  Astraia was born from the combination of stars and cosmic design, nyx took her in as the stars could not raise her, Astraia's extraordinary powers have helped protect her own realm, and later Morpheus's. Astraia lived among the stars for centuries, she was the daughter of an extraordinary phenomenon. She often visited the mortal world, just out of pure curiosity.

she, morpheus, and his siblings met,  during a party. Morpheus at the time was with Orpheus's mother, but Astraia and Morpheus remained friends, she was also really close with Death and Delirium/Delight. After Orpheus's fate, but before the events of( season 2 ) Astraia became Queen of the dreaming, she was morpheus had been deeply in love, but it was hard loving him, he wasn't cruel to her just cruel to the world, he was stoic and brooding, selfish. While Astraia was sweet, selfless, creating the stars for the sky so people had a chance to look at them before they entered the dreaming. Before his capture it was routine marriage, he had his duties, she had hers, she was often left alone. Then After 106 years in captivity, which devastated his land, Astraia had put up a barrier, so nothing else could destroy or harm them. Helping Lucienne to rebuild what they could, Morpheus had changed, only slightly, things were only temporarily better, Astraia had found she was carrying his child, but because he had failed with Orpheus, he requested that Astraia rid herself of the child.

So...the meeting of siblings takes place, she was requesting death take the child from her. And that's where the rest of her story takes place.
