dexter had grown up with a code — harry's code — his father knew who he was, what he was, and he wanted to help his son. it was now the year 2006, dexter was now thirty five years old working as a blood splatter analyst for the miami metro pd. he seemed normal enough that he could blend in and act like any other regular person, until that need would arise — his dark passenger pulling him to spill blood himself. he only killed those who deserved it, he was helping the world by doing it — that's what harry told him with the code. he lived like this before the "lab geeks" title went from just him and vince masuka to him, masuka, and a woman named mallory reznor. dexter knew something was different about her but he didn't know what until he ran into her at the same marina dumping trash bags just like he was.
