katherine almost cry. "I'll pay you back for the van. I..." He trailed off. "I didn't think that van was your style anyway. Look, I know it must've been rough on your own out there. We're all worried about you. Your dad too. Robby, I need to apologize to you." Daniel leaned forward.

"But I caused all of this. I'm the one who kicked Miguel off the-" "I know you blame yourself, but I let you down. What I said to you the last time we saw each other, that was... terrible. I'm so sorry." Daniel cut Robby off. "No, but you were right. It was a mistake trying to help me because I can't change." Robby said.

"That's not true." Katherine frowned. Robby looked at her, smiling slightly as Daniel nodded. "We all make mistakes, Robby. But our mistakes aren't who we are. You could learn from your mistakes. And I'll help you with that. I will. Listen..." Daniel looked down, then looking back up at Robby. "This next part is gonna be really, really hard, ok? But this is the best way forward." Kat frowned, "Dad, what are you talking about?"

Daniel looked at her before looking back at Robby who held the same confused look. "I spoke to a lawyer and he explained to me that it's-" Daniel got cut off as a police officer came, all of them standing up as Robby's chair fell down. "Dad, what the hell?" She said, "What did you do?" Robby asked. "I told them that you're gonna turn yourself in." Daniel admitted, Katherine staring at wide-eyed with anger. What the hell?  "Trust me, the sentence will be much lighter this way."

"No, no, no, I can't!" Robby protested, "You can, and you have to, Robby." Daniel explained. "You just kept me talking so I wouldn't leave." Robby said. "No, I was trying to help you." Countered Daniel. Robby started running away, the officer grabbing him easily. "Hey. Hey! Easy with him!" Daniel shouted. "Robby, this is only temporary. I will get you through this, ok? I will visit you every day, I promise." Daniel finalized, looking at Robby. "Don't bother." Replied Robby as the officer led him away. He looked back at Katherine one more time, sending her a smile that made Kat's heart broke.

Tears pooled her eyes, and she didn't even notice it started streaming down her face. Daniel pulled her into a hug but she pulled away. She didn't want to talk to her father after lying to her. After not telling her that he had called the cops on Robby.
