━━━ ( 💌 ) chapter six...
jeno's orbs glided across the black and white painted screen, and his fingers were clicking on the mouse in a never ending manner. but just as the movements created by his fingers increased, the hope that blazed in him did the opposite. with time slowly chasing him, there was not much that could be done, not a lot of options were available in his current situation and jeno knew it.
" guys, we only have five more minutes," jisung entered the room sending the bad message to jeno, which frustrated the latter even more.
the other chinese male also grew impatient and unhappy with their progress of finding the sender dressed in black-who handed the letter to chenle that day. they spent minutes, hours eagerly boring their gazes on the screen, but because they weren't granted the advantage called "camera position" the camera installed wasn't able to capture chenle's front door clearly. in result, their supposedly simple and straightforward approach turned to a rather complex one.
" maybe try, " chenle paused, using his memory to remember the specific time, " try to find the ones that are around eight to nine,"
the korean obediently followed his advice, pressing a few buttons to change the settings and screen view, in order to match with the time chenle had previously said. and with that done—everyone's eyes were back on the screen again, hunting for a black hooded figure. the room was filled with a tense type of silence, all eyes were focused on the computer screen, glancing at every clip patiently, silently wishing time wasn't moving that fast and their efforts were enough to save the day.
luck was in their side.
" bullseye! " jeno muttered, swiftly hovering the mouse over the pause button as chenle and jisung cheered in glory, stretching their arms because they have accomplished their goal.
not celebrating yet, jeno still had his gaze fired on the hooded figure which he then recognized was a female, once he spotted a brunette ponytail sticking out from her hood and judging by her petite figure. but still, with the figure of the female already evident in front of their eyes, jeno still couldn't spot anything bizarre from her looks and his memories couldn't recall any memories about her, not yet probably, because he hadn't seen her face.
chenle stopped his cheers and got back to starring at the black figure, slumping his shoulders weakly, " now, what are we going to do? "
jisung comforted his lover by resting the palm of his hand on the chinese's bed of hair, gently ruffling it for a boost of motivation. just when everyone had started losing hope and motivation once again, jisung was the only one observing her looks squinting his eyes once he noticed something familiar.
he let out a light chuckle which shocked both jeno and chenle, " don't worry, i know how to find her. "

" stop here please, " jangmi signaled the taxi driver who then moved the vehicle near the sidewalk.
jaemin peeked his head outside enthusiastically—finally, he was able to breathe air that wasn't going to suffocate him. the black strands of his hair twirled gently as the wind played with it. then before he even knew it, a pair of arms encircled around his thin waist as he felt his body being lifted, then placed on the wheelchair. he didn't pay attention to the wheelchair or his body, rather he was hit by the strong feeling of nostalgia that settled in his heart by the scenery laid out in front of his gaze.
in plain sight was a scenery of a ruined bridge its rusty metal acting as the only structure, dozens and dozens of colorful locks bounded for eternity to the chains of the olden facility. it maybe just a ruined and forgotten bridge to some, but to jaemin's eyes it was still the same colorful bridge he used to spent his childhood at. the bridge practically became a witness of his wonderful and joyful childhood.
little jaemin spent his weekends with his family in the bridge, running across the facility while feeling the chilly breeze of the wind and once in awhile observing all the locks being hung by a pair of couple or a loving family. doodling the locks were also one of the things he did to cure his boredom.
his parents, the infamous and wealthy na family built the bridge for the people of seoul to enjoy. for a long time it had been a source of joy for many. so how did such paradise of happiness turn to a ruined forgotten mess?
everything went downhill after the horrifying plane incident which unfortunately also took the lives of both of jaemin's parents. of course the whole town wept for their loss and soon after, the bridge became an unfamiliar place for little jaemin, as happiness was no longer contained in the place he used to genuinely love.
and he was back again after all the long years, there was still a hint of sadness mixed with a feeling of nostalgia. but on top of all of that, jaemin's heart felt peaceful, with the wind gently blowing against his hair and the chirps of the birds which became a rhythm of relaxation.
jangmi noticed the smile painted across her cousin's place, she quietly approached him, " so, you enjoying your time? i've never seen you so happy before."
" i am actually, i used to hate this place especially after my parent's death, but somehow visiting it now just gives me a different and somehow calming vibe," jaemin replied still focusing on the bridge.
" well then, i'm going to get some drinks for us and leave you to have some alone time," jangmi started walking away but at a distance she stopped and glanced at jaemin, giving him a warning she almost forgot, " and don't do anything foolish while i'm gone got it? "
jaemin gave his cousin a thumbs up, and once he couldn't spot jangmi's petite figure, he moved his wheelchair closer to the bridge, entering a territory marked he wasn't supposed to be on. yet he continued moving his wheelchair- most of the time glancing at the endless rows of bright colored locks that was being helplessly blown by the wind.
he squinted his eyes observing every single one, searching for a certain lock hung a few years prior. it was almost impossible to spot one in a sea of thousands but jaemin successfully found it.
the lock was painted baby blue with messy scribbles placed randomly on its surface, and two initials placed on the center.

best friends forever !!
jaemin chuckled at the childishness, though apart of him missed the innocence of a child. he pulled a key out of his pocket and unlocked the object freeing it from the chains.
having the lock in his hand, and a book he pulled out in his other, jaemin started writing his letter...
dear jeno,
take this letter as my last one, after this ( if my time isn't up yet ) i promise you i'll gather the courage to tell you everything i have done wrong, every truth you deserve to know. while waiting for me to reveal myself somehow, here is an object that'll remind you of my brother ( p.s i heard you haven't moved on yet, and as difficult as it sounds you definitely should ) because you'll never know what a person truly is until every truth is unveiled right? though i hope that after it is you're love towards kyungmin wouldn't disappear, it wouldn't right?
