August 2023:
JANE'S POV:
What do I love about summer vacation or any other school break is that I can sit all day in my bed and do absolutely nothing (but I mostly end up watching a movie that of course I don't finish before falling into a deep sleep in the middle of the day just to stay awake almost all night, my routine is a mess I know). Unfortunately this whole coming week I won't be able to to do that since I'm going to be partying with all my friends from the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Did it happen to any of you that your friend group chooses an activity for you all to do together but in someway you are not fond of it so you shut your mouth up in order to not upset anyone? Well... it quite happened to me, sadly...

The next day after Walker arrived in Boston with his whole family, Leah, Dior, Charlie and Aryan managed to get at the hotel right on time, my parents decided to hold a party at our house (you'd be surprised of how big it is, I sometimes get lost inside myself) and Emma (the best friend whom I owe my life to and all kind of stuff, but has no idea how to bite her tongue) proposed that we should go to the beach, surely everyone agreed, how delightful for me...

The strange thing with me and the sea or ocean is simple, I don't like them, they don't bother me. I can't stand when I'm into a pool or river or anything else where I can't touch the ground with my feet (some scenes from Percy Jackson were literal nightmares for me, they will haunt me until my last breath).

"Come, sweetie" my mom said walking out of our car with my father. We arrived at the beach where not so surprisingly were so many blankets and people coming to enjoy a warm day of August.

"I'm going to do some diving" one of my brothers, Patrick, said with a smirk looking over at Hayley, my other brother.

"If I hold my breath longer, you must let me play with better weapons for the whole weekend" Hayley proposed pulling his hand out just for Patrick to shake it making a deal. I rolled my eyes at the two while closing the car door, they usually did those kind of bets over stupid things like video games, even if they were 17 and 18 they didn't act mature at all.

"Jane" Dior startled me by practically jumping behind my back and pulling me into a hug before walking me towards their blanket. Leah, Charlie, Aryan and Walker were already there, their families chatting under the umbrellas where my parents already joined them, just a few feet away from us while drinking some lemonade.

"Let's go. The others are in the water" Dior spoke with a smile thinking that I will go, I looked over to the sea feeling my stomach hurt at the sight of people swimming with so much bravery.

"Yeah... I'm gonna sit here a bit..." I choked hardly moving my eyes back at her before sitting down on the blanket with my song notebook in hands. Dior gave me a confused look before running into the water to join the others, I knew what she must have been thinking that maybe I was a freak because who doesn't enjoy the water when coming to the beach?! Well, that person was me and probably the only person in the world.

I sat myself comfortably on the blanket, luckily the sun didn't bother me because of the umbrella, and continued to write the song I had been working on all week, it felt nice though to be outside and to feel the soft breeze touching my skin. Notification from Em💗

Of course I blushed a bit because she said a little too much which made feel weird, Walker helping me to swim, nobody except my family and Emma knew about my fear and if the Percy Jackson cast would find out I would die of embarrassment.

"Hey" Walker said making me jump and look up at him, his blonde curls were a bit darker from the water.

"Jesus people, stop scaring me!" I exclaimed earning an amused laugh from him, my hand was on my chest because of his sudden appearance that vanished my daydreaming away.

"Why don't you come into the water?" he asked curiosity all over his face as he tried to understand the weird me.

"Uhm... I don't feel like it..." I mumbled looking down on my notebook playing with the pencil against the sheets. Walker raised an eyebrow with a smirk showing up on his lips "Really? And writing whatever you do there is much better?"

"Yeah..." I answered not paying attention to what he was saying because my whole focus was on the lyrics to rhyme perfectly. But I never expected for Walker to do what he was going to do to me, out of sudden he grabbed me by the waist and lifted me up over his shoulder and carried me into the sea while I was telling him to put me down but he would not listen.

"Walker? I don't know—" I wanted to say as I felt being dragged under the water but he instantly caught my hand and brought me back to the surface.

"How to swim? I figured that out by myself" he uttered in amusement as a grin formed on the corner of his lips as he wrapped my hand around his neck and told me to hold him from behind while we were moving toward the place where Aryan, Leah, Dior and Charlie were playing with a beachball.

"No, Aryan! You should have given the ball to me!" Leah said with a slight groan, I realized that they were playing some kind of volleyball but in the water and as it seemed Charlie and Dior were winning because of their proud faces.

"I got a better idea" Charlie suddenly spoke noticing me joining them. "No that Jane is here, we can fairly play three against three" my eyes widen with fear as I bit my inside lips nervously, I would embarrass myself so stupidly if we were going to play and I needed to managed to swim alone.

"Or we could play two but be three teams" Walker proposed as the others nodded in agreement, Charlie and Dior made a team, Leah and Aryan another while me and Walker the last. All the three of us girls were climbed up on the boys shoulders, the game was going to be played mostly by us because we would hit the ball while the boys had to swim for us to catch the ball like in synchron.

"Thank you" I whispered to Walker after firstly hitting the ball, I knew why he suggested this kind of game which turned out to be very funny.

"No need, jeans" Walker answered with his eyes glued to wherever the ball was flying to. I started to focus on playing aswell since it really caught all my attention and nerves because I felt like wishing to win so badly, and I didn't noticed another ball coming right at me, only when it hit my head my attention distracted. I looked around the crowd of people when I spotted the last two humans on this earth I had the anger to deal with or see, Amanda and Mike were laughing with her two minions and some boys from the school lacrosse team, to my relief neither of them saw me, but I was too caught in staring towards them because my childhood crush started crushing again, I knew deep down that I must do something to forget him and her since both of them were already enjoying their lives much better without me.

"Jane?" I shook my head hearing Walker call me and feeling a little caress on my legs.
"Sorry. Got distracted" I chuckled looking down at him, we were in the middle of the game and I was ruining every chance of winning.

"By what?" he asked peeking up at me with a smug face making me laugh slightly as I ruffled his hair softly. "Nothing..." I lied returning my whole attention to our game.

But Walker noticed what I was looking at or better who, and the question didn't leave his mind for a huge period of time because he was dying to know who were those people I had been so captivated by, but he decided to not ask anymore in order to not interrupt the game for foolish reasons.
