chapter five, You aren't going anywhere

NOVA, BELLAMY, PIKE, OCTAVIA, AND ECHO arrive at Polis' entrance. "Where are the guards? Protocol would be to leave someone behind" Bellamy questions helping Nova out the rover as she keeps her sword steady on her hip along with her cross bow on her back.

"They did" Octavia answers Bellamy's questions and Pike shakes his head as he lets out an annoyed sigh.

"This was your people" Pike shrieks as he points his index finger in Echo's face angering her.

"Screw you!" Echo shouts in a grounder language. "Hey, she warned us. This proves she was telling the truth" Nova says pushing Echo back softly.

"We don't have time for this. The attack is at sundown" Bellamy states and Nova sighs crossing her arms. "I'm not leaving my weapons anywhere" Nova states and Bellamy shakes his head.

"None of us are. We go in through the tunnels. The entrance is this way" Echo says rushing down the small hill to get to the tunnels with everyone following behind.

Nova and the crew finally make it to the tunnels and have been walking through them for a while now making dirt spread across Nova's cheeks and her handmade clothing.

"How much further?" Nova asks wiping down her pants while breathing heavily. "We're almost there. The elevator shaft is just ahead" Echo answers as they creep up on a door revealing the elevator shaft and see 2 polis guards.

"They raise the lift. The elevator shaft is our only way in. We have to climb" Echo states and Nova nods her head understanding the plan. "I got left" Pike calls out as Bellamy pats his back and follows him.

While Nova and the rest of the group wait, Nova and Octavia see Pike and Bellamy kill the 2 guards. Nova, Echo and Octavia walk out stepping over the two bodies.

"What is wrong with you? You didn't have to kill them" Octavia says looking down at them while Bellamy looks up the elevator shaft.

"Yeah, I did. How many floors?" Bellamy asks and Echo clears her throat. "All of them" Echo states and Nova widens her eyes as she looks up the shaft. "You first" Nova says with a smile as she pats Bellamy's back. Bellamy sighs and goes on the ladder and begins climbing up the elevator shaft. Nova goes next then Octavia and Pike leaving Echo to go last.

Once they're up the elevator shaft to the top floor. They all hear a voice in the distance and make a run for the room with their guns in hand while Octavia and Nova have their swords.

Nova, Bellamy, Pike, and Octavia barge into the room with their weapons ready. A bunch of people are surround by them and Lexa and Clarke stand before them.

Clarke looks at Nova with shocked eyes. "Nova?" Clarke questions thinking of her first.

"What is the meaning of this?" One of the men standing next to the throne asks. "The summit's a trap. We need to get you out of here" Bellamy says as Nova slowly stands straight and looks around for Echo but doesn't find her.

"What the hell is going on?" Clarke asks as she steps down one of the steps.

"These allegations are an outrage. The Ice Nation never stormed this summit with weapons, breaking our laws. That was the Skaikru" One of the grounders speak up addressing the issue.

"We're right about this. The two guards you left behind are dead already. We need to go now" Pike states and Nova shakes her head finally understanding everything.

"How did you come by this information?" Lexa asks and Nova smacks her hands on her legs.

"Let's ask Echo... oh wait" Nova mumbles pointing to air and Octavia sighs.

"Where the hell is Echo?" Octavia questions.

"What's going on? Where the hell is she?" Bellamy questions starting to look crazy.

"Bellamy, maybe we were wrong about this" Octavia suggests and Bellamy sighs in disbelief as Kane steps forward taking the gun from Bellamy's hands. Nova hears Bellamy's radio start to go off until Ravens voice is clear.

"(on radio) Bellamy, Bellamy, come in. The Grounders attacked Mount Weather."

Bellamy quickly reaches for his radio and begins talking back. "What are you talking about?" Bellamy questions. "It's gone. It's gone. They're all gone. Sinclair and I are the only ones left. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry" Raven says over the radio indications Gina didn't make it.

A grounder steps forward from Ice nation, his boots hitting the floor. "You should have never moved your people back into Mount Weather. The Ice Nation did what Lexa was too weak to do" He states and Nova notices Lexa gripping her sword.

"This is an act of war. Sentries, arrest the Ice Nation delegation, including the prince" Lexa argues and Abby puts her hand over her mouth. "We need to get home. If they attacked Mount Weather, Arkadia could be next" Abby states and Kane agrees, and they start to pack up their things and leave the room leaving Clarke and Nova crew.

"Clarke, we need to leave now" Bellamy states as Nova walks over and stands next to Bellamy. "We need an ambassador from the 13th Clan to stay here in Polis" Lexa rebuttals and Nova looks up at Bellamy. "Clarke will be safe here under my protection."

"I have to stay" Clarke states and Nova clears her throat. "I have to make sure she keeps her word" Clarke finishes and Bellamy looks into Clarke's eyes with disappointment.

"She left us to die on that mountain. She will always put her people first. You should come home to yours" Bellamy states as Lexa stands behind Clarke.

"I'm sorry" Clarke whispers as Bellamy shakes his head and walks out the room with Nova following. "I want Nova to stay and be protected. If that's alright" Clarke says making Nova stop in her tracks and turns around to face Clarke and Lexa.

"If Nova truly wants to. I'll keep her protected... for you" Lexa states and Clarke nods her head as Lexa and a man leave the room tied to the hip. Nova stands in front of Clarke from a distance staring at her.

"What makes you think I want to stay?" Nova questions putting her sword in her weapons belt. "I haven't seen you in a long time. I wanted to catch up. You can leave whenever you want but I've missed you" Clarke says slowly walking towards Nova making Nova take in Clarke's new appearance. She admires her outfit and her hair and the stuff on her face.

"You look... nice" Nova says clearing her throat and looking away from Clarke. "Thank you" Clarke says standing in front of Nova.

"Why did you leave?" Clarke questions and Nova sighs.

"Listen, I have places to be. People to take care of. I can't stay long but if I am staying for a while we're not doing this" Nova states taking a step back.

"Doing what? Bringing up the truth! You left me! I'm here because I tried to find you. I left my people for you!" Clarke shouts and Nova shakes her head.

"I had to! I didn't fit in here! I fit in there!" Nova argues and Clarke scoffs.

"Where!?" Clarke questions. "I looked everywhere! I asked around everywhere. There's no way you were hiding out alone! You're not that smart Nova!" Clarke shouts and Nova's face drops as she looks at Clarke who catches what she said.

"And you are? You ran away to find me! I didn't even know who you were after a week!" Nova chuckles angrily as she argues back and forth with Clarke.

"I don't know who you are now! Wanheda" Nova rebuttals and Clarke looks into Nova's eyes with disappointment.

"I am not- That's just a stupid name" Clarke mumbles and Nova shrugs. "The name does fit. I mean you kill my mother in front of me then 300 people plus children. Sounds a lot like commander of death to me, don't you think?" Nova argues and Nova feels a sharp pain on her cheek and her face turned to the side when she realized Clarke slapped her. Nova turns her head to face Clarke.

"You don't get it! I bare that pain so you, my mother, my people don't have to! One day you will understand me" Clarke states pointing at Nova before she walks past her.

"I'm not staying here" Nova states and Clarke stops and turns to face Nova.

"Yes, you are because you're in love with me. You always have and you're afraid I'm in danger. You aren't going anywhere" Clarke states and deep-down Nova knew she was right because she was Nova was in love with Clarke. She never stopped, not even when she met Iris.

"I'm only staying to speak with Indra" Nova lies as she walks past Clarke bumping her shoulder as she leaves leaving Clarke to bare the pain of losing Nova once again.
