CH01: NEW SCHOOL

I'm pretty sure you've all heard the story once of spider-man, he saves the city multiple times and is constantly getting himself injured but he still loves being spider-man. miracle right?

Me on the other hand, I'm just a normal teenager with two friends named miles and nico. they're always making jokes to one another and that's our friendship. we love being around each other and our friendship can never break. well, I hope it doesn't.

I had on my uniform for our new school that all three of us were going too, it was hard to make new friends but luckily we were the only ones who knew each other. I'm just wondering how this new school will go.

I stood at the entrances of miles home, waiting for him to come out. once I saw him, he was with his mom who was placing kisses on his cheek. my mom and her knew each other from way back, including Nico's. as a matter of fact, where was he?

I chuckled and miles looked over at me in embarrassment, "Act like you didn't see that." Miles spoke while adverting my face the other way, I just rolled my eyes playfully.

"I saw nothing." I joked and then glanced at his uniform seeing he was wearing the same colors as me, "I'm not ready for this new school." a sigh escaped my lips.

"Neither of us are my friends!" I felt someone wrap their arms around our shoulders, me and miles already knew who it was.

I turned around and saw nico, his auburn skin glistening in the sun. he had a small piercing on his nose and his long hair was in a wolfcut with bangs and he had dark green undertones. his hair was black but the tips of his hair which was undertones had dark green on them. he was wearing the same uniforms we were but had added a little style, he had a silver cross necklace with brown converse and a couple of black rings on his fingers, only two though. his light brown eyes and freckles showing his natural features.

"Man, where were you?" I asked with a small groan of annoyance, he snapped his fingers together, Nico giggled, "Getting ready for school. my mom was a bit mad I was taking so long."

Me and Miles looked at each other before we burst out laughing, Nico looked at both of us and furrowed his eyebrows, wondering why we were laughing.

"What? what's so funny? guys!" Nico shouted and ran after us, we still hadn't answered him as we kept laughing.

Me, Nico, and Miles were slapping stamps on every surface we could and were running, passing the people by us.

Nico did a jump on one of the stop signs and he tripped, causing miles to fall down with him. they both groaned and I just shook my head disappointedly.

A police car stopped in front of them both which made nico lift his head slightly before groaning again, "Oh, come on." Miles said.

We all sat in the car, nico was still staring up at the car ceiling while he was still groaning, I was just laughing at this under my breath. Miles was looking like a deer in the headlights while he kept staring up at the ceiling too.

"Seriously, dad. walking would've been fine." Miles suddenly spoke and Nico nodded in agreement, "I second that." he added.

"Y'all can walk plenty on saturday when y'all peel those stickers off." Mr.Morales said, Nico scratched his neck nervously.

Nico chuckled nervously while scratching the back of his neck while looking to the side, "You saw that? I don't know if that was me, Mr.Morales." he lied.

Mr.Morales squinted his eyes at nico with a knowing look, "Want me to tell your mom what you did?" that word made nico quickly sit up straight while shaking his head.

"Nah, nah I'm good." Nico said rather quickly, I chuckled and just shook my head. my mom was a police officer too so she might've probably already knew.

It was quiet in the car for awhile which was comfortable, we then heard the radio turn on now talking about spider man.

"Spider man. I mean, this guy swings in once a day, zip-zap-zop in his little mask and answers to no one. right?" Mr.Morales said, we just nodded.

"Yeah, dad. yeah." Miles said dismissively, I leaned my head against the window as we made our way towards the school.

Once we made it to the school me and Nico hurried out of the car letting miles talk to his dad alone. we both stepped towards the entrance and waited for miles.

It was quiet between the two of us and the silence was a bit thick, there was no tension between us. of course not. he was just always acting weird around me.

"Hi." I suddenly broke the silence and Nico turned towards me, his face turning red which I didn't notice at all, "Hey." he replied back.

Miles made his way out of his dads police car and towards us, but then he suddenly stopped when Mr.Morales made the police siren go off for a brief moment.

"You gotta say 'I love you' back." Mr.Morales said, "Dad, are you serious?" Miles asked while turning to him with a huff.

"I wanna hear it. 'I love you dad'." Mr.Morales said, Me and Nico snickered and covered our laughs.

"You wanna hear me say it?" Miles asked once again, "You're dropping me off at a school..with my two best friends!"

Mr.Morales gave miles a look and me and Nico just laughed, "'I love you, dad'." Mr.Morales said.

"Look at this place."

"'Dad, I love you'."

Everyone turned to miles and towards me and nico, we just looked away while not trying to watch the awkward moment.

"Dad, I love you."

"That's a copy."

Miles hurried and turned away but was stopped again, "Tie y'all's shoes, please." Mr.Morales told all three of us and we looked down at our shoes to see they were untied.

Me and Nico waved goodbye to Mr.Morales and made our way inside the school, we had our suitcases in hand.

Once we walked inside Nico was admiring the school but this place wasn't like our old school, so it wasn't really adjustable, "Hey good morning. how you doin'?" Nico said to the group of guys and girls who just looked him up and down.

"Weekend was short, huh?" Miles said as well. I get it, they were trying to make friends around here but I wasn't. since I didn't really know these people.

Someone tapped you on the shoulder and pointed to your shoes, "You're shoes untied." the girl said.

"My eyes are wide open aren't they? that's definitely a choice." I said and walked over to miles and Nico.

Once the three of us finished all those other classes we were rushing through, we finally made it to our final one. Nico opened the door and everyone immediately turned to us.

Me, Miles, and Nico quickly hurried inside while Nico hid his face a bit embarrassed while I just sighed, "Mr.Morales, Mx.[last name] and Mr.Kingston. Movin' in the dark. You all are late again." The teacher said.

We stood there and had that projector light on us as we all looked at each other nervously, "Well, I recall Einstein saying time was relative, right?" Nico said, "Maybe we're not late. maybe you guys are early."

Everyone just stared at us and Nico gave himself a pat on the back with a smug grin, I just shook my head while miles smiled nervously.

A girl laughed and then quickly stopped but laughed again, "Sorry. it was just so quiet." she said.

"Would you all like to keep standing there, or do you three wanna sit down?" The teacher asked, We quickly gathered our books and made our way towards our seats.

Me and Nico's seats were in the back where no one really was, once we sat down I placed my books on my desk.

Nico was paying attention to the screen while his fingers tapped against his desk continually, "I liked your joke." I spoke while turning to nico.

"Seriously?" Nico asked while gazing away from the screen, "I mean, it wasn't funny that's why I bet she laughed. but..it was smart." I said.

I looked away from him and faced the screen again, briefly looking at him one last time before looking away. Nico glanced at me the corner of his lips turning up into a smile before he quickly turned back around.

After school we all decided it would be best to visits miles uncle named Aaron, he was a cool guy to hang around. we ran down the street and towards his place.

Nico was dancing the whole way he had smooth moves but was dumb while he did it which made me just chuckle, we made our way up to the story level he was on of the building.

"Uncle Aaron! Hey! were you scared?" Miles yelled while waving at his uncle, his uncle turned to us with a chuckle.

Me and Nico waved and all three of us climbed inside.

"And everyone at the new school aren't fun. they're lame! I'd at least expect them to be open when they see us, the teachers aren't even letting us fail on purpose because we wanna go back to our old school. she's making me do an exam on myself man!" Nico exclaimed while groaning.

Uncle Aaron sighed, "You can't tell me it's all that bad there now, Nico. whoever you prefer to date, is where it's at." he said.

Miles shook his head, "No, there's no one." he said while laughing.

"Yo, I can't have no nephew of mines and his two doofus friends on the streets with no game." Aaron said.

Miles huffed, "Hey, I got game. there's a new girl. actually, you know, she's kinda into me. you know how it is."

Nico smirked and then turned to Aaron with a knowing look, "he ain't got no girlfrie—!" miles threw a book at nico's face before he could finish causing him to groan in pain as he fell off his seat.

"Ow!" I just chuckled and turned my attention back to the books on the bookshelves.

"What's her name?" Uncle Aaron asked while turning to Miles, "You know, we layin' down the groundwork right now." Miles answered.

"Nico, come on over here real quick." Aaron said, he went over and sat next to Miles, putting his legs on Miles purposely which made him roll his eyes playfully.

"Y'all know about the shoulder touch?" Aaron asked, "'Course we do." Miles answered, Nico looked off to the side.

"...We don't." Nico said and Miles sent him a warning glare but Nico just shrugged with a small chuckle, "But tell us anyways." Miles added.

"Tomorrow find that girl. you walk up to her and be like," Aaron placed both his hands on Nico's and Miles shoulders, "..hey."

Nico pushed Aaron's hand off his shoulder with a laugh, "You serious, Mr.Aaron?" he asked.

"I'm tellin' you, man, it's science. you sure you my nephew's best friend, man?" Aaron said with a laugh.

Miles looks down at a notification that popped up on his phone, you and nico doing the same.

"We should probably go. still got our papers to do tonight." Miles said, I didn't hear the rest of their conversation.

"C'mon y'all, let's go." Aaron said while getting up and grabbing his jacket, "Nah we can't, we can't." Miles said while holding up his hands but Nico grabbed his arms and dragged him out the door.

I grabbed mines and hurried and followed them in a hurry.

We made it inside some type of tunnel and began spray painting, well- miles did. Nico on the other hand was working on something while holding green neon lights in his hands.

I didn't see the spider that was on my shoulder as I looked away and got back to working on helping miles with his spray paint.

A bright neon green spider started crawling up Nico's leg getting towards his thigh and then his arm.

I stepped back and looked at the masterpiece me and miles made, Nico stepped back as well and looked at his work too.

"Wow." Aaron said while staring at the work me and miles made along with Nico's work too, "Is it too crazy?" Miles asked.

"No, man. Miles, [name], I see exactly what y'all doing here," Aaron said and I listened as he explained to miles about the past with his father.

I was too busy admiring the art work but I kept listening too, Nico was looking at his work with a smile on his lips, a spider had crawled inside my hoodie which I didn't realize.

"Alright come on y'all, I gotta roll." Aaron said and stood up, Miles grabbed his backpack and I grabbed mines also. Nico doing the same.

But before we left we turned back to our art work, we grabbed our phones at the same time and took pictures.

I then noticed the dark red spider on my hand, it crawled and bit me which made my eyes widen, I saw a flash of something but didn't pay it any kind thinking it was nothing.

Nico looked at his hand and saw a large bite mark on his hand, he shrugged and slapped it off, Miles doing the same with his and I did the same also.

"Miles, Nico, [Name], Let's go." Aaron called and we hurried our way out.
