Jess was always last pick when it came to being asked out. Actually, Jess had never been asked out on a date before. Everyone thought that she was a bitch and no one tried to see what was really underneath her facade. Hearing about Miguel asking out her sister made her heart break. She had always wanted to feel loved by someone, especially when she didn't get it at home.

"You could take her to get tattoos"

Jess shook her head snapping out of whatever trance she had fallen into. She hid the sadness in her eyes with a look of hatred and anger as she looked herself in the mirror of the dojo . She looked at Hawk weirdly.

"And why the fuck would he do that?" Jess scoffed and rolled her eyes. Ever since Eli had become "Hawk", she was really starting to dislike the guy. Aisha laughs, but Miguel looks at him confused.

"What?" Miguel made a face as Hawk stood up. He untied his gi and ripped it off showing a badass Hawk tattoo that covered the top of his back.

"Oh!"

"Oh shit"

"Holy shit! What is that?" Jess' eyes widen in horror. She couldn't grasp onto the idea that Hawk would do such a thing.

"That's badass," Aisha looked at Hawk's tattoo in amazement.

"It's not badass. It's...something, but it's most definitely not badass," Jess rolled her eyes. She went back to stretching. She thought that the tattoo was way too extreme.

"Fourteen hours in the chair," Hawk flexed in the mirror as everyone stared at him in amazement.

"Wait. Are your parents okay with that," Aisha asked concerned. Hawk looked at her and his smirk quickly turned into a frown.

"Oh, they have no idea. Definitely gonna have to wear a T-shirt until college. Probably longer. Please don't tell them," Hawk sat back down. Jess looked at him weirdly. He had just been this confident guy with a Mohawk, and then he quickly coward at the mention of his parents.

"What? You scared your mom's gonna call Counselor Blatt telling her to give another lecture? This time it will be that kids shouldn't get Mohawks and tattoos of birds on their backs," Jess got up and fixed her gi.

Everyone ignored her and turned back to Miguel.

"Uh...any other suggestions?" Miguel looks at Aisha and Jess.

"Don't look at me," they both say giving Miguel a look.

"Sam and I I used to be friends. We're not anymore," Aisha shakes her head.

"And Sam and I use to be sisters. Wouldn't even call us that anymore," Jess looked at her reflection sadly. Ever since the Halloween dance things had been tense between the LaRusso sisters. Jess never acted like it, but she wished that her and her sister had a good relationship again. Jess wished that she could go to someone when life was being a pain in the ass. She wished she had someone to lean on. She wished she had someone other than Timmy as her best friend. She wished she wasn't lonely.

Jess' face hardens and turns emotionless. She forced all the sad thoughts out her mind and turned something else on that she was familiar with. Hatred.

When Jess was afraid to confront things because it made her emotional she just started hating it. Her parents and sister were on the top of that list.

Jess zoned out as she was flooded by many emotions. To the naked eye she looked fine, but in her best friends eyes he knew something was off. He stood up and walked over to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. He stared at her through the mirror as he tried to figure out what was wrong with her.

"You ok?" He rubbed her arm comfortingly. Jess felt another wave of emotions come over her. She was thankful that Timmy was always there for her. He was the only one that ever gave the LaRusso girl a chance.

Jess nodded before she dragged him to the back where the bathrooms were. She stopped and turned to face him.

"Jess are you ok-" Timmy was cut of by Jess engulfing him in a hug. He froze before he immediately hugged back.

"What's gotten into you?" He chuckled as they held onto each other.

"Thank you for being there for me," Jess mumbled. Her voice was muffled because she had buried her face in the crook of her neck.

"Of course, Jessie," Jess smiled at the nickname that he had given her when they first met. As they kept holding each other in a warm embrace none of them noticed Johnny walk out of his office.

Johnny stared at them and noticed that the girl seemed broken. He could tell that something was up, and he was determined to figure it out.

He walked back into his office. He decided to call the All Valley to see if he could sign up Cobra Kai. But things didn't go as plan.

"Banned?"

Johnny's voice filled the dojo. He was clearly upset with whoever he was on the phone with.

"What are you talking about?" Miguel stood up and headed inside Johnny's office. Jess followed and entered his office as well. Johnny was on the phone and he looked mad.

"No, you don't ban me. I'll ban you!" Johnny takes the phone and slams it repeatedly before he throws it on the table.

"What's got your panties in a twist?" Jess leaned against the doorframe. Johnny looked up as he finally noticed Miguel and Jess.

"Sensei, what going on?" Miguel squinted his eyes at Johnny.

"There's a lifetime ban on Cobra Kai from entering the tournament," Johnny flailed his arms as he looked down angrily.

"You've gotta be shitting me!" Jess exclaimed looking at Johnny in disbelief.

"How is that fair?" Miguel's eyes were wide in shock.

"It's not. There's nothing I can do about it," Johnny sits back down in defeat. Jess walks forward with Miguel.

"What happened to "never accept defeat?". There is no "no"," Miguel walks forward pointing at Johnny.

"I have no fucking clue what he's talking about, but I agree. You can't just let this happen. You need to fight back. No mercy, right?" Jess nodded her head as she leaned forward towards Johnny.

"That was girl advice. This is different. This is the real world. There are rules," Johnny looks back at his desk.

Miguel and Jess looked at each other.

"Rules are made to be broken, so break these," Jess looks at Johnny firmly.

"Cobra Kai should have just as much of an opportunity as any other dojo in the valley," Johnny smirked at the girl. He was glad that she wasn't stuck up like the other LaRusso's.

"You've gotta fight this! You're Johnny Lawrence! You can't back down from a fight. Think of this as fight, you can't and will not lose," Jess said.

"You're right," Johnny stands up nodding at Jess.

"Im gonna go down there..." Johnny walks around his desk.

"Yeah"

"...And beat their asses"

"YES!"

"What?! No, Jess," Miguel looked at Jess.

"You're not helping," Miguel said softly.

"You sure? Because it's seems like I'm helping," Jess smirked. Miguel sighs and turns back to Johnny stopping him from leaving.

"What? No, that's not what I meant. Im saying maybe there's a more delicate approach, Sensei?" Johnny and Jess both freeze and turn to Miguel with glares on their faces.

"The way of the fist is not delicate," Johnny walks towards Miguel.

"Cobras are not delicate," Johnny and Jess both say in sync. They look at each other as if to prove the point. They give each other a high five before they turn back to Miguel serious.

"Yes, yes, sorry. I...forget delicate. I'm just saying, maybe there's a smarter way to fight back?" Miguel said leaving Johnny's office.

Jess starts walking out, but Johnny calls her back in.

"Hey, LaRusso!"

"Yes, Homeless Guy?"

Johnny rolls his eyes before he closes the door of his office. Jess looks at him weirdly as he sits back down and pulls out two coors. He throws one at Jess, which she swiftly catches.

Jess takes a sip before she spits it out. Her face forms into one of disgust.

"This shit is disgusting. You need stronger shit," Jess puts the bottle on the table and slides it towards Johnny.

Johnny happily takes her bottle before he looks at her seriously.

"You doing okay, kid?" Johnny folds his arms and leans back in his chair.

"Yeah, why?" Jess raises an eyebrow.

"You've seemed a little off lately"

"I'm fine. Just a lot on my mind," Jess says as she tries to keep a straight face.

"Cut the crap. What's really going on with you, LaRusso?" Johnny puts the beer down and stand in front of Jess.

"You wouldn't understand," Jess looks down. She was shocked that Johnny cared for her.

"Try me. I may not understand, but I'll listen"

Jess hesitated before she continued.

"It's my family. I get ignored at home. I'm ignored and pushed away. I'm the outsider in the seemingly perfect LaRusso household! My parents pay more attention to my siblings than they ever have to me. And it's not just at home, it's at school too. I have only one best friend because everyone at school thinks I'm a bitch. One. Friend. That's it. That's all I have. He's the only person whose ever cared for me. And I'm sick of it! I'm sick of people hating me and being pushed away by my own family! Families are supposed to help you, care for you...love you. What did I do to deserve the complete opposite?" Jess's voice cracks as tears form in her eyes. She had never admitted this to anyone except Timmy, but she felt like she could trust Johnny.

Johnny listened quietly, but as soon as he saw a tear slide down the girls cheek he pulled her into a tight hug. Jess froze for a second before she hugged back. She let out a strangled sob as she tried not to cry. Johnny rubbed her back as she held onto him. After a minute Jess let go and wiped her eyes.

"I'm sorry," she whispered looking down.

"Don't apologize. You're a good kid and you deserve better," Johnny patted her shoulder.

Jess smiled.

"Thanks Homeless Guy"
