I walked to the front door of Stefan's house. I rung the bell they had there twice. No answer. I went to knock on the door only to find it open. I walked in slowly.

" Stefan!" I called out as I walked in further.

" Stefan." I called again. No answer. I looked around his house amazed.

" This is beautiful." I whispered to myself. I heard a door squeak open and closed. I turned around to look behind me. The front door still open. Suddenly a crow came in and I jumped turning around only to bump into someone.

" Damm you Salvatore's know how to scare people." I told him placing a hand on my heart. " Sorry for barging in. The door was open and I let myself in." I told him pointing at the door that was now closed. I rolled my eyes knowing he did that.

" You must be Aliza. I'm Damon." He said.

" Stefan's brother." We said at the same time. I nodded.

" Yea I know he told me." I said with a fake smile.

" Well I'm shocked he mentioned me." Damon mentioned.

" Why was there a reason not to?" I asked eyeing him slightly.

" No it's just Stefan's not one to brag." He said. I rolled my eyes.

" I don't think there's much to brag about." I told him with a smirk. He smirked back.

" I think we're going to be great friends you and I." He pointed a finger between us.

" We'll see I guess." I told him.

" I guess we will. Please come. I'm sure Stefan will be along any second." He said moving to the side to let me walk in.

" This is beautiful. This is your living room?" I said out loud.

" Living room, parlor, 70s auction." He pointed out.

" I see why my brother is so smitten." He said looking down at me. I rolled my eyes.

" It's about time, for a while there I didn't think we would get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him." I looked at him, eyeing him again. He looked a little jealous. He's trying to play Stefan.

" The last one?" I asked faking curiosity. He nodded.

" Yea Katherine." He looked at me and I shook my head.

" Which one of you dated her first?" I asked looking at him smirking. He smiled slightly.

" Smart girl. Ask Stefan, his answer differs from mine." He said looking at me smirking.

" I know what you are Damon. I have a gift of seeing the best in people and I will do it with you." I told him smiling. He looked shocked.

" All this time and you still haven't ran." Damon asked.

" Nope. Stefan needs someone to be there for him and now so do you." I said to him sincerely. He nodded stiffly.

" I'm in a deep enough mess but you can try." He said looking me in my eyes. I looked back in his.

" I'll take it as a challenge." I told him smiling again. He smiled back at me. It looked real.

" Hello Stefan." Damon said still looking at me. I broke his eye contact and looked at Stefan and smiled.

" Aliza. I didn't know you were coming over." I shook my head.

" I know I should've called-." Damon cut me off.

" Don't be silly, your welcome anytime. Especially now that your my new bestfriend." He said with a smug smile. I slapped his chest hard making him groan a little.

" Don't cut me off again." I told him sternly making him nod.

" Noted." He said rubbing his chest. I smirked.

" Your a vampire Damon, that shouldn't have hurt you so much." I teased him laughing. He laughed back. I looked at Stefan to see him looking at us shocked. He pointed between us. I shrugged and smiled.

" I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt." I told Stefan. He nodded slowly. I turned to Damon.

" You mess this up and I will kill you. I don't care what you are." I told him looking him dead in the eye. He looked a little shocked once again.

" Got it." Damon said nodding.

" Good." I turned back to Stefan.

" I'll go we can talk later. Give Damon my number." I told Stefan and he nodded.

I kissed his cheek and smiled making him do the same. " I'll see you boys later." I said walking out.

~ Stefan and Damon ~

" Great gal. She's got spunk." Damon said smiling looking at Stefan.

" I know. She seems to like you, don't ruin it. Aliza brings out the better in people and she won't give up." Stefan told Damon looking into his eyes.

" I guess we'll see where it goes. Won't we?" Damon said back.

" Tread lightly Damon. She doesn't play. Vampire or not. She's not scared. You can't push her away now. Oh and her number is on the table behind you." Stefan said looking at his brother one more time before heading upstairs. Leaving Damon to think out his next move. Stefan was glad Aliza spoke to Damon. Deep down he knew Aliza will change him somehow.

That time was coming closer than he thought.

" So is he on rebound or what?" Elena asked as we were in the kitchen fixing up dinner.

" No none of that." I told her looking down at the food still fixing it.

" Jeremy." Aunt Jenna called out to him as he walked in. He ignored her and continued walking upstairs.

" Jeremy! Where were you?" She asked walking to the stairs making him stop.

" More stories? Look Jenna I get it, You we're cool once and that's cool." Jeremy said giving Jenna a dumbs up. He continued to walk upstairs.

" Oh no! no no NO!" Aunt Jenna said throwing her apple at Jeremy's head. I sighed.

" OW WHY w-why?" Jeremy asked turning back around.

" Listen up. Quit ditching class or your grounded. No discussion." She said staring at Jeremy.

" Parental authority. I like it. Sleep tight." Jeremy said smiling and giving her another thumbs up. He walked upstairs. Aunt Jenna looked at me and I sighed.

" You know he only listens to you." Elena said backing Jenna up.

" Fine I'll go talk to him." I said putting my spoon down walking up to his room. I knocked. No answer. I knocked again.

" Go away aunt Jenna." He called out. I walked in.

" It's me your favorite sister in the whole world." I said running into the room and jumping on him. He laughed making me laugh.

" Okay no more games." I told him sitting up on his bed. He sighed sitting up facing me.

" You have to stop ditching class! and no more drugs Jeremy. I'm being serious." I told him slapping the back of his head. " OW! what is wrong with you guys and hitting me." He said rubbing his head.

"You know when ever you around me you don't need them. So how about this If you stay clean for at least a week I will drive you anywhere you want to go. But that means no drugs or anything and you have to stay on top of school!" I told him. His eyes light up.

" You for real?" He asked. I nodded smiling.

" Have I ever lied to you?" I asked him. He shook his head.

" Exactly. So we have a deal?" I questioned.

" Yes! alright." He said with a big smile. I smiled back.

" Now go to sleep. Go knows you need it." I told him giving him a tight hug and kissing his head. He went under his covers and I started walking out.

" Lizzie." Jeremy called out. I turned with my hand on the door nob.

" I love you." He said softly making my heart melt.

" I love you more bubs." I said back turning off his light and leaving.

" I'm not ready Bonnie." I heard Elena say.

" Not ready for what?" I said coming next to her. Bonnie got quite. Elena looked nervous.

" Stefan's still on his rebound plus I'm not ready like I said." Elena said looking at me. I glared at her.

" He's not on his rebound that's just Damon being jealous and plus you know nothing about Stefan so let him be." I told her sternly.

" What do you know?" She asked. She's acting like I didn't go over to his house or even told her I liked him.

" Enough to know he's not interested in you." I told her. I looked around and spotted Damon. I decided to leave the girls and walk up to him.

" Mischief." I called out to him making him look at me confused.

" Mischief?" Damon questioned.

" That's my new nickname for you." I told him simply. He smiled.

" I like it. Now I need one for you." He said making a thinking face. " Ouu how about flare." He asked.

" I love it. See already off to a good start Mischief. Stay safe okay." I told me sincerely. He nodded.

" You too flare." I smiled and left him not knowing that I was slowly making my way into his heart already.

~ Stefan's 3rd person pov ~

" What is Damon doing here? Why did he come back?" Zach asked Stefan.

" Because I came home. He wants to make my life miserable." Stefan said back to him buttoning up his shirt.

" Well he's putting us all at risk. That girl in the hospital could talk." Zach said.

" She won't I took care of her." Stefan told Zach finishing his buttons.

" Is she worth it? Uncle Stefan this girl that you came back for." Zach asked staring at Stefan.

" Yes. She might be the key in changing Damon and me." Stefan said staring back at Zach and then leaving.

" Hey can you light mine?" I asked Elena. She nodded and light it for me.

" Thank you." I said smiling lightly at her. I walked away to go and light someone else's candle.

" Thank you." I looked up to see it was Stefan. I smiled.

" Hi." He said.

" Hi." I replied back. I walked away from him a little trying to get away from my sister and her group behind us.

" You know that comet had been traveling across space for thousands of years. All alone." He said into my ear.

" Yea Bonnie said it's the harbinger of evil." Using quotation marks at the end chuckling a little at the end.

" I think it's just a ball of snow and ice, on a path it can't escape. Every thousand of years it gets to come back home." He said in my ear again.

" Look at you being all smart. It's hot." I told him with a smirk making him laugh. I sighed.

" Do you think I can really help Damon?" I asked Stefan softly facing him.

" I think you can help anyone if you really wanted to." He said looking at me also.

" Today was the first time in a while I've seen Damon actually smile and it was a real one." Stefan said looking into my eyes.

" I talked to him earlier. We have nicknames for each other now." I told Stefan with a smile. He looked shocked.

" You know he won't ever say it. At least not now but your slowing making your way into his heart." Stefan told me.

" If you don't want me helping him or even be near him let me know and I'll back off." I told him making him shake his head.

" No, you actually might be what Damon might need in his life. Me too." He said smiling putting his hand on my cheek. Making me melting into it.

" This might ruin it but when the time comes I want to know about your history and about Katherine." I told him softly making him nod.

" Of course. Soon I promise." He said bringing me closer and kissing my cheek. I smiled softly and we looked back at the comet.
