CALIA SAT AT SKY'S DESK, staring blankly at herself in the small mirror that was in front of her and Stella. Stella was doing her makeup, which meant she was in fact going to the party.
"Beautiful." Riven calls to her. "Are you sure you want to go? Because we can stay, watch a movie and eat our hearts away."
Calia musters up a smile. "I have to go. I need to go out and with you three with me, I'll be okay."
"And I already did her makeup, so I wouldn't have taken a no." Stella touches up her own face. "There done."
"Thank you, Stells." Calia stands, letting her hair go from its clip. She does a twirl and looks to Riven. "How do I look?"
"Baby blue is definitely your color." Rivne's eyes roam over her. "You look gorgeous."
"Stunning, is more like it." Sky walks out the bathroom, with a pair of black slacks and a white shirt. He goes over to his bed to put his shoes on.
"Well, grey and black make you guys look overly handsome." Calia grins at them, taking a seat on Riven's bed.
"You guys make me wanna puke." Stella says from her seat at Sky's desk.
"Then leave." Riven gives her a fake smile as he takes a swing of alcohol from his flask. Stella flips him off in response.
"Drinking, already?" Sky raises an eyebrow at Riven.
"Yeah, well." Riven sits back in his chair. He motions to Stella. "She's been here for an hour, so I've been drinking for an hour."
"Be nice." Calia scolds as she takes the flask from him, taking a sip before giving it back to him. Riven smirking at her widely.
"Could you both take it easy this year?" Sky questions. "Last year, you Riv, vomited in no less than five places and you, Cal, passed out twice in one night."
"Well, the benchmark's been set." Riven chuckles.
"Well, at least pour us one." Stella starts to put her makeup away.
"I'm not drinking." Sky quickly says. They all share a look. Stella goes to speak, but Calia shakes her head.
Calia sighs. "We're still going to have fun. That's what tonight is all about. Deal?"
"Deal." The other three say simultaneously.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Calia was currently dancing in the crowd with Stella. The two girls moving to the music, the boy went off somewhere, promising that they'd be back. Calia didn't mind though, she was having fun like she said she was going to do.
That was until, she felt a pair of eyes on her. She momentarily stopped dancing and looked towards the direction where she felt the eyes on her. Her eyes come in contact with Dane, the first year that insta stalked her. She gave him a look, but he didn't look away. If anything, his look for more intense. She felt the lust coming from him. She not longer felt comfortable dancing anymore.
"Stells." Calia taps the girl, stopping her from dancing. "I'm going to go find the boys. I-I don't feel comfortable dancing anymore."
"Why?" Stella looks the girl over. "What's wrong?"
"Dane, that first year I told you about keeps staring at me." Calia points towards the corner he was at.
Stella's eyes widen, when she sees him making his way towards them. "And now he's coming this way, let's go."
Calia grabs her arm and the two start walking towards the crowd. Calia kept pushing through the crowd, getting elbowed here and there, but she comes to a stop when she runs into a hard chest. She looks up and sees Sky, Riven not too far behind.
"Thank goodness." Cali let out a breath.
"What's wrong? What happened?" Sky places his hands on her shoulders.
"That first year, Dane wouldn't stop looking at me." Calia starts, letting go of Stella's hand.
"And then he started walking towards her when she noticed him." Stella continues.
"We started searching for you guys." Calia says and she could see the hard looks on their faces.
"I'm gonna go talk to him." Riven goes to walk, but Calia grabs his hand.
"No, Riv. It's fine." Calia stops him. "Let's just have fun. That's what tonight is all about and seeing me with you two will make him back off, okay?"
Riven runs his jaw before nodding. Sky wraps an arm around the girl's waist, Riven wrapping his arm around her shoulders. Stella rolls her eyes playfully at their protectiveness.
"Let's get out of the crowd." Sky says as they all walk forward, Stella following.
"Can we play beer pong?" Calia looks up at the boys. "We can give you water, Sky."
"No, it's okay. I can use the distraction." Sky says back as they walk in the direction of the beer pong tables.
"I'm on Calia's team!" Stella shouts from behind them. Calia laughs as they groan. They get to the table and the boys start setting the cups up.
"I'm just gonna say it now." Sky begins as they fix the cups up. "You two just made a big mistake."
"We're totally gonna win." Riven says nonchalantly.
"You know what that sounds like to me?" Calia asks as she takes some of the ping pong balls in her hands, giving half to Stella. "All talk. I was the beer pong Queen before I left."
"Meaning we've had time to practice." Riven gestures between himself and Sky.
"You ladies talk too much." Calia groans, she tosses one of the balls and it goes right into the cup in front of Riven.
Stella high fives the girl, happily as Riven drinks the beer in the cup, a small glare on his face as he looks to Calia as he drinks.
He drops the cup, wiping his mouth before he takes a ping pong ball from Sky. He points to Calia. "This is for you."
Riven looks away and despite Sky's protest, he shoot the ball right into one of the middle beer cups. Sky shuts up and laughs as he cheers. Riven smirks watching Calia down the cup of beer. "I told you we've had practice."
The game goes back and forth, the boys and Stella smile at the sight of the Silva girl enjoying herself and finally letting herself laugh and smile. Stella was right, she did in-fact need this.
"Come on, Stells." Calia rubs her hands together. "We need this one."
"I got you, my sweets." Stella says with a nods and goes to toss the ball as Calia focuses on the cup, making the beer nice and hot for Sky to drink. The ball lands right into the cup, Calia made hot. The two girls clap and cheer.
"Drink up, blue." Calia watches as Sky picks up the go, but puts it down when he felt the hot cup. The heat slightly burning his hand.
He squints his eyes and looks up at Calia. "Did you—."
"No." Calia says as she gives him an innocent smile. "Now, drink."
"She made it hot!" Sky exclaims looking to Riven.
"Cheating?" Riven points to Calia. "That's what we're doing?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Calia let out a soft moan as Riven sucked on the right side of her neck, Sky sucking on the left. Their touch intensifying the pleasure she was currently feeling. They were in one of the abandoned wings, where old things were stored away. They were away from everyone.
She never thought that she would be in a position like this. Her two soulmates, kissing on her and feeling her. When she first came to Alfea, she never thought they would ever talk to her again because of the disappearing act she did, but it was the total opposite.
She fingers runs through the hair on the back of their heads, she lets out a groan when they pull back. She breathes heavily, looking between them. "Why'd-Why'd you guys stop?"
"Is this okay?" Sky asks, his breathing a bit uneven.
"What?"
Riven places a kiss on her shoulder. "Is what we're doing okay? Are you comfortable?"
"I'm more than okay and comfortable." Calia takes Sky's chin into her hand and then Riven's with her other hand. She pulls Sky into a kiss, she pulls away and does the same to Riven, Sky's lips going to her neck once more.
When, Sky pulls away from Riven. Calia's skin suddenly starts to shine bright. Her eyes once again going fully white. Sky and Riven panic, but Calia only smiles, earning a look from them.
"What's going on?" Sky questions watching as her body quickly goes back to normal. "Are you okay?"
"I'm-I'm finally excepting the bond." Calia felt her eyes go back to normal.
"What? What bond?" Riven asks, but realization hits him and he looks to Sky. "We're-We're her soulmates. She's excepting us."
Sky's eyes widen and he looks to Calia. "We've been your soulmates all this time."
Calia moves her hands off of them before giving them a small and slow nod. "You have."
"Why didn't you tell us before?" Riven leans against the wall next to her. "Why leave?"
"Because I was scared." Calia admits. "Sky was with Stella and with you-with you, I was scared of getting more attached. I was already attached to Sky and I got hurt, so to protect myself from getting hurt by you, I left. When I get too attached, I back away. That's my way of trying not to get hurt."
"I never—."
"There's more." Calia interrupts Sky. "I was also scared that you guys wouldn't accept me. I was scared that you guys would no longer want to see me. I didn't want to break you guys apart and I didn't want to lose you. I thought that telling you this would destroy you both. I couldn't have that, not at all. You two are the only things keeping me sane in this world. Losing you was scary, but I lost you guys anyway when I left and I regret it...every single fucking day. I should've been truthful from the start and I'm sorry."
The room was silent. Calia looked between them warily. She was scared of their response. She probably could've ruined their relationship, but she didn't regret telling them. She was relieved she did. She took the risk. She faced the problem.
"We would've never left you." Sky starts. "I fell for you before and this soulmate bound isn't going to change a thing. You've been there for me by my side through it all and I get that you were scared, but know that I would've never given up on you. You mean the world to me and losing you is like losing part of myself. I'm more than happy to be one of your soulmates. I'm not going anywhere."
Calia's eyes watered just a bit as she looked to Riven who was silent, his eyes watery. He lets out a breath. "I thought I was the problem. That maybe I was too much for you to like to love even. I thought it was my fault you left and hearing that it wasn't, calms me. You made me believe in love, Lia. You allowed me to-to find myself. Being your soulmate is the best thing to ever happen to me. Me leaving you, is one of the last things you ever have to be scared of. Leaving you is never and will
never be an option for me."
Calia felt her heart warm up, her finger tips glowing. Happiness filled her body. "You guys accepted me."
"Always." They say together. Calia looks away from her hands and to them.
She pulls them into a hug. They immediately hug back. "Thank you, guys. So much."
"You don't have to thank us." Sky whispers.
"So, does this make us official?" Riven questions, his eyebrow raised.
Calia goes to respond, but her phone suddenly buzzes. She pulled away from them and pulls out her phone, it was a text from her father.
Burned one dead.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Dad!" Calia runs towards him, climbing up on the sparing mat he was sitting on. Riven and Sky right behind her. "How are you feeling?"
Saul doesn't answer, he slowly looks up at his daughter and her soulmates. His eyes were still dark, Calia could feel his weak he still felt. "You lied. You-You said they killed it."
"They did." Saul brings his knees to his chest.
"Then why aren't you healed? Why aren't your wounds healing?" Calia turns her head to the side, clenching her jaw. Sky and Riven could feel the sadness and heartbreak coming from her, it hit them strong, but they both reach other to comfort her gently.
"The one they killed mustn't have been the one that attacked me." Saul moves his eyes to the black mat he was sitting on. "Clearly, there are more than one of the creatures out there."
"So, the battalion will keep looking—."
"It's too late, Sky." Saul sighs roughly. "It's over."
"No!" Calia stands. "You told me to wait. I will not wait any longer. I'm not letting you die on me. Not today! I will not be losing another parent. Now you better fight! Fight for me, Dad. That's all I ask."
Calia gets down from the mat, the boys helping her down. She turns to her father. "I'm fucking done waiting. I'm going out there to kill it."
Calia ignores her fathers shouts as she rushes back to the building. Calia grabs the boy's hands. "You guys should stay and—."
"No way!" They exclaim.
"We're coming with you." Riven states. "We aren't letting you go out there alone. We just got you."
"We're in this together." Sky squeezes her hand.
"Let's suit up then."
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
The three soulmates were currently walking towards the Stone Circle. Calia slows down when she sees a figure in the middle of the circle, sadness radiating off of them. They walk closer and Calia notices it was a crying Bloom. "Bloom."
Calia runs forward, slowing down once again when she gets to the girl. "What are you doing out here? Why are you crying?"
"It's true. I'm a changeling." Bloom admits. "And, I can't find nothing on my real parents, but I found Rosalind...in a picture."
"Can I see?" Calia asks, Bloom nods pulling out her phone going to the pictures she took earlier.
"She's standing next to Ms.Dowling and some other lady who looks like you—."
"That's my mother." Calia stares at the phone, the boys move closer to see what she was looking at. "Rosalind is standing with my mother and Dowling. Oh my..."
Calia gives Bloom her phone back, she runs a hand over her face. Bloom looks back to her. "I don't know what to do. I don't know who I am anymore and—."
"It's not that you don't know who you are, Bloom." Calia pipes in. "It's that you don't know who to deal with the changes this life causes. Your parents are still your, yes there are missing pieces, but don't let it define you. Remember who you are. Who you use to be."
"That's-That's what I needed to hear. Thank you." Bloom wipes a tear off her face. "Um, why are you guys wearing armor?"
Calia steps in between Sky and Riben, taking their hands. "My father is dying, they killed the wrong Burned one and now I'm taking matters into my own hands. I won't let him die, I will no longer sit on my ass and do nothing."
The wind around them howls and Calia could feel dark energy consume her as she looks into the woods. Calia...Calia...Bloom...Bloom.
"It's here." Calia says to the two specialists next to her as the Burned one continues to say their names. "I can feel it."
"So can I." Bloom speaks as she walks forward. "We have to tell Dowling right away. We—."
"We can't waste time!"
Calia takes off into the forest, the boys right by her side as they run. Bloom reluctantly follows behind. They all run through the barrier. The pure fairy and the fire fairy leading them towards the Burned one.
Bloom...Calia...The creature whispers their names as they get to a clearing in the forest. They all stop as they look around. Calia could feel that it was in the perimeter. "It's so close."
Sky and Riven both take out their swords, ready to attack. Calia and Bloom back to back as they look around in the forest, Calia clutches her knife in her hand.
"I still want to know why you guys can track these things." Sky speaks as he looks around.
"It's a mystery to us, also." Calia responds, her eyes roaming all around the forest.
Out of nowhere it jumps out at Sky, causing him to fall, pushing Bloom down in the process. Riven fights it off with his sword and Calia is quick to let her magic go.
Vines pop out of the ground, wrapping around its legs, keeping it in place. Calia does the same with its hands. It lets out a scream as Calia gets into its head, she boils whatever liquid the monster was created of.
Calia looks to Bloom now noticing the other girls there. "Fire, Bloom. Now!"
Bloom throws her hands out, her fire immediately hitting the Burned one. It lets out a loud screech before it explodes. It's body parts dropping straight to the floor.
Aisha helps the fire go out and Calia lets out a sigh of relief as she puts her hands down. She stumbles forward, into Sky's arms. Riven rushing towards them. "You okay?"
"Just drained." Calia leans against them as they hold her up.
"Good job." They all turn towards the voice and see Dowling standing there. "Stupid, but impressive."
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"All right?" Calia hears her father speak, as she walks into the greenhouse house. Sky and Riven waiting for her outside, knowing she needed to do this on her own.
Calia clears her throat, making herself known as she walks towards him. Saul immediately stands up, pointing at her. "You are an absolute idiot. Sky and Riven, also!"
"I know." Calia walks toward him.
"A reckless, impulsive—."
"I know."
"Why would you even do something like that?!"
"Is it better?" Calia dodges the question.
"You could've—."
"Professor Harvey." Calia looks to her roommates father. She knew the answer, she just needed to hear it. "Is it better?"
Professor Harvey says nothing, only smiles at the young girl. She did it. Saul shakes his head. "Don't smile at her."
"Too late." Calia chuckles before she pulls her father into a hug. Saul immediately hugs her back, laying his chin on her head as they sway side to side.
Saul pulls away, connecting their foreheads and placing a hand on the side of his daughters face. "I'm so proud of you."
"But I thought I was a reckless, impulsive idiot." Calia teases.
"You are." Saul smiles. "But that doesn't change the fact that you killed a Burned one. I'm proud of you, sweetheart. Thank you for saving me."
"I couldn't lose you, Dad." Calia puts her hand over his. "I-I just couldn't."
"And you didn't." Saul places a kiss on her forehead before bringing her into his embrace again. Moments later, they were suddenly attacked in a hug. Calia laughs knowing who it was.
"We got tired of waiting outside." Sky says, a smile on his lips.
"You two are even bigger idiots for helping her." Saul says with a chuckle before attempting to hug them all.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Dad." Calia walks into his room. She jumps onto his bed, sitting right next to him. She decided to stay with him for the night, make sure he was actually okay and nothing would happen in the middle of the night.
"Yes, my lovely daughter." Saul lays back.
Calia fiddles with the ends of her shirt as she debated telling him about the vision she had about her mother and Rosalind. Seeing her nervousness, he sits up again. "What's wrong?"
"Never mind." Calia shakes her head. "It's probably the wrong time, you just got better and—."
"Speak to me, Cal." Saul cuts her off, as he yawns.
"Dad, it's okay, you're tired and it can wait until tomorrow." Calia goes next to him and goes under the covers.
"Are you sure?" Saul looks over at his daughter.
"Yeah." Calia nods as she lays down, she gives him a smile. "Go to sleep, Dad. You need it."
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Dad...I'm happy you're okay."
"All because of you, my dear."
