There're many types of writing. Below are four of them.

1. ACADEMIC WRITING: This is a formal writing usually used in tertiary institutions or for publication in education sector.

2. CREATIVE WRITING: This is a kind of writing that involves the use of one's creativity to create something ingenious. It comes in the form of fictions, non-fiction, poems, memoirs, autobiographies, etc.

3. PROFESSIONAL WRITING: These are business writings that includes, memos, proposals, minutes, reports and so on.

4. TECHNICAL WRITING: They are instructive writings that outlines the steps involved in a process. They come in the form of manuals, recipes, and guides.

So these are the four types of writings that I know of. Can you guess the category writer's like us fall under? If you're thinking of creative writing then you're correct. Applaud yourself. Now, we shall dwell deep into creative writing. The other writings aren't really our focus here.
