The morning was surprisingly calm compared to all the other mornings I had a presentation to do. I woke up at 6:00 am and was ready by 8:00 am. That one hour of sleep was more like a power nap. Jane drove me to the office building and said she would wait until after the meeting to talk to her boyfriend. I stepped inside the building and was instantly met with an expensive smell.

I asked for assistance at the front desk and was led to a room with a long table and chairs around. There was only one person there, Jane's boyfriend. Deja vu hit me so hard at that moment. Simon? It finally hit me, I didn't recognise him because he had a side part but with the middle part he had now, I could see that it is definitely him but I can't jump to conclusions. It also explains why he looked at me that way when I met him at Jane's house.

I greeted him but he just looked at me and looked down at his phone, ugh. I sat on the opposite end of the table, pulled out my laptop and began setting up. He looked up at his phone occasionally and I would catch him and grin. Eventually, other sponsors and employees entered and my presentation began. I felt confident, I don't know why, usually, I stutter and mumble but now I was properly pronouncing my words at a good volume, well, until they started asking questions,

"What's the benefit of our company?" One implied.

"What are we supposed to sponsor? A clipboard?" Others dropped.

I felt overwhelmed but I was able to hold it back. I decided to use answers from the top of my brain.

"Well the benefit of your company would be the popularity increase since our art pieces come from top talented artists," I began, "You can sponsor paint and art supplies, they would be needed for decoration of the backdrops" I finished.

They were all surprised by my quick response and began to write in their books, now it was up to Mister Solis to say his opinion.

"Well, you gave great answers and reasons but I have one question ... .Who are you and what is your role in the company?" He asked.

For some reason, my heart sank. Why was he asking this?

"Uhm, I am Aurora Miller and I am part of the Marketing team of Miller's Missing Pieces Art Market also known as MMP" I replied.

Everyone turned their heads back to Mister Solis in confusion,

"Well then, I agree to collaborate with your company, I would like to speak to you afterwards" he announced.

The last 12 minutes of the meeting was spent sharing contacts for different sponsors etc. After all the employee's left, it was just him and I. I decided to do a brave thing,

"Never thought I'd see you again" I began

"I didn't know Jane was your best friend, otherwise I would've denied her" He says out of the blue.

"Yeah she is, and you're a bad boyfriend for not showing up yesterday" I attacked him.

"I didn't promise her I would come, I told her I would try," he replied.

"Try Harder" I say.

He looks at me, "You have a lot of guts to tell me what to do" he snaps.

"I can't stand you right now," I say in frustration.

"Well you're going to have to learn because you're stuck with me" He mentions, "Oh, you didn't know? Your father put you in charge of the collaboration"

My face turned red, I was fuming, this was my vacation but no, I have to work and worst yet with Mr. 'You can't tell me what to do'.

I exhale and then a knock is heard. Jane steps in and I instantly step out of the room. I am not going to lie, I was eavesdropping. They were arguing and loud as well.

"THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME" Jane shouts

"You know I don't like going to amusement parks" He said calmly

"BUT YOU COULD HAVE BEARED FOR JUST ONE DAY BUT NO WORK IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT" She screams.

"IT IS MORE IMPORTANT, MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU WILL EVER BE" He snaps at her.

Jane bursts outside the door, ignoring my presence at the door and crying a river. Simon looks at me, I look at him and say the most pettiest sentence ever,

"Oh no, it seems like Simon had an argument, don't worry just work it off" I say sarcastically and walk off.

Simon changed, like drastically, he got stern and serious, it seems like trouble will be heading my way for this collaboration and my sentence possibly made it worse.
