chapter fourteen, We March for Keket!

Indra brought Bellamy in to see Clarke and Indra and Madi leave the room so they have some privacy and the door closes behind them. "What did you do?" Clarke asks and Bellamy looks to Clarke and sighs, "Uh- Monty's algae" Bellamy answers and Clarke widens her eyes. "Oh, my God" Clarke breathes out and Bellamy clears his throat.

"Yeah, but um Octavia is next in line so we can convince her to accept Diyoza's terms for peace. By the time Nova wakes up, if she wakes up--" Bellamy rants and Clarke widens her eyes and stops him. "Bellamy! You mean when Octavia wakes up... right?" Clarke questions and Bellamy sighs. "I'm sorry, Clarke. I couldn't kill my sister so I poisoned Nova instead. "You what? No! No!" Clarke shouts pushing Bellamy away.

"I'm sure Nova will wake up. Murphy was fine and we didn't even have a doctor" Bellamy tries to reassure Clarke as a tear slides down her cheek. "We agreed to poison Octavia" Clarke states and Bellamy shakes his head. "No, you did!" Bellamy shouts and Clarke looks down thinking about Nova.

"I know this is hard, but she was willing to destroy the last survivable land on Earth just to win a war, not to mention kill the people we love" Bellamy says placing a hand on Clarke's shoulder and she takes a step back away from him. "I knew the only reason you didn't want to poison her was because you loved her. Well, sorry to break it too you Clarke, I love my sister even though she's gone crazy. I wasn't going to poison her just because you said so" Bellamy says and Clarke shakes her head.

"Um- Octavia's about to take over for Nova and I know I can get her to surrender so once Wonkru surrenders, I'll come and get you out. We'll head back to Shallow Valley together" Bellamy says and Clarke sighs looking up at Bellamy. "She'll never go for it. She'll follow all of Novas rules. As long as Nova is still breathing. The war is happening. You ruined everything" Clarke says as she takes a seat down on the bench.

"I hope that's not the case" Bellamy says as he leaves the room.

"What the hell happened! Who did this!" Octavia shouts as she bursts in Novas room seeing her unconscious on the bed with Jackson helping her. "I don't know but Bellamy brought her too us. Octavia, she's getting worse" Niylah says and Octavia breaths heavily. "You have to save her. Do whatever you need too" Octavia orders and Niylah nods as Bellamy and Indra enter the room with a Wonkru guard and the door closes behind them.

Octavia walks up to Bellamy slaps him across the face. "What did you do?" Octavia questions and Bellamy holds his cheek and looks to Octavia in shock. "You were there, tell us everything that happened. Did she take anything? Drink anything?" Niylah questions and Octavia continues to look to her brother. "It's like I told Miller. She was eating on of your rations. Why?" Bellamy asks looking clueless.

"Why? Because she might have been poisoned. That's why" Octavia argues and Indra looks to Octavia. "Bellamy would never. He's your brother Octavia, you should trust him" Indra states and Octavia scoffs. "Well, I don't" Octavia states.

"Listen, We were sharing our ration the Wonkru way. I ate it, too, and I'm fine" Bellamy states and Octavia looks her brother up and down. "Have you considered that the worm toxin might still be in her blood?" Indra asks and Octavia turns around and looks at Nova's body. "It's possible, making this a secondary reaction to the substance she was exposed to, but a week ago--" Jackson rants and Octavia looks to Jackson with an aggressive look. "English" Octavia warns and Jackson clears his throat. "Dialysis won't work, nothing will. We need to prepare for succession" Jackson says and Octavia tilts her head looking to Jackson.

"I'll inform Wonkru. If there's any change in her condition, I want to be the first to know. Gather the first battalion and the delegates" Indra says as Bellamy, Miller and Indra leave Nova's room. "Someone tried to kill her and I will find out who" Octavia says as she grips the end of Nova's bed while looking at Nova's unconscious body.

Indra and Miller enter the pit with other guards and Bellamy behind them. "The whispers are true. Our beloved Keket has fallen ill" Indra informs and members of Wonkru let out shocked gasps. "These may be her final hours. Listen to me. I trained Nova as one of my seconds, and I love her and I love her like my own child. I advised her, and led her army with pride. It was her desire that if she should ever fall. I step forward to lead you. Keket, wanted what we all want: to live a better life in Shallow Valley, and we will, but not through war, not when there's a better way. For the last six years, we have lost hundreds of our people. We can't afford to lose anymore. I will negotiate for Wonkru to enter the valley peacefully, so that no more shall suffer" Indra speaks and Miller furrows his eyebrows listening.

"But.. You're not in command here" Miller says as he walks over to Indra. "Not even over the first battalion Blodreina and Keket gave that honor to me" Miller states. "So you expect us to follow you? He's Skaikru" Brell calls out in the crowd. "There is no Skaikru, you know that" Miller states looking to Brell and Brell scoffs. "In the absence of a commander, the clan delegates should reassemble and choose the next leader" Brell says. "Blasphemy. Miller's right. There are no more clans, only Wonkru and enemies of Wonkru" A man calls out and The Wonkru member walks to Brell.

"That's funny coming from someone who only escaped death in this arena because because our real enemies fell from the sky" Brell interrogates and the Wonkru member pushes Brell, provoking her to push back and leads to a fight between the two.

Octavia walks in and hears yelling and a fight breaking out. She grabs Indra's gun and fires two bullets upward stopping the fight. "Stop! Keket didn't give her power to any of you! She gave it too
me, blodreina! We are going to war... believe that. Keket will rise again.. you better believe that. Keket was poisoned by someone. She isn't ill. As your leader for now I will find who did this and they will fight in this arena!" Octavia shouts as she drops the gun on the ground and members of Wonkru cheer. "Yesterday Keket ordered us to march on the valley, so we march for Keket!" Octavia screams easing her hand in the air.

"For Keket! For Keket! For Keket! For Keket!" Wonkru cheers as Octavia slowly puts her arm down and turns around and looks to Bellamy. "War is here" Octavia says as the people of Wonkru continue to cheer. "War is here" Bellamy repeats but he didn't want too he just knew there was another plan he had to get in order. So for now he'll play along.
