Roma Garcia — Nicolás stood beside Alex Karev, whom she was sharing a group of interns with. There were too many residents, and not enough interns. Neither minded, the two are like peas in a pod, always together and never too damn far apart.
"We have five rules. Memorize them. Rule number one; don't bother sucking up, we already don't like you. That's not gonna change." Roma started, plastering on the most intimidating filled look, the poor little puppy dog interns looked scared and full of fear. "Trauma protocols, phone lists, pagers. The nurses will page you, we will page you. You answer every page at a run ... a run. That's rule number two."
The group of interns, four, young, interns filled with home and nerves, follows after their residents quickly, grabbing everything they needed.
Alex looks over his shoulders, eyeing the group of four up. "Your first shift starts now and lasts thirty six hours. You're grunts, nobodies, the bottom of the surgical food chain. You run labs, you write orders, you work every second night until you drop, and you don't complain." He grins when he notices one of the interns look down when he looked at them, feeding off the fear they hold, in such a weird and creepy was but then again, so did his resident.
"On call rooms. Sleep when you can, where you can. If we're sleeping, do not wake us unless a patient's actually dying." Roma stoped, stepping into a semi empty on call room. There were blankets scattered everywhere and no one had come to clean it up yet. "The dying patient better not be dead when we get there, because not only will you have killed someone, you will have woken us for no good reason. Are we clear?"
Alex grins when his and Romas pagers go off, a clear message that they're needed so where, most likely the emergency department. "Rule number five... when we move, you move. Let's go!"

The ambulance arrives and Ruben is already rushing over to meet the ambulance driver and paramedic. He's dressed in a paper gown over his new and fresh dark blue scrubs, gloves on, and his 'waterproof' shoes pattering in the puddle near the door.
He's handed a chart, one his eyes skim over quickly before he places it over the patients legs. "Good Morning, what do we got?"
"Unrestrained driver, dead on arrival at the scene. Just need someone to pronounce him." The paramedic helps move the gurney from the ambulance, slowly pushing it into the hospital, following Ruben's lead. "You're new, nice to meet you ..."
"Doctor Nicolás, nice to meet you as well." Ruben smiled and pushed the gurney into the emergency department, finding an empty trauma room and locking the wheels.
The paramedic who follows behind him shoots him a small smile as he moves to the other side of the gurney, reaching over and grabbing the blanket so he can help lift him onto the hospitals gurney and not his own.
When the man is on the hospitals gurney, the paramedic waves and leaves. Or well, not before he wishes Ruben a good time here at Seattle Grace. He's seen it all as the man who brings the patients, and believes that this newbie will be in for a treat.
"You paged?" Christina Yang steps into the trauma room, a yellow paper gown over his light blue scrubs, a bundle of interns following behind her like little ducks. "Who are you?"
"The new emergency surgeon, Doctor Nicolás. It's nice to meet you, ma'am." Ruben speaks kindly, although he wanted to tell the korean to get bent for how she asked who he was. "You must be Cristina Yang, it's a pleasure to meet you face to face, I've heard lovely things."
Cristina, still weary of the man who stands before her, and not caring how she truly talks, grabs the chart from where it rested on the patients legs. "You paged me for a dead guy, what a waste of my time." She murmured the last little bit.
Ruby's face flashes as the door opens. "Get out. Now. You're no longer welcome in my emergency department until you can show some kindness."
Alex stands there, wearing a small grin at how Christina had been talked too. "Sir, I'd love to walk my interns though the steps of pronouncing a patient dead." He steps into the room, two interns right behind him.
Ruben waits for Christina and her interns to shuffle out of the room, before he hands Alex the chart and nods, "This is your patient now, Doctor Karev. Page me if you need anything."
Alex reads over the chart before he has his interns check for any pulse, or any signs of life. The one moment his into teaching, is to do it in spite of Yang, after stealing her patient.
Laura Riley and James Wade are Alex's interns today, and Pierce Halley, Wesley Killion were following Roma around. Tomorrow they'd switch, and then switch again, and again, and until the end of their intern year they'd switch because it worked for Alex and Roma when they were separated.
Alex glanced to where the new doctor was standing outside his room, arms crossed at watching as another resident — Callie, was working on setting someone's broken arm.
"Doctor. Riley, call time of death." Alex told her, glancing back and looking at her over his shoulder.
"8:22 ... Ah!" Laura yelped as she threw her hands up, scattering away from the patient who had taken a big breath in and opened their eyes. "Zombie!"
"Not time of death." Alex moved towards the patient, acting quickly. "This guy is not dead. Wade open the door."
James Wade stepped towards the door, swung it open, and Alex Karev leaned so he was facing it. "We've got a guy who's risen from the dead over here!"
Ruben Nicolás was a fast mover, he didn't waste a second in jumping from where he was to moving to where the patient was.
"What do I do?" Alex asked, words forced out and hurried. He was unsure, eyes wide and panicking. "Doctor."
"Shit. Page, uh, Neuro Surgery and put him on a vent, now!" Ruben spoke loudly, watching as Alex got the stuff to put the man on a vent and one of the interns scrambled to page Derek Shepherd.
Maybe he'd like it here.

"Doctor. Roma Garcia — Nicolás." Ruben smiled, turning from the coffee cart and towards where his cousin was standing at the nurses station. "Where is my hug?"
Roma whirled around at the familiar voice, eyes going wide and her smile stretching towards her ears. "Ruby!"
She left her chart, and threw her arms around her cousin. Ruby grinned as she hugged him, the feeling of home washing over him. "I've missed you, Romey. So much."
