Chapter 6
Time skip to August 2023:
JANE'S POV:
Finally the middle school was over and there was only one month left of summer until I would start 9th grade as a freshman. To be honest it was scary as hell to become a high schooler because the "walking through school as a ghost" will become even harder since everyone would have their eyes on you, that is how the teenagers are, always checking others, starting to gossip even if it's good or bad, then you would become the most famous young fellow in the school. Anyways, enough about school for now, I was in my last four weeks before the torture would start and good for me that today the best of friends I could have asked for were going to come to Boston and spend two weeks with me and my family, have you guessed already? Yes, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast. Honestly as a very introverted person I had never thought that I would find any friends except for Emma but it seemed I was wrong and those sweet souls appeared into my way and made my life thousand times better than it could have ever been.
"I think Walker is into you" Emma stated layed on my bed making me startle while I was brushing my hair at the make-up desk.
"Beg your pardon?!" I exclaimed turning my head at her with the most shocked face I ever had, sometimes Emma's sudden words were surprising even to me and I say this as her best friend.
"Yeah... like he always texts you... every. damn. day. And has a freaking cute nickname for you" Emma explained sitting up on the mattress of my light blue blanket, with a hopeful grin spread all over her face.
"Because we are friends. And he texts Aryan and Leah too like I do" I answered placing the brusher back on the desk as I looked at myself in the mirror.
"Friends?! Sureeeee... and you totally don't like him as more" Emma spoke with her usual weird voice whenever she wanted to make her point clear. I rolled my eyes and smiled amused as I turned back to face her.
"No, I don't. Em, you got to accept this. Me and Walker are good friends and that is all" I told her softly noticing the change in her facial expression. Without a doubt, she became pissed off because since I've met her and she knew about my situation with Mike, Emma had been trying to find another boy who would get me out of my stupid childish crush.
"Jane, come on! When september starts we're going to be freshman girls at Winchester High School and you'll still be in love with donkey face?!" she uttered irritated talking about how stupid I was while still being head over heels for a boy who didn't even deserve to be in my presence, but I was a fool back then.
"Mike is a dick. Comparing Walker to him is not even a reasonable because everyone would know the correct answer!" Emma continued getting up from the bed, I looked down at the flowers on my carpet while playing with my fingers, deep down I knew she was so right but I could not admit it then.
"He was not always like that..." I mumbled trying to find excuses, the Mike from my childhood was a different person from the one he is now and I was 100% sure that Amanda washed his brain but I could not prove it.
"He is now! And you, my dear bestie, MUST move on" Emma emphasised bending down in front of me and taking my hands in hers while smiling softly to my face. I smiled back, she was the perfect person I would ever call best friend and I felt so much luck having her around.
But before I could have said something more, my mom called out for both of us to go down in order to welcome our guests. As I was saying at the begining, the cast was coming to spend one week of August here in Boston, Walker was coming with all his family since Pennsylvania was only 6 hours away while Leah, Aryan, Charlie and Dior were coming on the plane along with all their parents and they would all stay at the hotel that was right next to my house because leaving on a crowded neighbourhood like mine was either a flex or the worst thing ever.
While me and Emma were walking down my parents were already welcoming the Scobells with hugs and laughter, my brothers shook hands with Tanner, a cute scene to watch and waved awkardly at Leena who didn't notice since she was too preoccupied talking to my mom. My dad was telling Walker something about his books and when I took the last stair they both noticed me.
"Oh, honey. You're here" my dad spoke before walking away with a rather disappointed smile because I interrupted his way too important relating. First sight it was unbelievable because I could see him clearly there, he got very tall while I remained at the same height, shocking news for sure.
"Good to see you, jeans" Walker smirked walking to me with his hands in his pockets, noticing my surprise made him even more satisfied.
"How tall are you, man?!" I exclaimed looking up at him, he was almost one head taller than me, I was feeling like a little child because I practically had the height of one.
"How small are you?" he asked back grinning and making me sigh angrily, he would always would try and make a joke out of anything.
"Do you know when the others would arrive?" I asked deciding to change the subject because it was to much tension and I had no idea why.
"Not sure. Leah and Aryan should be here in two hours, Dior and Charlie... I don't know yet" he responded checking his phone before his mom called for him and he had to go to the in the living room where everyone was chatting.
I followed after him and I was met with a smirk from Emma and Leena as I sat on the sofa between them.
"Why my stupid brother, girl? But I'm here for the drama" Leena muttered with a giggle, even his sister was thinking about me and Walker as a couple.
"I've told you" Emma whispered hitting my shoulder a bit, I didn't say anything back while trying my best not to blush and having no idea why would I blush, me and Walker were just friends and it would never be something more, right? Yet if I knew how clueless I was in that moment I would hit my head with a baseball bat.
