Anurag:

GOT IT!

I jerked from my chair immediately and stood there for a moment to calculate the plan going on in my mind. After yesterday, I spent my entire night thinking about a plan. And finally came to a conclusion. Satisfied with my calculations, I made my way towards dad's cabin.

I knocked and waited until I got permission. His face snapped to see the intruder, and even Manik was present there, too. Great.

"Dad, I've an idea." And I had their complete attention. I took a step ahead and calmly explained to him my plan to them. Pros cons and whatever we needed to do. In fact, it was completely harmless, and even if it failed, we were in no danger. I completed speaking and waited patiently for them to react.

"But if someone uses it against us?" Bhai asked, to which I nodded.

"Everything is going to be fake. There'll be nothing related to us, but it is definitely related to the information Ahaan is interested in."

Dad got up, thinking something deeply. "So you have suspects in your mind?" I nodded. "On what basis?"

"Mid day absence of someone without informing. Or the presence of a person in the meeting room even after meeting has ended. There are many. But some of them are not usual." I replied, to which he nodded.

"You're sure about it?" I nodded. "Then go ahead."

"Oh, please." Bhai rang like alarm in between, "We'll half half."

I frowned, "This isn't a chocolate, sir."

He shrugged, "I don't care."

I sighed, "There are four suspects, do mein do tu." He grinned and showed me a huge thumbs up. I nodded disbelief and exited the cabin with him.

"Waise tere me itna dimag kaise?" He asked, keeping his index finger on his chin as if thinking something serious.

I rolled my eyes, "Padaish hai bey. Teri tarah nahi."

"Yeah, as if I'm confused whether the girl is my friend or..." I glared at him as he trailed off, throwing a fake cough. He cleared his throat, and we entered my cabin.

"Let's start, shall we?" He smirked at me before taking his seat while me sitting on my chair. I dialed the intercom and gave the necessary instructions.

Suspect 1: Pragya Sharma

She entered with the asked file and passed it to me. I pretended to go through it, just when, "By the way Anu, the hotels for the trip is booked, right?"

I picked up my pen to mark some changes while answering, "Of course. World tour must be planned as such, right?"

Suspect 2: Rohit Mittal

As he entered with, again, another file, this time I chose to speak, "Your plan with your girlfriend is still on?" I saw him choking on his water, and his eyes widened. The entire office knew that he got recently married.

Yeah, yeah, I shouldn't poke him, but who cares.

He passed me a lip tight smile, yet choosing not to answer, knowing it would only put him in a fix. Neither did I ponder knowing I've pissed him already.

Minion's aiyappa, save me!

Suspect 3: Tanya Rao

Again, another file came in. But this time, I was aware that my brother would take his revenge on me, "I think you can now finally think about marriage since you are sure about the girl." And there you go.

"You may leave." I passed file to her, who nodded and left while I glared at him. "So you are teasing me?"

He shrugged, "Just taking revenge."

Kasam khuda ki agar pata hota nah iski shadi ke samay, ki aisa hone wala hai. Agle saath janam tak nahi chidata!

I sighed and nodded in disbelief. "Just give me the news, bro. Soon!"

I scrutinized my gaze, "There's no news. Kaam pe dhyaan de." He chuckled while I called in for the last suspect.

Suspect 4: Varun Sood

Another file. I'm literally checking files that aren't even important.

Sahi hai

"Why did you drop this important client, Anu?" He asked, meddling in his phone.

"They were a threat to the company." I answered. "Besides, I never liked them." I said, passing him the file and gesturing him to leave. I sighed in relief and slumped down.

"Phew!" I wiped my fake sweat.

"Dramebaaz." He murmured, shaking his head in disbelief.

I glanced at my watch, "Now in another few minutes, I'll receive a call."

And indeed, exactly ten minutes later, my phone rang depicting Mr. Sen's number. My eyes snapped at Manik's, who smirked equally. I picked up the call and put it on the speaker.

"Hello, Mr. Sen."

"What am I listening to, Mr. Malhotra." He sounded infuriated.

I pretended, "I didn't get you, Mr. Sen."

"You drop your investors based on your likes and dislikes? Are these your business ethics?" And boom!

"We'd like to hold a meeting. Today, in few minutes? Please sir if urgent." I suggested. He seemed reluctant but nevertheless agreed. As soon as I ended the call, I dashed out of my cabin and marched towards that person.

Workers were quite astonished seeing me like this, but I don't care. Catching hold of the culprit, I held his collar and dragged him towards dad's cabin.

"Sir..." He tried speaking, but one glare from me, and he dint dare to. Manik opened a cabin for me as I threw the man inside, taking dad by shock.

"It's him." I explained him everything, then followed a brief silence. It didn't take another minute for dad to end his meet and completely focus here.

Varun Sood!

"May I know what is going on in the office?" Dad asked, leaning back on his chair and eyeing that guy intently.

He evidently shivered, "I dint get you, sir?"

Dad chuckled, "Oh, you will.." He was interrupted by a knock. Mr. Sen and Ahaan entered.

"Good to see you again, Mr. Sen. Please have a seat." He obliged dad's words while Ahaan stood beside me.

"May I know the reason behind this sudden meet?" Mr. Sen asked, that again shifted dad's attention towards Varun.

"Will you admit or should I?" I gritted, glaring him hard. He stepped back at the effect, resulting in slight unbalance.

"I..."

"No lies." Manik warned monotonously.

Varun sighed in defeat and passed an apologetic glance to Ahaan before narrating the entire story. He was working for Ahaan, but when he was placed here for a job, his connections as an employed person from Ahaan's office were completely distanced. Taking advantage of the same, Ahaan hired this guy for the information of our company. My presentation was leaked by this guy, very clearly. He deleted the history of transactions and fucking caused this blunder.

Next what followed was an abnormal silence, before Mr. Sen chose to break it, "It's pretty much clear where the fault lies." Our eyes darted towards the person who stood there unbothered and sighed.

"I'll accept whatever you decide Mr. Sen." Ahaan said, leaving no option for himself. He has dig his own grave, and thus holds no right to complain about it.

"My decision is pretty much clear, Mr. Verma." Mr. Sen replied. He  "You have the deal, Mr. Malhotra." A sigh of relief erupted from my chest, while dad's face finally caught hold of a smile.

Peace

I looked at Manik, who looked at me, equally beaming. The deal was signed, and an official statement was given out. And of course, we didn't miss the person who exited out quite dully.

But we didn't ponder. You shall reap what you shall sow.

Soon, we bid adios to Mr. Sen, and got back to our daily routine. I entered my cabin and slumped down on my chair, pretty tired of the day's happening. Just when I heard a knock. Groaning in frustration, I permitted the entry. Gate opened up to reveal an office staff.

"Sir, this is for you." I raised my eyebrows, as he forwarded a packet.

I received the packet before asking, "Who sent it?"

"There was a delivery boy. And the sender name was..." Before he could complete, my phone rang, interrupting him abruptly.

An immediate smile took its place on seeing the name. I dismissed the person and picked up the call.

"Kahiye mohotarma?"

[Tell me, madame?]

"Everything sorted out?" Was her first question. I sighed, leaning on my chair as if all my tiredness evaporated into thin air as her voice hit my eardrums.

"Yes. We have the deal." I could feel her grinning ear to ear at the news.

"I knew it." She exclaimed, pretty happily. "Congratulations, jerk. See, you had it."

I nodded, "I should thank you, Minion. If not you yesterday, I don't know what I would've done."

"In that case, you would've figured it out. Just little late."

"I wouldn't have."

"You would've baba."

I sighed and nodded, "It's weird, but it's true. I wouldn't have. It's like my body isn't functioning as per my wish anymore." No lies. I haven't lost so much control over my body ever. This girl has outdone so many things already, and my consciousness, or even subconsciousness will not allow me to get back to my original self.

I'm happy this way

"By the way, that packet you are holding, open it." Creases arranged themselves on her statement until I realized that she was talking about the packet that was just delivered.

"You sent this?"

"Yes sir. Now open." I kept my phone on speaker and slowly started opening the packet. "A brownie with ice cream?" My mouth already started watering. Just what I needed, it seems.

"You must be tired with these two days happening and running excess of your brain nah. Dessert might help you to survive the remaining few hours of the day." I went speechless. She thought so much? For me?

"But this, Minion.." I still had no words.

"Areh itni badi baat bhi nahi hai. Chill."

[Areh it isn't even that big deal.]

Smile broke on my lips, again. I picked up my phone and removed it from the speaker before attaching it to my ears. "But what if I say this won't give me the peace I want?"

I could practically feel her frowning, "Then?"

"What if I say I need a tight hug from my therapist?" I asked, smiling slowly.

There was a soft silence from the other side, before she breathed out, "Then you can." She said and continued, "But today, you need to be with your family. Have rest. We can meet anytime, nah."

Yes, of course

We have world's time, and she is here with me.

That is it. I need to word out all I feel. Maybe she feels the same, or even if she doesn't, there's no pressure. But I need to confess it. "Then meet me. Tomorrow is a Sunday. Give me your evening, and I'll make sure you'll remember it throughout."

"Are you asking me out, Mr. Malhotra?"

I shuddered before speaking, "Miss. Murthy, will you give me the pleasure of taking you out tomorrow?"

My heart beat accelerated with each second that passed in silence. She might say no, too. It's okay, Anu. Remember, it's you and her and not you or her.

"Yes." I sighed in utter relief.

I bit my lips to control the biggest smile coming up, "So, I'll pick you up tomorrow?"

"No, send me the location. I'll come." I agreed. We spoke for some time. About things. Various things, and then had to end the call because of some work commitments.

I exhaled inaudibly, and my hands reached to open the box she had sent for me. Ah, the smell hit my nostrils. I wouldn't stop myself from taking in a huge bite and moaning at ease of taste.

Perfect!

I rubbed my palms excitedly yet nervously. This was it. Butterfly erupted on the mere thought of her being my date. Tomorrow is the day. God, I felt excited. Nervous. Happy. Everything.

Damn you, Murthy.

A thought rushed through my veins, and my hands immediately dialed a person, explaining him everything in detail.

Tomorrow will he Perfect, Minion

I promise.

End:

Little did they know...

Nandini:

"Kaha reh gaye yeh log?" Maa murmured, glancing at the clock for the nth time. It would be a little to say if I wasn't tense too. It was already ten, and they hadn't even reached home yet.

"Aa jayenge Maa. Aap yeh lijiye." I said, forwarding her the glass of water and sitting beside her on the sofa.

Our eyes snapped at the door as we heard car honks and breaks screeching. I sighed in relief as the men entered. I stood up and stepped aside as dad came in, placed his office bag on the shoulder, and sat beside Maa. I immediately made my way inside the kitchen and came out with glasses of water. Dad smiled before taking the glass. I went ahead to Anurag,

He picked up the glass, "Thank you, bhabhi."

I placed the tray on the table and picked up the glass before moving towards my husband. The first button of this shirt was open, his hair was messy, and he entered with a coat hanging on his arm.

Uff

I passed him the glass and made an attempt to move away until I felt a tug on my wrist. I turned back, only for him to pull me to the sofa near him.

All of them were tired. Manik had said me about the problem that came up in office, and also updated me about the resolve.

"Chalo, go and fresh up. We will set dinner table." Maa said, and I nodded. They went inside their respective rooms to fresh up.

The next few minutes, and all of them were seated on the table. Dad pulled Maa beside him and before my husband could, I myself sat beside him.

"Din kaisa gaya aapka?" I heard him speaking beside me.

I replied, "Acha tha. Tiring but good."

"You told me about that complicated case you were worried about. How did that go?" He remembers.

My eyes twinkled, "It was successful Manik. You won't believe, it was successful."

He nodded, "I do believe meri jaan. Congratulations bache." My eyes widened as he attempted to kiss my forehead. I nudged him with my elbow, eyeing towards the people in front of us, who were busy in themselves.

Maa papa talking giggling. Anurag busy in phone and we are here.

I gave him bombastic side eye, to which he chuckled and nodded in amusement.

Soon our dinner came to an end, and all of us departed to our respective rooms.

I entered our room, to see him sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed.

"Tired?"

He hummed at my question, resting his head against the sofa. I did nothing but walk behind the sofa, quietly ran my fingers against his locks, and pressed them against his temple gently.

He immediately held my wrist, "Nah, bache." He murmured softly before pulling my hand to his chest from behind itself and planting a soft kiss on them. I leaned forward and rested myself against his shoulders before whispering, "Let me, Manik. Aap thake hue hai."

[You are tired]

"Toh aapne bhi din bhar soya nahi hai. Kaam hi kar rahin thi nah."

[Then even you weren't sleeping the entrie day. Even you were working nah.]

"But.."

"Acha, you want to help me with my tiredness?" I nodded. I scrutinized my gaze, seeing him smirking, and then pulling me forward, holding my wrist. He pulled me closer and made me sit on his lap. I nudged a bit and made myself comfortable before wrapping my hands around his neck.

"Kahiye. Kya madad kare hum aapki?"

[Tell me, what help shall I do?]
