Mystery Spot.
CHAPTER SIXTY SIX , MYSTERY SPOT
a/n : GO BIRDSSSSSS 🦅 🦅 🦅
━━━━━━━━━━
"I still think the two of you are nuts. But whatever this is, we'll figure it out."
Sam gives Dean a small and pained smile, "Thanks."
Athena rubs her forehead.
"So, uh...if you guys are stuck in "Groundhog Day" why?" Dean inquires. "What's behind it?"
Athena sets her hands on the table and sighs. "At first, we thought it was the Mystery Spot. Now...we're not so sure."
"What do we do?"
"Well, we keep you breathing, try to make it to tomorrow." Sam answers. "I mean, that's the only thing I can think of."
Dean shrugs, "Shouldn't be too hard."
Athena raises her brows and softly laughs. "A piano fell on you, crushing you like The Wicked Witch of the West." she then wipes her brow. "It's going to be hard."
"Did it--"
"No, it didn't look cool." Athena scoffs. "You're legs were hang out from the side of the piano."
"Well, nothing's set in stone." Dean says. "You say I order the same thing every day, right?"
"Pig 'N A Poke, side of bacon." Sam and Athena exhaustedly repeat.
Dean nods his head. He looks at the waitress, who was at the window. "Excuse me, sweetheart."
The waitress turns to Dean.
"Can I get sausage instead of bacon?" Dean calls out.
The waitress smiles, "Sure thing, hon."
Dean looks back at his siblings. "See? Different day already?"
A small smile forms on Athena's lips. "You see, if we decide that I am not gonna die, then I'm not gonna die."
You can feel the tension leave Sam and Athena's bodies. The waitress sets Dean's breakfast in front of him and he thanks her. Dean takes a bite out of his sausage in a triumphant manner. Athena couldn't stop a bit of laughter from escaping her lips.
Suddenly, Dean lets out a cough. Athena turns to Dean and her smile drops as he grasps at his throat. "Oh, shit..."
"Dean?" Sam's jaw goes slack. "Dean?"
Heat of the moment.
From slipping in the shower, to weird tasting tacos, and even getting accidentally killed by Sam himself. Dean died in various ways, yet Sam and Athena still didn't have a clue on how to get out of this time loop. Maybe they never would.
They were back at the diner for the 100th time. The siblings all sit in the booth.
"Hey, Tuesday. Pig 'N A Poke." Dean points.
Athena tosses the keys onto the table. Dean blinks, "What are those?"
"Mr. Pickett's." Athena sighs, sinking into her seat. Dean pulls his brows together. Athena could see the confusion across his expression. "Trust me. You don't want him behind the wheel."
"You three ready?" The waitress looks at them.
"Yes, we are. I'll have the special, a side of bacon, and a coffee."
"Hey, Doris." Sam speaks. "What I'd like is for you to log in some more hours at the archery range. You're a terrible shot."
Athena winces thinking about Dean's death by Doris' arrow.
"How do you know--"
"Lucky guess." Sam says.
Doris confusedly walks away. Dean looks at Athena and Sam, "Okay, so, you think you're caught in some kind of what again?"
"Time loop."
Dean raises his brows, "Like 'Groundhog Day'."
"Doesn't matter. There's no way to stop it." Athena sighs.
"Jeez. You two are grumpy." Dean teases.
"Yeah, we are." Sam says. "You want to know why?"
"Why?"
"Because this is the 100th Tuesday in a row we've been through, and it never stops." Sam states. "Ever. So, yeah, We're grumpy."
Athena lifts a hand, "Hot sauce."
"What?"
The waitress approaches with the tray. "Coffee--black, and some hot sauce for the--crap!" The hot sauce topples over the tray. Sam catches it and sets it on the table, without even looking. "Thanks!" she walks away with a smile.
"Nice reflexes." Dean says.
"I knew it was gonna happen, Dean." Sam states. "I know everything that's gonna happen."
"You don't know everything."
"Yeah. I do."
Athena rolls her eyes. "Here we go..."
"Yeah, right." Sam and Dean chorus.
"Nice guess."
"It wasn't a guess." Sam says.
"Right, you're a mind reader."
Athena props her elbow onto the table and lays the side of her head against her fist. "Cut it out, Sam. Sam."
The brothers lean forward, "You think you're being funny, but you're being really really childish."
"Sam Winchester wears makeup."
Athena snorts.
"Sam Winchester cries his way through sex."
Dean clenches his jaw. "Sam Winchester keeps a ruler by the bed, and every morning when he wakes up--okay enough!"
Dean leans back in his seat and exhales. He looks at Athena, who was smiling--entertained by the ordeal. "That's not all." Sam says. "He looks at the man behind the stand. "Randy, the cashier? He's skimming from the register."
"Judge Meyers?" Sam motions his head to the man. Athena giggles, "At night, he puts on a furry bunny costume!"
Shaken by anyone even having knowledge about that, he accidentally spills his chocolate milk. Athena sends him a thumbs up, "You do you, your honor!"
"Over there--that's Cal." Sam looks at the man. "He's gonna rob Tony the mechanic on the way home."
"What's your point?" Dean asks.
"My point is we've lived through every possible Tuesday." Sam says. "We've watched you die every possible way. We have ripped apart the Mystery Spot, burnt it down--hell, even Athena's blown up the town--"
"She what?" Dean snaps his eyes over to his sister. "You what?"
Athena waves her hand, "Relax, it was a simple mental breakdown." she sighs. "I figured we should all just down with the town. It obviously didn't take, though."
"The point is, we have tried everything to save your life, and we can't." Sam continues. "No matter what we do, you die. We wake up and it's Tuesday again."
After breakfast, they all walk down the sidewalk (Again). "Dog." Sam sighs.
The dog starts to bark.
"There's got to be some way out of this." Dean shakes his head. "Where's my dang keys." Athena repeats.
"Where's my dang keys?" Mr. Pickett pats at his pockets.
"Excuse me." Sam speaks.
The blonde bumps Dean's shoulder. "Excuse me."
"She's kind of cute." Dean chuckles. He then slows his walking and a crease forms between his brows. He stops his siblings, "Hey. All the times we've walked down this street, I ever do this?"
Dean walks after the blonde. "Excuse me, Miss!"
Sam and Athena exchange a look. "No..."
Dean comes back with a flyer, "100 Tuesdays, neither of you bothered to check what she was holding in her hands?"
Sam and Athena shrug.
"This the guy who went missing?" Dean holds the flyer up.
"Yeah."
"That's his daughter back there." Dean says.
Sam's jaw goes slack and Athena smiles. Sam grabs the flyer and runs after the woman.
"Way to go, Dean!" Athena exclaims. "Your ogling eyes finally helped us!"
Dean rolls his eyes. He looks at the Golden Retriever and pushes his lower lip out. "Hey, buddy. Somebody need a friend?"
Athena snorts, "Believe me, the second my brother's ask me to be my friend and I take it? That's the day I die..." she looks at Dean walking towards the barking dog. "Get away from the dog--you don't even like--"
The dog lunges and grabs at Dean's throat.
Heat of the Moment.

"So, the police report says Dexter Hasselback is a professor, but that's not all he is."
"What is he?" Dean asks.
"I talked to his daughter. The guy's quite the journalist." Sam says. "Columns in magazines, a blog. He writes about tourist attractions--Mystery Spots, UFO crash sites. He gets his kicks debunking them. I mean, he's already put four of these places out of business." he turns the laptop to Dean.
"Dexter Hasselback: Truth Warrior?" Dean reads. "More like pompous schmuck, you ask me." Dean murmurs.
Sam and Athena nod in agreement. "Yeah. Tell me about it. I mean, We've read everything the guy's ever written. He must've weight a ton, he was so full of himself."
Athena giggles, "Nice one."
"When did you two have time to do all this research?" Dean asks.
Sam and Athena chuckle. "Come on." he packs his laptop up and gets out of the booth. Athena and Dean follow suit.
Dean then laughs.
"What?"
"It's just funny, you know. I mean, this guy spends his whole life crapping on Mystery Spots and then he vanishes in one." Dean continues to laugh. "It's kind of poetic, you know? Like just deserts."
Athena snorts, "I didn't think about that...pretty ironic."
Dean walks past them.
"You're right. That is just deserts."
That's when they both notice it. Dean turns and realize Sam and Athena were both looking at an empty plate of food. "What's wrong?"
Sam and Athena exchange a knowing look. Athena looks to the window at the man who was just in the diner.
"Guy has maple syrup for the past 100 Tuesdays--all of a sudden, he's having strawberry?" Sam shakes his head.
"It's a free country." Dean says. "Man can't choose his own syrup, huh? What have we become?"
"Not in this diner. Not today." Sam shakes his head. "Nothing in this place ever changes--ever. Except us."
Heat of the Moment
Sam sits up from his bed and looks around with his body already shaking with fury. "Rise and shine, Sammy!"
The front door swings open and Athena looks around the motel room. "Son of a bitch--hurry up."
"Athena, Asia!" he points at the radio.
Athena clenches her jaw and looks at Sam.
They all make it to the diner. Dean noticed that Sam and Athena were quieter than usual. They both seemed angry, but he had no idea about what. "So, you think you're caught in some kind of what again?"
"Eat your breakfast." They both order.
Dean frowns and shrugs them off, continuing to eat. The man sitting on the barstool, stands up and walks out of the diner. Sam slides out of the booth with the bag in his hand and Athena was right on his heels. Dean watches his siblings walk out of the diner. "What's in the bag?" he stands up, sets money on the table, and walks out.
Sam pins the man against the gate with the stake against the man's neck. "I know who you are. Or should I say what."
"Oh, my god. Please, don't kill me." The man whimpers.
"Uh, Sam..." Dean speaks with uncertainty.
"It took us a hell of a long time, but we got it." Athena says, pointing at the man.
Dean's eyes widen. So, they were both riding the crazy train? That's nice...
"It's your M.O. that gave you away." Sam says. "Going after pompous jerks, giving them their just deserts. Your kind loves that, don't they?"
"Y-Yeah, sure. Okay." The man shakily says. "Just put the stake down."
"Guys, maybe you should--"
"No!" Sam snaps. "There's only one creature powerful enough to do what you're doing--making reality of out nothing, sticking people in time loops."
"You'd pretty much have to be a God." Athena adds. "You'd have to be a trickster."
"Mister, my name is Ed Coleman. My wife's name's Amelia--I got two kids. For crying out loud, I sell Ad space!"
"Stop lying!" Athena raises her voice. "We know what you are!"
"We've killed one of your kind before!"
Suddenly, the man's face morphs into another face. The same face from almost 2 years ago. This was the same Trickster.
"Actually, Bucko, you didn't."
Athena's shoulders sag, "Shit. We didn't kill him."
"Why are you doing this?" Sam asks.
The Trickster squints, "You're joking, right? You chuckleheads tried to kill me last time. Why wouldn't I do this?"
"And Hasselback--what about him?" Dean asks.
"That putz?" The Trickster smirks. "He said he didn't believe in wormholes, so I dropped him in one."
"Then you guys showed up." The trickster shakes his head. "I made you the second you hit town."
"So, this is fun for you?" Athena scoffs. "Killing Dean over and over again?"
"One--yes, it is fun, and two--this is so not about killing Dean." The Trickster states. "This joke is on the two of you."
Athena pulls her brows together. "Watching your brother die every day. Forever."
"You son a bitch."
"How long will it take the two of you to realize you can't save your brother...no matter what?" The Trickster says.
"Oh, yeah?" Sam's jaw clenches. "I kill you, this all ends now." he presses the stake further against his neck.
"Hey! Whoa--okay." The Trickster nervously chuckles. "Okay, okay. Look I was just playing around. You can't take a joke, fine. You're out of it. The both of you. Tomorrow, you two will wake up, it'll be Wednesday. I swear."
"You're lying."
"If I am, you know where to find me--having pancakes at the diner."
Athena and Dean roll their eyes. She rubs her forehead, "It'll be easier to just kill him."
"Sorry, kiddo. Can't have that." The Trickster then snaps his fingers.
Sam's eyes fly open and he sits up from the bed.
"What, are you gonna sleep all day?" Dean says.
"No Asia." Sam chuckles.
"Yeah, I know. This station sucks." Dean sighs.
Sam looks at the day on the alarm clock. "It's Wednesday!"
"Yeah, which usually comes after Tuesday--"
The door flies open, revealing a smiling Athena. "It's Wednesday!"
Sam stands up from the bed. Athena runs over to him and hugs Sam.
Dean blinks, "Jeez, how many Tuesday's did you guys have?"
"I don't know. I lost count."
"150!" Athena beams. "Wait. What do you remember?"
"I remember the two of you being whacked out of it yesterday, then I remember running into the Trickster." Dean explains. "But, no, that's about it."
Athena raises her fists, "Yes!"
Sam smiles, "All right. Pack your stuff. Let's get the hell out of town--now."
Athena raises her brows, "You don't have to tell me twice."
"No breakfast?"
Athena and Sam turn to him, "No breakfast."
Athena leaves the room to go pack her bags. Gil was sitting in the middle of the bed when Athena finished zipping her last bag. Athena lets out a breath of satisfaction and nods her head.
A gunshot rings out from outside of the motel. Athena jumps and turns to the door with her breathing quick. "No, no, no..." she runs out of her room to see Sam running down the stairs. Her eyes look around the parking lot. They land on the Impala and Dean laying right next to it. "Dean!" Athena runs down the stairs, her boots splashing in the rain puddle. She makes it to her brothers and falls to her knees.
"No, no, no..." Athena's hands hover over the gunshot wound. She looks around the area and her eyes turn to the sky. "What's happening? Nothing's happening?" she looks at Sam. "Why are we still here?"
Sam shakes his head, "I...I don't know." his eyes fill with tears. Athena looks down at Dean, his head dropping to the side. A cry escapes her lips. "No, oh my god--no." she cups his face.
Athena's eyes widen and tears run down her cheeks.
☆
6 months Later.
Ever since they found Dean bleeding out on the parking lot pavement, they hadn't stopped looking for the Trickster. The mood in the Impala was different. It was quieter. Sam and Athena were still close, but they also knew they were missing someone.
Their big brother. Nothing would ever be the same again.
Athena doesn't even remember the last time she talked to Jo or Bobby. Sam told her that Bobby had been leaving voicemails for him, but there was nothing relevant to finding the Trickster. And that's the only thing that was on the Winchester's minds.
Athena was in the middle of feeding Gil when Sam was in the bathroom. He had gotten another call, but he sent to voicemail. Again. Athena runs a hand over Gil's soft black fur as he eats from his bowl. She stands up and walks over to her bed, and pulls her duffel bag open. Athena grabs the beretta that used to belong to Dean. A painful lump forms in her throat and her hands begin to shake. Her legs began to feel numb and she had to sit on the edge of her bed. Athena's fingers run over the gold casing on the gun and a small cry escapes her lips.
All this time, she had treated Dean like shit. Sure, she was angry and everyone told her it was okay to be angry. But, Athena knew Dean was going to die and she still didn't move forward with forgiveness for Dean. Why couldn't she put her anger aside? Why couldn't she just let herself heal? Now, she was broken beyond repair. A gentle pressure runs across her calf and she looks down at Gil. A soft bit of laughter escapes her lips and a tear runs down her cheek. "Hi." she sets the gun on the nightstand and picks up Gil. "I'm okay. Just thinking about my regrets."
Athena presses her lips against Gil's fur and closes her eyes. "I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay..."
"Athena?"
The girl turns her head and looks at her big brother. "Hi."
Sam's eyes were soft and filled with guilt. They've been like that a lot recently. Athena would see Sam staring off into space and she knew he was thinking about what he could've done to help Dean. Maybe he could've found a clue earlier that hinted at the Trickster. But what Sam didn't know is, Athena was thinking about the same thing. They both had guilt that couldn't be washed away easily. But at they had each other. The two were grateful for that.
"Uh, Bobby left a message. He found him."
Athena's jaw clenches and her soft expression quickly hardens. She sets Gil down, "Did he tell you where he is?"
"We're meeting him at some abandoned house in Tucson." Sam says.
Athena sucks in a breath, "Lets go." she grabs Dean's gun and slips it into her waistband. Athena brushes past Sam and Gilbert, walking out of the door.
With Sam speeding down the freeway, Sam and Athena made it to the cabin at a descent time. Bobby stands up from the circle he had finished drawing on the floor. He turns to the siblings and his chest tightens.
Athena hadn't touched her hair, allowing it to go back to it's auburn hue. The 14 year old had stopped wearing the bandages over her eye. Now, she had her white iris on display. The scar was more evident without the bandage. The scar went from eyebrow through her upper cheek. It took too much out of Athena to even do much, which is why she stopped wearing her bandage. She only had the energy to find the Trickster. Besides seeing Dean's dead body in, all that ran through her mind was the Trickster.
Bobby walks over to the two. "It's good to see you two." he wraps his arms around the two. Athena absentmindedly raises a hand and taps his back.
"Hi, Bobby." Athena croaks.
Bobby pulls away from the two.
"What are we doing here, Bobby?" Sam asks.
"Well, it's the last place we're sure the Trickster worked his magic." Bobby states.
"What does that mean?" Athena asks.
"You two want this thing? I found a summoning ritual to bring the Trickster here." Bobby explains.
"What do we need?" Sam inquires.
"Blood."
"How much?" Athena asks.
"Ritual says near a gallon. And it's gotta be fresh, too." Bobby says.
Athena raises her brows. "Meaning we have to bleed a person dry." Sam says.
Bobby nods his head. "And it's gotta be tonight. Or not for another fifty years."
Sam inhales and nods his head. "Then let's go get some."
Athena pulls her brows together. Sam turns to leave the cabin, but Athena clasps her hand around his wrist. "Wait." she seethes. "You can't seriously be thinking about killing someone."
"Athena, what choice do we have? This is how we find the Trickster, and this is how we get Dean back." Sam says.
Athena shakes her head, "Dean wouldn't want us to do this. He wouldn't want to come back this way."
Sam fully turns to his little sister. Athena looks up at him. She obviously wasn't going to support his decision no matter what. But she wasn't going to stop him either. Athena wanted Dean back as much as Sam.
Sam walks away from her and walks to the door. Bobby hangs his head low, "You break my heart, kid."
Sam and Athena turn to him.
"What?"
"I'm not gonna let you murder an innocent man." Bobby says.
Sam shakes his head, "Then why'd you bring us here?"
"Why? Because it was the only way the two of you'd see me!" Bobby shouts. "Because I'm trying to knock some sense into you! Because I thought you'd back down from killing a man!" he then turns to Athena. "And I thought you'd try harder to stop him."
Athena squints her eyes and her jaw clenches. "Well, you thought wrong." her tone was firm. "If you don't want to help us--leave. We'll do it without you."
"I told you, I'm not gonna let you kill a man." Bobby says.
"It's none of your damn business what we do!" Sam snaps.
"You want your brother back so bad?" Bobby leans down and pulls a knife out of his bag. Athena pulls her brows together as Bobby holds it out to Sam. "Fine."
"What are you talking about?" Sam asks.
"Better me than a civilian."
Athena's eyes widen, "Bobby. No."
"Bobby, you're crazy." Sam says. "I'm not killing you."
"Oh, now I'm the crazy one." Bobby says. "Look, guys, I'm old, I'm coming near the end of my trail. But you two can keep fighting. Saving folk. But you guys need your brother. Let me get him back to you."
Athena shakes her head. "That's not happening!"
"You, Sam, and Dean..." Bobby's voice shakes. "You kids are the closest thing I have to family. I wanna do this."
Sam looks down at the knife and he grabs it. Athena's eyes widen, tears filling her eyes. She wasn't going to lose Bobby too. Not only would Dean never forgive them, but she wouldn't forgive herself either.
"Okay."
"Sam!--"
"Good." Bobby nods.
Athena looks between the men. "Stop, stop--this is crazy."
"Just make it quick." Bobby turns and falls to his knees. "Do it, son."
Sam's hand begins to shake. Athena's breathing quickens, "Sam, please--don't."
"Hey, trust me, okay?" Sam touches her shoulder. Athena swallows thickly and hesitantly nods. "Okay, Bobby..." Sam holds the knife out to Athena and she grabs it, confused. Sam then pulls a stake out of his jacket. And Athena pulls her brows together.
"But you wanna know why?" Sam asks. He falls to his knees behind Bobby and plunges the stake through his back. Athena gasps loudly when the tip of the stake comes out of Bobby's chest.
"Because you're not Bobby."
"Sam!" Athena cries out.
Sam stands up, allowing Bobby's body to fall forward. Athena walks over to Bobby's body. "Bobby--No!"
Sam wraps his arms around Athena, "It's not Bobby--"
"What? Are you crazy?!" Athena thrashes in his grip. "You killed him--You killed him!"
Sam looks back at Bobby's body and it begins to vanish. Athena stills in Sam's grip and she blinks her tears away. Once his body is completely gone, the stake falls over--but it flies past the siblings and into the Trickster's hand. Sam and Athena whip around to face him.
"You're right. I was just screwing with you." The Trickster says. "Pretty good, though, Sam. Smart." he then pouts his lip out to the girl. "Athena, I thought you were better than that. Guess you're not as mentally there as you used to be."
Athena was quick to wipe her tears away with a shaky hand. She hated to admit it, but the Trickster was right. Her mind hasn't been in the right place these last 6 months.
"Let me tell you, whoever said Dean was the dysfunctional one has never seen you with a sharp object in your hands." The Trickster points at Sam. He then points at Athena. "Or you just...in general."
Athena's jaw clenches. "Holy 'Full Metal Jacket'."
"Bring him back." Sam softly pleads.
"Who, Dean?" The Trickster pulls his brows together. "Didn't my girl send you flowers? Dean's dead. He ain't coming back. His soul's downstairs doing the hellfire rumba as we speak."
Athena shakes her head. "You can just take us back to that Tuesday--er, Wednesday when it all started." she desperately suggests. "Please. We won't come after you, I swear."
"You swear." The Trickster deadpans.
"Yes."
"I don't know. Even if I could--"
"You can." The siblings chorus.
"But that don't mean I should." The Trickster states. "There's a lesson here that I've been trying to drill into those freakish Cro-Magnon skulls of yours."
Athena rolls her eyes, "What lesson?"
"This obsession to save Dean? The way you three keep sacrificing yourselves for each other?" The trickster shakes his head. "Nothing good comes out of it. Just blood and pain."
"Dean is your guys' weakness." Dean states. "And the bad guys know it, too. It's gonna be the death of you, Sam. Sometimes you just gotta let people go."
Athena shakes her head, "We're siblings. Of course, we're each other's weakness." she scoffs. "And since we're siblings. We need each other."
"He's our brother."
"Yup. And like it or not, this is what life's gonna be like without him." The Trickster presses his lips together.
"Please. Just--please."
The Trickster looks between the two siblings, both of them wearing puppy dog eyes filled with tears. "I swear, it's like talking to a brick wall." he shakes his head in disbelief. "Okay, look. This all stopped being fun months ago. You're Travis Bickle in a skirt, pal. I'm over it."
Athena sniffles, "Why are you comparing him to Taxi Driver?"
"I was talking about you, kiddo."
Athena's mouth drops open.
Suddenly the Trickster snaps his fingers and Sam opens his eyes. He shoots up from his bed and looks around the room.
"What, you gonna sleep all day?" Dean asks from the sink. Sam's face drops at the sight of his brother. Dean looks at the radio, "I know, no Asia. This station sucks."
Sam looks at the day on the radio and lets out a breath. "It's Wednesday."
"Yeah, usually comes after Tuesday." Dean nods. "Turn that thing off."
Sam quickly gets out of the bed and makes his way over to his brother. He then crushes him into a hug. The door flies open and Athena's breathing was quick. Her eyes land on Dean and they quickly fill with tears. "Oh, my god..." she whimpers. Athena runs over to Dean and wraps her arms around him. Dean softly grunts from the impact. Athena hugging him was weird. He hasn't felt it in so long.
"How many Tuesdays did you two have?" Dean asks.
"Enough." Sam softly speaks. "What do you remember?"
"I remember the two of you being whacked out of it yesterday, then I remember running into the Trickster." Dean explains. "But, no, that's about it."
Athena exhales, "Let's go."
Dean pouts, "No breakfast?"
"No breakfast." Sam chuckles.
Dean reluctantly nods his head, "All right, I'll pack the car."
Athena tenses. "Wait, you're not going anywhere alone." Sam stops Dean.
"It's the parking lot, Sam." Dean says.
"Just trust us." Athena assures.
The Winchesters all got their bags packed, and Athena met back in Sam and Dean's room with Gil in his pack on her shoulders. Dean could feel a heaviness between Sam and Athena. He knows that they saw him die over 100 times, it was bound to mess them up. But, there was something else too.
"Hey, you guys don't look so good. Something else happen?" Dean asks, at the door.
Athena bites the inside of her cheek and looks back at Sam. Sam stares at his bag for a moment, "I just had a really weird dream."
Athena swallows a lump. "Mine was a nightmare." she looks at Dean. A small breath escapes her lips. "I'm glad we're getting out of here."
Dean nods his head. He raises a hand and touches the top of the 13-year-old's head. "Me too."
