chapter thirty-four, She's Awake..

There Nova stood in Fio's cabin without Fio in it. Instead she stood in front of Harper. Her best friend from the ark but when she got to the ground she simply forgot about the time they had spent together up there. Things changed. They were different. "Bellamy made a deal that keeps everyone safe. Madi, will be safe and Octavia can survive on her own. I know it" Nova says as she looks to Harper who shakes her head.

"You're supposed to be the good guys. Yes, that means our side gets to live, but at what cost? You're giving in to people who murder human beings to live forever" Harper argues as she takes a step forward towards Nova. "What about what I've done. I'm no better than them. Besides, Violet said she'll make sure they're safe and surprisingly I trust her" Nova says as she locks eyes with Harper.

"Nova-". "We have to do what's best for our people" Nova interrupts. "Doing the wrong thing is never what's best. You know that" Harper argues and Nova sighs and takes a seat on a wooden chair. "I don't understand. I don't understand what you want me to do. I am locked in here. There's nothing I can do. It's too late. I gave Violet the memory so when she wakes up, she'll let everyone know how to get me out of my own head. It's over" Nova explains as she looks away from Harper who looks at her with disappointment.

"It's not over until I say it is" Harper says as she walks up to Nova and reaches her hand out. Nova hesitates but she grabs Harper's hand and Harper walks her out into the hallway all the way over to Violet's door. Her mind space. "This is Violet's mind space there's no way I can get in here" Nova says as she looks over at Harper who has a slight smirk on her face. "What's she gonna do, kill you?".

Nova sighs and takes a minute to think while she has her hand on the door knob. "I'm not letting you die. Not in here" Harper says and Nova opens the door walking into Violet's mind space side by side with Harper. They enter a room full of random items like books or record players and faint voices are heard all around the room. Once they further into the room it's not as big as she thought it would be but it had CD's and record players all around since that the type of stuff Violet chose to keep her memories locked it. "She didn't have much memories since I am her first body so that explains the lack of CD's and record players. She said she liked music" Nova explains as she looks around.

All of a sudden a loud explosion is heard and Nova furrows her eyebrows as she looks around in shock. "What was that?" Nova asks looking over to Harper. "I don't know but from in here we can affect her body but- she can sense it" Harper states and Nova widens her eyes a little bit looking Harper shocked at the words she just said.

"Is it hurting her?" Nova asks concerned. "No way to tell but come on. We should find something we can use" Harper says as she starts looking around at the CD's and record players for a certain memory. "They all have some date" Nova says as she looks at the CD's lined up on a shelf. "Good thing there isn't that many" Harper sighs as her and Nova continue to look around at Violet's memories.

"Nova" Harper calls out and Nova follows her voice and meets up with her at a door. "What's that?" Nova asks. "Could be some place she keeps her primal wounds. They create a physical response" Harper explains and Nova's eyes widen in realization. "Does that mean we can control my body?" Nova asks and Harper smiles slightly and nods her head as she reaches in her pocket and starts trying to hack the keypad.

"Learned it from Monty?" Nova asks and Harper blushes slightly and nods her head. "Perks of having a smart boyfriend" Harper says, "Find out more of who this girl is while I get this open" Harper orders and Nova nods her head and goes back to Violet's memories.

Nova grabs at one and fades into one of Violet's memories. It's Violet and she's in her normal body and she's in some tent in the middle of the woods and was with a girl name Josephine. The girl who had taken over Clarke's body. Josephine met up with Violet in a secret tent they made in the middle of the woods away from everyone else.

Violet slipped off her shirt while Josephine trailed kisses down Violets stomach. Violet grabbed both sides of Josephine's face and brought there lips together. They began to kiss more passionately and Violet was helping Josephine unbutton her jeans when Violet heard everything go silent outside so she pulled away from Josephine and caught her breath.

Nova left the memory not wanting to see anymore but was quite shocked. Violet felt something for Josephine. Nova could tell. Nova looked over at another CD memory and grabbed ahold of it, fading into it. There was screaming heard and people running. Nova furrows her eyebrows and looks around until she seen Violet practically fighting for her life while everyone else ran. "Russel... Russel" Violet calls out as Russel drops his gun and walks towards Violet who is up against a tree. "Sanctum... is... mine!" Russel screams and swings the crowbar at Violet but she ducks and crawls away from him and looking at Josephine who's eyes are widen open and has blood pouring from her head. "Please!" Violet shouts as Russel rushes towards her and lifts her up by her shirt and hits her across the head with the crowbar making Violet go down but she doesn't die. Russel looks down at her confusingly and hits her again making her go down. Russel thinks she's dead but surprising to Violet and Russel Violet gets up again and looks Russel in the eyes while her black blood drips down her forehead and onto her clothes and cheeks.

"Russel..." Violet cries out and Russel screams before using the other end of the crowbar and stabbing Violet right in the chest. "Sanctum is mine!" Russel screams looking into the eyes of Violet who has blood pouring out of her mouth from the impact of the crowbar in her chest. Russel pushes the crowbar further in Violets chest making Violet go limp while looking into Russels eyes.

Nova left the memory and from that memory she learned why Violet was the strongest prime. She had no family. She didn't die on the first hit because she didn't want to. She bared all the pain by someone she looked up to. Nova understood her and that's the last thing Nova wanted. She's starting to like the person who stole her body in a very friendly way. "Harper.." Nova called out and Harper turned her head towards Nova.

"I don't think I can do this" Nova confesses and Harper furrows her eyebrows. "This girl lost everything including her life and the girl she loved" Nova explains and Harper turns to face her. "She stole your body. She keeps this memory locked away for a reason. Let's find out that reason" Harper urges and Nova sighs as she walks towards the door while Harper finishes unlocking the door they walk right in and they enter a large house. A family house.

"Alright, honey. Grab the mashed potatoes off the stove" A women says while Violet sits at the dinner table. "Of course" The man says and follows her orders gracefully. Nova looks out the large windows of the home and sees other homes on the street.

"It's what life was like before the bombs" Nova says as she looks around the home seeing family pictures on the wall, a wonderful couch in the living room with a large TV. A knock is heard at the door and the women rushes to the door and opens in and in walks Russel, Simone and Josephine. Josephine and Violet greet each other immediately. It's like they were best friends before everything happened. "Megan. Nice to see you again" Simone greets as she brings Megan in, Violet's mom into a tight a hug. "How you doing, John?" Russel asks as he walks over to John, Violet's father who's in the kitchen and greets him with a hand shake.

A few minutes later the food is set up on the table and both families are sitting down at the table enjoying there meal. "Has Violet changed her mind about leaving for the mission?" Simone asks and Megan clears her throat awkwardly. "No, she thinks it's some sort of set up. I think she's just afraid" Megan says and Violet rolls her eyes.

"I'm not going on some weird mission" Violet says before taking a bite of her food. Nova and Harper take a seat on the couch watching the memory unfold. "It's a good idea. Josephine's going, right?" Simone states and looks over to Josephine who seems quite terrified but nods her head. "Honey, I really think you should go" John says and Violet furrows her eyebrows. "You guys were good with my decision. Why are we bringing it up?" Violet asks and everyone goes silent. Simone stands to her feet quickly and grabs Violet's arms and drags her away from the table while Russel stands to his feet and holds a gun to John and Megan's head. "Mom!" Josephine shouts.

"What the hell are you guys doing!?" Violet screams. "Honey... We want you to go on Eligius 3 but with your father and I's condition we can't. So, we've agreed to sacrifice ourselves so you can go with Simone and Russel" Megan explains which makes multiple tears fall down Violet's cheeks. "Mom! Please!" Violet screams as Russel takes in a deep breathe and shoots her father first not giving her any time to say goodbye.

"No! No!" Violet screams as Josephine rushes over to her and comforts her leaving Simone to let go of her and walk over to Megan. "It's okay honey. You live.. for us. I lo-" Megan says but is cut off in the end by Simone taking the shot and Megan falling to the ground with a bullet in her head. "Ah! Why! Mommy! Mommy!" Violet sobs and Nova widens her eyes as she looks over at Harper who's shocked as well. "That's why she decided to leave. She had nothing to live for anyway. She left with her parents killers and still obeys them to this day for them. She barley got to say goodbye" Nova says as she looks at the memory feeling to close to home and thinking about her father who was floated and her mother who was killed by the hands of Clarke.

The memory freezes and Nova looks around as the lights begin to flicker. "Harper, run! Hide!" Nova says as she stands up from the couch and Harper rushes towards the kitchen hiding behind the island while Violet burst through the door. "Why the hell did you come here!?" Violet screams and Nova breathes heavily as she looks to an angry Violet. "Get out!" Violet screams which weirdly brings Nova back into the hallway next to Violet's door.

"Ugh!" Violet screams as she burst out of her door and tackle Nova to the ground. "I was starting to like you! You went into one of my worse memories! You betrayed me!" Violet screams as she tries to grab ahold of Nova's neck but Nova knees Violet in her back harshly making her fall to the side. "I didn't want to but I needed to see what you were hiding" Nova explains and Violet widens her eyes. "I said that I would help your people and let you go peacefully then you go into my worse memory and see what I'm hiding thinking I wouldn't find out!" Violet shouts as Nova crawls away until her back hits the wall.

"I trusted you. I started to like you. Not anymore. I want you gone, out of this mind space!" Violet shouts as she stands to her feet and walks towards Nova. "I'm sorry... okay? I'm sorry" Nova apologizes as she stands to her feet as well. "You should have minded your business and went out peacefully" Violet states and Nova nods her head.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that-" Nova begins and Violet punches Nova in the face with no hesitation. "Shut up. You have no idea what's it like" Violet says and Nova wipes the blood that trickles down her nose and slowly looks over at Violet. "My dad was floated because I stole medicine for him. My mother went on a rampage and killed an entire village for me then died by the hands of the girl I love a few days later. I lost my parents too and I barley got to say goodbye. My brother ran out into acid rain and got stabbed because he was worried about... me. I've lost too many people and I've took many peoples lives. Don't you dare stand there and say I have no clue what it's like because trust me. I do" Nova argues as she walks towards Nova until she backs her up into the wall.

Violet breathes heavily as she looks into Nova's eyes and sees the pain. "You still should have never went into that room. The deals off" Violet says and as she says that she disappears from the mind space and wakes up in her bed she fell asleep in and quickly sits up and catches her breath after everything she just witnessed in that mind space.

Nova back in the mind space looks around the hallways and see she's disappeared and looks over at Violet's door and realizes, "She's awake".
