After The Book of Peace was stolen, Sinbad was arrested and was thrown into a cell where Valt was waiting.

Valt: "Shu."

Shu: "Valt! It's about time."

Valt walks angrily up to Shu.

Valt: "Do you realize how serious this is?"

Shu: "Do you realize how many times I've heard that today?"

Valt: "You've betrayed Syracuse!"

Shu: "Oh, not you, too."

Valt: "Stealing the Book of Peace, when you knew how much it meant to us!"

Shu: "Valt, here's the way this works. First, I actually commit a crime, and then you get to blame me for it!"

Valt: "Then how do you explain this?"

Valt takes the dagger out that Eris took from Sinbad yesterday. He connected the dots and the reason why the Book of Peace has been stolen, he whispered...

Shu: "Eris."

Valt: "What?"

Shu: "Eris... she framed me."

Valt: "Sinbad, listen to yourself."

Valt walked past him.

Shu: "Trust me, Valt, the Book is in Tartarus. Talk to your father. Tell him I'm..."

Valt: "This is beyond my father. The ambassadors are convening now for your trial."

Shu couldn't believe what he was hearing.

Shu: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Trial? I didn't do it! Look, I left the Book on your ship, and that's the last I saw of it. You were there. You know the truth. You know me."

Valt: "Do I? I knew a kid. Who are you now, Shu?"

Shu sighs.

Valt: "Look me in the eye and tell me. Did you steal the Book?"

Shu looks at him, straight in the eye.

Shu: "No."

Valt looks at his eyes to see if he was lying but in his eyes. He wasn't.

After having a conversation with Valt. Shu was taken to the court where the ambassadors, were trying to get the Book from Shu, which they think he might have.

Kento: "We've heard enough of your lies. Shu, for the last time, give us the Book."

Kento walks up to Shu, getting impatient.

Shu: "How many times do I have to say it? I don't have it!"

Then the Council Judge, Phi, stands up as the rest follows.

Phi: "Very well, then. The Delegation of the Twelve Cities find you guilty of treason, and we sentence you to die. Take him away."

Shu: "Come on! This is a joke, right? Are you... are you people blind? I didn't do it!"

The guards started dragging Shu away as he struggles to get them off.

Valt: "Stop!"

The crowd gasps as Valt steps up.

Valt: "I demand the right of substitution. Take me in his place."

Kento: "No!"

Everyone looks at him surprised.

Valt: "Shu says that Eris took the Book, and I believe him. Let him go to Tartarus and recover the book."

Shu smirks as he said Eris had the book but didn't expect to announce that Shu will bring it back.

Shu: "What?"

The crowd murmurs. The ambassadors gather up to discuss. Shu jogs up to Valt and pulls him back.

Shu: "What are you doing?"

Valt: "You claim that Eris stole the Book, steal it back. You're good at that."

Shu: "Hey, look, I will not be responsible for your life."

Valt: "You would do the same for me."

Sinbad: No, I wouldn't.

Kento: "If Shu is allowed to leave the city, he'll never come back! Son, listen to reason."

Kento walks up to Valt.

Valt: "No, Father, you listen."

Valt pushes Sinbad out of the way.

Valt: "Shu either stole the Book, or he's telling the truth and it's in Tartarus. Either way, he's our only hope."

Y/N was discussing with Phi to not let Valt take Shu's place.

Y/N: "But you can't..."

But Phi ignores her protest as he turns to Valt and Y/N looks away upset.

Phi: "Valt, you realize that if Shu does not return, you will be put to death in his place."

Valt: "I understand."

Phi [sighing]: "So be it. Shu has ten days to return the Book."

Y/N and Kento look down as Y/N sighs that there was nothing she can do.

Kento [sighs]: "Release him."

The guards unlock Shu's handcuffs as he rubs them and they move to Valt's wrist, Valt and Shu made eye contact, out of constant worry. The guards walk with Valt to the cell as Y/N walks up to him and shook her head, then sighing. Valt gives her a reassuring smile and a nod he then turned to Shu.

Valt: "Oh, and, Shu... don't be late."

With that said they walk away to the cells, Shu and Y/N made eye contact as she glares at him and Shu groans at what mess he has gotten himself into.
