The night was falling at Esperanza Martinez's sight, sitting at a café, finishing one of the multiple emails she has to respond. Esperanza is hoping that one publisher can pick her story, that story that has been keeping her from sleeping, eating, and even taking a bath. The only way she can appear somewhat presentable is from the tiring and stressful classes she still has to attend. Red, burning eyes from the screen, and tiring fingers not letting her type any other word. Esperanza closes her laptop as she starts to get her belongings and to exit to walk back home.
The warm summer night of the street of Brooklyn, New York, feels like a reflection of Esperanza's struggles and frustrating emotions for every failure she has experienced. Multiple taxi cabs passing by, the soft breeze hitting her face, as she returns to her studio complex. The city was silent from the numerous times, Esperanza has walked by as if she was walking away from the city that has been spending most of her college years exploring the recognizable places, and the taking walks on Central Park. On the way near to Esperanza's apartment, she detained her step as she glimpses some bright tiny crystal pieces over the gray pavement. She puzzlingly glares, probably somebody broke their bracelet. She shakes her head, as she makes her way into the apartment, she throws her keys on the small dining table along with her grey backpack and lays on her sofa; exhausted from the long day she had.
Esperanza looks at the emptiness of the room, visualizing the thoughts that keep running through her mind; the multiple scenarios; the fear the possibility to failure is one of them. Yet, she is maintaining optimism.
"Believe in yourself."
A random voice arises to Esperanza's ear, looking around to find somebody in her empty apartment, yet she knows nobody is with her. As if it was directed to her, as if it was listening, observing her moves. Esperanza just rolls her eyes, probably was just her mind playing with her, it was almost midnight, and she hardly had the opportunity to have some rest. It was perhaps better for her to go to bed, getting her way to get the sweet sleep for whatever is waiting for her.

End of the chapter
I decided to split up three parts since I want to spend time working in the middle of the story. I'm so excited about making this short story because it is something that I keep visualizing in my mind. I want to see your comment, and please feel free to leave here. Please leave any criticism. I'm very open to hear them.
