The story has a challenging start to it. Not every story has a happy start to it. This one starts with a fire. The Hale fire.

Everyone living in Beacon Hills knew what happened to the Hale family. A fire erupted in the house, which caused the whole house to be engulfed. A majority of whoever was inside were gone. Only six people survived the fire. Peter Hale was placed in a medically induced coma due to the burns he had. Laura Hale survived, too. Derek Hale, his wife, and his two daughters. The four moved to New York City a few days after the fire.

Reyna Hale, the youngest Hale daughter, was forced to say goodbye to her friends, Scott and Stiles, on January 12, 2005 on her last day of sixth grade. She didn't see them for six years. Reyna and her older sister had difficulty adjusting to living in the Big Apple, but they grew accustomed to it over time.

Valeria was a first-grade teacher at Beacon Hills and is now an S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Her husband was working at a car mechanic shop. Both of them were working jobs while making time for their daughters. Laura Hale would watch over both of them.

Six years later, when Laura told Derek about a new Alpha in Beacon Hills, he went back to the town. He brought his youngest daughter with him. Derek was hesitant to leave his oldest by herself for however long he needed to be back in his hometown. With his wife's death, he grew more protective of Reyna and Nova.

That Alpha that Laura told her brother about was actually Peter Hale. He killed his niece. That was the first shocking thing Reyna found out. The second appalling thing was learning that Kate Argent was responsible for the murder of her family. She was a psychopath for killing innocents.

After Derek slashed Peter's throat, he became the Alpha and a huge dick. He only cared about power, and that was it. Derek barely acknowledged his daughter, and the time that he did was just to use her for power.

Reyna hated what her father's new Alpha status made her. A power hungry bitch. She wasn't a fan of the new pack he made. It felt like Derek was replacing her and Nova. Like he was making a new family. He barely contacted his eldest daughter, who was in her senior year at Columbia before attending Columbia's medical school.

Due to his bitchiness, Reyna couldn't be in the same place with him any longer. She told Scott and Stiles that she wasn't living with her father any longer until he started acting like a dad again. Scott immediately offered for her to stay with him and his mom. Obviously, being near the Argent family was out of the question. Reyna hates them with passion.

She declined the offer. Explaining her situation to Melissa would be hard, plus she didn't know about the supernatural. Reyna was fine living in a hotel room for a bit, but that didn't sit well with Scott. Soon after, she was living with Scott and Melissa.

Reyna did enjoy living with Melissa and Scott. Her little crush on Scott, which she had as a child, came back the more time she spent with him. Scott's huge crush on her never went away either. It just stayed and grew more when Reyna came back. His crush grew into love. He was in love with Reyna Hale.

With another supernatural problem happening in Beacon Hills, Reyna had to juggle two parts of her life. The supernatural part and the normal part. It was difficult, but she managed. Reyna did miss spending time with her father.

During the lacrosse game, when both parties knew who the kanima was, both Reyna and Stiles were taken by Gerard Argent. When Derek found out, he regretted every decision he made when he became Alpha. He was so focused on power and ignored his two daughters.

Once the whole Kanima and Gerard Argent situation was over, Derek made up the time he was a dick to Reyna and Nova but soon another problem came to Beacon Hills.

The Alpha Pack had come.

Reyna was looking over the schedule for her senior year. She is taking four AP classes this semester, just one more than she had in junior year. Reyna was taking AP Biology, AP Calc BC, AP English, and AP Government and Politics. She was going to be packed this year, but that was expected of her since she plans to get into New York University. Reyna plans to become a pediatric nurse. She likes working with kids and helping them.

Reyna didn't go out much during the summer, nor did she help her father. Derek did not let her look for the Alpha Pack. He and the others were doing that. He wanted to keep a close eye on her with Deucalion being in the town. He had a suspicion that he wanted Reyna to join his pack because she was a Salazar witch, so a lockdown ensued at the loft he bought for them.

She heard her father calling her name from the kitchen. Reyna quickly put whatever she needed for school in her school bag. She grabbed her phone and put it in the pocket of her leather jacket. A gift from Nova for her sixteenth birthday.

Reyna did one sweep of her bedroom to make sure she wasn't missing anything. She smooths down her white t-shirt. She opened her door and closed it. Her black cat, Morpheus, leaves her bedroom not before leaving her a four inch scratch on her leg. "Meirda." She curses. This has never happened before. Not once has he scratched her since she got him as a kitten a year ago. This was an extremely rare occurrence.

She glares at Morpheus, who has already left her bedroom. The first thing that comes to mind is getting a band-aid from the kitchen and not using her magic to heal herself. Reyna went straight to the kitchen cabinets, looking for what she needed. "Morpheus scratched me." She explained to her father since he was able to smell the blood.

Derek gets up from his seat and hands the box of band-aids that was on the top shelf to her, where Reyna is too short to reach the top shelf of the cabinet. "You want me to take you to school?" He asked. His daughter shook her head. She is going to take her car.

Reyna looked at the time, spotting that she had under half an hour until her first class began. She grabbed a banana and left the loft. Derek was hoping he would spend more time with her before he continued his search for Boyd and Erica.

Once Reyna made it to the high school, she pulled into the school parking lot. As much as Reyna loved her new car, she longed for a motorcycle. Parking wouldn't be a hassle, and getting from place to place would be very easy for her, plus traffic wouldn't be as annoying. Maybe she can get one in the next few years, possibly while she is at college.

Slowly, more students came in, filling up the classroom. Scott and Stiles came in and sat down. Lydia took the seat next to Stiles. Allison sat in front of Scott. She was not a fan of hers when Allison moved to Beacon back in January. Reyna tried to steer clear of the Argents but that was difficult since they would not leave her or her father alone.

"The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of immense darkness." The new person made her presence known with the click of her heels on the floor. Ms. Blake dressed like a brand new teacher with her skirt and top. "This is the last line of the first book we will read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class. Phones off, everyone."

As Ms. Blake was writing whatever else on the chalkboard, a man came into the classroom and whispered something into her ear. She glances at Scott as he is talking to her. Ms. Blake calls for Scott to come up front.

Once Ms. Blake was done talking to Scott outside of the classroom, she told everyone to take out their copy of Heart Of Darkness and read the first five chapters. Stiles was discreetly texting Reyna, asking her if Morpheus had scratched her recently. Since a deer crashed into Lydia's car last night, it was terrified when Scott placed his hand on the deer to feel what it was feeling. That deer was running from something.

The sound of a bird crashing into the window made some students near it flinch. What remains is the crimson blood stain bird left on the perfectly clean window. Ms. Blake placed down the chalk and walked toward the window. More birds were coming this way and whatever was causing them to fly away had to be extremely terrifying for them. Another bird hits the window, then another. The fourth bird shatters the glass window, giving the others access to the classroom. The once clean room was now in disarray with birds flying around.

Ms. Blake orders her students to get down. In the classroom next door, the windows were also broken causing birds to fly in. Reyna hid under her desk so she wouldn't sustain any more cuts just like the rest of her classmates. As much as she wanted to use her magic to stop the birds, Reyna couldn't risk exposing herself.

The classroom is in disarray. Black feathers were littered all over the room. This was only the beginning of whatever was coming to Beacon Hills.

Reyna and Stiles were at the burned down Hale house. The two of them left school since continuing classes wasn't a good option considering what just happened. Being back at the ruins of the Hale house brought back painful memories for Reyna. She remembered the day like it were yesterday. All that childlike innocence was gone in just a matter of hours all thanks to Kate Argent.

When the three of them entered the house, Reyna's eyes wandered to the unconscious Isaac Lahey on the table. Looks like Scott and Derek found him, and he wasn't wearing any clothes under the sheet.

As Scott finished explaining what happened to the tattoo he got last night, Derek used his ruby red Alpha eyes to see that tattoo on his bicep. "Yeah, I see it. It's two bands, right? What does it mean?" He didn't know the answer to the question. "It's just something I traced with my fingers." Scott reached the dust covered desk and made a small circle with his pointer finger and then used his pointer and middle to create two bigger circles around the small one. He went into detail about what it meant to him. The tattoo is a reward to him.

Derek, being his usual self, went straight to the point. "The pain's gonna be worse than anything you've ever felt." Reyna knows exactly what he is talking about. The only way to keep a tattoo permanent on a werewolf is by burning their skin where it is. Scott doesn't have an ounce of fear in him. "Do it."

Her father signals her to do her thing. Reyna makes a ball of fire appear on the palm of her hand. "Oh, wow. That's, uh — that's a lot for me, so I'm gonna take that as my cue. I'm just gonna wait outside." Stiles walks to the front door to get away from the scene. Derek grasped his arm without looking. He was gonna help hold Scott down while Reyna did what she needed to do.

Reyna bends to place her hand on Scott's arm. He gives her a nod of confirmation. "Sorry." She whispers. Once her palm made contact with his bicep, Scott started wincing at the pain. It causes him to move around. Melinoe and Stiles keep a tight grip on him to prevent him from moving anymore. It is hard to do that with his werewolf strength. "Hold him." Derek orders.

"I'm trying."

"Well, try harder."

As Reyna continued doing her job, Scott began to sweat due to the heat he was feeling. Slowly, his tattoo was coming back. His scream of pain turns into a wolf's roar with his fangs coming out and his eyes glowing. Seconds later, Scott passes out from the pain. Stiles let go of him. No point in keeping him down now that he is passed out.

Stiles dashes out of the house. He clearly doesn't want to be in the house any longer, watching Reyna do her job. Reyna continued working in silence on Scott's tattoo. She always hated doing this whenever her father got a tattoo. It would always take her too long to make it permanently appear on the skin without the healing factor taking it away.

After some time, Reyna finished, and then a few minutes later, Scott hurled back into consciousness. He turns his head to his tattoo, which is now there. "It worked."
