chapter eleven, Go Home

NOVA SAT IN HER OFFICE with Kara and Octavia. "So, you saved the worms correct?" Nova questions and Kara nods with a smirk on her face. "Yes, whenever you are ready to march down so are they" Kara states and Nova nods. "Octavia and I will go see about the eye in the sky, check on our people and make sure everyone is okay" Nova orders and Kara leave the room leaving Octavia and Nova.

Octavia and Nova leave the office and walk side by side to go see Bellamy. "Why'd you do that Madi?" Nova asks as they continue to walk in step. "She was brave enough to tell us the truth so I gave her protection. Nothing wrong with that" Octavia answers. "You didn't give her protection, you put her in the clan without Clarke's permission" Nova says stopping in her tracks and turning to Octavia.

"In the clan she's protected. Out of it.. I don't know what I would do" Octavia states and Nova scoffs. "It wouldn't matter if what you would do. I am the leader around here" Nova states before leaving the two silent again. Octavia clears her throat and begins walking again and Nova catches up.

They walk into the room Monty has made his lab and see Harper and Bellamy in the room. "Any word?" Nova asks as she immediately steps in the door. "Look, we knew it would take some time. We can count on Echo" Harper defends and Nova sighs and shrugs. "Wouldn't be the first time she betrayed us" Octavia mumbles and Bellamy still faces his back towards Nova and Octavia.

"If you're mad we shot the traitors, get over it. We're fighting for our lives here, Bellamy and don't forget you caused this. The hydrofarm is on its last legs" Nova explains as Octavia walks next to her brother and leans on the table in-front of her.

"Yeah, I mean, Truth is, it's a miracle you showed up when you did. We haven't thanked you enough for that" Octavia reassures and Bellamy looks between Nova and Octavia.

"She's right. Thank you for showing up and giving us a war our first couple days on the ground. If we can just get to Shallow Valley, things will be better... hopefully" Nova says waiting for Bellamy to answer. He lifts his head but still refuses to make eye contact.

"Funny, that's the same thing we said about getting back down to the ground. Then we found you two" Bellamy says and Nova's face tenses at his words but she makes eye contact with Harper and softens her face showing his words didn't hurt her.

Nova scoffs softly to herself and walks out of the room with Octavia catching up. "He didn't mean that" Octavia states and Nova shakes her head.

"He did. He meant every word" Nova argues as she continues to walk down the hallway.

IT WAS NOW TIME TO TRAIN the children of Wonkru and that included Madi. Nova didn't know how to feel about the situation but if Clarke let her come to training she must be slowly accepting it. Nova sat in her throne looking down at the children who are training with Gaia. Gaia brought up Madi and Ethan and they faced each other in the middle of the floor.

"Strike high!" Gaia shouts an Madi and Ethan raise there swords in the air hitting both of theirs together.

"Defend!" Gaia orders and Madi and Ethan bring there swords to the ground and hits them against each other's swords before raising them again.

"Strike Low. Focus. Strong Stances" Gaia states and Madi and Ethan do exactly as they're told. While Gaia was throwing out orders Ethan slipped his foot underneath Madi's making her land on her back. Nova stood to her feet and looked down at the children.

"Hold. Ethan...Why did you do that?" Gaia questions looking to Ethan disappointingly. "Because she gave me the opening, teacher...and she's not Wonkru" Ethan responds and Nova rolls her eyes as Ethan puts his hand out for Madi to grab and once she does he pushes it away fast making the kids around him chuckle.

"Enough!" Nova shouts from above making the kids stand up straight and look to Keket.

"I expect more from Wonkru warriors -- honor, strength, and unity. We'll be at war soon, and there's nothing funny about that" Gaia says looking to the children who nod their heads slowly.

"Go on. Get to class" Nova orders and the kids rush off in groups. Nova looks down at Gaia and sends her a nod before she walks off and starts walking through the hallway to meet up with Octavia and Kara because Indra wanted to speak with her.

"Are the worms good?" Nova questions as she begins walking infront of them. "They should be. I've taken good care of them" Kara responds and Nova nods as they reach the door to the isolation room. Kara steps in front of Nova and opens the door for her.

Once Octavia and Nova walk into the room they see Indra, Clarke and Bellamy in the room.

"What the hell are they doing here, Indra?" Cooper asks turning around and shutting the door. Nova looks Indra up and down before letting out a sigh. "You said you wanted to see me. Why are they here?" Nova questions looking to Indra. "You knew about this" Indra states referring to the worms.

Nova looks down before meeting eyes with Indra again. "I did. I told Cooper to keep them. We are about to a group of people with superior firepower and every geographic advantage. This was needed" Nova states as she sees Indra shaking her head slowly.

"What happens when your secret weapon destroys the valley you're fighting for?" Clarke questions and Nova turns around to face Kara who steps up beside her.

"I ran some tests. The worms can't survive in a green environment for more than a few days, long enough to kill everyone they come in contact with before we get there" Kara states and Nova locks eyes with Clarke.

"Are we really having this conversation? Our friends are there, people we love" Bellamy argues and Nova puts a fake smile on her face.

"Acceptable losses, Bellamy. Kara, check on the worms" Nova orders as Kara pushes past Clarke. Clarke looks to Nova in shock at what she has just said.

"Come on, big brother. How many innocent lives have you sacrificed" Octavia questions looking to her brother while Nova looks over to Clarke.

"Or you, Wanheda? Just because I'm doing the same exact thing you do, Im the bad guy? I am no different! I am trying to save my people" Nova states taking a step forward.

"No, you see? We were trying to save our people. You.. you are trying to kill yours" Bellamy argues stepping up to her.

"I just don't see it that way" Nova sighs shrugging her shoulders. "You killed him" Kara says peeking through the clear shields. Nova turns her head and faces Kara confused. "No. You did" Indra answers and Nova scoffs. "Kara.. what happened?" Nova asks as she takes another step forward gripping the handle of her sword.

"One of the defectors survive" Kara states as Bellamy turns around to face Octavia and Nova. "Looks like we found something that's not acceptable."

"Keket, I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but the results were remarkable. The worms reproduced 3 times faster in a live body, and we need quantity as well as control. I found that--" Kara states as she walks over to Nova and Nova tilts her head sending Kara an interesting look. "Nova, I know you. You don't want to do this" Clarke states and Nova closes her eyes taking in a deep breath. "Oh, Spare your hypocrisy, Clarke. Miller told me about the man that you irradiated in Becca's lab.." Octavia states and Nova turns her head to face Clarke who looks a little choked up at the question.

"How long did your test subject survive?" Nova questions Kara and Kara sighs, "Long enough for a defector to board their ship and fly to the valley" Kara answers with a slight smile on her face. Nova nods her head slowly and sends Kara a wink for good work.

"Octavia, Nova, please, don't do this" Bellamy practically begs and Nova can't take it anymore. She closes her eyes and takes a few deep breathes before being able to face Indra, Clarke and Bellamy. "I don't want anything to happen to your friends, Bellamy, not even Echo but Bellamy, we are at war. Once we control the eye in the sky, we send the worms" Nova states looking to Bellamy who slowly shakes his head looking over at Clarke in defeat.

"Kara, choose one of the elite guards to deliver it" Octavia orders as Nova turns around and starts walking out of the room with Octavia catching up, "It's time for Wonkru to go home" Nova states before she leaves the room with Octavia by her side.
