SAUL STARED AT HIS DAUGHTER, his face was emotionless. The girl fiddled with her fingers as she waited for her father to respond to what she was just said. It seemed ages since he spoke and the silence was bothering her.
"Your mother nor Rosalind are alive." Saul finally speaks.
"My dream says otherwise." Calia retorts, still playing with the ends of her selves. "She-They told me to go find them, you're telling me that was just some fake crazy vision?!"
"That's exactly what I'm saying!" Saul exclaims. Calia could feel the lies radiating off of him. "They aren't alive, meaning they can't get to you or into your head."
"I can feel you lying!" Calia stands. "Why are you lying to me? Out of all people! I just want to know if they are because Bloom had a similar vision with Rosalind. I don't think that's a coincidence."
"It doesn't matter what it is." Saul points to her. "Forget about whatever you saw. They are dead and there's nothing to look into. Leave it alone."
Calia looks at her father in disbelief. "But, Dad. There's something going—."
"Leave it alone, Calia." Saul cuts her off. "I won't tell you again."
Calia just stared at him, before she grabs her bag and storms out of his room. She couldn't believe that he was lying straight in her face. Him lying to her only made her want to know more. She felt bad, but she was going to go against his wishes in leaving it alone.

"You got this, Stel." Calia takes the blonde's hand in hers. "It's half a day. You can do this."
"Half a day of everyone adoring her like she's literally the sun." Stella says with a fake smile on her face.
"I mean, she is the Queen of light." Calia says with a small shrug. "Though I think you outshine her, any day.
"Thank you." Stella chuckles softly. "This whole Burned one assembly she's doing, I know she's really just here to check on my progress."
"And I will be right here, through everything." Calia squeezes her hand. She knew about what happened with Ricki. Her mother covered it with the fact that she was jealous and tried to kill her father than saying that she lost actual control. "We can handle her and all this together."
"I love you, Cal." Stella looks at her fondly. "Thank you for doing this for me."
"I love you, too, Stel." Calia smiles at her. "And you don't have to thank me for this. If Sky and Riven weren't my soulmates, I'm more than sure we would be soulmates."
Stella let's out a laugh, pulling the girl into a hug. The two break away as multiple cars stop in front of them. Stella's smile drops slightly and together, they watch as the driver opens the door for them Queen. The Queen steps out, gracefully.
"Oh, Stella." The Queen looks at her daughter with a small smile. She walks over and gives her daughter a kiss on the cheek. "You look stunning."
"Hi, Mum." Stella gives a chuckle.
The Queen looks to the girl next to her daughter, she smiles, her eyes wide. "Calia, darling. It's wonderful to see you. You look beautiful."
"It's nice to see you again, Queen." Calia says with a small nod and smile. They allow the Queen to walk first, they follow. Calia looks to Stella shaking her head and whispers. "No, it's not."
Stella let's out a laugh as they walk back into the school. From the corner of her eye, she sees her father. She gives him a glance before looking forward, allowing Stella to drag her to their seats.
They sit right in front of the stage, two bodyguards on either side of them, making Sky and Riven look at them with a glare. Calia shakes her head amusingly before pointing to the empty seats behind her, both of them were empty. As they sat down, the gave the girl a kiss on the cheek, making her smile.
"I, uh, always had a love-hate relationship with assemblies when I was at Alfea." The Queen speaks making everyone simmer down. "Loved getting out of class. Hated being lectured. But I'm not here to lecture. I'm here to treat you like the adults you are..."
"I'm already getting sleepy." She heard Riven whine from behind she chuckles lowly, reaching her hand back, he gladly takes it into his, she does the same with Sky, not wanting to hear him complain.
"We are here to talk about the Burned ones." The Queen continues. "It's only natural that some of you aren't very interested in what happens to our realm. It had been years since the last one was sighted. Most of you have heard from your parents about what it was like before people of the Otherworld..."
Calia let out a small gasp as a sudden wave of anxiousness and alertness hit her. Stella looked to her, the boys sit up in their seats. Calia ignores them and looks to Musa who was already looking at her.
"Bloom is missing." She mouths.
Calia groans and looks to the boys and Stella. She whispers. "Bloom is missing."
"She's probably fine." Stella calms them. "She probably didn't want to come like the rest of us and she actually skipped."
"My father, Dowling and Harvey are all on edge." Calia looks at them. "Something is going on."
"We'll deal with it, when the Queen is done." Sky rubs the back of her hand. "We can't go questioning them in the middle of the assembly."
Calia nods as she listens to the Queen again. "Conflict is on the horizon. We are tracking at least five Burned ones throughout Solaria. The threat is serious...and growing. It's time for all of you to pay attention."
"She's a little late to the game." Calia mumbles.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Calia stood to the side, watching as Stella looks down at her hands, light appearing in a ball. Dowling paces back and forth behind the girl as she speaks. "Remember your intent. You control the light. It does not control you."
Stella nods and with an encouraging smile from Calia, she takes a breath before forming a beautiful rainbow in her her hands. Calia cheers for her.
Dowling gives her an impressed look. "Beautifully done."
The Queen stays quite before speaking. "Please tell me that was a joke. You instructed her to make a rainbow to display her power?"
Calia goes to speak, but Dowling shakes her head and moves her towards a sadden Stella. "We discussed this at the end of the last term. Rehabilitating magic is a process."
"I didn't send my daughter back to Alfea for a process." The Queen walks forward. "I sent her back because you promised to fix her, after the incident with Ricki."
"An incident occurred because her previous training focused solely on results." Dowling remarks. "When she's ready, we'll move on to stronger magic. It will take time."
"Would you like me to recite the list of threats we're facing. While you take time."
"Mum—."
"Do not speak when I'm speaking." The Queen states. Calia felt her eyes glow before going back to normal. "Solaria is the strongest realm in the Otherworld. She is it's heir. An extension of the strength."
"But what she's doing is working. My power has increased so much—."
"Do not speak when I am speaking." The Queen shouts.
"She helped kill a Burned one." Calia pipes up.
"And did it with precision and Skill, I might add." Dowling adds.
The Queen scoffs. "And you think that is power?"
All of a sudden, Stella begins to shake, tears streaming down her face as she whimpers. "Please, stop." But she doesn't. Stella's breathing becomes irregular, shaking more.
"She said stop it! Right now!" Calia snaps, she gets into the Queen's head, the Queen groans and stops. Stella let's out a relieving breath. Calia pushes Stella behind her.
The Queen tries to look at her daughter, but Calia blocks her view. The Queen looks at her with a hard look. "When you control light, you control what people see. And despite what anyone says matters in this world, appearance is everything. You know that better than anyone, Farah. Especially given my efforts to help you maintain them."
"Yes, we've both done a great deal to persevere Solaria's reputation." Dowling looks straight into the Queen's eyes. "Stella, you did excellent work. You're dismissed. The both of you."
Stella grabs Calia's hand and pulls the girl to walk, but Calia stops in her tracks and looks to the Queen. "You know, you're daughter is one of the brightest students in this school and for you to beat her down over the progress she made, is ridiculous. You are a poor excuse of a mother and more importantly a Queen because a Queen nor a mother should beat their child down for such a thing. She's trying and she is doing wonderfully, maybe if you acted like a parent you would know, how amazing, lovable and talented your daughter is."
With that, Calia walks out the room, Stella following, their hands intertwined. They ignored Aisha's eyes as they walked out of the room.
"Thank you for sticking up for me." Stella mumbles as they walk.
"I'm here for you always."
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Bloom?!" Calia calls out as she walks into some secret room in the west wing. The girl has called her, telling her to meet her there and that it was important. She simply agreed, making sure Stella was okay before she left. Calia walks down the stairs, voice were now heard. "Bloom? You there?"
"I'm here!" She hears the fire fairy call back. Calia walks into the section she was in and her eyes widen just a bit when she notices she was in some type of war room.
"What kinda place are we in?" Calia raises her eyebrows as she looks around, her eyes catch sight of a certain fairy. "And why the hell is she here?"
"It's not she. It's Beatrix." Beatrix states.
"How about the girl who wouldn't leave my soulmate alone even after he said he didn't want you?" Calia gives her a sarcastic smile. "You like that one better?"
"She is fine." Beatrix mumbles.
"Calia, look." Bloom waves her over to the table she was sitting at. "You wanted to find out information about Rosalind and your mom. This is it. Now listen, Rosalind was barely at the school in 2004, your mother too."
"She was leading the crusade against the Burned ones." Beatrix answers. "You're mother was helping her, I think...What was your mothers name?"
Calia eyes her. She debated if she should tell her because she deep down she felt that she shouldn't, but she wanted answers that weren't lies and for some reason she knew Beatrix would give it to her. "Felicity Zircon."
"She was Rosalind's right hand, man." Beatrix informs her. "Whatever Rosalind wanted to do, she agreed and did it with her."
"A puppet is what she was." Calia mumbles and looks back to Bloom.
"We just have to find out where she-they was in December 'cause that's when I was born." Bloom looks over the book.
"I was born 03, in December. Check around that time also." Calia pulls a chair toward Bloom, taking a seat next to her.
"You guys were born December 2003 and 2004?" Beatrix stands walking over to them.
"Yeah. That's what's on my birth certificate." Calia doesn't even glance at her, her eyes on the book. She silently scolded herself for leaving the book about her mother in her room.
Calia snaps out of her daydream when her phone starts to ping. She raises her eyebrows and sees that she has multiple texts from her soulmates and roommates asking her where she was and if she was okay.
Calia goes to answer, but Bloom get a her attention again. "I think this is her schedule from '03 and '04. Your mothers also."
Calia's phone keeps chimes as she looks over the schedules in front of her. Beatrix, in front of them groans. "That's very annoying. Tell your soulmates to leave you alone."
"Shut up." Calia rolls her eyes, she turns off her phone and stuffs it into her back pocket.
"It looks like your mother and Rosalind were in a place called Aster Dell." Bloom reads. "Maybe my parents are from this Aster Dell place."
"Aster Dell." Calia repeats. She's heard of that place. She just can't pinpoint where exactly she heard it from. "I know where that's at. I just have to look for it on the map and—."
She goes to stand, but Beatrix grabs her wrist. "I know where it's at. You guys wanna go?"
"Isn't it a few hours from here?" Calia asks. "My father and soulmates will be—."
"Live a little, Calia." Beatrix starts to walk. "Your guard dogs will be fine."
"Come on, Calia." Bloom pouts. "Please, what's the worse that can happen?"
"We die." Calia says back. Bloom gives her a pleading look. "I'm only agreeing so I can make sure you don't get hurt. Beatrix is no good, but we need answers."
"Thank you!" Bloom smiles and pulls Calia into a hug, the Silva girl only pats her back in return.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Stealing a car." Calia hums as she gets into the passenger's side, Bloom going into the seat behind her. "And you become worse."
"How do you know how to steal a car?" Bloom asks as Beatrix gets into the car.
"I know how to do a lot of things." Beatrix smirks as she buckles in and takes off.
"I'm sure you do." Calia gives her a fake smile before looking out her window, watching the trees pass.
The car ride was silent up until they finally got to the place. It was in the middle of nowhere and the place gave and uneasy feeling to Calia. Something felt off and she hated that she couldn't tell what it was.
The three fairies walk out of the car and towards a cliff and if Calia didn't know better, she would think Beatrix was trying to kill them. The look out, there was no sign of anything or anyone.
"Aster Dell was a town, right? Are you sure this is the right place?" Bloom questions as they walk closer to the edge.
"I'm positive." Beatrix replies.
"How could a town be marked on a map if it's on the side of a mountain?" Bloom questions further.
Calia looks down at her feet and sees skulls on the floor. Her eyes widen and she looks to Beatrix, who is firing up her magic. "What the hell is going on?!"
"You aren't the only powerful fairy at Alfea." Beatrix sends a ball of electricity towards Bloom, making Calia push her out the way and she ducks. The sound of a barrier whooshing away gets their attention.
The two fairies on the floor look up and see a town, if that's what you would call it. Everything is burned down and destroyed. Calia felt a pain in her arms, she looks down and sees the black veins from weeks prior. She groans and holds her arms.
"Welcome to Aster Dell." Beatrix glances at Calia who gets up, ignoring the pain she felt.
"It feels familiar." Calia mumbles as she walks next to Bloom.
"It was a beautiful place." Beatrix starts. "Full of people just trying to live their lives. Till one winter when Burned one's surrounded the settlement, and a military unit from Alfea decided that destroying the creatures was more important than the lives of the people here."
"This isn't real." Bloom shakes her head, Calia could feel that there was something off about the story. "You're making this happen somehow."
"I'm piercing the magic veil that Queen Luna placed to hide the atrocities that happened here." Beatrix continues, Calia tilts her head slightly. "Think about that. Leader of our realm tried to erase a war crime. I was born here, and my family died here. Two days before your First World birthday."
"So, you think that..." Bloom looks from
Beatrix to Aster Dell. "My family was killed here? And Calia's mom too?"
"Not think. Know." Beatrix looks ahead. "'Cause everyone here died. Except me and you, Bloom."
"How could you know all this?" Calia asks with a tilt of her head.
"I saw it." Beatrix admits. "I saw the bodies, the death. Then someone scooped me up...carried me away. As we ran, I saw them, walking through the carnage like conquering heroes."
"And who was it you saw?" Calia questions.
"Dowling, Silva, Harvey." Beatrix lists off. Calia gives her a look as she shakes her head in denial.
"You were a baby. How would know if that was real?" Bloom starts, tears filling her eyes. "How would you..."
"'Cause the woman who saved me used her magic to burn the memory into my mind." Beatrix snaps. "Sound familiar?"
"Rosalind?" Bloom and Calia say in unison.
Calia didn't believe the words out of Beatrix's mouth, not fully. Something was off and wrong and something in her gut told her not to believe Beatrix's words.
"She rescued you?"
"She rescued us." Beatrix corrects. "She had a crisis of conscience, couldn't bring herself to innocent murder people, your mother either, Calia, no matter how many Burned ones they could kill in the process. But Dowling, Silva and Harvey didn't agree. They staged a coup and carried out the mission."
"No, my father would never." Calia shakes her head. She points at Beatrix. "You're lying. There's more to what you're saying. Maybe Rosalind got into your head and put that information there. She obviously burned it into your head also. You are talking out your ass. Now stop and let's go."
"But—."
"Now, Beatrix!" Calia exclaims, her eyes glowing, she could feel the stress her boys felt and she knew that something was wrong. "I'm driving."
Bloom stood there in shock as Beatrix gave the Silva girl the key. Calia walked off and into the car, the two other fairies following.
"After you asked about Rosalind at the party..." Beatrix begins, an hour into their car ride back. "I wasn't sure what to make of you. Then I found out you're a changeling and that Calia want to know also, so I did some math and start to put two and two together. But I wasn't sure until today."
"Does this mean that you're one too?" Bloom asks, from the backseat. "A changeling?"
"Rosalind left me in the care of close friends. While she stashed you in the First World and left Calia with her father." Beatrix glances at the driving girl. Calia only rolls her eyes.
"Because my birth parents, my real parents, were..." Bloom trails off. "They're dead."
"It's a lot." Beatrix moves her gaze to the red head. "I carried that memorial for years before I was to fully understood what it meant."
"Why would Dowling bring me to the Otherworld if she killed my family? And why would Calia still be with Silva?" Bloom asks.
"Not sure if they've put the pieces together yet, and if I were you, I'd keep it that way." Beatrix states.
"Which is exactly something you'd say if you were making this up." Calia glances at her before looking back onto the road. "To keep Bloom and I from comparing notes."
"Why would I make up a story about our teachers being murderers?" Beatrix questions. "Especially your father. Where's the gain in that?"
"I don't know, where is the gain in it?" Calia retorts. "You could be trying to breaking the relationship between me and father because you never had one or because you're speaking for someone else. It could be for someone else's gain. I'm not dumb, Beatrix."
"Look." Beatrix sighs and looks between the girls. "Rosalind is alive...your mother too."
"What?" Calia looks at her with wide eyes, this time she could tell there was no lies coming out of her mouth, but she didn't want to believe it. "No. They're both dead."
"Did your father not tell you that?" Beatrix pouts before returning serious again. "Dowling imprisoned them. I'm at Alfea to break them out."
Calia goes to speak, but out of nowhere something hits the truck from underneath, causing the car to make a sharp turn, the tires screeching loudly, as the almost run into a tree. Calia's arm hitting the side of the car roughly.
"Fuck." Calia holds her arm as she gets out of the car. She groans as she turns, she catching sight of Beatrix who tries to run, but Dowling shows up, quickly catching her and placing her in bracelets that Calia knew would put her magic to a stop.
"No, stop it! Stop!" Bloom runs after them, as Dowling places Beatrix in another car.
"Bloom, don't be dumb!" Calia shouts holding her hurting arm. "It's over."
Bloom ignores her and tries to run towards the two, Saul who Calia just noticed was there grabs Bloom, pulling her back. Dowling looks to them. "Take your daughter and Bloom. We'll handle this."
Calia let's out a breath as her father walks towards her. She was really dreading talking to him. He looks at her and then to the arm she was clutching on. "Calia, are you okay? Did she do anything?"
"I'm fine. Can we go?" Calia doesn't even glance at him. "I-I can heal it on the way."
Saul only eyes her before wrapping an arm around her and bringing her into his side. He kisses his forehead. "I was so worried about you. She's the one that killed, Dowling's assistant."
"Figures." Calia mumbles and just leans into her father's side, shutting her eyes as she healed her arm.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
It was night when they got back to Alfea. When Calia got out the car, Saul kept her into his side until she caught site of her roommates who pulled her into her embrace.
"We were so worried." Aisha gives her a smile.
"Legit freaking out." Musa holds on to the girl for a little longer.
"It's not me you should be worried about." Calia hugs Musa and Terra once more before watching them go towards Bloom.
Calia walks away watching them drag Beatrix out the spare car. She turns to walk, but she's suddenly engulfed in a hug. She felt her body relax and melt into the touch. She knew exactly who it was and she only held on tighter to them.
"We're so happy you're back." Sky whispers into her ear.
"We were worried sick." Riven kisses the side of her head as they pull away.
"Are you okay? They both ask, looking the girl over.
"Yeah, I can really use sleep with my two favorite people." Calia gives them a sleepy smile, before pecking both of their lips before moving back down. "I just want to let Stella know about everything and—."
She stops talking when she sees the two boys share a look. "What? What happened? Is Stella okay?"
"She's fine." Sky tries to calm her.
"Let's take you to our room, clean up and—."
"Riven, no." Calia shakes her head. "What happened to Stella? Let me know, please."
Riven sighs, Sky giving him a nod. "Queen Luna took her. She went back to home."
"What?" Calia looks at them in disbelief. "No. You're lying."
"She told us to tell you that she'd miss you and that you were the best thing to happen to her." Sky pushes a piece of hair behind her ear.
"I shouldn't have left!" Calia lets out a small cry, Riven very quickly, taking the girl in his arms and lifting her up. Calia wraps her legs around him as she cries into his neck. Sky walks to them, embracing them both, whispering sweet nothings to the girl.
Calia knew her crying was so much than Stella leaving, but that was just her last draw. There were so many thoughts in her head. From her dad, to her now alive mother, the lies she's been told, and then Stella. Everything was going wrong, just when she thought she had everything in her grasp.
