Sadie let her brother leave before her so she could bike down there with Beverly, who she met at her place.

"Hey Bev!" She smiled, her friend running down the stairs and pulling her bike out "Hey gorgeous!"

The ride was only around five minutes, and once they got there they dropped their bikes off at the bottom of the hill they had to walk up.

"Wait!" Sadie called, slipping her dress off halfway "is it too much?" she asked.

"No way. Stanley's gonna love it" Beverly teased.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Sure."

Sadie blushed, rolling her eyes and starting to walk up the hill.

"Alright. Who's gonna go first?" Bill asked the boys surrounding them, a familiar voice causing them to turn around.

"I'll go!" Sadie yelled as she pulled her ponytail out, standing in front of Beverly with her dress at her feet and her sandals off.

Once she yelled, she regretted it.

She was scared, but couldn't back out since she was too deep in.

"Wow." Stanley said, Bills hand going to smack him in the arm.

She ran in between the boys, jumping in.

Beverly came in next, then Stan, and Bill, all of them.

They splashed around in the water, Eddie and Richie slamming each other under.

"Let's play chicken!" Beverly said, winking at Sadie who rolled her eyes "I'll get on Bills shoulders, you can get on Stan's. Is that okay with you Stanley?"

"Uh, yeah- yeah sure." Stanley ducked under the water, helping the girl on his shoulders.

She blushed as he lifted her into the air, squealing a little.

Her hands went to his hair, his face beat red.

Stanley ran at Bill, Sadie moving Beverly's hands out of the way and pushing her off.

She dropped forward off his shoulders in to the water, jumping up and using both her hands to high-five him.

They stopped laughing, their eyes meeting, Sadie's shifting down to Stans lips before Eddie's voice distracted her "Oh fuck! What was that?!"

"Something just touched my fucking foot! Right there!" Richie yelled, everyone swam around looking underwater just to find out it was a turtle.

'This here's a jam for all the fellas
Tryin' to do what those ladies tell us
Get shot down cause ya overzealous
Play hard to get, females get jealous
Okay smarty, go to a party
Girls are scantily clad and showin' body
A chick walks by, you wish you could sex her
But you're standing on the wall like you was Poindexter'

The music played as Beverly and Sadie laid on their towels in the sun, being able to feel the eyes of the boys on them.

Sadie turned on to her stomach, the boys immediately turning their heads trying to act like they weren't looking.

"News flash Ben, schools out for summer!" Richie put a fake microphone up to his mouth, flipping through Ben's back pack as Sadie stood up and sat in between him and Stan.

"Oh that?" Ben said "that's not school stuff."

Richie pulled a post card out of his bag "Who sent you this?"

"No one!" Ben snatched it out of his hand, Richie grabbing a big folder.

"What's with the history project?" Sadie chuckled, almost getting lost in Stanley's eyes again.

"Oh, well, when I moved here I didn't really have anyone to hangout with so I started spending time in the library." They passed the folder around, Richie speaking up again.

"You went to the library? On purpose?"

"What's the black spot?" Stan asked, Beverly popping up next to Bill to look at it.

"The black spot was a night club that was burned down years ago by that racist group." Eddie said in a duh tone, Stan just responding with "What?"

"Your hair." Bill said, just noticing that Beverly had cut her hair, way shorter.

Beverly tucked a piece behind her ear, Bill was struggling to get his words out so Ben leaned into her view "Your hair's beautiful, Beverly."

"Oh, right, thanks."

Sadie nudged Stan with her arm, making kissy faces when he looked at her causing the two to laugh amongst themselves.

Bill passed the folder back to Richie, "Whys it all murders and missing kids?" He asked.

"Derrys not like any town I've ever been in before, they even did a study once, it turns out people die or disappear six times the national average."

"You read that?" Beverly asked.

Ben nodded his head, "And that's just grown ups, kids are worse. Way worse. I've got more stuff if you wanna see it."

They all walked in to Ben's room, he was leaning against the closet door like he had just hid something in there.

Richie and Eddie talked to each other
About old guys bones and chimps, everyone else checking out the stuff in his room.

"Wow." Richie said, walking over to Ben who was smiling "Cool huh?"

"No, nothing cool, there's nothing cool." He snickered. "Oh this is cool right here, nevermind no it's not."

"What's that?" Stanley pointed at a paper on the wall from next to Sadie.

"Oh that, that's the charter for derry township."

"Nerd alert." Sadie stepped in front of Stan, slapping Richie in the chest for his jokes.
"Ow, Woman! Don't hit me hit Stan!"

Stan threw his hands up in surrender, stepping back as Ben began to speak again.

"No, actually, it's really interesting. Derry started as a beaver trap."

"Still is am I right boys?!"

Stan shook his head at Richie, Ben ignoring him "Ninety one people signed this charter that made Derry, but later that winter they all disappeared without a trace."

"The entire camp?" Eddie said, all of them shocked at the boys words.

"There are rumors of Indians but no sign of an attack. Everybody just thought it was a plague or something, but it's like โ€” one day everybody just woke up and left. The only clue was a trail of bloody clothes leading to the well house."

"Jesus. Need to get Derry on unsolved mysteries." Ugh, Sadie hated that show.

Stanley, Eddie, and Richie bickered for no reason at all, "I mean isn't all this kind of weird we just met this kid and we're at his house."

"Maybe he's just trying to make some friends Stanley, you stupid asshole." Richie Sassed, Sadie laughing and getting a harsh look from the boy next to her.

"Sorry." She cleared her throat.

"W-where was the well house?" Bill asked, "I don't know somewhere in town I guess. Why?"

"Nothing."

"Okay, losers. I'm out." Sadie said, Stan following her lead "Yeah, me too."

Before there friends could protest, they where in the yard standing there bikes up.

"Hey." Stanley said loudly, "Yeah?" She giggled.

"Sorry that was so loud, I uh, do you wanna go get ice cream or something?"

"Like right now?" Stanley nodded his head yes.

"Sure! So it's a .. date?"

"Yeah, I mean, if you want it to be Iโ€”" the boy was nervous.

"Of course." She smiled.

They rode to the ice cream place in an awkward silence, Stan leading the way.

Stanley opened the door for her, "Thank you, gentleman."

"I can't get anything, I don't have any money." Sadie said, avoiding eye contact feeling slightly embarrassed.

"It's okay, I didn't expect you to pay for yourself anyways."

She smiled, her cheeks pink.

The inside of the ice cream place was a diner setting, the sun setting outside.

Sadie ordered a waffle cone with two scoops of chocolate, Stanley ordered a waffle cone with two scoops of vanilla and sprinkles.

They sat across from each other at a table, Sadie being the first to talk "So is it just me or is Ben in love with Beverly?"

The boys shoulders perked up "No he totally is, but Beverly is so in love with Bill. So are we team Ben or Bill?"

"I don't know I mean, Bens got heart but Bill and Bev would be so cute." She smiled, ice cream coating above her top lip.

"You've gotโ€” here." Stanley brought a white napkin up to her face, wiping the chocolate off.

Their eyes met and they both started to lean over the table, Sadie panicking slightly on the inside.

"What the hell are you guys doing here?" Richie, Sadie sighed.

They looked to there left, and he was standing with Eddie "Where- where you guys about to kiss?!"

"Holy shit I can't wait to tell Billy Stanley is boning his sister!"

"Shut up Richie!" Stanley said loudly, rolling his eyes.

"I'll tell you what, buy me and Eddie's ice cream, and I won't say a word."ย

Stanley rolled his eyes again, slamming his hands on the table and standing up, pulling cash out of his pocket.

"Hi Eddie." She laughed as he sat next to her, Richie and Stanley at the counter ordering the ice cream.

"So, you and Stanley?" Eddie said, not even bothering to say hi back.

"I don't know I mean, I really like him, and we said that this is a date."

"I'm happy for you guys but do you think Bill is gonna be like, mad?" He asked, and she really didn't know the answer.

"Maybe, but it doesn't really matter if we're happy." She shrugged, Richie and Stanley walking over.

Richie handed Eddie his ice cream cone, and Sadie stood up next to Stan who told them "I have to go, assholes."

"I'll take you."

Stanley rode next to Sadie to her house, and when they got there no one really knew what to say.

"I had a good time." Sadie smiled, stepping off her bike.

Stanley stepped off his bike too, "So did I."

She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around the boy who did the same.

"I'll see you tomorrow."
"See ya!"

She walked her bike down the drive way and left it, going inside through the back door.

To her luck, Bill wasn't home.

Sadie found herself not able to sleep that night, so she got up to get a glass of water.

Sitting down at the table, she took a sip, then she started to hear things.

"Say Say."

The glass slipped out of her hand, water spilling down the table and on to the floor.

Say Say.

Georgie.

That's what Georgie called her, the voice sounded like him.

She shook her head, standing up and grabbing a towel when she heard it again "Sadie, please."

Curiosity killed the cat, she walked to the front door, her little brother's voice changing in to sobs.

"Georgie?" She asked, hesitantly unlocking the door.

"Sadie please open the door, I'm scared. It's dark out here. And we all float."

Those last words made her freeze, stopping her from opening the door.

We all float.

Sadie felt breathing down her neck, still too afraid to turn around, her hand slid off the doorknob.

"Do you wanna float, Sadie?" A voice she had never heard before.

The voice was terrifying, unsettling.

But what was worse was the laugh that came after, it sounded like a mix between hysteria and a panic attack.

She turned around quickly, and she wished she didn't.

It was a clown, with big red hair and a white face that looked like he had scratched himself from his four head down on both eyes.

He was in a white clown costume with a poofy collar and red pom poms.

His smile was big, his teeth sharp and rotten.

Sadie stepped to the side, running into her bedroom.

She slammed and locked the door behind her, her heart beating in her stomach.

She laid down on her bed, hiding under the covers.

She had to of been imagining it, at least that's what she told herself.

She stayed under her purple covers until she fell asleep, not daring to peek out.
