Lori Larkin never wanted to be a superhero.

While other kids dreamed of having superpowers and saving the day, Lori had dreams of reaching the stars all on her own. No capes, no super suits, only the boundless potential of the human mind. As a little girl, she would sit by her bedroom window, watching the night sky, imagining what it would be like to soar through the cosmos. Her parents, brilliant scientists, shared that same dream, and she'd always hoped to carry it forward. But space, like many things, seemed off-limits to a young woman with little experience—and even less opportunity.

Lori's life was quickly shattered when a lab fire—an experiment gone wrong—claimed the lives of her parents, and she was left alone, orphaned, with nothing more than the night sky and a dream that could never be accomplished. Or could it?

Now an adult, with her parents' names slipping into the dusty pages of history, Lori found herself staring up at the stars again, only this time, they were closer. Two years after the cosmic storm that granted the Fantastic Four their powers, NovaTech—a company with the resources and ambition to rival any space agency—had extended an invitation. They wanted Lori to join a team of scientists, to analyze the very anomaly that had changed Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm forever. The storm that turned ordinary people into extraordinary beings. NovaTech had promised her safety, they had promised precaution. In a world that had always brushed her aside, it was the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to prove herself, and to honor the memory of her parents in the way she always imagined.

But when the mission went wrong, safety was the last thing Lori found. Lori and the rest of the team returned to Earth, but they weren't just changed—they were something else entirely. Something dangerous. Lori herself had become something unrecognizable. Inside of her, there was a force so powerful, it threatened to tear her apart. Her powers were like a supernova, building inside her with every passing moment, threatening destruction the longer she held it in.

Her powers terrified her. But what terrified her even more was the realization that NovaTech hadn't been entirely forthcoming about their intentions.

As the truth about their motives start to unravel, Lori realizes that the stakes weren't just her life or the lives of her team—they were all of humanity's. The stars had always been a dream to her, but now, they were a reminder of everything she could lose. And with her powers threatening to implode at any moment, Lori has to make a choice: find a way to save herself, and the others, or burn everything to the ground.

Her life had never been what she'd dreamed it would be. But maybe, just maybe, this new path—one that she had never wanted—could still lead her to the stars.
