ALAYNE HIGHTOWER played by
Kaitlyn Dever

born 112 A.C

ALAYNE HIGHTOWER was born in 112 A.C., is the only daughter of Lord Ormund Hightower and Lady Samantha Tarly. Raised in the grand halls of Oldtown, Alayne grew up in the shadow of her older brothers Lyonel and Garmund, often overlooked in a household that prized strength and strategy. Quiet, observant, and gentle by nature, Alayne developed a keen sensitivity to the emotions of those around her, learning more from watching than from speaking.

Though soft-spoken and small in stature, Alayne possesses a quiet resilience and depth of empathy that few notice at first glance. She spends much of her time in the gardens, reading, sewing, or tending to the ravens. Despite her delicate appearance, she holds strong loyalties and a courageous heart, hidden beneath layers of calm composure.

Living in Oldtown, she grew up alongside Prince Daeron Targaryen, though their paths rarely crossed beyond polite greetings—until grief and war began to stir dormant connections and unspoken truths between them.

DAERON TARGARYEN played by
Harry Gilby

born 111 A.C

DAERON TARGARYEN the fourth son of King Viserys I and Queen Alicent Hightower, was born in 111 A.C., and though often overshadowed by his elder brothers Aegon and Aemond, he was widely regarded as the most courteous, chivalrous, and level-headed of Queen Alicent's sons. Raised in Oldtown from a young age and fostered by his Hightower kin, Daeron grew into a knight of noble bearing, known for his politeness, diplomacy, and skill with both sword and lance. Despite the growing tensions between the Blacks and Greens, Daeron retained a sense of quiet dignity and introspection that set him apart.

Unlike his more tempestuous brothers, Daeron is thoughtful, tactical, and deeply loyal to his family. His bond with his dragon, Tessarion the Blue Queen, reflects his inner character: graceful, steady, but not without fire when provoked.

However, the war hardens him. And so does heartbreak.

His quiet, unspoken affection for Princess Vellena Targaryen—his silver-haired niece—was a deeply kept secret. Though their paths only crossed briefly, the day when he won the tournament for Vellena's sixteenth nameday was the day they got betrothed and Daeron was beyond joyful. Then his father died bc the Realm broke in two. Him and Vellena on different sides stil he had hope. But when her raven came with those cruel words—"Forget me"—Daeron felt something splinter within.

From that moment, something inside him shifts. Though he remains composed in court and duty-bound on the battlefield, Daeron begins to distance himself emotionally, wrapping himself in discipline and silence. His broken heart becomes a hidden wound, one he bears alone.

It is Alayne Hightower, his quiet cousin, who begins to notice the change. She doesn't ask questions at first. Instead, she offers calm companionship—no expectations, no judgment. As the war rages and Daeron is pulled deeper into its violence, Alayne becomes an anchor to a softer world he fears he has lost. And without realizing it, their bond will deepen—not as a sudden blaze, but a slow and steady ember. Perhaps it is in Alayne's quiet understanding that Daeron will find the part of himself that Vellena unknowingly shattered.

"You don't have to say anything,"
she whispered.
"I know," he replied. "But with you, I want to."
