EIRENE BLACKWELL hated demons. She despised them with a burning passion that settled deep in her stomach like a volcano awaiting to erupt. And when it did, it was not good for the black eyed fuckers that surrounded her. From daggers soaked in holy water to guns loaded with rock salt bullets. Eirene was determined to kill them all. Why? Because they had been the reason why her best friend was dead. They were the reason why Sam and Dean no longer had a mother in their lives. And they were the reason why John Winchester was now the man he was. He'd wanted his boys to be just as skilled and knowledgeable about the monsters as he was. And oh, they sure were. But even profesional hunters like them can make mistakes. And it was about time that someone or rather something put them back in line. What they needed was a smack in the face, a real eye opener to see that the people closest to them always got hurt. Or that even they couldn't save everyone. It was inevitable. That they'd get hurt and die. Then they'd just be brought right back through a deal or a rather endowed and stoic angel in a beige trench coat. The point is, they lived, and everyone else died. There was no stopping that from happening. It was just a question of who it would have to die next to make them see that?

━━━━━━━━━

"LOOK, ALL I've got to do is get in get out. How hard could it be?" Eirene pressed on as she peered between both brothers with a raised eyebrow and folded arms. Before them was a bar. A rather nice on at that called the 'Diamond Tavern'. The building stood tall and had the name proudly presented above it in a bold blue font. It was clearly not a normal bar at that. The three hunters had gotten word that some local demons were crawling about the town and possessing whoever they saw fit. After that, they'd slaughter anyone close to the victim. And if they were really lazy, some of them would just kill the vessel they were in before an exorcism could come their way. However, the majority of the time, the demon would leave right as the police showed up, allowing the person to be arrested for something they hadn't even done.

At the word that the Winchester's were in town with a Blackwell, most fled and only a mere few remained. The trio figured they'd go after the rest later when this was finished.

The plan was that Eirene would go inside and locate the demon. Then try and flirt with him to get him to come outside. After that, they would either try to get information out of him or just straight up exorcise him. It was clear to see just who had made up the plan. Dean wasn't happy whatsoever that the brunette would be going in alone. Of course he knew she was skilled and knew her way around weapons but didn't like the fact that another man, let alone a demon possessed man, would be not only trying his luck with her but also flirting with her. It made him sick to his stomach at the thought. Nevertheless, Dean knew he had to let her ( it wasn't like she'd listen to him anyway, she never did ).

The green eyed man sighed and dragged his ring covered hand over his face in his inner turmoil. He really didn't want Eirene going in there alone, but what choice did he have? The demons were sure to recognise either of the Winchester brothers, so, unfortunately, Eirene was their best bet. Peering to Sam, who motionined for him to say something vehemently as his eyes flitted between the two oblivious sould wildly.

Recognising this, Dean grabbed Eirene's hand in his and pulled her further away from Sam and put his hands on her shoulders, admiring the woman fondly. She truly did look stunning. Though didn't she always? Her usual brunette waves were tightly pulled and brushed back into a low bun held together with a clip formed from beautiful white pearls. The makeup she had on her face was light but definitely noticeable from the nude pink lipstick smeared on her lips in a neat fashion. A light silver necklace was hanging around her neck and sat delicately on her collarbone, glimmering in the pale moonlight. Then there were her earrings, which hung from her ears palidly and softly. They, too, were an object of beauty ( but nothing could amount to the woman herself ). Finally, there was the dress. Oh, the dress. It showed a little too much of everything if he was being honest. Sam had gone with Eirene to pick it out, so Dean had made a mental note to talk with his brother about that later on.

The man was snapped out of his thoughts as Eirene huffed and adjusted her dress slightly as it had hiked up at the fast movement. Dean avoided looming down as he gazed into her gorgeous bright blue eyes that he found himself never being able to get sick of. "Look, I just want you to be careful. If anything goes south and I mean anything then -" he began but was cut off swiftly by the hunter that had caught his affection.

" ━━ Call you, yeah, I know, Dean. And I promise I will, alright? But I'm almost one hundred per cent sure that everything will be fine." Eirene reassured as one of her hands moved up to his shoulder while the other rested on the side of his face in order to reassure his racing heart which, quite frankly, hadn't stopped beating erratically ever since he'd been informed of her idea.

Dean eased a little but at what she'd said but not completely.

"Almost isn't good enough." Dean continued as he brought her closer to him to try and ease his nerves. "Just let me come inside with you, and Sammy can stay here and do his nerdy mojo thing or whatever he does."

Eirene sighed as she removed herself from the hunters firm grasp and grabbed his calloused hands in her soft ones. "I would, but . . ." Eirene trailed off while glancing him up and down with her cool and calculating eyes. "You're not exactly dressed for the part, are you?"

Dean scoffed and rolled his shoulders backwards slightly to adjust the leather jacket that hung over his broad shoulders. He was more than ready to offer it to Eirene after this hunt. "So what? That's never bothered you before."
Eirene sighed through her nose and looked up to meet his eyes. "It has, and you know it. I always love to dress the part. So believe me when I say you're not going in there whilst wearing that."

"What's wrong with my outfit?" Dean countered immediately after her words, offended. He found most women loved how he dressed. Keyword, most. It seemed that Eirene Blackwell was not most women.

"Nothing. It's just . . . not appropriate for this kind of situation." Was her response which Dean supposed she wasn't entirely wrong. Jeans, a black v neck, and his signature leather jacket doesn't exactly scream. I'm rich!

At that, he sighed once more and, rather begrudgingly, accepted his fate. Eirene was going in alone, and he just hoped she'd be alright.

━━━━━━━━━━

THE INSIDE was just as glorious as the outside. Brightly lit candles stood on every table and wall possible, and beautiful chandeliers hung from the ceiling in a stunning fashion. Everywhere you looked, there was a man in a fine suit or woman in beautiful dresses and enriching jewellery and makeup. Eirene found it difficult to believe that this place was a bar. It most definitely didn't seem like one.

A tap on her shoulder interrupted her thoughts. Startled by the action, she jumped slightly before turning around to be met with a rather handsome face. Eirene knew that he was one of the demons who, rather stupidly, hadn't fled back to hell. However, fortunately, this demon didn't appear to know who she was. At least by face anyway. The demon didn't say a word but only led her to a man who seemed to be around the same age as her or Dean. He had brown hair that parted neatly in the middle and brown eyes that were incredibly suffocating. As soon as he noticed her presence, he smiled a dashing smile and patted the seat next to him.

This demon really knew how to play its part. Eirene couldn't help but feel bad for the man it was currently possessing. He was handsome and most definitely had a good, long life ahead of him. If he were to make it out of this alive, that is.

Eirene gave the other demon a small nod in appreciation and watched as he walked away, presumably to lead some other poor woman to their fate ( she sure hoped not ).

"My my, aren't you a beauty." The man spoke with kind eyes and a trusting expression.

Eirene cringed slightly but still found the compliment rather lovely. It's not like she got them daily from Sam and Dean. "Thank you. You're rather handsome yourself."

He held out his hand and offered it to her. "Laurence."

"What?" Eirene failed to stiffle a choked laugh. This man really was who he presented himself as. And the brunette was just going off of his name alone. If it wasn't that, it was his outfit and appearance. Not to mention the fact that he was in a bar like this ( again, this demon really knew what they were doing. If Eirene hadn't known about this kind of life, she wouldn't have thought anything of it ).

"That's my name. If we're going to be talking, I think you should at least know my name and I yours."

Realisation washed over her like a tidal wave. Her name? Eirene was a great liar, but to think of a name on the spot. She wasn't the best under pressure. It had to be something classy but nothing too crazy. Something eloquent yet not too posh. She wasn't the usual kind of person who would enter a place like this. No matter how hard her appearance fought against that.

"Lillian." Eirene replied. "My name's Lillian."

The hunter watched as the demons smile only grew.

"Lovely name." He complimented as his hand reached up to mess with her earring. Eirene winced slighlty as the cold metal hit the area just below her neck as it fell back into place from the man's action.

"Thank you."

Noticing she was being rather blunt, the demon moved his chair slightly closer to the woman and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear that had fallen just moments prior from her tight updo. The brunette couldn't help but wish that it was another man's hands on her right now. It just felt weird. Not like she'd ever admit they, however. Eirene would rather be caught dead than ever admit it. Dean would never let her hear the end of it. She could picture it now. Sam sat to the side with a boyish grin while his head was stuffed in a book or back hunched over his beloved laptop. While the other brother would remain to teasing her ever so gently with a boastful smile plastered on his ridiculously handsome face.

However, suddenly remembering her job, Eirene scooted as close as she could to Laurence and placed her hand on his thigh, and moved it up slightly. She then moved closer to the demons ear and spoke ever so quietly so only she and him could hear it. "Why don't we go somewhere a little more quiet, hm? There's way too many people in here."

Laurence didn't have a chance to reply before Eirene was grabbing his hand and pulling him out of his seat, drinks abandoned and forgotten by the pair as she led them out of the back exit that the three hunters had already discovered prior to this moment. And just outside, there would be Sam and Dean ready to do their thing.

━━━━━━━━━━

"YOU GOT the stuff ready?" The green eyed man questioned as his eyes were firmly locked on the door. They hadn't left since Eirene had entered.

Sam turned to his brother, noticing his worry, but turned back to the boot of the car and made a mental checklist in his head before replying. "Yep, we've got everything."

The only response he got was a gruff 'okay'. He supposed that's all he'd get from Dean while Eirene was still in that damned bar. Of course, he was worried too, but he knew that she was far more than capable of protecting herself. And given the repeated confirmation that she'd call for help if need be, Sam felt she'd be fine. She always was.

The two got into ready positions once they heard the familiar click clack of heels down the corridor from the emergency exit. Sam readied his bible while Dean had his flask of holy water and dagger, ready to attack if need be. Though both men found that wouldn't be the case as the door swung open to reveal a perfectly okay Eirene Blackwell. Albeit her dress was a bit rumpled, hair out of place and lipstick smudged ever so slightly, she was still her, and she was okay. The eldest hunter felt a familiar rush of relief filter throughout his body as his weapons were lowered. Both brothers glanced to each other in confusion before turning back to the woman who was now making her way back to the car.

"You mind telling us what happened in there?" Dean demanded as he walked over to her. He could slowly feel anger bubbling in his stomach. She hadn't stuck the plan. Why hadn't she stuck to the plan?

Eirene peered to him with a small shrug of indifference. "I got rid of him."

It was Sam who spoke this time in a tone of confirmation and confusion. "You got rid of him?"

Eirene scoffed. "Yes, I got rid of him. How many times do you want me to say it for it to get through your thick men skulls?" She teased with a light smile.

The shaggy haired man chuckled slightly, but it still didn't fix the unsease that had overcome his body in record time.

"Now, are we getting out of here or not?"

Not another word was said as they all got into the car with Sam in the front this time and Eirene at the back.

━━━━━━━━━━

THE MOTEL they were staying atnwas actually pretty decent comsiseing all of the other dumps they'd stayed in on past hunts. However, Sam opted to get his own room, leaving Dean and Eirene to share one. Luckily, it had two beds. Not long after, they'd arrived, Sam rushed to his room and immediately crashed on the surprisingly comfortable bed and was out like a light.

This left the other two hunters to the room next door. Dean made his way to the bed on the right and sat down. It made a creaking noise as he did so, but he just ignored it, opting to speak with Eirene instead. By now, the anger he had felt just a mere forty-five minutes before had almost completely dissipated by now. Almost.

"So . . ." He began as his hands fumbled with a small ornament that lay on the small chest of drawers that sat beside his bed.

Eirene looked backwards from her hard gaze in the mirror, both hands attached to her right earring, trying to get it off. After an hour or two of wearing them, the brunette wanted nothing more than to take it all off and go to sleep. "So what?" she asked, confusion laced deeply in her tone.

Dean put the ornament down and smacked his lips together tightly as he looked back to Eirene, who was now looking back into the mirror. "Why'd you not keep to the plan." he asked slowly. Everything he'd been feeling not too long ago was now resurfacing.

The woman huffed softly before she walked over to him and sat on the edge of his bed, slowly inching closer to his body. "I thought you didn't like my plan. You thought it was stupid."

Dean was quick to correct her, ignoring how close she was becoming. "I thought it was reckless."

"Yeah, whatever, Winchester. Same thing, isn't it?"

Dean forced his eyes up and not to the dip of her dress or way it rose a little too high. "Not really."

Eirene tilted her head to the side. "Isn't it? I think it is."

Throughout their banter, he hadn't noticed just how what little space remained between them had rapidly begun to decrease. Now, she was only a few inches away. He could practically smell the perfume she had sprayed herself with before they'd all left.

This moment was everything Dean'd ever hoped for. Yet he couldn't quite get rid of the sinking feeling in his gut. Something didn't feel right. Something felt off. And he didn't like it, he didn't like it not one bit. Yet he couldn't help but feel surprised as he saw Eirene's tanned face lean ever so close towards him. Again, it was a little too close.

The man acted quickly in pushing Eirene backwards slightly. Surely she was drunk, right? She had to be. Even though the woman seemed alright before hand.

"Alright, just how much did you have to drink tonight?" He inquired with a soft but questionable tone.

The reaction he got certainly wasn't the reaction he was expecting. She laughed. As though the mere thought was ridiculous. Absurd even.

"Nothing." The huntress defended brashly with her arms now folded against her stomach.

Dean raised his eyebrows in disbelief and looked to her with a pointed look.

"I'm not drunk, Dean. Why do I have to be drunk to do this."

The eldest Winchester's eyebrows furrowed into a line. Eirene sure was acting weird. Never did she act like this, nor did she ever call him by his first name. "You don't. I'm just ━━ . . . are you sure you want to do this?"

Eirene laughed quietly and ran her hand up his arm. "Absolutely."

Dean sighed and looked into her eyes, which showed nothing but certainty. Slowly, his hand moved up to cup her cheek. Then, it moved down to her waist while the other was firmly placed on the back of her neck. It felt like minutes had passed when, in reality, it had only been a couple of seconds. Dean felt like his dreams had finally come true as he felt her lips on his. It was blissful.
Until it wasn't. From the moment their lips touched to the moment he felt something sharp poke his stomach, it all happened too fast. The hunter immediately recoiled and saw that in the brunette's hand was a very sharp looking silver dagger. It was the same one she'd brought in the bar just earlier on. It was the same one Eirene was to use on the demon. And now, it was being pointed right at Dean Winchester's chest.

The blue-eyed woman was now above him, legs on either side of his waist as she desperately tried to plunge the knife down right into his heart with all of the force she could muster. Meanwhile, the latter's hands were gripped tightly around the handle, trying to push it away from his body. He didn't know why all of a sudden Eirene wanted to kill him, but he knew for sure he wasn't going to let it happen.

But it was then, at that very moment, Dean felt one of his greatest fears reign true. The hunter didn't know what to think as he stared at the endless dark black pits that had swallowed the beautiful sky blue that he loved ever so dearly, but once more he knew he wasn't going to let it happen again. All they'd have to do was perform a simple exorcism, and everything would be well and forgotten.

Wrong.

The demon was putting up much more of a fight than he'd expected. Before he could even attempt to call for some kind of help, the door burst open, and in came the man he was hoping for.

Sam didn't have a moment to process what was happening before he was over to the bed in lightning speed and pulling off a murderous Eirene from Dean who only thrashed angrily in response demanding to be let go, though everyone in the room knew that wasn't going to happen.

And before she knew it or before the demon could anticipate their next moves, everything went black.

━━━━━━━━━━

A HIGH-PITCHED ringing made its way into not only the demons' ears but Eirene's, too. Then, a bright white light filtered through the room along with three bodies standing in front of wherever the hell she was, all with something different in their hands.

"Ah, look who's awake." A deep and gravelly voice, who Eirene assumed to be Dean spoke.

Her eyed flashed black as the demon spoke. "Bite me."

Sam internally winced at the sight of his friend tied up. They'd used holy water infused ropes to tie back her legs and waist while silver handcuffs with a devils trap engraved in them so she couldn't break free were placed tightly, but not too tightly, on her wrists pinning them back in place behind the uncomfortable wooden chair she was forced to be sat on. It was a grim sight for not just Sam but all three hunters to see someone they all considered family tied down like this, but unfortunately, it was a typical standard hunter procedure that had to be followed through with.

"You know, this is pretty fun. I've never been in a woman's body before."

Dean immediately felt his body stiffen at the demons words. God, how he hated them all. Especially for what they were doing to Eirene.

The demon let out a joyous sigh of pure mirth. "You know, I really thought I'd finally be the one to end the dreaded Winchesters blood line. But no, somehow you're all still alive! Do you know how infuriating that is?"

"We can take a guess." Sam muttered under his breath in a snarky tone.

Eirene stared up at his taller form and chuckled. "Sarcasm isn't a good look on you, Sammy."

"It's Sam to you." He spoke in an angered tone. Not only was the demon using his best friend, but it was also using his nickname that always delicately fell from her lips with a wide smile and kind eyes.

The demon tilted in the woman tilted her head back and let out a deep sigh before rolling her head back up to face them all. "You're no fun, Winchester."

At that, none of the men spoke and exchanged sorrowful and hard glances. They knew one thing and one thing for sure, they were getting this demon out of Eirene tonight.

"Why the silent treatment all of a sudden, boys? Am I really that boring? I'm offended."

Again, nothing. However, Dean found it difficult not to say anything. Usually, in times like this, he'd have the brunette by his side with her hand ready for him to hold or shed be there to provide a sarcastic or witty comment. But now, here she was, tied down to a chair binded by ropes like an animal. He couldn't bear it anymore. With one last glance to the woman, he turned around and marched out the room, desperate for an escape.

━━━━━━━━━━

WHEN THE green eyed man returned, nothing had changed. Sunlight still filtered through the windows, which was a heavy contrast to the mood in the room. Sam and Bobby were still standing, watching the hunter with careful back and forth glances. Eirene was still tied down to the chair. Lastly, the devils trap was still looming over her in bright red for extra precaution.

Oh, how quickly the hunter can become the hunted.

Both men turned to him when the door slammed open. The force was so large that it hit the wall on impact. Earning a shocked look from Sam and a reprimanding one from Bobby.

"Well, would you look who's back. Come to re-join the party, have you?"

Dean turned to her and glared at Eirene with a deepfound hatred of which the others hadn't seen from him before.

"These two are no fun." She continued with a subtle smirk plastered on her tanned face.

It was then that Dean spoke. "Oh well, I'm sure we'll all be having a party in no time. Well, we will. Not you."

Eirene raised an eyebrow before she tilted her head back and let out a merciless laugh that echoed through the room. It was a deep and eerie one that shocked them to their core. Dread instantaneously settled into all of their stomachs.

"You think this is funny?" Dean quizzed as he glanced back to the demon possessing Eirene.

The woman looked back towards the three hunters with mirth in her eyes. "Comical."

The green eyed man felt his jaw clench and muscles tense as he watched her. He couldn't help the anger he was feeling. How dare this demon use her body. How dare this demon smile her smile and laugh her laugh. It turned everything she did sinister, dark and cold. And he hated it. Oh, how he hated it.

"You really think you can save the girl, huh? Well, guess what, you can't. You never will. You Winchester's never do. Especially after what happened to poor little Jessica."

An air of trepidation and anger ( mainly from Sam ) filled the house. The tension was so thick at what the brunette woman had just bought up. Everyone knew what a sensitive topic that was for the man. After all, it hadn't been too long since since her passing, and the fact that this demon had the audacity to bring it up made something different alight in him.

Without any hesitation, Sam reached for a book from afar and instantly began to recite from it. And as soon as he spoke, everyone else in the room knew what he was saying. He was performing an exorcism. No longer did he care about any information the demon had to offer. Sam just wanted it out of his best friend. The result, however, was not one he was expecting. Sure, they'd all had difficult demons ( literally and mentally ) but never had one laughed in their face at an exorcism.
Something that should be excruciatingly painful for them was only making it chuckle quietly as the three hunters stood in whar could only be described as pure confusion. What the hell was going on?

"That tickles. Why don't you keep on going, Sammy? See what happens." The demon taunted. Sam only winced at the use of the fond nickname bestowed upon him from his brother and best friend that fell from the molesters lips that were agonisingly still stained with the lipstick that Eirene had worn just earlier that evening so proudly.

"You have no right to call me that." He spoke once more in a harsher tone than anyone, even Dean, had ever heard him speak in. Not even when he'd left to go to college, and that sure was saying something.

"Don't I? I thought I was your best friend, no?"

"You're not my friend."

Eirene tuted and sent him a sympathetic gaze, yet all men knew it was anything but. "Of course I am Sammy!"

At her choice of words, Sam snapped open the book once more and resumed where he was reading from. At this point, he didn't care if it didn't even work fully. He just wanted this demon to feel something, anything that wasn't a pleasure in the form of his best friend.

The demon laughed once more with Eirene's head thrown backwards. Pure glee in its deep black eyes. "I thought we already established that this wasn't going to work on me."

It just went ignored, however, as Sam kept on reading, not stopping to look up at her once. Bobby and Dean stood to the side with flasks of holy water and salt in their hands. They didn't want to use them, but it was just a precaution in case things got too out of hand. This demon already proved themselves to be stronger than any other they'd faced ( except maybe yellow eyes, of course ) so far.

Eventually, the laughing stopped, and it was replaced with a look of discomfort. The demon started wriggling around hurriedly. Except this didn't appear to be the demon. Over the course of a possession, it was a well-known fact that the person it was possessing could be able to break free for a mere few moments. It was a rare thing as any but provided many new open doors in order to exorcise the demon out of the human body. And it seemed that Eirene Blackwell had done just that.

Both hunters from afar lowered their ammunites and stared with watchful eyes at the brunette who looked back at them with those teary blue eyes that Dean found himself not being able to pull himself away from.

Not being sure if it was really her, Sam and Bobby stood close to the green eyed man just in case. After all, you could never be too careful, especially in a world like this.

Dean was the one who spoke as he lowered himself slightly in front of her with a careful stature. "Eirene, that you?"

Eirene looked up, and that was all the confirmation he needed. Gone were the deep, dark black pits and the emotionless expression. Now, the brunette looked truly broken. "Dean . . . please get it out of me." She cried as she stared into his eyes, pleading him, begging him to help her. And all he could do was nod softly and push some hair away that was in front of her face behind her ear. "You need something stronger, much stronger."

"I will, I promise. We'll get something stronger and get this black eyed son of a bitch out, alright?"

Eirene blinked as more tears fell. "You swear it?"

Dean stood silent for a moment, glancing back to his brother and esteemed father figure. They didn't look too hopeful. In fact, they looked about just as deglected as she did, if not worse.

"I swear it . . ."

And as quickly as it came, it went. The demon was back, and bright blue was swiftly replaced with charcoal black. A change that made dread settle in everyone's stomach.
"Like little orphan Annie said, you're going to need something much stronger to get rid of me, boys."

It seemed that Sam's usual go-to exorcism only worked for a few minutes. So as it'd turn out, they really did need something much stronger.

━━━━━━━━━━

AFTER A while of research from the many books Bobby had laid stacked on each other, the trio weren't feeling much more hopeful. There was nothing in any book anywhere to tell them what to do. After all, they'd never had a demon who hadn't fled before an exorcism. It was strange.

Dean sighed as he threw another book on top of the pile he'd already read. Dust flew from the impact. He sat on a rickety chair by a table with his legs up, leaning on another chair. Bobby was across from him on call with other hunters he knew in hopes that they'd know what to do.

"Alright, thanks." He spoke. The person on the other side said one more thing before the call was ended. The man threw his phone back on the table in disappointment.

Peering at the look on his face and the way he'd reacted to that phone call, Dean presumed that it hadn't gone well. Still, he tried his luck. "Any luck?" He inquired.

"Well, if you count, not a single hunter out there knowing what to do luck then great."

Any Dean had diminished as quick as it came.

"You're tellin' me nobody knows what the hells goin' on out there?" The green eyed man questioned incredulously in an extremely irritated tone.

Bobby turned to him. "Don't be takin' it out on me, boy."

The hunter let out a shaky breath while rubbing a hand over the back of his head. If no book was telling them what to do, and no hunter knew what to do, what options did that leave? They were well and truly stuck in a situation they couldn't get out of.

━━━━━━━━━━

THERE WAS no sun anymore. The sky had drastically darkened by now, and the clouds were as grey as ever. Rain hammered on the windows, and wind shook the building ever so slightly. It was perfect to represent the current mood of the three men.

While Dean and Bobby were in the room next door, Sam stayed with Eirene, knowing that someone had to watch her. On the table that stood away from where she was sat a dagger, no doubt soaked in holy water, a bible, a large container of salt, and a fully loaded gun packed with rock salt bullets, courtesy of Bobby himself. Just looking at it all made the youngest hunter feel sick. Dean had made it quite clear that no one ( not even him ) was to use any of it on the demon because it was still Eirene's body it was possessing. But if Sam couldn't help but think, if it came down to it, and they couldn't get the demon out of her, would Dean really pick up that gun or use that dagger? Admittedly, it wouldn't kill the demon or the brunette, but not everyone survived demon possession after the demon had left their body. Sometimes, the wounds they'd sustained with it in them became too much, and they just died. It was a harrowing thing, really, but it happened far too often than the hunters could count.

A low chuckle interrupted the Winchester man's thoughts. He peered to the other side of the room where it was coming from. Sam was surprised that he'd even managed to hear it over the storm that was now beginning to brew outside.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing." Was her response.

Sam rolled his eyes and turned back to the dreaded table that barely looked like it could stand for any longer due to the weight of it all.

"It's just, you're all running around here like headless chickens trying to figure out what to do, going out of your goddammn minds, when I think it's pretty clear that there is nothing you can do."

The shaggy haired man met Eirene's eyes with a hard gaze. They'd now turned back to that god-awful black colour that they all well and truly despised.

"Don't say that."

"Why not? It's true, you know. She's gonna die one day, and you know it. All of you will. Then there'll be one of you left to pick up the pieces of what once was. Selling your soul because you just can't bear to live without the other. It's just the Winchester way after all, isn't it Sammy?"

His hand stopped and hovered over the Holy water that he'd been oh so ready to pick up and use agasint her to drown out her awful words.

"What are you talking about?"

Another gut-wrenching laugh left the brunette's still pink lips rather too effortlessly for Sam's liking. "Didn't daddy dearest tell you before vanishing of the shape of the earth?"

"Tell me what?"

The demon hummed with a sly smile before leaning their head back. "I'll let you figure that out for yourself, phsycic boy."

Before another word could be spoken from either party, the demon rushed out of Eirene's body, and Sam watched as it shot up into the ceiling, disappearing once more in a puff of black smoke.

The door behind him suddenly burst open, and restless feet fell continuously behind.

"What in gods name was that?" Bobby questioned as he glanced to Sam for an answer. He said nothing, however, while looking over to Eirene. Her head hung low with parts of her hair that had fallen out of place from the shuffle between her and Dean just hours earlier.

The said man rushed over to the woman and lifted her head in his hands carefully ( an action he found himself performing far too often for his liking ).

"Eirene?"

Nothing.

He shook her shoulders and stared down at her eyes cautiously to deduce if their was any movement between them. There was nothing for a while, until there was. Noticeable to the other two men in the room, Dean let out a sigh of audible relief. Not long after, Sam nudged the older man out of the room in order to give his brother some much needed alone time with the brunette.

He was quick in sawing off the ropes that he'd hastily grabbed from the table. Then he unlocked the handcuffs in a quick and gentle fashion. He was about to help her up before he was startled by the throw of arms around his neck. Dean hesitated at first but slowly manoeuvred his arms around the hunter. One in her hair and the other on her back to soothe the not so silent cries that were falling from her lips.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let him get to me. I wasn't prepared enough, and now that demon is still out there doing god knows what and ━━"

Dean Winchester felt as though his heart had been ripped in half. What could he possibly say to her that could make this awful situation any better? Eirene had always been so strong ( in the time he's known her, at least ). And now here she was, crying in his arms, and he didn't know what to say to fix it. The man couldn't help but wish that Sam was there with him right about now. He always was good with all of this emotional crap. He always knew what to say and what to do.

Instead, he just reluctantly pulled back from her to grab her face in his hands. "Hey, it's alright, okay? We'll sort this out."

Eirene seemed to take in his words ever so slightly even if they didn't help at all whatsoever. It was the thought that counts. He was trying, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough.

"But it's not, is it? I remember you know. Everything that I did, everything that I said. It was like I was just watching from afar as that demon took over. It was horrible."

A shaky breath left the eldest brother as he took the woman back into his chest.

Oh, how he hated demons.

"SO IT just left?"

"Yeah, Bobby, it just up and left. Who knows why."

The man let out a small chuckle as he considered all of the potential possibilities. "Probably didn't want to get their ass wooped by a Winchester."

Sam laughed at that but didn't say anything. Truthfully, he didn't know why the demon just decided to leave them unharmed let alone leave at all. It was all rather odd. The demon didn't respond to an exorcism nor did they try anything which was quite odd considering all that it'd done. And then there was what it had said to Sam. Never had he been so confused in his life. What the hell was going on?

A voice broke him out of his thoughts. He looked up to see Dean standing there with a tired look on his face.

"Get your stuff, we're leaving."

Before Sam coukd even have a chance to reply the door was slammed shut once more.

How one demon had changed the course of their entire night.
