Hypocrite

* Aliza decided to let her belly show! Play song if you feel like it. *

Klaus is pacing in the back kitchen of Rousseau's, which is empty of employees. When Sophie finally comes into the room with a basket of produce, Klaus grabs her and vamp-speeds them back to the plantation house for a meeting.

He brings her to the living room, where Rebekah, Damon, Stefan and I are waiting for them, and deposits Sophie onto the couch.

" We had a deal! You protect my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain, you allowed Hayley along with my pregnant daughter who was there to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches." Klaus yelled at her angrily.

" I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley and I are linked, remember? She dies, I die and I think they were also trying to get rid of Aliza and her baby." Sophie spoke frantically.

" Then who were they?" Rebekah asked confused.

" They are a faction of extremists. Sabine stupidly told them about some vision she had about the baby." Sophie sighs.

" What kind of vision?" I asked suspiciously.

" She has them all the time. They are totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one." Sophie played with her fingers nervously.

" Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" Klaus walked closer to her.

" Pretty much that your baby and Aliza's would bring death to all witches." Sophie admitted. I couldn't help but be confused because wasn't mine and Hayley's babies going to be witches...

" I grow fonder of my child by the second." Klaus and Damon spoke. I rolled my eyes walking towards Damon and sitting on his lap.

" Sophie, look-- I promised Elijah that I would protect the Mikaelson miracle-baby along with our nieces whilst he tries to win your witch Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction is?" Rebekah sighed getting tired of all the talking.

" Elijah's talking to Davina?" I look at Rebekah shocked.

" Yeah. As we speak. You know her?" Rebekah questioned.

" I knew about her before both of you." I pointed between my dad and her, then wrapping my arm around Damon's shoulders.

" I'm guessing she'll have plenty to say about that crowd." Sophie said bringing the attention back to the main topic.

" Do tell." My dad said intrigued.

" I... wasn't always an advocate for the witches."

Flashback—NEW ORLEANS, EIGHT MONTHS AGO

At Rousseau's, Sophie dances to music behind the bar as the crowd cheers.

" Woo, drink up everybody! This is how they party in Rio!." Sophie pours liquor straight into her mouth from the bottle.

" My sister was devoted, like our parents, and our upbringing was very strict, which drove me nuts. The minute I turned twenty-one, I left the Quarter to travel... and play." Sophie started.

Sophie pours alcohol straight from the bottle into a girl's mouth and kisses her after she swallows it.

" But, I wanted to be a chef, so I came back to Rousseau's."

Jane-Anne enters Rousseau's to find her sister.

" Oh, Jane-Anne!" Jane-Anne smiles and the girls hug affectionately.

" Welcome home, Soph. Can we go some place to talk?"

" Just tell me." Sophie spoke slightly concerned.

" The elders called a vote. We're moving forward with the Harvest." Jane admitted.

" What?" Sophie said stunned.

PRESENT DAY

" What the bloody hell is a Harvest?" Rebekah asked crossing her arms.

" It's a ritual our coven does every three centuries so that the bond to our ancestral magic is restored. We appease our ancestors, they keep our ancestral power flowing." Stefan and I answered. They looked at us stunned.

" What? You guys don't know you history?" I glance at all of them.

" And why haven't I heard of this?" Klaus asked skeptically.

" Because a Harvest always seemed like a myth. A story, passed on through generations like Noah's ark, or the Buddha walking on water. The kind some people take literally, and some people don't." Stefan told him.

FLASHBACK – THE HARVEST RITUAL REHEARSAL, EIGHT MONTHS AGO

Close to a dozen young witches are standing and kneeling in a row outside a farmhouse. An older witch, Bastianna, holds a knife as she paces in front of the girls. She stops in front of the first girl, Monique, and makes a small cut on the palm of her hand.

" To be reborn, we must sacrifice." Bastianna started.

" To be reborn, we must sacrifice." Monique repeats nervously.

" To be reborn, we must have faith." Bastianna cuts the palm of the next girl Cassie.

" To be reborn, we must have faith." Cassie repeated.

" Do you have faith in the Harvest?" Bastianna cuts the hand of the third girl, Abigail.

" Not for a second!" Sophie shows up and stomps toward the witches.

" Sophie!" Monique calls out surprised.

" What are you doing?" Sophie looks to Bastianna.

" Saving the community you renounced." Bastianna looks away from the witch in front of her.

" You're all ridiculous. Monique, seriously?" Sophie looks back to her.

" My mom told me I had to." She spoke back reluctantly.

" Yeah. Well, your mom and I are gonna have words." Davina is the last girl in the row, and she watches in worry as Sophie storms away.

PRESENT DAY

" They had the girls of our community preparing for months. Four would be chosen for the Harvest. They said that it was an honor, that they were special. I thought it was a myth." Sophie explained.

" Was it?" Rebekah questioned. Sophie looks guilty, but before she can say anything, Klaus's cell phone rings.

" Marcel. Bit early in the day for you, isn't it?" My dad walked out. I got up from Damon's lap following him. We haven't had a talk about our late night argument. We're sorta acting like it never happened.

" I know, I make this look easy, but I still have an empire to run." Marcel chuckled.

" Rather you than me. All that responsibility seems like such a bore." Klaus smiled fakely.

" Well, this might spice things up-- I just heard about a bunch of dead witches out in the Bayou. The kinda damage a werewolf might do, only there was no full moon. I have an informant out there I need to meet, and I would love for you to go with me." I glance at Hayley.

" Dead witches in the Bayou. Sounds like less of a problem, and more like a cause for celebration." Klaus says. Damon laughs but I send him a stern look making him shut up.

" Well, something killed them. And may still be out there. And with your blood the only cure for a werewolf bite, I would love for you to accompany me and bring Aliza to." My dad looked up at me for a answer.

I look at Stefan and Damon who had heard the conversation. Stefan nods and Damon shakes his head. I pout at him and he sighs nodding slowly. I smile at my dad and nod.

" Oh, why not? Haven't been to the Bayou in ages. We are on our way." Klaus replied after a moment.

" Alright, peace out." Marcel hung up.

" You can't go out there now. I need to gather the witches' remains and consecrate them. If I don't get to them before sundown, we'll lose the link to their magic." Sophie said having heard the conversation also.

" Those witches tried to kill Hayley and my daughter. I'd prefer for Marcel's informant not to find anything that would lead him back to us, to them, and to you know...them." My dad pointed between Hayley and I's stomachs.

" So, stay put and save the ready of the story til we return." Klaus points at Sophie.

" My loves you coming?" I turn to look at Damon and Stefan. They shook their heads. I gave them a weird look. They always want to come and make sure the baby and I are safe. I just nod and pecked both of their lips, whispering I love you'd to them.

Klaus is standing in front of the bar, where he's calling Rebekah on his cell phone.

" What's the matter Rebekah? You cross that I'm out with your ex?" Klaus teased. I roll my eyes.

" What is all that dreadful hillbilly ruckus in the background?" Rebekah asked annoyed.

" According to the dreadful signage, it's Big Auggie's Bayou Bar." Klaus answered.

" Well, order up a few rounds of moonshine and steer clear of the dead witches for a few. The witch is on a burial mission, your baby mama is on a spirit quest, and I'm keeping Elijah's promise to keep her safe. So, stall, please?" Rebekah hangs up the phone. Klaus, who is visibly angry that his orders were ignored.

" Hey, at least you get to spend more time with your wonderful daughter." I joke which makes him look at me and smile.

" I suppose thats something good out of today so far." I smiled and linked my arm with his as we walked in joining Marcel.

" Everything okay?" Marcel asked looking between us.

" Oh, just the usual. Temperamental sister and baby kicking hard." My dad points to me. I just nod.

" Anyways, where's your informant?" My dad pushed a glass of water in front of me.

" Tomas? He's out sniffin' around. Grab a drink, and then we'll chase him down." Marcel and my dad sit next to me.

" Well, I suppose it will give us a chance to talk things over, like why you haven't returned Elijah. Maybe your young witch has grown partial to his company? She must get so bored." I punched my dad in his side causing him to groan loudly.

" Watch what you say about Davina dad." I glare at him.

" Why're you so curious about Davina?" Marcel took a sip of his drink.

" If I had a 16-year-old all-powerful witch at my beck and call, you would wonder about her, too." Klaus rested his hand on his side where I hit him.

" You're never gonna get her." Marcel and J say together. My dad sends me a look and I just smile at him innocently.

" What? your not. Davina is innocent. So any plans you have for her will end now." I say roughly and take a sip of my my water.

" No plans. Just questions." Klaus looked to Marcel.

" Fine. Ask away." Marcel laughed.

" How'd you meet her?" Klaus asked immediately.

" That might surprise you. This was eight months ago, before I banned the witches from using magic. Relations between vampires and witches weren't what you'd you call friendly, by any means, but let's just say we were a little less... divided. In fact, some of us were getting along just fine."

FLASHBACK-- NEW ORLEANS, EIGHT MONTHS AGO

Sophie Deveraux and Marcel are naked and making out and having sex with each other in the shower at the compound. Afterward, Marcel lies in his bed while Sophie dries herself off beside him.

" Ugh, it's so screwed up. I'm dealing with whacked-out, militant witches." Sophie turned to Marcel.

" Hey, you witches all got a little crazy in you." Marcel smiled at her.

" And my sister has really gone off the deep-end this time." Sophie sighed.

" Jane-Anne's got martyr written all over her, that's for sure." Marcel watched as she wrapped the towel around her.

" They've got every 16-year-old girl in our coven dying to be one of the four chosen for this crazy-ass ritual." Sophie raised her hands to add affect to what she was saying.

" Anything I can do to help?" Marcel smiled at her again.

" No, you've caused enough trouble with them." Sophie sighs and sits down next to him on the bed.

" What, little old me?"

" You're a dick. You always stir it up with the witches. Which is why this." She kisses him briefly on the mouth. "Stays between us." Sophie leans in kissing him again.

PRESENT DAY

" You and Sophie? You hypocrite! You torture those witches, and yet there you were, getting positively Romeo and Juliet with Sophie Deveraux." My dad said incredulous.

" That's not even the best part." I smirked at Marcel bringing my water to my lips.

" Oh, hey hey hey, it wasn't like that. It was a... mutually satisfying hook-up." Marcel raised his hands up.

" Mhmm." I nod laughing stopping when I felt a sharp pain on my side. I waited for it to come again but it didn't so I shook it off.

" So, if Sophie didn't turn to you, her secret vampire lover, in her hour of need, what did she do?" Klaus asked not very interested.

" She did what any good girl do. She went to her priest." Marcel said. I tuned out the rest of the Marcel's story because I knew it all already.

" The witches were furious with Kieran. Sophie tells me that the witches put a hex on his nephew Sean, made it seem like he was slowly losing his mind in order to distract Kieran while they kept planning for the Harvest." I snapped back as Marcel explained it finishing the story after a few minutes.

" So they attacked Kieran's nephew." Klaus stated angrily.

" Yeah. Kid wasn't the same after that. Ended up going postal, killing all his fellow seminary students. All of them. And then himself." My dad shared a look. I held his hand calming him down a bit.

" I might have read about that. The boy... killed a twin, or he was a twin, or something." My dad feigns ignorance.

" Ah, no, no, no, they said he had a twin sister." Cami. I thought. I watch as Marcel sips his liquor, while my dad downs all of his in one gulp, obviously angered at learning that the witches hexed Cami's brother into killing all of those people.

::

" Wait let me understand this-- against all logic, you and Hayley went to the Bayou, where you ran into a man you think may be Marcel's informant, and then you lost him?" I ask into my dads phone. We walked outside seeing Rebekah called.

" Yes, and now that we've established that I am a failure as a sister, aunt, a friend, and an Original, you guys should probably know he's on his way to Marcel right now to rat me out. Skinny guy in a hurry, looks like he saw a ghost." I sighed running a hand through my hair.

" Well take care of it. Just do what you do best." I told her.

" And that is?" She said back.

" Distract." My dad and I said hanging up.

" That's getting creepy." I look at him. I felt a slight pain on my said. I winced a bit.

" It is." He nodded as we entered the bar again not noticing.

" Your sister again?" Marcel looked at us.

" She craves attention. So, come along, you were just getting to the juicy bits." My dad said as we both sat down again.

" I can't joke around about this. I've done a lot in my day, but I do have a rule about kids." Marcel said.

The story about the Harvest continues as Marcel tells it to Klaus at the bar, and Davina tells it to Elijah in her room.

::

" You were quite the knight in shining armor. Though Davina must realize you owe her as much as she owes you. You never could have banned the witches from using magic without her." Klaus spoke as Marcel ended the story.

" Dad, she's not exactly besties with them. He's protecting her. A lot of them would like to get their hands on her and kill her to finish the Harvest. If they don't, the other girls stay dead, and they lose their power." I rested a hand on my stomach usually out of habit but I felt a sharp pain on my side.

" And if they do, you lose yours." My dad turned from me to Marcel.

" Davina dies." I said before gasping and clutching on my my painful side. This pain wasn't normal something was happening and I didn't know what.

" Aliza!" I hear my dad and Marcel call to me.

" Damon, S-Stefan. D-D-Doctor." Was all I said before the pain got to unbearable and I passed out.
