chapter thirty-six, Clarke

Bellamy, Violet and Josephine continue to walk through the woods while Violet accpeted her fate, Josie did not and kept fighting the restraints knowing her time was limited since Clarke was still in her head. "Stop fighting" Bellamy orders while Josephine breathes heavily not being able to handle the two minds in one body. Violet can't either but since she's a little more stronger she can fight it but not for long.

"Don't you get it, you're killing all 3 of us. Not to mention the rest of your friends when my Father finds out. Is Clarke really worth all of that?" Josephine asks before she lets out a gasps and falls to the ground and starts convulsing. Bellamy pulls her up, Josephine's nose starts bleeding black but Bellamy wipes it away. "It's getting worse. You have to take me home" Josephine urges when she's all calmed down.

"It's not gonna happen, Josie" Violet groans in annoyance as she looks around the woods. "Besides, If I take you home, you'll use an EMP and kill Clarke. I told you I won't let that happen" Bellamy says as Josephine shakes her head slowly. "The Children of Gabriel won't help you. When they find out who I am and find out Violet Miller is back in a new body, they won't just destroy my Mind Drive, they'll cut off our heads, and you'll have nothing" Josephine says trying to negotiate with Bellamy but it's clear all Bellamy wants to do is save his people.

"Well, let's make sure" Bellamy says as he pulls out a knife and cut his finger. "Don't find out" He finishes as he wipes the red blood on Josephine's forehead and puts a little under Violet's nose.

"Look, I don't know what they taught you on that hunk of metal you grew up in, but where I'm from when someone tells you you're in danger, you listen" Josephine says and Violet scoffs. "Yeah but when your parents killed mine you sat there like you had no idea what was going on but you did.. you did" Violet whispers as she steps towards Josie aggressively. "I told you there was nothing I could do" Josephine says and Violet shakes her head.

"You could've helped" Violet declares when all of a sudden she hears rustling in the trees. "You're in our woods! A long way from home" Someone says and Violet looks around as a few people come into view. "It's ok. I need to see Gabriel" Bellamy says and Josephine rolls her eyes thinking it's funny how he thought he could say that and get his way.

"On the ground!" The man yells as they start approaching the three of them in the woods. "He needs to know what we know" Bellamy declares and Josephine shakes her head as the Child of Gabriel tackles Josephine, Violet and Bellamy making them grunt in pain as they hit the ground. They soon capture Bellamy, Violet and Josephine, then put bags over their heads.

The Children of Gabriel them take them over to this cave which has a very weird odor to it and of course Josephine has to point out, "Ew. What is that smell?" Josephine asks as she gags a little while Violet rolls her eyes and looks around the cave seeing human skeletons on the ground. "Which one of you is Gabriel? We have information critical to your cause" Bellamy says trying to get some information out to them but it's clear these people don't want to listen. "Can you shut up for two seconds. They don't care" Violet declares as they shove her forward a little bit.

"What did these people ever do to you, hmm? Let me guess, they refused reeducation?" Josephine asks referring the the skeletons on the ground. "Shut up you're gonna get us killed" Violet whispers. "Does their faith in the Primes really threaten you that much? Do you think that dressing up in scary costumes helps your cause? We laugh at you in Sanctum" Josephine taunts which makes a Child of Gabriel pull out a sword and point it at Josephine startling her a bit.

"Not laughing now are you.. bitch" Violet mumbles to herself as Josephine swallows a large lump done her throat. "Just wait. They can make hosts. As many as they want" Bellamy states. "Details, or your rude friend dies" a child of Gabriel states and Bellamy scoffs shaking his head. "I don't think so. Touch her, I'll tell you nothing" Bellamy says and Violet and Josie look over at him and see how much his demeanor changed.

"Something tells me we could make you talk" The man says and Violet intervenes to help him out, "But by then, the 12 Primes could be back. Gabriel gets the details. No one else" Bellamy says as if two primes aren't next to him. "You've gotta be-" Violet says as she looks over at Bellamy. "There were 13. Chain them up" He orders and two Children of Gabriel pull Bellamy, Violet and Josephine to the wall and chain them up. "If the Old Man doesn't respond, you die like him. Let's go. Radios. Jericho to Providence. We have a prisoner that claims Primes can now make hosts. If you're out there.." The man says to one of his people before they all exit leaving the three of them alone in the dark cave.

"Radios don't work on this moon. How could they not know that?" Bellamy asks and Josephine says as she looks down at her nails. "They work in one place" Josephine says and Violet looks to her knowing who she's referring too. "That means he's alive" Violet says as her and Josephine lock eyes.

"What's the deal with you two?" Bellamy asks looking to Josephine referring to Gabriel. "I've been in love with Gabriel for 236 years, the last 70 of which he's been trying to kill me. You know, relationships" Josephine jokes and Violet chuckles but hides it while she listens in on the conversation. Josephine starts tapping her finger on her chain. Josephine looks down at it. "Morse code, huh? She's crafty, I'll give her that. B-O-O...H-O-O. That's harsh" Josephine reads out as Bellamy looks between Nova and Clarke. "They can hear us?" Bellamy asks and Violet nods her head.

"Which means the wall separating our minds is almost gone. When that happens, she'll stroke out, I'll download, and you can say good-bye to your genocidal friend" Josephine taunts and Violet looks over at her. "Can't you just accept that you lost?" Violet wonders but Josephine doesn't answer since Bellamy interrupts. "Let me talk to her" Bellamy orders and Josephine sighs, "I'd have to give her control for that, so no" Josephine says and Violet rolls her eyes.

"She can hear you though so say what you want to say" Violet says reassuringly and Bellamy nods his head. "I won't let you die.. you either Nova" Bellamy says as he looks at Violet and Violet smiles slightly. "She told me to tell you she understands. She doesn't forgive you but she understands" Violet says reciting Nova's words while Bellamy nods his head accepting her answer.

A few hours has passed since they were chained up and the three of them have fallen silent until Josephine started staring at Bellamy grabbing his attention. "What?" Bellamy sighs as he looks over at Josie. "My father was a fool for letting you people stay. All that time spent building a sanctuary for the human race, and he destroys it because of the most human thing of all - love. I am awesome but It's just...well, look at you. You should have known how this would end" Josephine rants before she clicks her tongue multiple times. "Guess I'm just saying all this because I know so much about you now" Josephine says making Bellamy chuckle at her confidence and Violet scoff annoyingly at it.

"Hmm, you do, huh?" Bellamy wonders and Josephine smiles as she nods her head. "Mm-hmm. Take you and Clarke, for instance. Now that's a weird relationship, isn't it? First you want to kill her to save your own ass, even though it means the genocide of your own people on the Ark, and then you become besties, bonding over the actual genocide at Mount Weather. Together. It's exhausting really" Josephine sighs. "Then there's you and Nova. You tortured her up on the Ark for 2 years then practically bullied her when you guys got to the ground. Then you poisoned after Clarke told you not too. Crazy.." Josephine says as she shakes her head.

"Tell me about it. You're wrong about how this ends, by the way. Mmm. First, we get you back into your Mind Drive, and then I'll use it for a peace deal with your Father" Bellamy argues and Josephine scoffs. "Your belief in yourself is cute. But unfortunately, putting aside about a thousand variables, chief among them Clarke's newfound evangelical, do better-ism, making it impossible for her to accept a peace deal with those awful body snatchers, all 3 of us are gonna die in this cave" Josephine argues and Violet turns to look at her. "Or maybe one of us" Violet says as she stares into Josephine's eyes trying it make it obvious.

Indistinct voices are heard and the Children of Gabriel enter the cave. "Gag the prisoners. Everybody up! The Sanctum Riders are coming" One of them say as they step towards the three prisoners. "Ow!" Violet shouts as she snatches her arm away from the man who gripped it to hard. "Get away from me" Josephine orders and the child of Gabriel punches Josephine in the face.

"Stand her up" One orders and Two Children of Gabriel pull Josephine to her feet. Black blood spills from Josephine's lip and at the same time Violet starts feeling the affects from one mind one body and feels blood drip from her nose and since in the mind space she's a night blood her black blood comes dripping down with Nova's born red blood.

"Her too!" Someone notices and Josephine wipes her notices and sees the stain on her jacket sleeve. "Shit!" Josephine shrieks as a Child of Gabriel move Josephine's hair and looks at the scar on her neck from the Mind Drive and does the same too Violet. "Two primes..." One of them says as they snatch Violet's hair back and make her look into their eyes. "Who are you?" They ask. "Violet Miller. The strongest prime" Violet grunts as her hair gets pull tighter and tighter.

"Unchain them. Put them on the rocks" A child of Gabriel orders and each guard walk over to the rock and slams Josephine and Violet facedown. "Don't do this, please. The drive in her head, it's Josephine" Bellamy says and Violet rolls her eyes as her head is pushed down onto the rock. "Not helping!" Josephine shouts. Violet closes her eyes and appears in the mind space where Nova stands at the other end of the hallway.

"Help me" Violet begs and Nova nods her head as Violet grabs her arm which gives Nova complete control. "The answer is death to Primes.. all of them" A child of Gabriel says before two them lower their swords down at Josephine as Violet at the same time but before it can cut them Josephine and Violet dodge the blade. Violet who is actually Nova manages to use her strength to break the restraints and kick one of the men in the leg and bang his head off the wall of the cave then after Josephine kills her warrior there's one left and Nova wastes no
time and takes the sword from the other man and uses it to decapitate the last man standing getting blood to splash onto her face.

Nova drops the sword and looks over at Josephine who has taken over Clarke's body. "You-" Nova says as she was about to hurt Josephine until she ran into Nova wrapping her arms around her. "Nova.." she whispered and Nova slowly realized that it was Clarke hugging her and she didn't hesitate to hug her back. "Clarke!" Nova shouted as a tear slide down her face once she felt all the emotions at once again.

"I love you" Clarke says and Nova smiles. "I love you too" Nova confesses as she pulls away from the hug and they both look over at Bellamy who is shocked as well. "They gave you control?" Bellamy asks and Nova smiles. "No way Violet could do that by herself" Nova says as she touches the top of her head and feels the wig she pulls a strand of hair and sees the blonde and immediately takes it off letting her long brown hair flow down her back as voice are heard in the distance.

"We don't have time. You guys got to go" Bellamy says and Nova furrows her eyebrows. "We can't leave you now" Nova declares as Bellamy sends them both a sad smile. "Go find Gabriel. Go! Now!" Bellamy shouts and Clarke and Nova look to each other and nod before exiting the cave out the other way while shouting is heard getting closer and closer as they're being chased when suddenly Sanctum Guard's motorcycle engines rev and they're right on Clarke and Nova's tail.

"We have to pretend to be Josephine and Violet" Clarke says and Nova nods her head. "Here! we're here!" Clarke says as she impersonates Josephine. Sanctum Guards stop in the middle of the path, guns aimed at the Children of Gabriel. "Gun! Down!" One of the children of Gabriel shout. "Don't shoot. You'll hit the primes. Down! Get down!" Jade screams and Nova widens her eyes before her and Clarke dive to the ground while sanctum guards mow down the Children of Gabriel chasing Clarke, killing them all.

Jade rushes over to them and helps them both up after the gunfire is done. "Thank the Primes you're ok. Come on, let's get you home" Jade says and Clarke and Nova look to each other before Clarke grabs a rock from the ground and hits Jade in the head. "Why can I see you?" Clarke says looking behind her but there's no one there in Nova's eyes.

"Who?" Nova asks. "I can see Josephine. She says you look... hot with your brown hair. Shut up" Clarke says getting defense making Nova smile a bit before Clarke pulls out her radio. "Gabriel, my name is Clarke Griffin. Josephine Lightbourne is in my head. If you can hear this, we're coming to you" Clarke says over the radio and grabs Nova's hand and walks over to Jade's motorcycle. Clarke climbs on the motorcycle and makes the engine rev. "Do you know how to drive this?" Nova asks as she gets on the back of it.

"I can try" Clarke says as she starts driving away.
