♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
A YOUNG SAUL SILVA, looks at his girlfriend who was sitting only a couple of feet away from him. He was standing, pacing back and forth, his hands running over his face. The words of his girlfriend still processing in his head.
"Say...Say something." The dark haired girl, spoke as she looked up at him with her watery hazel eyes.
"How far along?" Saul finally speaks, breaking his silence.
"About a month." The woman replies. "I didn't get a picture of a scan, Rosalind told me not to get attached to the baby."
"What?" Saul stops his pacing to look at his soulmate. "Why not? Why would she say that?"
"She said that I won't keep it after its born." The fairy places a hand on her stomach. "That their magic will be too much for us to handle and it will be sent away."
Saul shakes his head, walking towards her. "We are not sending our unborn child away. You are one of the strongest fairies out there! We can protect them and help them grow and use their magic! Sending them away is not an option! I won't do it!"
"But Rosalind said—."
"Rosalie is getting to your head! Don't you understand that?" Saul exclaims. "Felicity, she wants to turn you into some sort of power machine she can use and she's going to do the same with our child! She's using you, she doesn't care!"
"Don't say that!" Felicity stands up abruptly. "She cares about me! And if this baby is going to be a problem than I don't want it after I give birth!"
Saul stares at the woman before him in disbelief. "Who are you? Because you aren't the woman I fell in love with."
"Don't say that." Felicity says lowly.
"When you give birth, I'll take the baby." Saul states, Felicity goes to speak, but he stops her. "End of discussion, I will not give my child up. Rosalind doesn't get a say in what I do with my child."
Find me, Calia. You and Bloom. Find us. We can help you with control. Zircon...I'm here.
"Calia!" Sky shouts shakes her.
"Calia, come on!" Riven does the same. Their room door opens and in coming is Bloom, Aisha and the rest of the girls.
"The same thing happened to Bloom." Aisha mumbles, loud enough for the boys to hear.
The boys looks at them, but their attention is brought back to Calia when she lets out a loud gasp. Her breathing is fast and shaky. She looks around, her eyes connecting with Rivne's than Sky's. She opens her mouth to speak. "I-I."
"Shh, it's okay." Sky tells her softly. She collapses into his hold.
"We can talk about to tomorrow." Riven rubs his hand up and down her arm comfortingly.
"Let's go." Stella tells the girls.
"Bloom—." Calia calls to her.
"We'll talk in the morning." Bloom gives her a nod. "I promise."
With that the girls leave the room, closing the door. Calia looks between the two boys, tears streaming down her face. "I'm scared."
"We got you, princess." The boys say in unison, both now holding her close. "Everything is going to me okay."
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Can we not do this again?" Aisha sighs as both Bloom and Calia stop to look at multiple pictures on the wall of the former students that use to go Alfea.
"I know." Bloom lets her eyes roam over the picture. "I know."
"I-I just want to see if I can find out anything about, the woman who brought Bloom into the human world and wanted my mother to give me up." Calia says, her fingers hovering over a frame, none of the faces sticking out to her. She knew some of Rosalind's feature because of Bloom.
"It's hard to see what someone's gonna look like when they're old, but..." Bloom bends down and points at a woman. "See, if I squint my eyes and tilt my head, this Farrah Fawcett one is a dead ringer."
"There are a lot of fairies in the Otherworld, guys." Aisha tells them, Calia drowns at her words as she looks the pictures over. She found it weird how she couldn't find any photos of not only Rosalind, but of her mother. It was like she didn't exist in the Otherworld.
All her life, Calia thought she looked like her father, that they were twins, but seeing her mother in that vision she had...she definitely was her mother's daughter. They had the exact same features, the only difference was the nose. Calia definitely had her father's nose and she was now going to take pride in it because the last thing she wanted to do was look like the woman who wanted to
abandon her.
"Just don't get your hopes up, okay?" Aisha looks between Bloom and Calia. The two girls only nod. "Good, now we have classes. Calia, you can finally see your father."
Calia hasn't seen her father in almost a week. She wasn't allowed too, it was her father's wishes, but now he was bad and she was getting more and more eager to see him.
Calia rushed out to the specialist training area. She wasted no time in searching for her father. She found him by the fighting stage, where both Sky and Riven were fighting. She dropped her bags next to the boys things before she took off in the direction of her father.
"Dad!" Calia runs towards him, she slows down, not wanting to attack him since she didn't know of his condition.
Saul turns and looks to his daughter, a smile forms on his face. He opens his arms and Calia walks right into them, wrapping her arms around the higher part of his body. She at least knew where the wound was and she was going to be careful.
"I missed you so much." Calia mutters against his chest.
"I missed you more." Saul places a kiss to the top of his daughters head.
Calia pulled away and looked her father over, he seemed, better, but she could tell he was still struggling. She could feel it. She could feel his hurt and feel the uneasiness he felt. How uncomfortable he was.
She could also feel the sorrow and guilt he felt. She wasn't going to tell him what she found out, not when he was in a states like this.
"Hey." Saul flicks her forehead, she lets out a small laugh. "Stop reading me."
"I can't help it." Calia looks up at him, his eyes now grey. "I was worried, Dad. I am worried."
"I'm fine, my sweet girl." Saul rubs the back of her head gently. "No need to worry."
"Did you really just say that?" Calia tilts her head at him. "You're still hurting, meaning they haven't killed the burned one. You-You can still—."
"I'm going to be fine." Saul assures his daughter. "I promise you, they will kill it and I will not be going anywhere, you hear me?"
Calia looks at him unconvinced, but nonetheless nods. Saul gives her a smile. "Now, wanna help me scold the kids today?"
"Of course, I would love nothing more." Calia grins and she links her arms with her fathers as they walk, Calia taking her time.
The Silva father and daughter duo, turn to Sky and Riven who were still sparing. They see Sky's footwork slip. They share a look before speaking. "Sky, watch the footwork."
Calia helps her father walk up the small stairs to the mat, the two boys were fighting on. They watch carefully as they continue to attack each other, their weapons clashing each time. It goes on like that for a while until Riven manages to get his leg behind Sky and sweep him off of his feet.
Sky falls to the mat with a groan. Calia shared an impressed look with her father. She motions her head towards Riven, Saul sighs. "Nicely done, Riven."
"He actually means you did amazing." Calia let's her father go and walks towards Riven, she places a kiss on his cheek before she helps Sky up. "You're in your head too much, blue. What's wrong?"
"Doesn't he seem worse?" Sky points to Saul who was walking away from them.
"I wouldn't know." Calia rolls her eyes. "I couldn't see him remember."
"Is it because I got a compliment?" Riven wraps an arm around Calia's shoulders. "And now because of it Silva had brain damage?"
Sky turns his gaze back to Riven and lets out a chuckle. Calia shakes her head in amusement. She takes Sky's hand in hers, Riven's arm still wrapped around her as they walk off the mat.
"It's been a week since he got infected by the Burned one." Sky states.
"He's fine, Sky." Calia squeezes his hand, though she didn't believe the words that came out of her mouth.
"I'm just overreacting." Sky rubs his thumb over the back of her hand.
"It's okay to overreact, just don't let it drain you, Sky." Calia takes a sit on the bench, the boys following.
"Calia!" She hears her name being called, she looks up and sees Stella walking towards her.
"She better not steal you away." Riven takes a sip of water from his bottle. "We haven't seen you in almost a week."
"Aww, did you miss me, Riv?" Calia pinches his cheek. Riven playfully slaps her hand away.
"He was talking nonstop about how much he wanted to see you. Like he was full on whining." Sky says with a small smirk on his lips. "It got worse when that first year, Beatrix, wouldn't leave him alone."
"Let's talk about how you almost cried thinking about, Lia and how bad you wanted to see her." Riven says back. "Did you forget about that?"
"I did not almost cry!" Sky protests.
"Boys." Calia looks between them. "It's okay to miss me that bad, not only am I irreplaceable, but I'm hard not to miss. You're feeling we're 100%, okay."
"But I didn't cry." Sky mumbles.
Calia let's out a laugh at his response, her laugh bringing a smile to boys faces. The smile immediately left their faces, when Stella finally got to them. "Calia, I've been searching for you everywhere."
"You found me." Calia smiles up at her.
"Sadly." Riven and Sky mutter, Calia nudges them. She only gets a innocent smile back.
"What's up, Stel?" Calia asks as the boys place on of their hands on each of her thighs, causing a shiver of delight to run down her spine.
"Are you going to train later, or are we meeting before the party?" Stella questions.
"I don't know..." Calia trails off. "I was going to stay with my dad and make sure he was—."
"He's fine." Stella cuts her off. "As long as he's on Zanbaq, he'll be okay."
"That thing only manages his symptoms." Calia retorts.
"Yeah, he won't get better til they kill the Burned one that attacked him." Sky adds.
"And there are people out there looking for it." Stella informs them. "It's not gonna get away from every fairy and specialist in the Otherworld. Look, just let me know, okay? I have to get going. Please, think about it and stop worrying. The both of you."
Stella blows the girl a kiss before she walks away. Calia sighs and leans her head against Sky's shoulder. "I don't know what to do."
"Me either." Sky mumbles, giving a small kiss to Calia temple before she sits up, allowing him to get up. "I'll see you, guys, okay?"
They wave him off as he collects his things and starts walking off. Calia sighs and looks to Riven before going to play with her fingers. Riven places his fingers under her chin, and makes her look to him. "You know, I'm here to talk, right? You're the only person besides Sky I will actually listen too."
"I don't want you burden you, Riv." Calia stares into his eyes. "I've laid my problems on you enough."
"You will never me a burden to me, Lia." Riven's eyes go to her eyes than to her lips. "Never. I want to know and hear about everything."
"Pick me up after class?" Calia suggests. "I'll tell you about everything."
"How about on the way, also?" Riven moves back and stands up, Calia follows. She grabs her bag from the floor, Riven doing the same before they link arms and walk off to her next class.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"I couldn't do one simple task, Riv." Calia runs a hand through her hair as she walks out out of class. "She literally only asked me to light one single stick on fire and I couldn't. I literally almost burned down the class room."
Riven wraps an arm around the girl's shoulders, bringing her into his side. "It's because you have so much on you mind, darlin'. You need to relax your mind and stop overthinking."
"But it's what I do best, Riv." Calia leans into his side.
"No, what you do best is saving others." Sky joins them, going on Calia's other side. "You need to stop saving others and trying to drown yourself in other peoples problems. Let someone save you from drowning, Calia. Haven't you had enough of saving others?"
Calia looks at him in thought. It was true. All her life she's been drowning in her own hurt and as a way to cope she's been solving and helping others with their problems. It became a habit, one that allowed her to suffer.
"You know, you're the only one to actually see me." Riven speaks softly. "Allow me-us to see you. To help you."
She had to tell them. Calia looks between them. "You're are the only two I ever allowed to be so emotionally close to me. I want you guys to see me. To save me. This is me calling out for help from you, both."
Sky and Riven both share a smile with the girl. Calia smiles back. She was going to let them in fully, and she was going to tell them the truth. She was actually going to listen to Stella for a change, but not yet.
"Now, let's go to lunch, I'm starving." Riven groan. Calia and Sky laugh as Riven drags Calia off, Sky is quick to take ahold of the Silva girls hand.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Calia walks into the green house, Sky behind her. Riven had a class, so he couldn't join the two, but it was good because this was something Sky and Calia had to do on their own.
During lunch, Calia filled them in on everything, from the Burned one, to her magic, to Rosalind and then her vision. She didn't tell them about the soulmate's, which she's surprised they didn't ask about, but today she was going to tell them...with time.
They promised to help her find what ever information she could on her mother and Rosalind. They promised that they would stay by her side and help her and that was all Calia needed.
When they walked into the greenhouse, they saw Saul there on a small bench, putting his shirt back on. Calia could feel how weak her father was getting. She's the first to speak. "How bad is it?"
Saul breathes shakily, his breathing becomes irregular and he doesn't answer. Sky speaks next. "Is Professor Harvey gonna up your Zanbaq dose?"
No response.
"Answer!" Calia exclaims, worriedly. "He said it'd keep the wounds at bay until—."
"Until it can't anymore." Saul finishes for her as he slowly stands with a groan.
"Sky and I can run the first year spars." Calia walks toward her father. "While you take it easy until the battalion gets to the Burned one. Do-Do you know the status?"
Saul sighs taking a seat again. "Uh...they've tracked it 40 kilometers north of here. They'll engage it soon."
"And when they do, are they gonna—." Sky starts.
"I have every confidence they will complete the mission." Saul breathes heavily. "They will kill it. They only question is when."
"What do you mean?" Sky asks the question, Calia was dreading an answer too.
"The, uh..." Saul trails off for a moment. "The infection is spreading quickly now. When it reaches my heart..."
"No." Calia felt tears form in her eyes as she stared at her father. She sits down in front of him. "How-How long do you have, Dad?"
"Calia—."
"How long, Dad?!" Calia raises her voice. Sky walks behind her placing a hand on her back. "Please...tell me."
"I-I don't know." Saul shakes his head looking down, not bearing to see the heartbreak in his daughters eyes. "I don't know. Not long."
"So, what do we do?!" Sky this time speaks, Calia silently cries into her hand.
"Well, I've..." Saul looks at his daughter and then Sky. "Spoke to my seconds about the plans for your training, and Dowling is aware of my wishes for Calia and her future. Both of yours."
"He-He asked you a question, Dad." Calia opens her eyes, to look at him again.
"And I'm answering it, sweetheart." Saul exhales sharply. "Soldiers have to have these conversations with the people that matter. We make a plan. That's what we can do."
"Stop with the tough soldier bullshit!" Calia stands. "I am you're daughter! And-And you helped raise Sky! Dad, I-I can't lose you. I already lost one parent. I can't lose another."
"Cal, listen to me." Saul stands and places a hand on her cheek. "I-I promise to keep you updated on the battalion's progress. I promised you earlier that you wouldn't lose me and I'm still keeping that promise. Do you understand?"
"Don't you understand?!" Calia let's the tears slip from her face, she holds her father's hand that was on her cheek. "You-You can't promise that...You can't."
Calia places a kiss on her fathers cheek before she intertwines her fingers with Sky's. Sky looks at Saul who mouths something to him. 'protect her.' Sky only nods, looking to him with a sad look as Calia drags him out the greenhouse.
