WHEN CECILE GAINED CONSCIOUSNESS, her eyes slowly fluttered open, still a headache pounding in her head. She looked to her right to see both Stefan and Damon, sitting sleepily on the chairs that were in her hospital room.
The brothers noticed movement and lifted their heads up instantaneously at their niece, walking to both sides of her bed.
"Argh, what happened?" Cecile looked at her uncles who seemed to have a worried look on their faces, troubled by the fact that she doesn't remember.
"Do you not remember what happened?" Stefan looked into her eyes, trying to find if there was anything wrong with Cecile. It worried the brothers that she couldn't remember, wondering if there was anything else wrong with their niece.
"Um, I remember that I was about to get ice cream with Kol, then Uncle Damon came and became a buzzkill, but after that, I don't remember anything. Where is Kol, by the way?"
Worry was visible in Stefan and Damon's eyes, hoping there was nothing too serious with her. Right when Stefan was going to ask Cecile more questions, the doctor came in with a smile that didn't seem too convincing.
"Hello, Cecile. I'm Doctor Rogers, and I'm your doctor for today. So it seems that you fainted and hit your head. Can you look up real quick?" The doctor flashed a light in Cecile's eyes, trying to decipher her pupil dilation.
He started to write notes on his clipboard, leaving a very impatient Damon. "Hey, can you hurry up? What's wrong with her? She has never fainted like this before."
"Well from the tests and scans, everything seems to be normal." Stefan and Damon shook their heads in denial, knowing that there has to be something wrong with Cecile. Tired of the antics, Damon aggressively stared into the doctor's eyes, his pupil dilating.
"Do some more damn tests and tell us honestly what you see." Doctor Rogers walked away, as Stefan and Cecile both put a hand on their forehead from Damon's actions.
"Uncle Damon, why did you have to do that? If the tests say I'm fine, then I'm fine." Even though she didn't necessarily feel fine due to the headache, Cecile tried to put on her happy face so her uncles didn't have to worry. It was no use since they constantly worry about her.
It was one thing Cecile hated as a human. She loved being human of course, but there were times where she would feel like a burden to her friends and family. Getting out of the negative thoughts, Stefan's phone started to ring, making Cecile furrow her eyebrows.
"Yeah, okay, I'll be there." Stefan hung up the phone and had an apologetic look. "Elena needs me, I got to go, I'm sorry Cecile, I'll see you at home." Stefan gave her a look of sorrow as he kissed her forehead, leaving the room right after.
Cecile huffed in frustration. Even at an important time like this, Elena found her way to burrow her uncle out of her life. Again. It was a constant routine in her life now, Elena has a way to take her uncles away from her and they won't hesitate to go to Elena.
"Can't believe Elena just did that." Damon just sat there in silence, not sure what to say since he too cared for Elena.
"Can you say something please?" Cecile was pleading for Damon to finally, for once, take her side instead of Elena's, but what he said next tore her heart in half.
"Maybe there actually was an issue. It did sound like an emergency." The long stare that she gave Damon was unmistakable that her heart stopped. It was official. Elena has taken over both of her uncles and to Cecile, it seemed that Stefan and Damon cared more for the doppelgänger, rather than their very own niece.
"I can't believe you right now, you know what, go fuc-" before Cecile could finish that vulgar word, a loud crash coming outside her room, interrupted the argument.
"Stay here."
"Not like I can go anywhere." Cecile pointed to her IV drip, making Damon roll his eyes. He went outside the hospital room and before he could go far, Damon let out a groan, blood starting to come out his stomach, a metal bar penetrating his body.
"You know, it's rude to interrupt a date, especially when it's your alluring niece." Kol walked into Cecile's hospital room, his mood slightly dampening at the sight of her.
"Oh love, come on, let's take you back to my home." Before she could ask questions, Cecile was already in the arms of Kol, him flashing back to his home.

When Kol arrived back at home, he placed Cecile on the living room sofa, making Elijah eye her conspicuously, wondering what she was doing in their home.
"Cecile." Elijah closed the book he was reading, putting all of his attention on the girl. "What happened? Why are you in hospital attire?"
"Well, the last thing I remember was getting ice cream with Kol, and apparently, I fainted as my nose was bleeding." Elijah looked at her sympathetically. He actually enjoyed the girl's presence and it pained him to see her hurt in any way.
"Let me see if mother left any herbs behind. It could possibly help with the-"
"Kol is already on that. He told me he wanted to give me herbs since he didn't trust human intelligence." Cecile said the last part as if she was mocking Kol.
This made Elijah smile lightly. He has never seen his brother care for someone more than himself. Kol hadn't come back from the living for long, but it was noticeable that Cecile had some sort of effect on him.
"Elijah, do you know why Kol is-- oh, why hello, Cecile. What brings you into my home?" Cecile wanted to slap away the smirk that was on Klaus' face. It was no doubt that many people feared Klaus, but to Cecile, he was just an annoying hybrid that she would probably get her eyes stuck from rolling them too much because of him.
"Wow, and just like that, my headache came back. Thanks, Klaus." He gave her his signature smile and walked away, knowing his job was done.
"Found it!" Kol came running down the stairs, holding a small glass with herbs in it. "I'll make some tea for you and whatever that fiasco was earlier. Should get your pretty self back on your feet." Kol gave Cecile a wink and she fake gagged at him.
Not too long after, Kol came back to the living room with a cup of tea in his hand. He gave it to Cecile and she drank it quickly. Once she finished the very last sip of the tea, she put the cup down on the glass table in front of her.
"Thanks, Kol. I hope that did something." Cecile chucked slightly and Kol just stared keenly into her eyes. Elijah noticed the pair staring at each other and he couldn't help but smirk.
"Well now, I have some business to attend to. It was good to see you, Cecile." Elijah got up from his seat and gave a pat on Kol's back. After a small silence, Kol spoke up.
"Back at the hospital, I overheard you arguing with your uncle. Darling, you don't deserve to be treated like that. A woman as beautiful as you deserves to be treated right. And I think I can show you what you deserve." Kol had his signature smirk, yet, his tone of voice was in a non-joking matter. He genuinely cared for the girl, even though she probably did not feel the same way.
"Yeah, I'm pretty upset at them. I just hope one day, they will finally care for me as much as they do for Elena." Kol shifted closer to Cecile, their bodies so close together, their heat was radiating off of each other.
"Would you like me to take care of Elena? I would gladly take care of that little-"
"No, no, it's fine. After all, she used to be one of my best friends, it wouldn't be right." Kol looked at her sadly, hating the sight of her like this. Before he could say anything else, the doorbell rang, making Kol get up from his seat.
As he answered the door, Kol let out a shriek of pain, a vervain darts shooting him in his buffed chest. Cecile got up from her seat and saw the person she dreaded most of the day.
"Surprise, bitches." Damon and Stefan walked into the mansion, already being invited from the Mikaelson ball.
"Come on kiddo, you're coming with us." Damon picked up Cecile and carried her over his shoulder. She tried to get out, but it was no use since Damon was too strong. As Stefan was taking care of the other originals, Damon threw his niece in the car, soon later, the trio driving off back at home, leaving a very angry Cecile for an argument later that night.
