FREYA woke up in the middle of the night, and to her surprise she was the only one in her bed.
Peeking over the side of it, she saw the HARVARD t shirt she had let the boy wear.
Rolling her eyes, she laid her back down on her pillow and shut her eyes.
When she woke up for good, the sun shined through her windows, but when she turned over, the boy was still gone.
Checking her phone, Freya discovered she didn't have to go into work, the diner was closed.
Shocker.
She dragged herself out of bed, rolling on to the floor.
Getting dressed, Freya decided to go look for him.
Standing on the side walk, she waited for a taxi since her car was at the academy.
She decided to check the academy for Five, and sure enough that's where she found him.
"Oh, thank the lord. I was worried." Freya sighed, seeing the boy gazing out of a window.
"Sorry I left without saying goodbye." Five apologized, turning to face her.
"No- I, I was thinking about it this morning and I'm sorry, I was dismissive and I couldn't process what you were saying, and to be honest I still can't."
"Maybe you were right to be dismissive." Five scoffed, "Maybe it wasn't real after all. It felt real, well, like you said, the old man did say time travel could contaminate your mind."
"Well, do you need anything? I know I probably can't help a lot, but I'm here." Freya said, offering a genuine but small smile.
"Thanks, but I think I should get some rest. It's been a while since I got a good sleep."
At Fives words, Freya began to walk out.
But a loud noise coming from the closet like dresser next to her made her jump back, and then Klaus stepped out of it "That's so.. touching! All that stuff about family and dad and time. Wow!"
"Jesus, Klaus. Would you shut up? You didn't even wait until she was out of the room." Five scolded, Freya becoming confused again.
"I'm moist." Klaus answered, not a care in the world.
"What the fuck?"
"I told you to put on something professional." He scolded the man again, who responded with a hurt face "This is my nicest outfit."
Five sighed, "We'll raid the old man's closet."
"Whatever, as long as I get paid."
"When the job is done."
Freya rolled her eyes, more secrets.
"Okay, but just so we're clearer on the final details, I just gotta go in to this place and pretend to be your dear old dad, correct?"
"Yeah something like that." Five and Klaus spoke, ignoring her existence as she interrupted them ", Umm, what the hell is going on now?"
"What's our cover story?" Klaus asked, his eyes squinted.
"What? What are you talking about?"
Freya didn't know how the two were gonna work together in secret if Five couldn't stand him.
"I mean, was I really young when I had you? Like sixteen? Like, young and terribly misguided." Klaus spoke dramatically, placing his hand over his chest.
"Sure."
"Your mother, that slut! Whoever she was. We met at.. the disco! Okay? Remember that. Oh, my god, the sex was amazing. Speaking of, you kids ever had sex before, I mean-"
"Wow. What a disturbing glance in to that thing in your head, Klaus." Freya cut him off, and he remarked
"Don't make me put you in time out."
She stopped Five from walking out, "No one is going anywhere until someone tells me what's going on."
"Don't worry about it, it's not your concern." He said, trying to walk past her but being stopped again.
"No, tell me."
"You know I can teleport, right?" He sassed, crossing his arms.
Klaus mocked his stance from behind him, Freya sassing back "You know I can kick both your asses still, right?"
"Oh, no need to get spicy senorita, Five needs me to be his daddy for some investigation or something," Klaus gasped dramatically, "Why don't you come, I can be your daddy too! You can be my twins!"
Five sighed in defeat, "You're a real pain in my ass, you know that?" He asked the girl, who nodded her head with an innocent smile.
-
"Like I said to your son earlier, any information about the prosthetics we build is strictly confidential. Without the clients consent, I simply can't help you." The doctor that was sitting across from all three of them said, Five standing up from his spot in the middle and leaning over the table.
"Well, we can't get consent if you don't give us a name."
"Well, that's not my problem. Sorry. Now, there's really nothing more I can do, so-"
Klaus cut the man off, "Well what about my consent?"
"Excuse me?"
"Who gave you permission.. to lay your hands, on my kids." He finished, both of the people next to him asking in unison "What?"
"You heard me."
"I didn't touch your kids."
"Oh really? Well how did they get those marks then?" Klaus stood up,
"They don't have any-"
Before the man could finish, Klaus had grabbed both their heads, slamming them together like coconuts.
Freya cursed, feeling her head buzz.
But he wasn't finished, the back of his hand struck five in the face, and almost Freya
"I want it. Name, please, now."
"You're crazy." He pointed his finger at the aggressor who chuckled, "You've got no idea" Klaus picked up a snow globe sitting on his desk "Peace on Earth. That's so sweet." He slammed his head on to it, screaming in pain as Five and Freya cringed, stepping back.
"God, that hurt!"
The doctor put the phone up to his ear, "I'm calling security."
Klaus lunged at him, "What are you doing! Theres been an assault, in Mr. Bigs office, we need security. Now! Schnell!" He spoke into the phone.
His actions were shocking his siblings, "Now here's what's gonna happen, Grant."
"It's.. Lance."
"In about sixty seconds two security guards are gonna burst through that door, and they're gonna see a whole lot of blood, and they're gonna wonder what the hell happened?! And we're gonna tell them that you.. beat the shit out of us!" Klaus sobbed, Five and Freya smirking.
"You're gonna do great in prison, Grant. Trust me, I've been there. Little piece of chicken like
You. Oh, my god, you're gonna get passed around like a โ you're just, you're gonna do great. That's all I'm saying."
Freya couldn't help but laugh as Klaus rolled his hips around, knowing what he was implying.
"Jesus, you are a real sick bastard." Lance insulted, leaning back in his chair.
"Thank you." Klaus spit out a shard of glass, Lance leading them to where they needed to be quickly.
He pulled a file out, "Oh that's strange."
"What?" Freya spit, ready to get out of there
"Uh, the eye hasn't been purchased by a client yet."
"What? What do you mean?" Klaus slammed in to a chair, then standing up again.
"Well, uh, our logs say that the eye with that serial number, This can't be right. It hasn't even been manufactured yet. Where did you get that eye?"
-
As they walked out of the building Five sighed, "Well, this is not good."
"I was pretty good, though, right? Yeah what about my consent, bitch." Klaus chuckled, stopping in his tracks.
"Klaus, it doesn't matter."
"What? What? What's the big deal with this eye, anyway?" He asked, shards of glass and blood still on his fourhead.
"There is someone out there who's going to loose an eye, in the next seven days. They're gonna bring about the end of life on this earth as we know it." Five spit, shoving past his brother.
"Yeah, can I get that twenty bucks like, now, or what?"
"Your twenty bucks?"
"Yeah, my twenty bucks."
Freya rolled her eyes as they bickered, Five looking at Klaus like he was crazy "The apocalypse is coming, and all you can think about is getting high?"
"Well, I'm also quite hungry. Tummy's rumbling." He mocked a rumble sound, rubbing his stomach.
Freya was also hungry, but didn't want to feel Fives wrath "You're useless. You're all useless!"
She flashed him her middle finger, quite offended.
"Oh, come on, you need to lighten up, old man."
Five groaned, sitting on a step as Klaus came over to him "Hey, you know, I've just realized why you're so uptight. You must be horny as hell! All those years by yourself, it's gotta screw with your head, being alone."
Freya giggled, sitting next to Five who started "Well.. I wasn't alone."
"Oh? Pray tell?" Klaus and Freya both leaned in closer to listen.
"Her name was Delores."
The girl felt something in her stomach, but she couldn't figure out what it was.
"We were together for over thirty years."
"Thirty years, Oh, wow! God, the longest I've been with someone was.. I don't know, three weeks. That's only because I was so tired of looking for a place to sleep-"
Before Klaus could say anything else, Five and Freya appeared inside of the taxi driving by.
"Don't stop, just keep going."
The man driving the taxi listened, Five then turning to Freya,
"And don't speak. You're only here because I know you'd find me one way or another."
She saluted him, pretending to zip her lips shut.
-
Freya didn't know where the taxi had taken them, but it looked like a clothing store.
Five ordered her "Stay here."
So she stood waiting, leaning against the glass doors patiently.
She started to hear gun shots, pushing on the locked doors.
She couldn't see anything, her vision was bad in the dark.
Freya focused for a second, tilting her head upwards and watching the glass shatter.
The gun shots continued, and she could see Five in the distance, hiding.
She dropped on to her hands and knees, crawling towards him.
"Five, what theโ"
His hand went over her mouth, his voice quiet "Get back to the academy. Now."
Police sirens could be heard in the distance, so she ran back out through the shattered door, and continued to run.
When she got to the doors of the academy, she waited, worried about what had happened.
When Five finally turned up, he was holding a duffel bag over his shoulder, his uniform looking distressed.
"Jesus, Five, what was that?! I feel like I've been asking you that a lot-"
He didn't say anything to the girl, just walking in the doors and up the stairs where she followed him.
"Jesus, what happened to you?" Alison stopped him, standing by Luther.
"Are you okay? Can we help?" Luther asked, putting his arm out, Five snatched it up quickly, speaking through his teeth "There's nothing any of you can do."
That was the moment Five remembered, the sight of everyone he loved dead, buried in debris.
"What is going on?" Luther asked Freya, who exclaimed, "No idea! Honestly!" Throwing her hands in the air.
"I think, he might just need to be alone for a second, I've been up his ass since he got back, but can you blame me?" She asked, her voice pleaded as she ran her fingers through her slightly oily hair.
"Freya, are you okay?" Alison asked, stepping forward and putting a hand on her sister's shoulder.
Was she okay? That was a good question.
Freya honestly had no idea if she was okay, she hadn't showered in days, her head was ringing, and something was going on with Five.
But she couldn't blame him, he was stuck in the future for fifty eight years, alone, or not alone.. with a girl.
Maybe he just didn't feel for her like he used to, maybe she was stupid to go looking for him and getting herself stuck.
"Yeah." Freya hesitated, "Thank you, but I'm just gonna go take a hot shower and go to bed."
Alison and Luther gave her uncertain looks as she walked down the hallway, up a flight of stairs.
When she got in to the bathroom she stopped, taking a second to look in the mirror.
Her skin was pale, her wavy hair was tangled, and she realized she hadn't ate that day, or the day before.
Shaking the thoughts out of her head, Freya did what she said she was going to do, taking her long awaited shower.
Once she got out, she blow dried her hair, brushing through it and noticing how nice it felt to finally feel so clean, the soft fabric of her light blue robe against her bare body.
When she tucked it behind her ears, the mark left on the side of her head from Klaus slamming it into Fives showed.
It was starting to turn purple, and pressure hurt slightly.
Opening the bathroom door, she was startled by Klaus standing outside of it with a closed smile on his face.
"Jesus, Klaus. What are you doing out here?" She sighed, walking past him in to her room where he followed.
"Got lost in the castle, but I thought you might want to talk." He leaned against her door frame, slipping off of it and almost falling over.
"About?"
"Oh, you know, what's going on with you and wonder boy." Klaus drew his bottom lip
between his teeth.
"Nothings going on with me and Five." She blushed slightly, moving her head to the side.
"Sure, so that's why you follow him around everywhere? That's why you stopped Diego from making him a human knife target? That's why your face went blank when he mentioned
Dear old Delores?"
Wow.
Freya's mouth opened slightly, was she that obvious?
"I justโ I don't know, after everything when we were little, we were so close. Then he got stuck, and when he finally came back, nothings the same. But it's been fifty eight years for him, I don't think his feelings are still alive."
"Oh, sweet thing." Klaus frowned, "I know what you need. You just need to either get laid, or let it all out."
Getting laid wasn't a topic she was experienced on, Freya was still a virgin.
She'd never even been in a relationship.
When she left the academy she just never took interest in anyone, a cute guy could ask her out while she was waiting tables and she'd just make up a lie.
"Let it all out?" She asked, a lousy look in her eyes.
"Come on, I'll show you." He picked her hand up, dragging her out of the bedroom.
The walk from the bedroom to the woods was a little bit long, and it angered her to be in such a dirty area right after a shower.
"So, what are we doing here?" She asked.
"You're letting it out. Scream, feel your emotions. Let your power take over." Klaus smirked, Freya being uncertain "I don't know if I shouldโ"
"Do it." He ordered, she put her hands at her side and let out a weak scream, moving leaves around in the air.
"Seriously, you call that a scream? That was so weak. I thought you were supposed to be powerful? I mean, I guess we can't all be important." Klaus poked, tempting the girl.
Freya kept her arms at her side, facing her hands to the front and taking a deep breath.
She screamed, loud.
The ground underneath them shook, causing the man to loose his balance.
Trees fell within feet away from them, making loud, unpleasant noises as they hit the ground.
Freya felt way more content, a slow smile creeping on to her face as she caught her breath.
"Jesus, I was not expecting that." Klaus said from the ground, standing up and brushing himself off.
"That felt good."
"Yeah, I bet. It probably didn't feel good for the rest of Oklahoma City, might have knocked over a few TVs." He said flatly, exhaling deeply, "Let's get you back inside, Carrie."
Freya smirked, walking the same path back to the academy beside him.
Once they got inside, they were laughing amongst themselves.
"Klaus, Freya, did you guys feel that?! I think it was a mini earthquake. Where have you been?" Alison asked, still standing in the same spot with Luther.
Klaus flicked his wrist, "Nah, probably just someone doing there nightly exercises. Goodnight fam!"
With that, they went there seperate ways.
Freya's way being back to her bedroom to finally get some sleep.
