"It's not bullshit, Jess. I don't want you getting hurt even more," Johnny explained. When Miguel had punched Jess at the party, she twisted her ankle when she fell. She could still fight, but it hurt for her to do much.

"I can do it!"

"I know you can, but I don't want you to participate," Johnny said.

"I'm gonna fight, even if you don't want me to," Jess folded her arms over her chest. Johnny rubbed his face as he started getting annoyed with the girl. Johnny sighed defeated. He knew that no matter what he said she was going to the opposite.

"Fine! But if you get hurt even more, you're off the team," Johnny said seriously. He looked down at the girl as her eyes widened. Jess started laughing until she realized that Johnny was being completely serious.

"Wait, what? You wouldn't do that. I'm one of your best students," Jess said frantically.

"I know, but you need to start listening and stop being so hardheaded," Johnny crossed his arms.

"So your solution to that is by kicking me off the team?" Jess rolled her eyes.

"Yup," Johnny patted her shoulder and walked back into his office. Jess sighed and left the dojo. She sat in the middle of the parking lot looking at all the cars passing by. She pulled out a cigarette and lit it. She inhaled the smoke that she had become so accustomed to.

"Hey, girlie!"

Jess turned around and a gasp almost left her lips. Standing in front of her was the homeless lady that was always hanging around the strip mall.

"What do you want?" Jess snapped looking at the lady in disgust as she got closer and closer to her.

"Give me one of them cigarettes," the lady ordered. Jess raised an eyebrow.

"Now! I ain't got all day," Jess hesitantly took out a cigarette and threw it towards the lady. Jess grabbed her lighter, but when she turned back the lady was gone. Jess looked around the parking lot confused.

"What the hell"

Jess, Timmy, Miguel, Aisha, Hawk, and Bert all stood outside waiting impatiently for Johnny to arrive. Miguel  kept punching the air aggressively. Jess rolled her eyes at him. If anyone should be angry it should be her.

"Yo, Miguel, calm down, man. Save some for the tournament," Hawk looked at Miguel weirdly. Miguel glared at him and went back to punching the air.

"Hey, don't even bother. He's been super aggro ever since the breakup," Aisha told Hawk. Hawk looked back at Miguel concerned.

"Where's Sensei? The tournament's gonna start soon," Hawk asked turning to Aisha.

"He'll be here," Aisha reassured.

Jess fidgeted with her fingers as waited for Johnny. Her parents were coming and they were going to see her fight...for the first time...as a student of Cobra Kai. She was used to her parents being disappointed with her, but she always hated seeing their face. It always read 'why would you do that? why aren't you more like Sam?' Jess's thoughts were cut off by Bert.

"I don't know about that," Bert said cautiously.

"What are you talking about?," Aisha furrowed her eyebrows.

"I saw him last night at the mini-mall. I was buying a carton of milk-" Bert started.

"Bullshit. There is no way you were buying a carton of milk. Isn't that too heavy for you?" Jess was cut off by Timmy stepping on her foot.

"Back to what I was saying. When I heard him in the parking lot, yelling. He was peeing on his car yelling about something and then he smashed his drink and walked off," Bert explained. Everyone looked at him with their mouth agape.

"Why didn't you tell us this earlier?" Aisha asked angrily.

"I don't know. I guess I'm used to seeing him drunk it didn't seem like that big a deal," Bert shrugged.

"Well, we're here, and he's not," Hawk raised his voice.

"I know your small, but I'm hoping your brain is of normal size because what I'm about to tell you is important. This is big deal! What if something happened to him?" Jess looked down at Bert.

"Like what?" Bert asked scared.

"I don't know. Like he drove his car off a cliff," Jess said.

"Or bought a gun and blew his brains out," Hawk added.

"Ok, no. Johnny's an alcoholic not a pussy," Jess looked at Hawk.

"Whatever. I mean, we're here. We're gonna have to do it without him," Hawk said sadly.

"Do what without me?"

Everyone turned around to see Johnny walking up to them. His face was full of determination.

"Lawrence!" Jess slapped his back.

"We didn't think you were going to show up," Hawk looked at Johnny.

"I may not always win, but I never back out of a fight," Johnny looks at everyone.

"Words of wisdom spoken by Johnathan Lawrence! Everybody give him a standing ovation! Whoo!," Jess sarcastically clapped. Johnny glared at Jess, but she just kept going. Timmy grabbed her arms and brought them down.

"Please, continue, Sensei," Timmy said awkwardly.

"All right. Let's sign up," Miguel threw his arms up in the air impatiently.

"Not yet," Johnny looked at everyone once again.

"There's one more lesson I have to teach you"

"All teams report to the locker room in five minutes"

All of Cobra Kai was now inside the stadium. Everyone was circled around Johnny. He stood in the middle ready to give an inspirational speech.

"You've all learned to strike first, to be aggressive, not be losers. I taught you to strike hard, put every ounce of your power behind everything you do. But I haven't taught you the third rule of Cobra Kai," Johnny pauses for dramatic effect.

"No mercy. The older you get, the more you're gonna learn that life isn't fair. You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls, takes a big, steaming shit in your mouth," Jess's and Hawk's faced formed into one of disgust.

"You get an "F" on a test, you get suspended. You fall in love with a girl, and some other dude comes and steals her away. Car gets set on fire. Just when you think things are good, everything falls apart. That's how it goes," Jess listens closely as she realizes that everything Johnny is talking about had happened to him.

"Life shows no mercy, nether do we. We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above water. We do whatever it takes to keep moving forward. We do whatever it takes to win! Remember who you are. You're badass! You don't give a shit! You kick ass! You're Cobra Kai," Johnny pumps everyone up. Jess and Timmy look at each other with a smirk on their face.

"COBRA KAI!" Miguel yells along with Jess and Timmy.

"YEAH!" Everyone else yells.

"All right, guys. Let's get down there and kick the skit out of everybody!," Johnny yells with a smile on his face.

"YEAH!"

Miguel takes out his gi, but Johnny stops him.

"No. You're not wearing those"

"From Reseda, returning to the tournament, we have-"

The announcement gets cut off by the dojo entering.

"COBRA KAI! COBRA KAI! COBRA KAI!"

All of Cobra Kai jogs out chanting. Jess was second in line with Miguel in front of her and Timmy behind her.

"Now that's what I call an entrance! And a badass name for a dojo! Let's hear it for Cobra Kai!"

Jess looked at the audience and her eyes eventually landed on her family. Anthony was invested in his video game and Sam looked shocked to see her sister there. Her eyes landed on Daniel and Amanda. Amanda looked mostly shocked, but Daniel's face hurt Jess the most. His face was shocked, but his eyes were filled with disappointment. More then Jess had ever seen. He shook his head and looked to Johnny. On the inside the look her father gave her broke her, but she wouldn't let it show. Her face became serious and dark as she looked straight ahead.

"And finally, fighting unaffiliated from North Hills, we have Mr. Robby Keene"

Jess's eyes widened as she saw Robby run out. They make eye contact and Robby smirks and gives a sarcastic wave. Jess huffed and rolled her eyes.

"All right, folks. Get ready. It's karate time"

Jess was currently fighting a guy from another dojo. So far Bert, Aisha, Timmy, and many other students had been eliminated. Jess had gone against so many people that her ankle was starting to kill her.

The boy, whose name was Xander, threw a kick at Jess which she easily blocked. He threw a few punches before he did a jump kick. Jess stumbled back as she barely missed. He did a roundhouse kick, but Jess grabbed his leg and kicked him. He fell to the ground in pain, but quickly stood up.

"Point, LaRusso. 2-2"

Jess got back into her fighting position. She striked first with a punch to the face that he blocked. As Jess went to throw a kick, Xander swept her legs. Jess fell to ground with a loud thud. Xander stood up and kicked her in the stomach. Jess groaned in pain as she hunched over.

"Sorry," Xander held out a hand to Jess. She glared at his hand and pushed it away. She stood up and glared at him.

"Eat shit, asshole," she shoved him to the ground and stormed off.

"You fought good, LaRusso. You'll get him next time," Johnny reassured.

"Whatever. Apparently I wasn't good enough," Jess looked at Johnny.

Jess didn't respond. She just looked at the four semi finalists. At the front stood Hawk, Miguel, Robby, and Xander.

"Yes! Let's give it up for all our competitors. You're all winners. We have seen some great fighting today, haven't we? There can be only one true winner, and he is standing on this stage right now. Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai Karate? Will it be Hawk...well, I guess it's just "Hawk" from Cobra Kai Karate? Will it be Robby Keene, unaffiliated?"

"It's Ponytail! Not Robby Keene. Ponytail!" Jess yelled out. No one heard her over all the cheering coming from the audience.

"And last but certainly not least, last year's champion, fighting out of Topanga Karate, Xander Stone!"

Xander did some cartwheels and weird flips. The announcer looked at him weirdly. He took the microphone away and started speaking.

"I just wanted to say, even though I love to fight, we all need to fight together against hatred," Xander gave some long speech. Jess and Johnny rolled their eyes. Johnny couldn't say anything, since he was standing in front of everybody, but that didn't stop Jess.

"Shut up already! No one gives a shit we just want to see some badass fights!" Everyone looked at Jess.

"What? You know I'm right," Jess shrugged and some people murmured in agreement.

"First up, Stone versus Diaz!" Let's go!"

"Kick this pussy ass bitch in the face!"

Miguel and Xander fought, but in the end, Xander didn't stand a chance. Miguel won with a score of 3-1. Next was Robby versus Hawk. Robby calmly walked onto the mat. Hawk jumped up and let out a yell. They got into their fighting positions.

"Ready? And fight!"

Robby threw multiple kicks at Hawk. Hawk blocked all of his kicks before he grabbed Robby and threw him to the ground and punched him in the stomach.

"One point, Hawk!"

Robby stood up and got back into position. Daniel yelled out to him. Robby started taking deep breaths and calmed himself down.

"Ok, fighting positions! Ready? And fight!"

Hawk threw the first kick and punch to Robby. He blocked all of them and pushed him away. Hawk threw a kick, but Robby blocked it. He than did a roundhouse kick sending Hawk to the ground.

"One point, Keene!"

Hawk and Robby started arguing with each other on the mat. Whatever Robby said, it had really upset Hawk. He ran up to Robby as he was walking back to his position on the mat and kicked him in the shoulder. Jess, along with everyone else, gasped. Robby fell to the floor in pain as he held his shoulder. Johnny ran onto the mat and leaned down next to Robby. Jess furrowed her eyebrows confused to why Johnny cared so much that Robby got hurt. Johnny was sent back to his side. He looked at Hawk angrily.

"What the hell where you thinking, man?" Johnny slapped his shoulder. Hawk turned around and glared at him.

"What was I supposed to do, be a pussy?" Hawk walked back over to the Cobra Kai's. Miguel and Jess both grabbed Hawk at the same time and dragged him down.

"I can't believe you did that," they both said. Jess slapped him over the head.

"I think the dye in your hair is seeping into your brain. You were a nerd. Aren't you supposed to be smart or something?" Jess exclaimed.

"Why do you care, Jess? Out of all of us, you hate him the most," Hawk pointed out.

"I hate him with every fiber of my being, but that doesn't mean that you should get yourself disqualified!" Jess yelled.

"So you're mad that I got myself disqualified and not because Robby's injured?" Hawk asked.

"Yes! You think I give a shit on what happens to Ponytail?" Jess exclaimed.

"With that disqualification, Keene earns a trip to the finals. We'll see him back here after a short break"

Jess turns to Hawk angrily. She grabs him by his gi, yanking him closer to her.

"If he wins because of you, I swear to god I will cut off that Mohawk," Jess shoved him and looked back at Robby who was being led away.

"This is it, folks. The moment we've all been waiting for. The final match to determine who will be victor and champion. Will it be Miguel Diaz from Cobra Kai Karate? Will it be Robby Keene, unaffili-" a woman runs up to the announcer and whispers something in his ear.

"Daniel LaRusso's gonna coach?"

The woman nods and walks back over to Daniel.

"Daniel LaRusso is gonna coach! I'm sorry, folks, there's been a change. Robby Keene will now be fighting for Miyagi-Do Karate with former champion Daniel LaRusso as his Sensei! How about that? Good luck, gentlemen," the announcer runs off the mat.

Daniel and Johnny walk up to each other. They glare at each other as they share some most likely unkind words.

Timmy looked at Jess to see her reaction. Her mouth was agape in shock and her eyes were wide. Timmy put two finger under her chin and closed her mouth, but she opened her mouth again. Jess looked at him shocked.

"W-why? Why would he coach? I'm telling you my dad is not just against Lawrence, but me as well," Timmy put an arm around her shoulder.

"You're dad is something. And not in a good way," Jess nods as she looks back at her father. They make eye contact and Jess glares at him before she looks at Miguel. Their eyes connect and Jess punches her fist, signaling him to beat the shit out of Robby. Miguel nods and turns to Robby with a glare.

Jess looks at Robby and she sends him a sarcastic wave. She drags her thumb over her throat like she was be heading someone. Robby's eyes widen and he shakes his head. Jess smirks and nods.

"You're dead," she mouths.

Miguel and Robby get into their fighting positions. They stare at each other with no emotion.

"Face me. Bow."

Miguel and Robby face the referee and bow.

"Each other. Bow."

Miguel and Robby turn to each other and bow.

"Fighting positions. Ready? And fight!"

Miguel immediately throws multiple punches at Robby, but he blocks them all. He sends a kick but Robby just throws his leg down. They go back and forth until Robby pushes Miguel and kicks him in the stomach. Miguel falls, giving Robby the first point.

"And stop! Point! Keene and Miyagi-Do get the first point"

Jess jumps up and down, "Give him a body bag!"

"Positions. Ready? And fight!"

Miguel throws a spinning kick to Robby. He blocks it and tries to kick Miguel multiple times. Robby ducks as Miguel pretend the throw a punch. Miguel uses this to his advantage and kicks Robby right on his shoulder. He punches him in the gut and Robby falls to the floor.

"Stop! One point"

"Diaz and Cobra Kai with the point. Now it's 1-1"

"Ready? And fight!"

Miguel throws multiple, fast punches at Robby. He elbows Robby in his shoulder and he grabs it in pain. Miguel sweeps his legs and when Robby falls he punches his shoulder.

"Point!"

"That makes it two points for Diaz"

Daniel calls time and he runs over to Robby, who is hunched over and holding his shoulder in pain. Daniel runs off and Robby stands back up walking back to his spot. Robby does some deep breathing. He puts all his focus on the fight. He keeps his eyes closed.

"Hai!"

Robby's eyes snap open as he swiftly blocks Miguel's kick. Miguel throws quickly punches towards Robby. He blocks them all and throws Miguel to the floor. Robby didn't get the point because Miguel fell out of bounds.

"Stop! Out of bounds! Out of bounds! No point. Out of bounds"

"Ready? And fight!"

Miguel pretended to throw a punch making Robby duck. Miguel smirked and pushed him to the ground roughly. He kicked his shoulder, and when he went to kick him again Robby rolled out of the way. Robby got on one arm and did a two-legged kick. Everyone started cheering and Jess looked at Robby in shock. Her dad always told her of that move, but he was never able to do it.

"How about that? A two-legged kick"

Robby walks over to Miguel and offers his good hand to help him up. Miguel looks at his hand, but he grabs his injured arm and pulls it harshly. Robby yells out in pain and he falls to the ground. Jess gasps while the rest of Cobra Kai cheers for Miguel. The audience boos as Miguel is pushed back by the referee. Miguel is given a warning even though Daniel wants otherwise.

"Whoever wins the next point will be our new champion!"

They both get into position. Miguel glare daggers at Robby as he waits for the fight to start.

"And fight!"

Miguel lunges at Robby. He starts punching and kicking him. Robby was able to block everything and he even landed a kick to Miguel's back. When Robby went to kick Miguel, Miguel grabbed his leg and kicked Robby's shoulder. Robby stumbles back, but Miguel kicks him and he falls to the ground.

Miguel won.

Jess and the rest of Cobra Kai run onto the mat and lift Miguel up into the air. Jess looks over at Daniel, but he just shakes his head and walks away.

"COBRA KAI! COBRA KAI! COBRA KAI!"
