Dear Michael,

I'm writing you this message, 6 minutes left for the day you left this universe, knowing that tomorrow will be a day to remember you and your legacy. Who would have thought that man who died this day, eleven years ago, would've changed my life? I clearly remember how I saw you on the computer screen, while the next day people were talking about you.
I'm so grateful to have you in my life, your music, your influence, your legacy, everything that you've left behind— you became part of me. Hearing just one song or just by watching a video clip, makes my day better, even when there's something that doesn't have to do with you, you still manage to have your energy around me.
You have become part of a friend or even a family member. People will never understand how it is that a man like you—that I never met—, could've been in my everyday life. It is simple; every time I feel sad, insecure; your music makes me feel better. Part of my childhood, I had always felt different, as if I didn't belong, I'm always aware of how people have taken advantage of my own innocence, still just being a nice person— you were there. In my darkest times, you became my friend.
It saddens me the fact that I would never have the chance to meet you, to have a conversation, just to see you. I will never be able to express myself with you because I've watching, listening, studying you for such a long time— you are the one that gets me sometimes. It so sad the way people treated you; you didn't deserve half of the things that you experienced. Either way, you've stayed strong while you could.
