16 | Kisses And Misses |

Ridhit:

"EarthCon project?" I stood there in the meeting room, with my hands tucked in and eyes flaring at every person present there. "I asked for it like, a week ago. So there's this one day we aren't present the office fucking doesn't functions?" I roared, as every soul present shivered. They lowered their gaze, to which I rolled my eyes and groaned before banging the table resulting in a loud noise. "That is it, you have today's time. By this evening I need it in front of me. And if you cannot, start searching for another job."

"Sir, please give us a couple of days. Entire project will be presented." Some employee muttered.

I snapped to him, my eyes digging holes in him, "I did, Mister. But you all chose to roam around and gossip. Am I right or am I right?" Every eye was stuck on the ground except for one confused one. "I see, everyone here is more interested in what's going on in my life rather than the office. If so, then FUCKING LEAVE!" I was infuriated. They forget that this is my office and I am aware of every step and every breath of each employee here.

"Rid...sir." Urvi started but immediately fell silent as my gaze came up to her. Probably understood that this is definitely not a place for me to take preacher's lessons.

"Today's day. Or else search for another job. DISMISS!" They started exiting, except for, of course, one soul. She stood up towards me, while I spoke, "Please Luna. I didn’t overreact." It came out as a snap, unexpectedly.

"I know." She breathed out.

I exhaled in frustration and rubbed my palms over my face, "I'm sorry. Just..."

She immediately nodded in a no and stepped towards me, "It's okay."

"No! Just...don't let me speak like that to you. Ever." She is the last person I want to hurt right now. I give a damn about anyone else exiting or entering but her. "Punch me, slap me, kill me. Don't let me use that tone."

She giggled, "As if I can." I raised my eyebrows, "I mean. You're such a tall, huge lion. I'm literally like an ant in front of you."

"Yeah, the ant that manages to control this lion on the tip of her fingers." I murmured, looking here and there.

"What?" Oh, she didn't hear. Thank God.

"Nothing. Get free sooner today. We have a ball to attend, remember."

"Yep! But Ridhit, just.." She looked at my questioning gaze, "Please wear something..good."

"Excuse me?"

"Yeah, like a human. With colours and not just black."

I smiled sarcastically, "Then why don't you pick something for me?" She nodded thoughtfully, as we exited the room and replied, "I'm thinking that too. At least you'll look fine to stand by me." She waved her hands and moved ahead giggling. I stood there, chuckling at the retreating figure.

Kya ladki hai yeh

I shook my head and made my way into my cabin only to be welcomed by weird confused gazes on my path. How do you expect them to react when you see your boss angry at one moment and chuckling at another. She's spoiling my damn reputation. I entered my cabin only to see, "Hello brother?"

I rolled my eyes, "You entered my cabin without permission Advaith." Yeah as if it's the first time someone bangs inside without your permission.

"Yeah only she's allowed to enter is it?" I turned towards the direction he was pointing to from where entered...her.

She seemed to notice us now and stood erect, "Uh, no...actually... uh."

Advaith interrupted, "No bhabhi. I was just kidding." He chuckled.

"Stop..." She started, "Calling me that." Bhabhi. It elicited weird sensations in me. A sort of companionship and sense of belonging. Because he won't call anyone else by that endearment and calling her that only depicted and directed towards one thing.

"Adat dalni padhegi na." He said, shrugging while we chose to avert our eyes from each other. It felt forbidden and yet, contended.

{I should get habituated right}

"What are you doing here Advaith." I asked, attempting to shift the conversation to a different direction.

"Oh yeah, that. I needed a few signatures on some documents regarding the Elsa project.” I took the papers and signed after reading it thoroughly

I passed the file back, quite improved with the changes, "That's a good. Complete obligations, regulations and procedures will be discussed in detail." He nodded, and stood up to move, but halted near her.

"Bhabhi." He called out, and then bent to whisper something in her ears. I frowned when she giggled and nodded. They apparently then hi-fied and he exited the cabin.

What the hell?

I cleared my throat which successfully gained her attention. She blinked her eyes at me, with that oh innocence, "Aap bohot khaans rahe hai subah hai. Should I make kadha for you?"

{You've been coughing too much since morning.}

My mouth fell open. Is she this innocent or..it's just me? "Uh no, um..what did he say?"

"Oh that! Yeah, uh, some secret." Okay, now I'm not leaving.

"What secret?"

"You understand the meaning of secret Mr. Merhotra?" She raised her eyebrows.

I smiled sarcastically, "No I don't. Now tell me."

She shook her head, "No I won't."

I frowned, "Areh."

She shrugged and moved towards the cupboard to place a file, with that small giggle. "Luna!" I never realised it came out as a whine.

She turned to me once done with her work, with that amused look, "Why do you want to know?"

"What secret is that, you cannot even tell me?"

"Uh but.."

I stepped forward and stood in front of her, "You never giggle with me. Why?"

"Ridhit.."

"There's this frown always. Why?"

"But.."

I placed my hands on either side to block her, "There are no secrets between us." I pointed between us, "Why?"

Silence loomed around as my voice fell. Her smile faded, and what replaced it was the look. The look in her eyes that screamed something unsaid. Something that is buried so deep within us that we are left with no courage to word it out.

After what seemed like an eternity gazing into her soul, she whispered, "Ridhit." Our faces were close. So close that even our breath was obvious to each other's presence. "What we have is beyond a secret. I don't giggle with you because you have given me reason to smile. Subconsciously when my eyes used to well up, it's replaced by that smile. These aren't frowns. These are those drawings of the effect we have on each other. Some things are beyond words Ridhit. And wherever we are leading to, we both know we're going to regret. But we're welcoming it. Coz this is the only thing that has made both of us smile. Each other. Haina?" Her voice was so soft. Mere whispers of hers made my heart flutter. I gestured nothing but just caressed her nose with mine. We stood there in silence.

That is the thing. With her, even silence is peaceful. The silence which used to haunt me is apparently now my favourite place to be in at the end of the day.

Kya kar rahi hai yaar yeh mujhe?

She leaned towards the cupboard, with her eyes still shut, just when something fell down, breaking both of our trances. She flinched at the sudden voice, while I opened my eyes and looked at her. I simply stepped back and she stood properly, tucking loose strands of her hair behind her ears. We both looked down to see what fell and blood dried in both of our bodies. I felt suffocating and she stood there still, our eyes still stuck down.

The contract papers.

You know that feeling when someone slaps you out of your favourite dream? This is what I was feeling right now. As if someone has slapped me so hard that my inner self shook to the core. I simply stepped back, and gaze went up to her blank ones. She shuddered, as her eyes came to mine. Wind moves were louder than the silence between us. Silence was as deep as an ocean.

My heart was thudding at an abnormal speed, screaming a part to make me realise what me and her were. My brain roared louder, contradicting every bit of it.

Nevertheless, out of all the lies I've lived, our part was inevitable.

Ridhit:

It's been an entire day since we crossed each other's path. I was served coffee made by her, but she wasn't the one to bring. I was updated with Elite's project, but it wasn't her who did. The flowers were replaced, meetings were held but not for ones I saw her today after that incident.

I glanced at my watch which showed six PM, which means she would be coming in the cabin any moment since we had to leave for the ball party. A knock at that moment stole my attention, which revealed the incharge for the Earth Con project.

"Sir, the file is ready." He passed me the same, holding which I took enough time to go through every single thing and then nodding.

"Yet, there are changes, nevertheless, your team can leave for the day."

"Thank you sir." Again silence prevailed across the room. My sight again fell on the project file. I scoffed and smiled, shaking my head in disbelief. I did nothing but quickly dialled the intercom.

"Send Urvi, immediately." I ended the call immediately after delivering my message. By that time, I quickly went inside the spare bedroom in the cabin and changed into the day's clothes. Setting my hairs, I stepped in the cabin back, and the very next moment, my cabin heard a knock. "Come in."

And that revealed the most probable person, "Yes sir?"

I swallowed the feeling that erupted after hearing a different endearment, "We need to leave for the ball, remember?"

Realisation washed across her face, "Uh, about that." She exhaled shakily and slid her hands across her skinny jeans, "I don't have clothes with me."

I sighed and shook my head in disbelief, before getting up, tucking my hands in my pocket, "The room." I pointed, "You have ten minutes."

I walked out without waiting for her to reply. I stood there, out of that room in my cabin until I heard her footsteps trailing off and then took some steps behind, patiently waiting for her to show up. My gut said that she won't show up and I will have to make a move.

And so, I will. No matter how many steps it takes.

I waited patiently, until I was sure that she must be done. I gently knocked and entered after receiving a soft permit. The glares of twilight sun instantly fell in my eyes, which made me shut my eyes immediately. Amidst that shone the soul that adorned in black, hairs flowing carelessly and hands clutching that small sling bag.

All of a sudden the lights present in the room darkened. It seemed as if the lights were on but it lost its shine as all the shine was stolen by her.

I shivered seeing her dolled up, looking prepossessing in a black off shoulder gown which touched the ground. Her white milky bare legs, visible through the slight slit, provoked something unknown in me. Those straps on her waist coming from either side and holding the dress forming a beautiful knot just gave it a complete look.

There was a 'v' coming from her chest that just dried up my throat. Her cute height along with this dress just did wonders in my system. Her black and silky hairs were leisurely resting on her shoulders reaching her waist, flowing exquisitely. With every step she took towards me, with every moment of her's, her soul complimented the look and the aura she was carrying. This did nothing but made me behold her even more intently.

My heartbeat accelerated, my attention diverted towards her face that emerged slowly from the shadow, as she stepped forward slowly. Her eyes were filled with kohl, and eye liner, lips painted in flamingo colour. Minimal touch up, yet her face glowed in the dark room. I inhaled deeply witnessing her shining amidst my clouds as a star that lit up the darkest corners of my heart that felt oblivious to light.

She was dressed up but I felt my world lightening up just by her mere gaze. That was the control she had over me.

I exhaled shakily, my heart thumping even louder with every step I took towards her. With every step she took towards me. Her eyes never left mine, as we now stood parallel to each other.

She blinked slowly, biting her lips and then replying, "How do I respond to that?"

I chuckled, throwing my head down and shaking it slowly, "²Cosa faccio con te?"

"Ridhit!" She whined, while I couldn't help but laugh at it. "If you're using another language in front of me, and not translating it, then..." I raised my eyebrows at the threat. She stumbled, "Then I'm going to punish you."

I smirked, taking a step towards her only for her to take a step away. But before she could even do that, my hands immediately slid down to her waist and pulled her closer to me. She gasped inaudibly at the sudden contact, and I was quite sure that the touch between us would've been proof of how erratic my heartbeats are.

I leaned forward only to caress her nose with mine, and gently nudged it. Shiver ran down my spines as her hands slipped up to my arms followed by my shoulders, while I simply moved forward to nudge my nose with her cheeks. Her skin is so soft. My inner self craved for her touch. That constant feeling. Her being this close felt home. Felt as if there was someone I hold rights to. And there's someone who can effortlessly control me.

Her lashes forced closed when I slipped down to her earlobe, allowing my warm breath to fall on her cold skin. "Mmm." That sound! I was greedy enough to repeat my action, only for her to respond the same. The touch between us ignited a fire. I could feel goosebumps on her skin beneath my touch. "I'm looking forward to it, Luna." She clutched my arms as I breathed on her skin.

"We're getting late, Ridhit." She whispered, I heard. But none of us stepped back. Her hold on my shoulder tightened, while I placed my lips gently on her skin just below her ear lobe.

"Oh."

My tongue swirled the place slowly, as I sucked it at once. My control was on the verge, as I picked her up by her waist and turned around to pin her to the wall beside. "Ridhit." She gasped breathlessly.

I faced her, my face close to hers. So close. "Your denial will be my command. Yeah?" Our voices were barely audible. She nodded, and I did nothing but dig myself back to where I was, this time attaching my lips directly to her neck. My lashes shut, as my lips came in contact with her petals, placing a chaste kiss.

I nibbled her skin there slowly, for her to slide her hands up from my shoulders to my locks, pulling me closer. "Ridhit." My hunger increased. Her breath heaved under me, while I feasted on her neck, sucking, biting, nibbling, kissing. She moaned louder, pushing me even deeper unconsciously. We had no control over ourselves anymore.

I pressed her to the wall even more, restricting the movement of even a tinge of air. Our bodies were close. So close that our heartbeats synced, intensity of breath wasn't different. Her scene was intoxicating. I groaned as I felt her soft skin under my lips.

"Ridh.." She gasped breathlessly as I moved to her throat, strumming my tongue all the way up to her chin, and finally stopping on her lips. Our eyes met and I restricted myself from kissing the fuck out of her by digging myself on the other side of her neck. I bit there, and sucked the place to soothe it and peppered ever so soft kisses everywhere I could feel.

She exhaled breathlessly, while my hands moved from her waist to her midriff, just below her breasts. "Ridhit." Her whisper echoed in the room. I, in a jet speed, came out of her neck and found myself close to her face. So close. I grabbed her hands and pinned it above her head, with our foreheads connected. Her gaze never left mine, switching between my eyes and lips. This wasn't different in my case. She licked her lips, while I groaned at her actions.

I leaned forward, literally on her lips, "My patience is on its edge Luna." I whispered, "Don't test it until you want me to grab those petals of yours and worship in every way possible. Yeah?" Her soul shivered under me, and yet, she never stole away her gaze from me.

She gulped, shutting her eyes and caressing my nose with hers, "Lose your control, Ridhit."

My lashes closed automatically at her gesture, and lips stretched at her words,

" When I will, the world will know whom you belong to."

And for the moment, we chose to let our subconsciousness take over every fucking senses and let ourselves drown in pool which lead us to the world that belonged only to us.
