ππππππππ ππππππππ was someone no one wanted to mess with maybe it was the way she had such an angelic smile, yet her words could be like venom aiming to hurt you out of spite for something that happened days, weeks, months, or even years ago.
The billionaire heiress never forgot when someone crossed her, or someone she cared deeply for; the list was so small that everyone knew never to go for those on the list. Maybe it was the way she could twist your own words against you like a twist of a knife; making herself the victim of the cruel words she spewed.
No one truly knew the true Veronica Duquette but her elder brother and the only true family she had left in life. She had disowned her mother before her sudden death; her father cared more about Denny than he did with her, she fully understood yet their bond was a strained one, between the two yet they had one common goal in life; to keep Denny alive as long as possible. Veronica became a doctor so she could have the knowledge to help Denny when they were home, or even at the hospital where she could help him even more.
No one ever expected Veronica to hate someone as much as she hated Isobel Stevens, they used to be the best of friends as they were apart of the same intern group.
Until the day Isobel did something so unforgivable, something that had tainted the way she viewed the blonde doctor who swore up and down she didn't have anything to do with it. Yet everyone knew the truth and they fully stood with Veronica.
Some would say that Veronica was the 'mother hen' of Bailey's interns, some would say she was the 'new nazi' always knowing what went down within the walls of Seattle Grace.
Having grown up in Seattle, Washington Veronica knew the ins and outs of every place as a child she would wander the hospital while Denny was in the hospital she had memorized every inch of the hospital which had always surprised the doctors, nurses, even Denny himself when she came wandering back to his bedside rambling about a cool surgery she saw the chief doing or some other lesser important doctor.
Everyone figured out surgery was in her blood with how she spoke; she spoke about wanting to save the world, grow up to be the greatest doctor Seattle has ever seen; with her eidetic memory and high IQ she graduated high school early; college a few years later. Veronica eventually became the youngest intern to ever join the residency class at Seattle Grace Hospital, the same hospital she practically grew up in almost every day of her life.
Everyone in the hospital heard the whispers of Veronica Duquette joining them, only those who knew her when she was younger grew excited to see the female again, the doctors who still worked on Denny to this day always called her when the bill was due knowing that Daniel Duquette Jr. would forget to pay without meaning too.
No one expected an intern of Bailey's to be late coming in on an ambulance with a male wearing a bloody designer-looking shirt and shouting orders to the paramedics who looked fearful of the young female.
She wouldn't let anyone touch her brother but those who knew Denny and or her. A wicked grin formed on her red-painted lips as she eyed Isobel Stevens but she never spoke after finding out some little information that Denny had told her about the blonde. No one saw the look but Izzie.
Everyone in the hospital heard the familiar voice of the one and only Veronica Duquette shouting for Doctors Miranda Bailey and Preston Burke and Chief Richard Webber who knew never to deny a request from the Duquette siblings quickly remembered the last time he denied one of the siblings when the other was in the hospital it almost ended with a lawsuit for the hospital and the chief himself.
Everyone knew never to piss Veronica Duquette off, everyone but Isobel Stevens who continued to push her buttons their entire intern year to the point she got physical with the blonde on multiple occasions outside of the hospital and inside the hospital a few times which landed the blonde doctor in her own hospital room.Β Everyone knew when Isobel was in the hospital room to steer clear of the whiny overdramatic blonde doctor.
Veronica spent most of her time with Denny, she read her favorite books to him, he always said that he loved the sound of her voice while she read, how soft-spoken, how angelic her voice sounded that even the nurses and his doctors would stop by randomly just to hear the raven-haired beauty reading to her big brother who was like a father figure to her.
Denny always hated the hospitals, the smell of how sterile everything was, he hated to be poked and prodded every hour on the dot, but once when Veronica came home explaining what she did how she became a doctor, he knew she would become a doctor he never knew that he was the reason for her career path.
Denny now tolerated the hospital, he tolerated the smell, he tolerated the needles and the tests; but only if Veronica was the one to stick him with the needles, only if Veronica was on his team of doctors the moment she stepped away for another case was the moment everything halted with his case until she came running back into his room with a bright smile telling him all about her shift after she had to leave his room.
Veronica was the one person who never betrayed Denny, she was the one person who never treated him like a china doll that could break at any sudden moment. She may have been the youngest of the Duquette siblings, but the female was always the most protective, she learned how to kickbox, box, martial arts at a young age she was a black belt in martial arts she excelled at hand to hand combat and fighting and it showed every time she came into the hospital when she was younger with bloody lips, busted knuckles, bruised ribs.
No one but Miranda Bailey knew the truth behind the bloodied female she always ranted to the intern at the time about how she got into fights at school over people talking shit about Denny, how she had to put them in their places, and never utter another bad thing about her brother.
No one truly knew why the raven-haired female had eyes as cold as ice, how they held little emotion in them, nor the sneer on her face each time she saw Isobel Stevens with her brother. Everyone knew how close Izzie and Denny had begun to be, the secrets that flew through the hospital the rumors of the blonde using Denny for his money.
Which had made its way to a seething Veronica Duquette who was the soul trust fund accountant for Denny and his will which he had changed one day knowing he would one day die he just never expected it to be by the hands of someone he loved, someone he had begun to trust and let into his life, someone he knew that his sister would end up killing.
Even though Denny was the eldest sibling, he and Veronica were always close. One never apart far from the other sibling especially when either one was in the hospital. Everyone remembered how protective Veronica was of Denny especially when Isobel was around.
They knew one day Veronica would snap on Izzie Stevens for neglecting her duty as a surgeon and spending all her time with Denny. But they never expected for her to snap at the blonde doctor over something as small as Jello during lunch, or about her brother and how the blonde model was stealing Denny from her.
The venomous words she spat towards the blonde, the sneers she wore each time she saw the blonde, the small hurt-filled remarks she tossed the blonde's way.
Veronica Duquette was a walking enigma to everyone at the hospital and she was a devilish woman to everyone who knew her, she could dance with the devil and not get burned by the flames.

danced on the fine line of heaven and hell and no one could stop her.
