chapter thirty-five, Traitor

Violet was getting ready and decided since Bellamy knew about her and Josephine and would soon tell the rest of his people, she could dress in the clothes she actually liked even tho she sort of liked the rusty look she had going on. Violet walks in Russel's office area where he's with Bellamy discussing the compound situation.

"What about the mother and child? Will they agree?" Russel asks looking over at Bellamy who has a notepad in his hand. Violet clears her throat and looks around the room waiting for the meeting to be over. "I'll handle our people. How long will
it take to build?" Bellamy asks as Josephine crosses her arms over her chest and clears her throat trying to get Russel's attention. "Just a moment, sweetheart. With all of our people helping you, it will go much faster" Russel explains and Violet notices Bellamy staring intensely at Josephine so she takes a look at her as well and sees her tapping on her arm but she doesn't even know she's doing it.

Violet looks back over at Bellamy and notices him writing something down in his notepad. This is her time to speak up and say he knows something and it's possible Clarke could be alive in the mind space like Nova is. But she doesn't utter a word. Why? Violet doesn't know the answer herself.

Bellamy exits the room with his friend Miller who takes a look at the person who has taken over Clarke's body before he exits the room
himself. Violet suddenly feels blood trickle down her nose and she quickly wipes it away with her hand and looks over and sees the same thing happening to Josie. "You're both bleeding? Did something happen?" Russel asks looking to the two of them. "Nova's very well alive. She didn't die in the mind space" Violet confesses and Russel widens his eyes before looking back at Josie.

"Yep, she's still in my head but don't worry. I know how to kill her once and for all" Josephine declares and Violet can't help but feel guilty since she knows too but she doesn't speak up about it. Why? Because she wants to help. She wants to help Nova live.

Instead of getting a check up by Russel she snuck out and went to the great hall to see Nova's people. When she opened the door she got multiple stares and multiple people stood up. "What the hell are you doing here?" Echo questions and Violet looks around at the group of people who want to defend Nova.

"I'm not here to fight. I'm here to help" Violet declares as she slowly approaches them. "We don't want your help. You kill our people and think you can get away with it?" Echo asks before Bellamy intervenes and steps past her, looking to Violet with curiosity. "Is Clarke alive?" Bellamy asks and Violet swallows a large lump in her throat. "Yes and so is Nova" Violet replies and he lets out a sigh of relief.

"This is the first body i've been in in 200 years. I thought it would be different. I thought that Russel would be doing this with permission, instead he stole this body. I don't want to do that so, let me help" Violet urges and everyone looks around at each other. "You really want to help?" Bellamy asks and Violet nods her head. "Then you're going to come with us when our ship lands and you're going to let us get Clarke" Bellamy says and Violet furrows her eyebrows and looks at him. "And Nova?" Violet asks and Bellamy has a face of realization and so does Violet, "You- you only care about Clarke. All of you only care about Clarke" Violet says and Bellamy clears his throat in embarrassment. "I'll come with you to your ship. I won't tell Josephine and I won't tell Russel" Violet agrees and Bellamy nods his head slowly.

"Nova is an amazing person by the way. She's done bad things but so have you. Echo, you cheated in the conclave. Bellamy, you threw away Raven's radio, helped pull the lever at mount weather, kill your sisters lover- None of you are any better than her" Violet rants looking around at the group as they look around at each other. "How do you know all of that?" Echo wonders. "I see what she sees. If she thinks it, I see it. I know almost everything about every single one of you some information from Nova and more from others" Violet answers.

"Come get me when you want me on your stupid ship" Violet says as she exits the room and slams the door behind her. "Violet, hey" Josephine greets, startling Violet. "What's up?" Violet asks looking to Josephine. "I figured out how to get Clarke and Nova out of our heads. E-" Josephine starts. "EMP. I know, she gave me the same memory" Violet confesses and Josephine nods her head slowly.

"Great, then lets go to Ryker.. see what he can do" Josephine says and Josephine and Violet start walking side by side and Violet sees Theo on her way to Rykers by ignores him and walks into the building seeing Murphy down on one leg, proposing to Emori. "Adorable" Josie interrupts making Murphy roll his eyes. "Sorry, we hate to interrupt but we need Ryker" Violet says as she looks at the two tiredly not caring about the moment they were sharing together.

"Ryker!" Josephine shouts and walks towards the steps, "Ryker, get down here!" Josie shouts as Murphy stands back up on feet, annoyed. "Josephine.. Violet this is Emori. Emori this is Josephine and Violet" Murphy introduces and Emori furrows her eyebrows as she looks between the two.

"You punched me" Emori points out and Violet sighs, "I had to be in character" Violet confesses and Emori shakes her head slowly and looks away form Violet when suddenly Ryker starts coming down the stairs. "What is it?" He asks. "What's wrong?". "A lot" Violet mumbles as she leans up against the wall. "How about the fact that you're living in the machine shop and not the palace?" Josephine questions and Violet winces as she looks at Ryker. "It's Clarke, right? and Nova?" Ryker wonders as he points between the two girls.

"No, Josephine and Violet but you're half right considering..." Violet trails as she forms a tight lipped smile on her face. "Considering what?" Murphy asks and Josie and Violet look to each other. "The girl with the large hand. Emori. Is she with us?" Josephine asks and looks to Murphy who nods his head slowly. "Great, can we catch up later. We need Ryker's help" Violet intervenes and looks over to Ryker.

"With?" he wonders. "Getting Nova and Clarke out of our heads. Well, there own heads" Josephine explains and Murphy starts to put two and two together. "Clarke and Nova are alive?" Murphy asks and Josephine sighs and nods her head. "Yep and now were on the same page" Josephine mocks as she steps between Murphy and Emori and wraps her arm around them.

Josephine and Violet stayed in the machine shop all night while Ryker was creating the EMP along with Emori's help and while Josephine paces back and clear twisting her hair. "Oh god. Josephine stop with the hair" Violet groans in annoyance as she stands up against the wall. "Whatever" Josie mumbles and stops fidgeting with her hair.

"So, can they see me?" Murphy wonders looking at Violet and Josephine. Josephine steps towards Murphy with a smile on her face, "Yes. She can, John and she knows that you betrayed her and that you're gonna help me kill her once and for all. How does that make you feel?" Josephine urges and Violet shakes her head knowing that most of that isn't true.

"She's lying. By the time both minds are simultaneously conscious, she won't be able to speak, let alone stand" Ryker argues as he continues to work on the EMP. "I gotta go get some air" Violet says as she leaves the machine shop and heads outside. Suddenly, her arm is grabbed and she is taking along the side of the building and realizes it's Bellamy. "Jesus, you could have walked up to me" Violet argues as she pushes Bellamy away.

"Do you have any news?" Bellamy asks and Violet rolls her eyes. "We're making an EMP to get Clarke and Nova out of our heads. Tomorrow we are going to use it" Violet states and Bellamy nods his head. "We've talked with Emori and she agreed to help us. Tomorrow she's going to sneak out with the EMP and your aren't gonna say anything. We will lead you and Josephine to the fields and then take you to an outpost marked on the map Russel gave us" Bellamy says and Violet nods her head slowly.

"Thank you" Bellamy says genuinely. "Are you going to save Nova or Clarke?" Violet asks and Bellamy doesn't say a word which verifies his answers anyway. "There's enough power to save them both on that EMP" Violet says and looks to Bellamy who still doesn't say a word so Violet leaves his presence and walks back into the shop.

It was the next day, early morning and the EMP was ready to go. Violet looks behind her and saw Emori gathering the EMP but she didn't say a word she let her move on. "Before we get started, in case anyone gets any ideas..." Josephine says as she turns and faces Ryker. "If I don't come back, Jade has a letter for my father that says you let Gabriel go which makes you a founder of the terrorist trying to wipe us out" Josephine rants. "And you. Don't get any ideas because Jade has been ordered to kill
you" Violet says as she looks at Murphy with a tightly lipped smile. "And your adorable-" Josephine says as she turns around to face Emori who isn't there. "Emori?" Murphy questions as he walks over to the work station and sees the EMP is gone.

"She took the EMP" Murphy points out as Josephine shakes her head. The 3 of them, Josie, Murphy and Violet start rushing out to find Emori even though Violet already knew where she was going. "The fields" Josephine says and the three of them rush over to the fields meanwhile, Violet starts feeling lightheaded since the two minds and one body is starting to get to her.

Soon, they finally catch up with her in the middle of
the field. "Emori, what are you doing?" Murphy asks as Violet looks around not seeing Bellamy or the rest of the group. "Let's go back, be immortals" Murphy begs as he slowly approaches her and it's clear she feels bad but she can't let them kill Clarke just like Violet can't let them kill Nova because Violet has some weird relationships with her. She trusts her even after Nova going into her worst memory and mostly because she understands her.

Murphy continues to try and talk to Emori and it's so obvious she's fighting the urge to want to run into his arms and forget about the EMP and Clarke and Nova but she made a promise. He tries to fill her head with memories of the past to make her feel bad about the situation she's caused but it's not working. Maybe because no one was holding a gun to his head demanding her to drop the EMP or he dies. "I'm sorry it had to be like this" Emori says as Murphy and Josephine furrow there eyebrows and suddenly Bellamy and Echo appear behind Emori.

"Oh, perfect" Josie mocks annoyingly. "You know I admire you guys. I really do. If the other primes had half your balls, we'd be swimming in hosts and none of this would be necessary" Josephine rants and Violet rolls her eyes and crosses her arms over her chest. "Listen, Clarke's alive but the brain we now share is dying just like Violet over here. Nova somehow lived through the strongest primes mind space and her brain is dying. Unless one of you is a neurosurgeon, these bodies will die in hours not days" Josephine states and Violet lets out a deep breath as she looks to Bellamy, Echo and Emori who slowly get closer and closer.

"Hm, funny you say that because our neurosurgeon is on his way" Echo says and Josephine's smile fades into an annoyed one. "Jackson" Murphy answers. "Too bad you can't get past the radiation shield" Josephine taunts. "That's where the EMP comes in Josie" Violet intervenes and Josephine slowly turns around to face Violet with a face of realization. "Strongest prime and a traitor.. great mix" Josephine taunts and Violet rolls her eyes. "It's not a traitor if you're doing the right thing" Violet argues but Josephine says nothing back.

Emori begins walks towards the radiation fence and Murphy tries to stop her but Josephine grabs onto him, kicks his leg which causes him to fall down and she puts a scalpel to his throat which makes Emori stop in her tracks as she looks to her lover. "Josephine!" Violet shrieks as she looks to Josie with wide eyes.

"Step away from the device" Josie orders and Emori puts the stuff down. "You think we care about that traitor?" Bellamy asks and Emori looks to him in shock while Josephine chuckles. "Lord knows you shouldn't, but yeah I do, which brings us to yet another episode of no good choices" Josephine taunts jokingly. "Either you let Murphy die in a doomed attempt to save her and... Nova that starts a war with my father or we stay friends and live happily ever after. Take a minute to think it over"Josephine says giving them a ultimatum.

"We don't need time. I have an idea" Violet says as she grabs Josephine's other arm and twist it behind her back making her yelp in pain and drop the scalpel when all of a sudden an alarm is heard which makes Josephine chuckle despite being in pain, "That can't be good for you and it sure isn't good for you.. traitor" Josephine says as she knees Violet in her stomach but Violet takes the pain and elbows Josie in her jaw making her fall to the ground but shortly after motorcycles are heard in the distance. "Haha, here they come" Josephine taunts.

"Emori, set the EMP" Echo says and Josephine widens her eyes. "So much for forever" Josephine mumbles as she kicks Violet in her stomach making her stumble back which gives her time to grab the scalpel and slice Murphy's leg making him scream in pain and making Emori worry about him and rush to him giving Josephine time to run towards the EMP but Echo stops her by twisting her hand. Violet rushes over and steps in front of Josephine who swings her arm but Violet ducks do it doesn't hit her and ends up hitting Echo while Bellamy runs over and starts tying Josephine up and shortly after he wraps some around Violet's wrist too. "What the hell are you doing?" Violet asks.

"I'm tired of thinking of Nova as a second option. I'm tired of blaming her. She gets to live too even if I have to kill you to do it" Bellamy says as tightens her restraints and Echo runs over and starts using the EMP. "Hm, traitor thought she could get to live over me?" Josephine laughs and Violet rolls her eyes as she moves her wrist around in the restraints.

Echo presses the button on the EMP making the shield go down. Bellamy starts dragging Violet and Josephine through it but Violet walk s willingly while Josephine start dragging herself back which makes Violet fall down and Bellamy tumble a little bit, staying in the radiation area.

"Josephine!" Violet yells as she manages to sit up and grab onto Josie's restraints and drag her onto the other side with Bellamy making it twice the strength. "Stay safe" Bellamy calls out and looks over to Echo on the other side. "Save Clarke and Nova" Echo says and Violet breathes heavily as Bellamy grabs onto the rope that connects Josie and Violet together and starts walking through the woods with them.
